A/N: Hi everyone! Here's another chapter! This one leans more towards the fluffy side, which is good because there is LOTS of angst and feelings type stuff coming. Again, I'll try to space some of it out, but I make no promises.

Thanks to everyone who followed/favorited and to david davies 5851 for reviewing! And I guess you'll just have to wait to find out why Elytra asked Obi-wan that question in the last chapter...

Anyways, here you go!

Disclaimer: I don't own Star Wars, which is why Episode IX isn't coming out until next year. *cries*

*Ahsoka's POV*

We spent most of the night driving around, often right by Elytra's apartment to see if her mom had left. Then we would be free to go back and sleep. It was an unspoken agreement between us that since we would not be able to switch with Elytra, we wouldn't sleep until she could. I'm almost certain I saw her look relieved when we declined her offer to let us doze off for a while.

Sometime around 3 in the morning, when the sky had just begun to get ever so slightly lighter, Elytra headed back to the apartment. She mumbled something about that being the time her mom usually left for work. I was grateful we were able to go back. Not just for me, but for Elytra. Driving all night had taken a greater toll on her than the rest of us, not to mention how unsettled she still seemed by that argument with her mom.

I decided I'd ask her more about it in the morning. Over the course of the time we'd spent here, I'd come to think of her as a friend. We shared lots of laughs and liked being around her. Something about that conversation clearly seemed to bother her more than she'd care to admit, and as her friend, I'd like to try and help her through it. But now wasn't the time for that. Elytra needed her sleep, and if I was being honest with myself, so did I.

I stifled a yawn. I figured I might as well catch up on all the sleep I missed due to the war. Who knows when I would get another chance like this? Master liked calling it "taking advantage of the situation," much to Master Obi-wan's amusement.

Elytra ushered us back into the apartment before heading to the bedroom and immediately collapsing on a pile of pillows, not even bothering to change out of her clothes. Padme covered her up before going to change her clothes along with the rest.

A few minutes later, I had curled up on the floor with Elytra on one side and Anakin on the other. It was Padme's turn on the bed tonight, but I didn't really care. The blankets I had seemed like the comfiest thing in the galaxy, both galaxies for that matter, and my eyelids felt heavier and heavier until I finally drifted into the world of sleep.

I woke late the next morning. Everyone else was up and moving around. I stood up and walked out of the bedroom, blinking the remnants of sleep from my eyes. If I remembered what Elytra told me about weeks here, then it should be a Saturday. Which meant Elytra had no school for the next two days. Perfect time to be able to talk to her.

I made my way to the living room, where Anakin and Padme sat on the couches watching a holo. Obi-wan was probably in the kitchen drinking his morning tea. Everyone was still in their pajamas, so I didn't feel as bad about waking up later. I sat down on the couch next to Anakin. "Hey, Snips, Nice of you to finally wake up!" he greeted. I grinned before sticking out my tongue at him, to which he replied by sticking out his own.

"I swear, somedays you act like a bunch of 5 year olds," Padme said, shaking her head and chuckling to herself. We both smirked at her.

"Well, at least I have an excuse," I replied, 'I'm only 14 and technically still a kid. My master, however, he has absolutely no reason for why he's like this."

He snorted. "Actually I do have a reason, Snips. It's called 'it's fun and it annoys people.'

"I can attest to the truth in that statement," Master Obi-wan said, voice resonating from the kitchen.

"You know you love me, Master!" Anakin called back. Obi-wan could be heard walking down the hallway, mumbling something that sounded suspiciously like "I swear, he's going to be the death of me." I covered my mouth to hide my laughter before reminding myself of what I wanted to do this morning.

"Where's Elytra?" I asked.

Padme pursed her lips. "Last time I saw her, she was heading towards the other bedroom. She looked like she was talking to someone."

"I heard her yelling at whoever she was talking to," Anakin added, sending me a glance that told me all I needed to know. She was talking with her mom. I nodded in response and got up from my spot, walking into the kitchen. I grabbed something to eat and sat down at the counter.

If I listened closely, I could make out Elytra talking to someone down the hall. She was quiet, obviously not yelling, but the heightened hearing my montrals gave me was just enough to make out a few words. Things sounded okay at the moment, so I focused on something else. I didn't want to intrude any more than I already had.

By the time I finished eating, Elytra had stepped out of the other bedroom and walked towards her own bedroom. I followed her in. Master Obi-wan had made his way back into the living room by then, so it was just me and her. Elytra was sitting on the bed, book and paper sitting across her lap and a writing utensil in her hand. I sat down across from her, careful not to disturb whatever she was doing. She looked up at me once before going back to making lines on the paper. In fact, it looked like she was… drawing?

"What're you doing?" I asked.

"Drawing."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, I figured that out. But why?"

She shrugged. "I don't know. It just always helps me calm down and think, I guess."

I was silent for a few seconds, carefully choosing what I wanted to say. "Is… everything okay?"

She froze for an instant before putting the drawing down. "I guess." She said, finally looking at me. She shrugged again. "I talked to my mom. Made up with her. I'm still kind of angry about the way she kicked us out like that, but it's in the past now. No need to dwell on it." She picked up the drawing again and continued what she was doing.

Inwardly, I let out a sigh. It was good that she made up, of course, but I still felt like there was something bothering her. She obviously didn't want to talk about it now, and I wouldn't push her. So instead I smiled and leaned over her shoulder, gazing at her drawing. "What is it?"

She paused and thought about it for a minute before giving me an answer. "It's you." And now that I looked more closely at it, I could see the beginnings of a body and a face that had markings almost exactly as mine. I glanced at her questioningly.

She smiled in return. "I just started making lines on the paper. Then you came in and for some reason I started drawing your facial markings where a face would be. And then I figured that if I had done that much, I might as well keep going."

I nodded and she turned back to the drawing. I watch as her hand mesmerizingly moved across the paper, filling in lines and other details as she went along. The body started taking on a more solid shape and the clothes I normally wore soon appeared. Elytra drew without saying a word, erasing a few lines here and there and her brow furrowing when she got to a part that seemed to give her trouble. Her hand made its way up to the head and the finer details of the face fell in to place like pieces of a puzzle. The montrals and headtails gave her no problem, even though I was pretty sure she wasn't used to drawing them. She even shaded in some parts, seemingly adding color to the drawing, yet I knew it remained in greyscale. She finished it off my writing my name in a bubbled Aurebesh font and signing it at the bottom.

She lifted the paper off the book in her lap and gazed at it. "It's not bad," she said. and I couldn't help but gape at her.

"Not bad?" I exclaimed. "Elytra, it's amazing!" And it was. She had done an amazing job and the final product looked very realistic, perhaps a bit cartoonish. But there was no doubt about it, it was her.

Elytra looked sheepish. "I guess. But I screwed up on the eyes a bit and I probably could have done a better job with the shading…"

"No, it's perfect!" I replied. "I love it, I really do! Has anyone ever told you you're really good at this?" I asked, smirking.

She smirked back at me. "Oh, maybe once or twice," she replied, easily slipping into the banter.

I laughed at her response. When I turned back to her, she held out the paper. "Take it."

"Um… Are you sure?" I asked, "I mean, it's your work."

She shook her head, smiling. "Yes, I'm sure. I have plenty of other drawings I've done. Besides, this one is of you."

I took the drawing from her, tracing over the carefully drawn lines with my fingertips. When I looked up, I was positively beaming at her. "Thank you! It- It really is amazing! Thank you so much!" I pulled her in for a hug, careful to keep the drawing from being crushed or wrinkled. I felt her laughing and pulled away.

"You're welcome, Ahsoka. I'm glad you like it!" I smiled at her again before jumping up off the bed and rushing to the living room. "Guys! Guys! Look at what Elytra drew!"

Later that day, I placed the drawing in a protective cover Elytra had found for me, putting it in a spot by the rest of my things where it would be safe. I couldn't help but smile as I looked at it again, the wonderful present my friend gave me.
