I Can't Go to a Hero School with my Little Sister!

Okay, uh, most of the characters have have powers and Kyousuke has powers and, uh, he goes to a hero school with his sister Kirino and he saves the world and the universe and stuff, doesn't get anymore complicated then that, I swear.

11. Chapter 11

At feeling Kyousuke's ice cold skin she quickly thought the worst but quickly banished those thoughts and prepared to resuscitate him but the moment she got close…

Ky: "{Huff}."

Ki: "He's still breathing?"

She then grabbed his wrist and could also feel a pulse.

Ki: "What the…no, no time to think on this, I have to get him to a doctor."

Kirino picked Kyousuke up and headed to the shelter but before she took a step Theodore and bunch of men in black military fatigues and carrying red painted rifles came running out.

Th: "We're at the disaster zone anyone see anything?"

"Monster corpse one o'clock."

"Civilian and POI spotted!"

Ki: "Please my brother needs help!"

Th: "Medic!"

"He looks in really bad shape, we have to get him stabilized fast."

Th: "Alright then, medic you stay here and support the others."

"Roger."

Th: "Girl come with me."

Kirino and Theodore headed back down to the shelter, through the main doors and past the main shelter area.

Ki: "Wait shouldn't we head to the shelter's medical center?"

Th: "We can't, I'm sorry but your brother is too special, a civilian doctor won't be able to do much for him."

They entered a wide hall and ran down an equally wide set of stairs to an Armored Personnel Carrier waiting on an underground two lane roadway.

Th: "Come on let's load up."

Kirino and Theodore walked into the APC and he flipped down an emergency medical bed from the wall.

Th: "Okay lay him down."

Kirino carefully laid Kyousuke down and Theodore jacked him into the life support and an IV and examined him before pulling out an electric blanket and covering him with it.

Ki: "Is he going to be okay?"

Th: "I've done all I can do for now we need to get him to get him to an ER fast."

Theodore went over to the APC's communicator and began to talk to the driver.

Th: "Hey you awake?"

"Yeah I'm here."

Th: "Take us to the Bunker's hospital."

"Roger."

The APC door closed and began to move forward.

Ki: "The Bunker?"

Th: "It's where Johannes is, I'm sure you know him."

Ki: "And he's the only one that can help him?"

Th: "Yeah, especially in this condition."

Ki: "Do you know about his power?"

Th: "Yeah but…for reasons you probably don't want to know about, anyway my name is Theodore Matthews and given how much you were clinging to our special guy over there you must be Kirino Kousaka."

Ki: "Yeah, are you sure it's okay for us to go down to the Bunker?"

Th: "Absolutely, given how much damage was dealt to the city there will be a lot of civilians and businesses temporarily moving down there until the rebuild is finished."

Exposition: The Bunker is the largest part in the civilian evacuation system, essentially an underground city, it is connected to every shelter including residential ones through a network of underground roadways and elevators and is used as a final refuge from Cat K, A and above threats. But it can also be used as a "back up" city should the surface one sustain too much damage, it lies around two miles beneath the main city and is capable of supporting 2 times the total population for over a century or even more if required and can even sustain small livestock and aquaculture.

As they continued Kirino filled Theodore in on what happened earlier. The road sloped downward until things got bumpy for a few moments as they loaded into a vehicle elevator, the elevator began to lower and Kirino decided to feel Kyousuke's forehead only to reel back at how cold he was.

Ki: "Why's he so cold? He almost feels like a corpse but his heart is still beating."

Th: "Dunno but try not to think too negatively."

Ki: "So you really are with the DSA right?"

Th: "Yeah."

Ki: "You look so young, are you in the same boat as Arika?"

Th: "No and you should know looks can be deceiving."

Ki: "Eh?"

Th: "Nevermind we should almost be there."

The elevator reached The Bunker and the APC exited it then entered a tunnel, the tunnel curved downward before opening up to an area in The Bunker's first level which consisted of one of the business districts where people were already making preparations to temporarily move in until the city was repaired. The artificial sunlight from the ceiling shone down on the APC as it reached the first level's hospital and came to a stop in front of it where Nicola along with some assistants were waiting to transport Kyousuke.

Th: "Alright time to get out."

Ki: "Okay."

Theodore led Kirino out of the APC as Nicola's team went in to retrieve Kyousuke and Theodore updated Nicola on Kyousuke's condition.

Ki: "Mr. Johannes is Kyousuke going to be okay?"

Ni: "From what Theodore has told me…he should be perfectly fine."

Ki: "But what happened to his indestructibility?"

Ni: "Like I told you before that's a passive ability so it can be effected by the condition of his superhuman organs and it seems he's suffering from a condition I call energy syphoning, a condition beings like him suffer from when they rapidly expend large amounts of energy causing whatever they have left to drain out with it. The channels in his body that allow him to absorb and release energy were ripped open so wide that they can't close on their own at the moment and if he isn't treated soon his core will eventually freeze itself and everything in the immediate area to absolute zero and shut down thus killing him."

Ki: "…"

Th: "Way to sugar coat it Nick."

Ni: "Though there's always the chance the core heals on its own but like I said your brother is going to be perfectly fine, after all I am the best doctor on the planet."

Ki: "Hm thanks."

Ni: "Well I should get to work, see you two later."

Nicola strolled off into the hospital though Kirino was still pretty anxious which Theodore took notice of.

Th: "…You know, what he said wasn't an exaggeration by any means."

Ki: "Eh?"

Th: "Nick, for all intents and purposes, truly is the best doctor on the planet, thanks to his power, he can heal the most fatal of wounds, cure uncurable diseases and even bring the dead back to life if he can get to them in time, so don't worry."

Ki: "…Jeez you sure are dramatic."

Th: "Eh? Well anyway you might want to get cleaned up."

Ki: "Hm?"

Kirino looked down at herself to see she was covered in dirt and grime and her clothes were torn in a few places.

Ki: "Oh my gosh I look terrible!"

Th: "This hospital has a fully equipped laundry room and showers, you can take care of business while Nick works on your brother."

Ki: "Yeah, well I'm sure you're busy and all so I'll let you be on your way, thanks for your help Matthews."

Th: "Sure no problem."

Theodore got back into the APC and it drove off while Kirino walked into the hospital which was totally empty inside, there wasn't even anyone at the front desk, fortunately Kirino was able to locate the showers and the laundry room which were right next to eachother. In a little over an hour she was able to get all clean and made her way to the ER but on her way there she found Nicola sitting in a waiting area reading an American comic book.

Ni: "Pahahaha he can't eat all those corndogs."

Ki: "Uh Mr. Johannes aren't you supposed to be working on my brother?"

Ni: "Hm? What do you mean?"

Ki: "My brother is dying right now you're out here reading comics!"

Ni: "Oh yes, we're already done."

Ki: "Eh?"

Ni: "After getting Kyousuke stabilized I worked some of my magic and now he's completely recovered in that room over there, he should be waking up soon, you can go in and see him if you want."

Ki: "Really?"

Ni: "Yes, now if you'll excuse me I have comics to read."

Kirino anxiously left Nicola to his comics and entered the room he pointed to and inside was the familiar sight of Kyousuke out cold in a hospital bed and from what she could see he looked healthy and the nurses even put some new clothes on him.

Ki: "Thank god."

Even his arm was completely restored and Kirino couldn't help but hold it in disbelief, it felt warm and she could feel a healthy pulse.

Ki: "How many times are you going to put me through this you idiot?"

Ky: "{Cough! Cough! Cough!} Ugh thirsty, oh hey Kirino."

Ki: "Uh, hey."

Ky: "Jeez third time waking up in a hospital, I hope I'm not racking up some kind of dept."

Ki: "I'm sure you're fine."

Ky: "Well I'm not wearing a catheter so I'm going to get some water, oh and uh…can you let go of my hand?"

Kirino silently and embarrassedly let go of his hand as he got out of bed and headed for the door.

Ky: "Weird."

Ki: No burns or scars anywhere on his body and his destroyed arm was restored, if Mr. Johannes was a Sacrificial Healer then given his physique all of Kyousuke's damage would've transferred onto his body, what did he do? What kind of power does he have?

Kirino followed Kyousuke out the door to the waiting area where Nicola was still reading.

Ni: "Hey there Kyousuke how're you feeling?"

Ky: "What are you doing here?"

Ni: "Just making sure there's nothing out of the ordinary after your encounter with that villain."

Ky: "I don't feel weird, though I do feel really tired for some reason and honestly my memory of the whole thing is pretty foggy."

Ki: "You don't remember anything?"

Ky: "Not really but I do remember a really bright light, maybe the afterlife."

Ni: "Probably nothing and if you're feeling okay you can go ahead home, I'll call a ride for you and if you want I can get the school to give you the day off tomorrow."

Ky: "Sure, I feel like I could just lay in bed for the rest of the week."

Ki: "Well if we're done here let's get home, gonna have to watch my show on the DVR now."

Ni: "Actually Kirino do you mind if I talk to you in private for a moment, Kyousuke you can go ahead."

Ky: "Sure."

As Kyousuke walked off Kirino turned to Nicola.

Ki: "What is it?"

Ni: "Well it seems we've run into a bit of a problem with Kyousuke, his core is currently in a sort of reboot mode."

Ki: "What does that mean?"

Ni: "It means all his abilities that are linked to it will be temporarily disabled, including his indestructibility."

Ki: "S-so-"

Ni: "Yes, Kyousuke is mortal, for now at least."

Ki: "For how long?"

Ni: "No way of telling, but fortunately it won't last long, anywhere from a few minutes to a few of hours, just make sure he doesn't harm himself in that time though that won't be a problem since a side effect of this condition is lethargy and since it's already night he'll be going to sleep soon so he'll be back to normal by the time he wakes up."

Ki: "Guess he should avoid doing whatever he did back there again huh?"

Ni: "Yes, his core is still developing putting it under such immense stress like he did can cause it to malfunction or worse…shut down entirely."

Ki: "How's that worse, for us his core shutting down would mean we wouldn't have to deal with any of this anymore."

Ni: "Hm when it comes to the core shutting down it's never a simple as it just turning off, it's always very hazardous, freezing, explosions, implosions, mass life force dispersal, catastrophic mass fission, subatomic charge inversion, disintegration, any number of things can happen prior to total shut down but hey risking all that is better than having to deal with the people that are trying to keep all that and worse from happening."

Ki: "…"

Ni: "I know most people don't have much trust in the government but remember that Kyousuke poses a serious risk to the lives of many people and as a, ahem, fellow human the last thing me and my colleagues want is for anyone to get hurt. Though that doesn't mean we'll throw your brother under the bus the first chance we get since there's still the probability he's still human but if it ever comes to it we won't hesitate. I don't mean for any malice behind that statement but even you have to understand that you can't sacrifice innocent people just to save someone you care about so you should be prepared for the time when we have to make the call."

Ki: "…Yeah…but still that doesn't mean I'm not going to do whatever I can to prevent that."

Ni: "Hmph good to know and I'll do whatever I can to aid you, now get going you've been through a lot today and I'm sure you want to get to bed."

Ki: "Okay but one last thing."

Ni: "What?"

Ki: "How did you heal Kyousuke?"

Ni: "Through my own power, how else?"

Ki: "Okay but what power do you have?"

Ni: "That's a secret, though I will tell you my power is quite one of a kind."

Ki: "I see, well then I guess I'll see you later and thank you for saving my brother Mr. Johannes."

Ni: "No problem."

Kirino ran off to meet back with her brother, though once she got outside, she was met with the rather annoying sight of Arika poking at Kyousuke, who she had chased up a lamp post, with a long wooden pole.

Ar: "Oh come on~ All I want to do is talk~"

Ky: "Get away from me you crazy bitch! Agh watch it where you poke that thing!"

Ar: "Oh believe me, I am."

Ki: "Hey!"

Ar: "Oh shit!"

Kirino ran over to break things up and as soon as Arika noticed her she disintegrated the pole and ran off to hide behind a trash bin.

Ki: "Jeez how the hell did you find us down here?"

Ar: "It's my job to know Kyousuke's location at all times."

Ky: "Ugh."

Ki: "Damn, h-hey Kyousuke careful getting down!"

Ky: "You can't tell me what to do! I'll swan dive off this mother if I feel like!"

Ki: "Get down here now before I decide to shove my foot up your ass!"

Ky: "Alright jeez."

Ar: "Wow Kyou guess we know who wears the pants in this relationship."

Ky: "{Unwilling to admit it's true glare}."

Ki: "Hey Arika I need to talk you for a sec, Kyousuke you go off and wait for our ride."

Ky: "Yeah, yeah."

With Kyousuke sitting on a bench out of earshot Kirino began conversing with Arika.

Ki: "So did you already hear about Kyousuke?"

Ar: "Well I just got here, ever since the attack we've all been in the dark about Kyousuke until recently, there something wrong with him?"

Ki: "He's…mortal."

Ar: "Whoa, you mean he can get hurt and bleed and everything?"

Ki: "Yeah but it should only last for a few hours so can you lay off him until then?"

Ar: "Ugh fine, but what the heck happened that would cause this?"

Ki: "…I don't really feel like going through all that again, just talk to your DSA buddies about it."

Ar: "Jeez, sounds heavy."

It was then that Arika decided to place her hand on Kirino's shoulder.

Ar: "Listen I know it may be a bit odd hearing this from me but if you need someone to talk to, I'm here for you."

Ki: "I'm sure even you can sense the intense doubt I'm exuding."

Ar: "I know I can be pretty vulgar most of the time, for which I feel no shame, but I have lots of life experience in dealing with heavy emotional issues, I've dealt with loss, betrayal, abuse, why do you think I am the way I am today? It could do you some good to talk with an older well-traveled girl, especially since I'm kind of the only one you can legally talk to about all this."

Ki: "…"

Ar: "But hey it's your call, later little sis."

Arika entered the hospital leaving the siblings alone to wait for their ride, they waited there a short while talking about this and that and playing rock paper scissors since thumb wrestling was out of the question until-

{SCREEEECH}

Just as Kyousuke was about to win best 2 out of 3 a familiar car screeched to a halt right next them.

Ky: "Hey is that our parents' car?"

Yo: "Kirino!"

Yoshino immediately jumped out of the car and embraced Kirino.

Ki: "Mom what are you doing down here?!"

Yo: "Your father got a call from some officials and told us you were here."

Dai: "You aren't hurt, are you?"

Ki: "Just a bump to the head."

Dai: "Thank goodness."

Ky: "Uh, hey mom, hey dad, long time no see."

Yo: "Hm? Oh hey Kyousuke what've you been up to?"

Ky: "W-well if you haven't heard I'm the new top ranked student at CHA, isn't that awesome?"

Dai: "Good for you, well let's get home."

With a confused look on his face and a tiny pang of sadness in his chest Kyousuke got into the car with everyone else and they headed back to the surface where they could see it was night. After making it to the house Kyousuke decided to turn in for the night without bothering with dinner.

Ki: "Kyousuke aren't you going to eat? I know it's late but we haven't eaten since lunch."

Ky: "Nah just not hungry, if you need something just knock."

Kirino watched as Kyousuke went upstairs before entering the living room.

Yo: "Hey there dear, I have some leftovers reheated for you and Kyousuke."

Ki: "Thanks but Kyousuke won't be eating, not hungry."

Yo: "Oh good because we have some bad news you have to hear."

Ki: "What?"

Dai: "It seems Kyousuke isn't going to be leaving like we thought he would, the government told us of some complications that occurred that will prevent them from properly detaching Kyousuke from our lives which means we'll have to continue to deal with him for the foreseeable future."

Yo: "Why do things like this have to happen to us? I don't know how much longer I can take living like this…I wish he'd just disappear already."

Dai: "Hm."

Ki: "…Well that's too bad."

Yo: "And the worst part is the fact that you have to spend so much time with him at school, it was bad enough having him at the house."

Ki: "No need to worry mom I can handle him, besides I have the teachers to look out for me."

Yo: "Yeah you're right but I just can't help but worry."

Ki: "Jeez if you worry too much you'll end up getting wrinkles."

Yo: "Oh don't even joke about that!"

After finishing her food Kirino spent the rest of the night watching TV with her parents but the entire time she couldn't help but look at them in disapproval for their words.

Ki: "Well I'm going to bed, night."

Yo: "Night sweetie."

Dai: "Sleep well."

Ki: "…Those jerks."

She climbed up the stairs, walked up to Kyousuke's door and knocked to check on him.

Ki: "{knock, knock}…"

He didn't answer but then she noticed a noise.

Ky: "{Snooooore}."

Kirino opened the door and looked inside to see Kyousuke laying on his back in an Egyptian dance pose and snoring like he hadn't slept in days and Kirino decided to give him a pinch on the cheek which he didn't react to in the slightest.

Ki: "Jeez I haven't even gone past his nullification threshold, he's really out of it."

When she let go she noticed a bruise was left behind, something she'd never seen on him before, showing he was still mortal for the time being.

Ki: "…Well good night big brother, glad you're okay {kiss}."

Elsewhere

Na: "So was it successful?"

Ni: "Yes, I never thought we'd get an opportunity like this but if it functions properly, we may be able to have some control."

Na: "Are you sure we can rely on the research from your previous subjects?"

Ni: "Yes though that doesn't mean there's a guarantee nothing will go wrong but at the very least we can remotely execute him if we have to and if we can develop it further we'll be able to even deactivate his immortality and from there…we might be able to hack into the core's databases, unlocking knowledge beyond comprehension."

"Ma'am?"

Na: "Yes what is it?"

"General Arnolds is here to see you."

Na: "W-what's he doing here?"

"I take it you haven't seen the video yet."

Na: "Sir?!"

"You have a rather interesting operation going on here."

Na: "…"

Ni: "May I ask what it is you're doing here Arnolds? And what video are you talking about?"

"Well one of the civilians recorded your charge in combat on a phone that was confiscated, fortunately they weren't able to upload it though the footage has been shown to me an some other high ranking military officials."

Ni: "I see, so what are your thoughts?"

"Well after seeing your current charge in action, reading back over his dossier and all information relating to the Godlings and their creators, which I have to say Mr. Johannes was quit a compelling read the second time around."

Ni: "Thanks."

"I have a small proposal to make."

Na: "What would that be?"

"I think it would be best to expedite this boy's progress especially with the upcoming wave of Falling Stars and given that he is immortal, the best way to do that…is by sending him out into the field."

Na: "Wait…no…"

"That's right…we should put him in the hands of the professionals and have him fight real threat's rather than the fodder the school pits him up against and make him into a weapon."

Na: "…"

Ni: "You're not serious are you?"

"Heheh of course not, this world already has enough weapons of mass destruction as it is, no we'll continue with the current plan of cultivating him into a force to fight the Star Eaters and while we're doing that we'll also forge him into a shield to stand up against other world ending threats."

Ni: "Hm he kind of has a point."

Na: "Nick?"

Ni: "Who knows what kind of threats will come with these Falling Stars, Naoki you have to realize that for this operation to progress Kyousuke has to further develop his abilities and control over his core and, as General Arnolds suggested, in doing so we can use the progress he makes as a way of defending humanity from other potential cataclysms."

"Exactly, just like in videogames the best way to prepare him for these "boss fights" is by having him gain experience from fighting stronger enemies which unfortunately the school can't legally allow so while he's learning the basics of heroism in class he can learn how to better use his power as…A SECRET PART TIME HERO!"

Ni: "And with that you ruined it."

"Eh."

Kousaka House

Ky: "Achoo!"

Ki: "Gesundheit."

Ky: "Thanks."

Ki: "So Kyousuke you going to explain what you're doing lying out in the yard?"

Ky: "I don't know, I just had the strangest urge to lay out in the sun."

Ki: "What are you a plant now?"

Ky: "Probably, I think I'm starting to feel the sun's energy flowing into me."

Ki: "Weirdo, though being a Thermal Manipulator you do get most of your power from passive exposure to the sun and other heat sources."

Ky: "I know but this feels different than that maybe it has something to do with the mysterious powers those DSA guys were talking about, you think we should call them about this?"

Kirino thought about it and when she took a closer look she did notice that the area around Kyousuke was a bit discolored.

Ki: Is he absorbing the sunlight?

Ki: "I wouldn't worry about it."

{Ding dong}

Kirino left Kyousuke to answer the door and saw Ayase on the other side.

Ay: "Kirino!"

Ki: "Oh hey Ayase, what are you doing here? I already told you we were fine when you called earlier."

Ay: "I know but I just wanted to come over and make sure, what you guys went through had to have been traumatic."

Ki: "Nah, like I said before while we were close to the fight I didn't see much and Kyousuke was knocked out by some kind of gas for little while so he doesn't remember much."

Ay: "Where is he now?"

Ki: "Outside sunbathing, no need to worry about him."

Ay: "Okay then well since I'm already here you want to hang out?"

Ki: "Sure could use a bit of normalcy after what happened yesterday."

Kirino and Ayase went up to her room though as soon as they did two other people approached the Kousaka household.

Ky: "If this is what it's like to be a plant it's not so bad."

As Kyousuke relaxed he suddenly felt something cold on his cheek.

Ky: "Gah!"

He quickly sat upright and looked to see Kouhei and Manami there with him.

Ky: "Hey guys when did you get here?"

Ko: "Just now, so you feeling better since the attack?"

Ky: "Yeah."

Ma: "That's good, here we brought you a drink."

Ky: "Thanks."

Kyousuke grabbed the drink took a few gulps and they all moved to relax on the porch.

Ky: "So what have you guys been up to?"

Ko: "Eh, not much, been busy with soccer."

Ma: "And I'm prepping for the holiday season at the bakery."

Ko: "What about you Mr. Top-Ranked-Student?"

Ky: "Hmm, met some new…interesting people, made friends with the previous top rank."

Ma: "Really what's he like?"

Ky: "He's pretty cool despite his younger brother being an obnoxious little shit, fortunately I haven't seen much of him since kicking his ass at the tournament."

Ko: "You're starting to make your way bro, you seriously plan on being a hero when you graduate?"

Ky: "Yeah but only because I didn't have anything else picked out, why do you think I just jumped on with my sister's plan? {Gulp} Honestly my only real goal in life is to live as peacefully as possible, outside of hero work, and make a living, don't really care what I do to achieve it."

Ma: "Hmhm of course that's what you'd want."

Ky: "So what do the guys at the old school think of me now?"

Ko: "Uh, well thing is…nobody remembers you even went to our school."

Ky: "Of course."

Ko: "Though you have gotten pretty popular, there were even some superhuman students that tried to apply to CHA and other hero schools after hearing about your success, unfortunately none of them got accepted so far."

Ky: "Well that's too bad, hey we still got some daylight to burn, you two want to head to the arcade?"

Ko: "Oh yeah! I may not be superhuman but I can definitely kick your ass at games."

Ky: "Oh shut up."

Ma: "Heheheh."

They spent the rest of the day hanging out before Manami decided to leave though before Kouhei left he made Kyousuke follow him to the park.

Ky: "Alright Kouhei so what'd you need?"

Ko: "There's something you really need to see, something super cool~"

Ky: "…I swear to god Kouhei if Sena's hiding in the bushes waiting for you to jump me with another kiss I'm going to give you two black eyes this time."

Ko: "That's not it just watch."

Kouhei faced Kyousuke and closed his eyes about a minute passed by with nothing happening but then suddenly a small breeze blew by and Kouhei looked at Kyousuke to see his reaction.

Ko: "So…"

Ky: "So what?"

Ko: "Didn't you feel it?"

Ky: "Feel what?"

Ko: "This!"

Kouhei then walked right up to Kyousuke and aimed his hands at him and again Kyousuke felt a light breeze on his face but this time he could tell it was coming directly from Kouhei.

Ky: "…You? …You have POWERS!?"

Ko: "YEAH BOY!"

Ky: "How the heck did this even happen?!"

Ko: "I don't know I was just daydreaming one day and I noticed I was making the air move and after adding a little more effort I saw that I was…A WIND ELEMENTAL!"

Ky: "Huh, I always though of you as a Super Runner though still you must be a pretty late bloomer for your abilities to only manifest now."

Ko: "Yeah I have a lot of catching up to do but this is still awesome, the wind bends to my will."

{Whoosh}

Ky: "Yeah I'm sure you'd make a useful desk fan."

Ko: "Screw you, I'll just do what you did and go through some training and I'll be eligible for CHA or maybe even THA."

Ky: "As if, the Tokyo campus has much higher standards, pretty sure even the 100th rank could kick my ass from here to Hokkaido."

Ko: "Says you, I'll have you know that the highest ranked student globally is a wind elemental, I follow in his footsteps and I'll definitely hit top rank at THA."

Ky: "Heh good luck with that, but still congratulations man, you plan on being a hero."

Ko: "Nah everyone wants to be a hero these days, the market is oversaturated, if I do manage to get in I'll just use my credentials from there to land a good job, you know how many employers are willing hire a certifiable hero over any normal schmuck."

Ky: "You have a point there but given how late your powers sprouted and how weak they are now there's a chance that the organs that allow you to manifest them are defective or deformed in some way, you might want to go to a superhuman doctor to get yourself checked out before you get your hopes up too high."

Ko: "Jeez way to ruin my excitement with reality prick."

Ky: "Heh sorry, well anyways I better get home it's getting late and Kirino and I have to get back to the apartment tonight, later man."

Ko: "May my winds be with you my brother {peace}."

{Whoosh}

Ky: "Wha-oh AAUGH! That's a fart, you asshole!"

Ko: "Hehehehehe."

One week later

Two men walk down the street at night headed home from the convenience store bantering about some funny events.

"Hahaha man that's crazy."

"I know right."

"Hm? Hey what's that?"

One of the men point towards a silhouetted figure down the street ahead of them, the figure stood about five feet tall but had antlers that extended up another two feet.

"What is that?"

The confused man turned to his friend to ask him about it but when he did he saw utter fear etched all over his face.

"We have to get out of here…now, be as quiet as possible."

He began to silently rush away with his still confused friend following behind in the same manner.

"Hey what's the matter with you?"

They then duck into an alleyway and quietly duck behind a dumpster and the scared man grabs his friend's phone, turns off the sound and begins to text him.

"Uh-"

The scared man quickly but quietly put's his hand over his friend's mouth to silence him before sending him the message and the notification silently popped up.

|Keep quiet if you want to live, what we just saw was a Spiteful Deer, you've heard of those right?|

|Wait you mean those monsters than can create illusions and actively hunt humans?!|

|Yes, I've encountered them before and they are as intelligent as they are dangerous, I already sent a report to the authorities.|

|Then why'd we stop to hide? There's a shelter just up the street.|

|There's no way we would've made it.|

|Shit man, what should we do?|

|Hide, stay as quiet as possible and hope it doesn't find us.|

Suddenly they heard a noise from the streets.

{Clomp, clomp, clomp}

Though they couldn't see the street from behind the dumpster they could see a shadow on the alley wall projected by the street light, they both sat in frightened silence praying to god that it walks away but suddenly the shadow just disappeared before the street lights flickered out.

|What just happened?|

The man waited for his friend to respond but after waiting a minute he turned to see he was gone. His eyes widened in fear which only increased now that he was alone and in a panic he ran out onto the street to try and make it to the nearest safe place but as soon as he did the street light came back on revealing his friend laying in the street with a humanoid creature crouched over him biting off pieces of his flesh.

"…"

The Spiteful Deer stopped and turned to him, it had a head and lower body that looked exactly like a deer's but it's upper body was humanoid, in place of it's front hooves were hands with two fingers and a thumb with large claws, it's muscular structure looked wiry and it's eyes were yellow and brown with round pupils like that of a human.

"AaaaAAAAAAH!"

"Grrrrr."

The monster then bared its teeth before disappearing and the street light went out again, the man didn't waste any time as he ran towards the shelter just up the street but before he got ten feet he was knocked to the ground and the Spiteful Deer was about to use a large bloodied stick it had to knock him out but just before it did someone kicked it in the face knocking it backwards.

"Target confirmed as Spiteful Deer."

The man lifted his head up to see a man in casual wear and soon after he said those words the monster warning system became active.

"Warning monsters detected in the area confirmed as Spiteful Deer Cat M, please avoid going outside if possible and head directly to the any personal or public shelter."

As the voice blared the man engaged the deer as it charged at him before quickly disappearing but a second later the man quickly dodged to the left then aimed his hand and snapped his fingers, the sound amplified to the point that it cratered in the wall next to him and immediately after that the deer rematerialized but with its head completely liquified and it fell to the ground in a splatter.

"Jeez this had to happen in the middle of happy hour."

Then a woman came up pulling on a glove with what looked like metal claws on the fingertips.

"Yo you got three on your four o'clock!"

The woman then quickly turned around swiping her gloved hand at what appeared to be nothing but air but suddenly three more Spiteful Deer appeared and they all fell to the ground in a bloody mess, their bodies cut clean through.

"Hey you hear anymore?"

"A group of four to the North stalking more prey and another group of six to the West currently in combat with other heroes and eight others scattered about the area."

"Then we better get this guy to safety, what about the other one."

"…He's alive but barely."

"Thank god, it's a good thing you heroes came along when you did."

"We're not just heroes, you're pretty lucky we happened to be nearby cause we're members of the Kanto Defense League, Tokyo division."

"Whoa."

"Now come on let's get you to safety."

The woman guided the scared man to the shelter while the other KDL member recovered the other civilian.

"Thank you, thank you so much…is my friend…"

"He's a little messed up but he'll be fine, we'll get him taken care of, you're lucky these things prefer to eat their prey alive."

"Yeah…lucky."

The man entered the shelter and the door closed, a minute later the male KDL member came carrying the unconscious man.

"I stopped the bleeding and he's stable for now but the poor guy barely holding on, I'll take him in and watch over him until the paramedics arrive, will you be okay on your own?"

"Yeah, you said that group on the hunt was to the North right? I'll just head there then let the other heroes take care of the rest."

"Alright then, be careful, I'll join you when I can."

"Later."

AN: I think I'm starting to prefer Third Person POV for this type of story, anyway that ends this chapter and I hope to see you guys next chapter.
