My name is Melia I am 7 years old. Most could say I'm pretty normal but is having Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha for older brothers really normal? 11. Mission Suspense

An: I don't own Naruto if I did Sasuke wouldn't be such an asshole, Naruto would date Hinata, Ino would date Shikamaru or Choji since they've delt with her this long.

Last time:

We said goodnight and I told her she'd never go back to being alone if she didn't want to. That she could stay here for a while. She liked the idea, she fell asleep before I did. Before I fell asleep I thought of what she told me Sasuke said to her. Meli-chan watched out for me, I'm going to watch out for her. I got an idea for tomorrow but I doubt she'd like it.

The Next Day...

Naruto's POV...

I woke up, showered, changed, ate, and left before Meli-chan woke up. I left a note telling her I had to meet my team.

At the bridge...

I was the first one there. Suddenly I heard Hinata-chan walking with Sasuke. We waited two hours with Sasuke and I going into a staring contes, and Hinata-chan started getting nervous.

"Yo!"

"You're late Kakashi-sensei!"

"Sorry, but there was this woman and she naturally wanted to go dancing with me."

"You might want to get better at lying."

"Alright team, time to train. Me and Hinata-chan, Sasuke-kun and Naruto-kun. We'll spar."

little did Kakashi know he'd be regretting that decision.

I couldn't wait to make that bastard pay for hurting Meli-chan. I wasn't gonna loose to him this time.

Later...

I can't believe I lost. At least we finally got a c-ranked mission. I can't wait! Meli-chan should be alright, though hopefully no one will break in while I'm gone. But the chances of everyone not breaking in are slim. I'm sure she can handle herself, though I don't want anything to happen to her because of me.

Melia's POV...

"W-wel-welcome h-ho-home Naruto-kun."

"Hey, I got a c-ranked mission tomorrow."

"I'll he-help you pack later on. I k-know what you'll need. N-now come eat."

"I'm not hungry."

"It's homemade ramen." I laughed as he was at the table seated before I could blink.

As we ate Naruto told me how he lost to Sasuke and accidentally slipped his little plan to me.

"Naruto!" he jerked back hands flung up defensively. "That w-was sweet o-of y-you, but it's alright. I don't want you to get back at him for me."

"Melia... Fine but if he gets arrogant again I'll beat him in a spar."

"You know, when it comes to my brothers I have one rule. That no matter what they do, or what they say, I'll love and protect them anyway."

"You're too nice to him you know that?" he chuckled

"You're probably right. But he's my Sasuke-nii. You're turn for dishes."

"Fine. Shadow clone jutsu. By the way you said 'brothers' what happened to your othr brother?"

"My other brother is Itachi-nii. I'll tell you about him later."

"Ok. Now what do I need to pack?"

"Well grab a bag for starters. Second, what's the mission?"

"Escort mission. We're bringing this one guy who's a bridge builder to the land of waves."

"You'll need 3 to 4 shirts. Go with your black tank tops. You can just hold onto the jacket. You'll need a scroll or two just incase your lazy sensei forgets somthing. Here these will work."

I handed him a small scroll. I couldn't help but think something was strange. Itachi and Shisui always stressed how listening to my instincts was important so I did what I thought was best.

Itachi's POV...

'Oh Itachi...' I smirked as my imoto called me, in a oh so too sweet voice that ment I'm already defeated.

'Hai? What can I do for you.'

'Remember Naruto? Uzumaki Naruto? He has a mission to the land of waves tomorrow and I feel like something's not being completely said.'

'You think something is going on in Wave?, and want me to check it out? Alright.'

'Thanks Itachi.'

"Konan-sama?"

"Hai?"

"Gomen but I have to borrow Kisame for a few hours. Melia wants me to check out wave country. She thinks something's not right."

"Nagato-kun and I heard about a man there named Gato. He's been terrorizeing the land of waves for years now. He's just about compltely detroyed the financial structure of that country. He has a small gang of thugs and hired missing nin."

"Any idea on some of the ninja's names?"

"The Deamon Brothers for starters. Then there's the deamon of the hidden Mist village Momochi Zabuza."

"Great... If I tell Melia she'll go with them and I won't be able to help if she needs it."

"Just because you can't go doesn't mean I can't send someone else for you Itachi-san. I'll send Kisame-san and Deidara-san."

"Konan-sama...?"

"I told you to take care of your sister and that's what you're starting to do so I'm going to help you this time."

"Arigato."

"Let's find the bakas."

We searched three rooms until we heard them in the kitchen.

"Deidara-san, Kismae-san." Konan-sama called out

'We're either a) dead or b) we're dead' they probably thought.

"I have a mission for you. I need you two to go to the land of Wave tomorrow. Don't cause trouble." she told them knowing Deidara-san's 'habbits'.

"Why un?"

"Because my sister will be there following one of her friends, she'll probably try to help out in secret."

"So your mission is to protect Melia-chan from the shadows without letting everyone know that you're there." Konan-sama finished

"Hai."

'Now that's taken care of. Melia-chan. A man named Gato's been terrorizing the land of Waves. He has missing nin, and thugs for hire under his control.'

'Knew something was wrong. Arigato nii-san. Love you.'

'Love you too. Be safe, and I know that you're going to go there.'

'No I'm not. Je ne.'

Melia's POV...

"Besides your shirts and the scrolls, 3 to 4 pairs of pants. You'll need some medical supplies. What do you have?"

"Alot of gauze, medical tape, wrappings."

"Any needles or thread?"

"No. I don't even know how to sew."

"I'll teach you. I have some needles and thread. Any asprin?"

"Ya I've got some in the bathroom."

"Go get it." he disappeared around the corner and came back with a bottle of asprin.

"Ok let's see. Here this will work for a med. case." I unsealed a small case just big enough for everything. "Shirts and pants check. Emergency scrolls check. Med kit with bandages, wraps, asprin, sewing kit check. You'll need your kunai and shuriken. And you'll have to pack papper bombs, maybe smoke bombs."

"This is alot of stuff. But I guess it'll be handy."

"Here."

"A demon shuriken?"

"I have a few and any ammunition comes in handy. Now get some sleep I have to head over to my place but I'll be back in an hour."

"Alright."

My house...

Man things got dusty. "Clone Jutsu."

my clones cleaned up the house dusting, cleaning the floors. I got my bag ready. I packed gauze, bandages, medical tape, asprin, and a sewing kit into my medical kit. Four pairs of black tanks, a dark red shirt, a purple hoodie, and a blue hoodie. Four pairs of pants, two black two dark blue. I grabbed my shuriken holster, a water bottle a mask and hood. I sealed my extra weapons, a tent, pillows, blanket and money. I grabbed my old fingerless gloves and packed my new ones. My new ones like the old ones had metal plates. They had some ninja wire hidden in the metal plate. I sealed the bag and placed it in my pocket. I looked around the house. "Wow they really can clean. Time to head back."

Naruto's Apartment...

I entered the house after locking the door. Checking for people who might try to break in I went to sleep.

The next day...

I woke up, showered and got dressed. I wore Itachi's (at this point mine.) old gloves with the metal plates. I wore a black tank top that every ninja wore, with ninja mesh under it and a dark blue coat over it. I also wore black shorts. I woke Naruto up and we ate. Looking out at the still dark streets it was about 5:45.

"Better h-head o-out Naruto."

"Je ne. I'll be back in no time. Dattebayo."

He left I locked the door behind me as I left after him. I'm not letting him have all the fun.

Later...

The client is a drunk sod. I almost laughed myself out of the hiding place I was in when Naruto got a hold of his sake bottle and poured the contents out before Sasuke smirked and lit it on fire. "Well this is going well. Naruto-kun, Sasuke-kun!"

"What Sensei? He started it. He shouldn't have called Hinata-chan weak."

"I'm only going to say good boys." he eye smiled. "I'm glad you remebered what I taught you."

Flashback... 2 days ago...

Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata had been training on team work. Kakashi had been drilling them on how working together was important. And how to treat a lady,... especially after Hiashi Hyuga came by during training. It wasn't that bad just his usual behavior. He was reading Icha Icha. Naruto gained points that day with the Hyuga clan head. He stood up glared at his sensei and hit at the book or tried before falling on his face from Kakashi side stepping away.

"Do you need something Naruto-kun?"

"Hai. How about we start with you putting that smut away!" 'Thankfully Melia taught me about how to treat a lady. Better than how Sakura-chan would have taught me. Melia told me how Sakura-chan would have hit me until I learned.' Melia was patient with me. She gave me subtle hints here and there, like don't say anything gross around a lady in public. Bow to a lady or clan head. Open a door for my female team mate, wait for her to sit first. Pay attention to how she acts, ask her what's wrong if she seems sad. The biggest tip was 'Try to get your perverted sensei to read that book less around Hinata-san.'

"This is perfectly good literature."

"Ya right. Put that book away it's not right to read in front of a girl."

"He's right Kakashi-sensei." Woah Sasuke was backing me up.

"So you two will stick up for your team mate no matter what?"

"Hai." we both told him

"I guess you have been paying attention to my lectures. Good job."

End Flashback...

I remember how Hinata's otou-san walked up to Kakashi-sensei after and hit his precious book away. Before poking him alot causing Sensei to fall twitching. Then walked over to me and Sasuke and thanked us for looking out for his daughter.

"Tazuna-sama? As you see my boys are protective of their team mate so I would ask that you refrain from insulting her. And I assure you that they are all capable of protecting you from any mercinaries."

"Fine."

'Baka.' Naruto and Sasuke thought.

"Let's get go-going." Hinata-chan said.

'Lately I've been noticing how Hinata-chan acts around me and others. I'm nervous to get close because she always acts nervous around me. She's like that with everyone but around me she faints.'

"Na-Naruto-kun, Sasuke-kun. Arigato for earlier."

"It's no problem Hinata-chan."

"Hai, you're our teammate." I was surprised Sasuke actually talked out of what I like to call 'emo mode' and said something nice. I looked back to Kakashi-sensei to see him not paying attention to us.

Kisame's POV...

Itachi-san woke me and Deidara-san up this morning.

Itachi stood over us while we slept. We fell asleep in the living room and we're heavy sleepers while at base. He tried to wake us up and when his patience ran out lifted his leg and brought it down and kicked the two of us.

"Wake up! Anbu found us!"

"Itachi get my sake Deidara-san get your clay let's get out of here." I see Itachi smirking

"That was cruel and unusual even for you!"

"It's good to know that Melia will be able to keep you two in line. Because if you thought that was curel, you don't want to know what she'll do to you. Now get going."

We packed and took off. It'd take us some time but we should get there before Melia-san does. We made it to where Melia would have a hard time getting across and waited for her.

Melia's POV...

I watched as Naruto and Sasuke fought off the deamon brothers. Naruto was poisioned and stabbed the wound. Luckily though Hinata bandaged it up before he lost too much blood. I had to fight off a glare though when I saw Kakashi-sama hiding in the trees above after useing a substitution jutsu to advoid being chopped up. Honestly what sensei allows their students to fight missing nin on their own? It's not the last war anymore. Kakashi-sama decided to keep going saying that the Hokage would just bill him later and Tazuna-san saying "That was an option?" either way they camped out. I went on ahead.

Naruto's POV...

Kakashi-sensei left us to fight two ninjas alone. Stupid sensei, and he didn't bother helping us at all. What happened was there were two rougue ninjas hiding in a puddle in the raod using a genjutsu. I saw Hinata-chan look at me and I had a feeling something was wrong. I knew something was wrong when two chains shot out of the water, wrapped around Kakashi-sensei, then proceded to tighten around him and chopped him up. At first we thought he was dead but we didn't get the chance to find out for sure because we had to fight the deamon brothers. Hinata, Sasuke and, I all got into Manji formation. They came right at me and I froze until I snapped out of it by the shout of "Naruto-kun!" by Hinata-chan I used shadow clones to guard Tazuna-san. The three of us then began to pumel the deamon brothers. I sent one clone with Sasuke to take on one of them while I went with Hinata-chan. I distracted him with some shuriken and kunai. While Hinata activated her Bakyugan the guy we were facing managed to cut me a few times with his chain and sickle. Hinata then shouted out "Gentle fist, Eight trigrams 32 plams! 2 plams, 4 plams, 8 plams, 16 palms, 32 palms." She counted as she hit him and by the end he was down. Then we went over where Sasuke and my clone were finishing up the other guy.

"Good job you three." Kakashi-sensei was up in a tree.

"Hey Naruto, are you hurt? Scardy cat. Man you're worthless." Damn Sasuke

"Naruto I'm impressed though you were cut and those blades have posion on them. Let me see. We'll have to get the posion out before it takes effect." I pulled out a kunai and stabbed my hand.

"I swear that I will never freeze up against an opponent again."

"Naruto... While that was impressive if we don't pull that kunai out and stop the bleeding you'll die of blood loss."

"Naruto-kun if it was posion I-I have some-some cream that might-might have helped."

"Really?" Sensei asked

"Hai, I've-I've been studying herbs and-and plants and what they can be used for. I-I like to make my-my own medical cream. He-here Na-Naruto-kun this should help." After Kakashi-sensei looked at it he let Hinta-chan place some of the cream she made on my hand then wrapped it in a bandage.

Melia's POV...

At the village...

I couldn't swimm across because it was too far, I didn't know how to walk on water so I had to find some way to get across. I sensed a familiar chakra signature and walked to it.

"How do people not find you easier? Anyone have a way across?" I asked

"Hey princess. Ya we've got a way across un."

"I missed you two." I told them as I came closer.

"We missed you too. Deidara-san did you finish making it yet?"

"Almost un."

"Don't make this one explode. Itachi would kill us if you made it explode."

"Ya besides we don't want to alert everyone of our presence."

"Don't worry un. It's finished un." he applied chakra and a giant bird appeared.

"Cool. Can you teach me how to do that?"

"Sure un. Hop on, this will take us to the land of waves."

I tried to get on only to miscalculate the distance and fell back, luckily Kisame-san caught me and pulled me up.

"Arigato."

"Don't mention it." we flew across and landed in a forest.

When we arrived we set up the tents and slept.

The next day...

Naruto's POV...

We woke up and headed out. We boarded a small moter boat and when we were almost there he killed the engine and started to row. Tazuna-san told us what was going on in wave and we continued the mission.

We were almost there we had be walking in the woods and I knew someone was following us. It was nerve wracking. I heard a noise and threw a kunai at it. I looked at the fur I played in the woods back home enough to know that a rabbits fur in summer was brown not white. 'Substitution jutsu.' I backed up kunai in hand towards Tazuna-san. "Kakashi-sensei? Based on the rabbits fur this wouldn't be a rabbit used for a substitution jutsu would it?"

'This kids smarter than people wanna believe, although he did stab him self to get the poison out.'

"Manji formation. This next guy won't be a push over. He's in a new class from the last two."

Sasuke and Hinata backed up and guarded Tazuna-san with me.

"Zabuza Momochi. Deamon of the Mist, and member of the seven mist swordsmen. You can come out of hiding now."

"Very well." a creepy voice said

"Duck!" The order was given and we listened

Next a man appeared on the sword, we had just dodged, now stuck in a tree. Kakashi-sensei took over the fight. Until he was captured then we had to save him. No way did we stand a chance at completing the mission with out him. Besides he still hasn't taught us anything cool yet. (An; sorry Naruto is still Naruto cause he's the best.) Sasuke and I were able to work together for once and break Kakashi-sensei free from Zabuza-sans water prision jutsu. We got to Tazuna's house fast after a hunter nin appeared, took Zabuza away and Kakashi-sensei passed out from chakra exhaustion.

Melia's POV...

I woke up to the smell of cup ramen. I didn't mind it since I didn't have to cook.

"Hey Kisame-san?" he looked at me nervously. "Remember how I told my nii-san that if I were to spar with you then you might be able to help me fix what I was doing wrong?"

He saw where I was going. "I see, let's get to it."

I passed him a normal katana and gave him a look saying 'I wanna know what I'm doing wrong so I can help my friend, not be killed by you.'

He and I sparred a bit and I got use to his speed, then gradually he got faster and I adjusted again.

"You learn quick un."

"Thanks Deidara-san. Itachi always said there is no better teacher than experience."

"So your gonna help your brother after everything he's done?"

"He's my family. Family should always protect each other. Anyone hungry?"

The sounds of stomachs rumbling coud be heard as we made food and ate. We continued to practice after until I could almost keep up with Kisame-san at 1/10 speed.

Naruto'S POV...

Kakashi-sensei woke up the next day. He informed us that Zabuza-san was still alive. He told us he'd teach us a new technique. We got ready and left for the woods.

"Now I want you three to climb these trees."

"Big deal I can climb this tree with one hand tied behind my back." 'Both hands if I was alone.'

"Without useing your hands."

"How-how do we do-do that Sensei?" Hinata-chan asked

"Gather chakra on the souls of your feet. You'll want a head start at first but eventually..."

He stopped talking as he walked right up the tree. He threw kunai at our feet as he came down. "Use those kunai knives to mark your progress. Then try to pass the highest mark on your tree."

Minding what Melia asked me I didn't take off at first. I let myself fall back down and get a little higher each time. Hinata-chan got to the second branch on her first shot. Man is she awesome. I saw her looking at me.

"Something wrong Hinata-chan?"

"N-no. I-I ju-just think you-you're doing great."

"Hey what about me?" Guess Sasuke didn't like not getting attention

"You-you're doing good as well."

"Just good. I've gotten higher than him. He's still a dope."

"If I'm still a dope does that mean you're still a bastard with a hundred foot pole up your ass, teme?"

"Hn, your such a looser. You'll never be as good as me. I'm an Uchiha. I'm better than you."

"Oh realy? Come back down we'll see who can climb their tree the highest." I said following everything Melia told me that I can do.

Flashback before the mission began...

Naruto's POV...

"Naruto can you do me a favor?"

"What do you need?"

"It's about you and Sasuke. You already know how to walk up objects like trees and walls or walk on ceilings. Sasuke doesn't so if you learn from your sensei don't let him know that you can. Pretend you don't know, act so they'll believe it."

"Why would I do that?"

"So if he starts saying he's better before he's really good at it, you can challenge him and win."

"Ok, I promise."

End Flashback...

"Fine but don't complain when I win."

"GO!" I charged up the tree without a running start. Sasuke made it half way then dropped. I made it all the way up the tree thanks to all the extra training from dropping down.

"So what did you say about you winning?" he was mad now

"One more time. I let you win that one to help your pride. "

"Fine." he barely made it half way this time

"Let's go eat. You're low on chakra." he didn't look happy but followed me anyway.

After I ate I decided to try and find Melia. Sasuke kept trying to make it up the tree.

Melia's POV...

I had finished practicing with Kisame-san and got changed.

"Kisame-san Deidara-san. I have a friend I have to go meet. I'll be back in a bit."

"Be careful un."

"Later princess."

I left for a clearing to meet Naruto.

"Meli-chan."

"Hey."

"Can we train? All Kakashi-sensei had us do was tree climbing."

"Did you hold back till Sasuke challenged you?"

"Hai."

"And...?"

"He looked like an ass. Oh how the overly confident fall."

"Excellent. So what do you need?"

"Any other jutsus you can teach me?"

"Let me think. What has your sensei been teaching you?"

"Nothing. He's had us do a bunch of D-ranks and work on teamwork."

"Who are your enemies?"

"Zabuza Momochi, and a guy in a Anbu mask."

"Anbu? Then you don't have to go against Zabuza."

"The Anbu carried him away instead of killing him on the spot."

"That means he's working with Zabuza. Any possible weapons you saw them use?"

"Kakashi-sensei said what the Anbu used was senbon."

"Senbon are used by Anbu but mostly hunter ninja as paralyzers from what I remember. Since senbon are so thin it makes them hard to use to kill. However they are small enough to hit pressure points and, or paralyze who they're chaseing, making it easier to capture them. Especially since they can be thrown to make a far distance so if someone's running and is far ahead of Anbu the Anbu can paralyze them with senbon, the runner can't move Anbu can close the gap capturing the runner."

"But this Anbu killed Zabuza at least Kakashi-sensei believes it was temporary."

"Let me guess hit the neck, no pulse?"

"Hai."

"Damn."

"How do you know all this?"

"My oldest brother Itachi. He was the captian of the Anbu black ops. I used to follow him into Anbu head quarters. He and my other nii-san Shisui taught me and Sasuke when we were little. Hanging out around Anbu headquarters I learned a few things. Like the main purpose of some weapons, things about hunter nin and Anbu are two things I learned watching and hanging out in Anbu hq. I'm going to teach you how to block senbon."

"How?"

"I have a whole bunch of different weapons. I'm going to throw them you have to block them with two kunai then only one. Ready, set, go." I pulled out my senbon and threw them. Naruto ran from them. "Naruto! If you wanna beat your enemy you'll have to use your weapons. Running like that makes it easier for the enemy to hit you. Pull out two kunai when I start to throw senbon at you. Go again." I threw more senbon at him and he pulled out two kunai and jumped back. I nodded and tnrew more at him. He blocked most of them but I still hit him. I'd have to heal him later so Kakashi of the sharingan won't notice all the pin holes in him. I threw more and he deflected more. We kept practicing until he blocked half, I showed him where to not let the senbon hit him. He left after he healed due to most likely Kyuubi's chakra. I had him fall out of a tree a few times to cover up the holes in his clothes. He protested but I told him it was either that or Kakashi-san finds out and I'm hunted and interrogated for information. He quickly did as asked to spare me from torture with the vey minimal of complaining.

"You mean people are actually tortured?"

"Hai Naruto. It's like what the villagers used to do to you but several times worse. They're interrogaters who are trained to torture people. Sometimes if they're a mind specalist they'll just search your mind. Other times, the people who do it will chain you right side up from a cieling, upside down, or to a table or chair. The actual torture can go from being cut and sake poured on it, to looseing limbs or being stabbed in different places."

"I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I'll do it."

"Arigato."

He finally headed back as it was almost midnight.

Naruto's POV...

I finally made it back to Tazuna's and his daughter Tsumami-sans. Tsunamis son came and asked what the point of me training was. That I'd be killed by Gato. That I didn't know what pain or suffering was. So I snapped.

"Shut up. It's not gonna be like that me. It's not gonna be bad forever."

"No, why don't you just be quite. I can't stand you. You don't know anything about our country you're just butting in always laughing and playing around you don't know what it's like to suffer and be treated like dirt."

"Listen to yourself winning an complaining like some sorry little victim you can wimmper all day for all I care your nothing but a weak, spinless coward. Stop whining about your problems and do something about it." he ran crying I saw Hinata appear around the corner and come near me.

"It's-it's alright Naruto-kun. He-he does-doesn't know a-about your past."

"I know I was hard but he has to grow up and accept that nothing in this world is easy."

"I-I know."

Inari's POV...

I went on the roof where I saw their teacher.

"You're wrong. Naruto grew up hated by everyone in the village he was raised. He raised himself since he was young. He was shunned, hated, dispised, however he still decided to swear to protect those around him. He wants to be hokage one day, so he trains hard, and doesn't give up. He used to cry until one day he just decided to do something about it. He's a unpredictable knuckle head ninja but he's going to be a remarkable shinobi."
