Chapter 11: Overwhelming Strength! Rayzoni's True Skill
Narration: The Pokémon Hunter, Rayzoni appears before Golen and Emolga. How will they fare against this new foe?
"He made a crater that huge with just a roar…Just what in the world is he…?" Golen muttered to himself slightly frightened. "Emo." Emolga muttered.
"Gyarados is a Water and Flying-type so it already has an edge over Cyndaquil but after seeing how strong Gyarados is I'm worried that Cyndaquil really doesn't stand a chance." Golen thought to himself. "Cyndaquil return!" Golen shouted but to his surprise Cyndaquil was unable to be returned. "What happened?" Golen asked, surprised. "It's thanks to the Shadow Gem item." Rayzoni answered as he held out a dark crystal.
"Shadow Gem?" Golen muttered. "Yeah, it's an item that prevents the opponent from switching out their Pokémon." Rayzoni calmly replied.
"Say what? That's underhanded! It's not fair that you bended the rules of the battle by using that item to prevent me from changing my Pokémon while you can change as much as you want!" Golen retorted as Rayzoni ignored his words. "Don't worry, I don't intend on using more than one Pokémon to beat you here." Rayzoni replied. "Tch, if Cyndaquil can't be switched out then I guess I'll just have to battle with him, Cyndaquil, Flamethrower!" Golen commanded as the Fire Mouse Pokémon shot out a stream of red-orange flames at its opponent.
Even without Rayzoni's command, Gyarados simply tilted its head to avoid the attack. "Emolga-emo!" Emolga shouted to Golen.
"I get it, Cyndaquil use Flame Charge!" Golen commanded as the Fire Mouse Pokémon repeatedly stomped on the ground as a dust cloud formed before it emerged out of it encased in a cloak of red-orange flames. "Dodge." Rayzoni nonchalantly muttered as Gyarados avoided the attack with ease. "I can't believe how nimble it is even though it's so big." Golen thought to himself. "Gyarados, Dragon Tail!" Rayzoni commanded as the Atrocious Pokémon's tail glowed a light blue color as it attempted to strike down Cyndaquil. "Emo, emo!" Emolga shouted to Golen. "Cyndaquil use Flamethrower to dodge it!" Golen commanded as Cyndaquil used Flamethrower on the ground to propel itself into the sky.
"Alright!" Golen said in joy. "Twister." Rayzoni calmly commanded as Gyarados pointed its tail towards Cyndaquil while its tail adapted a light blue spark as it released a light blue twister towards an airborne Cyndaquil.
"It can't dodge it, Cyndaquil intercept with Flamethrower!" Golen commanded as Cyndaquil once again used Flamethrower. The two moves collided briefly but Gyarados' Twister quickly overpowered Cyndaquil's Flamethrower and sent Cyndaquil crashing through a wall into one of the buildings under construction with the wall collapsing due to the impact of Cyndaquil's crash. "Cyndaquil!" Golen shouted as he ran into the building to see Cyndaquil lay in the rubble defeated. "Cyndaquil….I'm sorry." Golen said as he recalled the Fire Mouse Pokémon back into its Pokéball.
"Is that really all you've got?" Rayzoni smugly asked Golen who walked out of the building.
"Why you….This battle still has a long way till it's over! Besides you might be going all out but I'm just getting started!" Golen declared. "Who ever said I was fighting seriously?" Rayzoni asked Golen. "Say what?" Golen said, surprised. "Darn it, here I thought he was fighting seriously but he really hasn't even been trying." Golen thought to himself, slightly distraught. "A Water/Flying Type with Dragon moves. The best choice in fighting that thing is…" Golen thought to himself as he looked at Emolga who gave him a determined stare. "You want to battle huh?" Golen asked the Sky Squirrel Pokémon who nodded to him.
"Fine then looks like you're…" Golen stopped his sentence as he saw Rayzoni call back his Gyarados. "He returned it, but why?" Golen muttered.
"It doesn't matter. Maybe I'll be safe for a while since he recalled Gyarados." Golen added along. "Safe? Heh what nonsense." Rayzoni replied to Golen and Emolga's shock.
"Come forth my true ace!" Rayzoni declared as he tossed a blue crystal like Pokéball encased in red stones into the sky.
As the Pokéball opened up it emitted a bright blue light, from the bright light appeared a quadruped Pokémon that resembled a pupal stage. Its bone structures covered its body, which formed a shell with two openings and three ridges on top. One opening was in front, revealing two yellow eyes, while the other opening was in the back. It had grey legs which were visibly protruding from underneath the shell, each with a short red stripe on the inner surface. "The Strongest Dragon finally appears, Shelgon!" Rayzoni declared.
"Shelgon?" Golen muttered. "He's done for." Zorua muttered on the top of the building. "With that Pokémon out the brat's already lost the battle." Nichole added along. "That Rayzoni knows the brat has no chance yet he still insisted on using Shelgon." Duke replied. "How shrewd." Zorua stated as the trio looked on.
"What happened? I thought you said that you only needed one Pokémon to win. Are you starting to feel pressured?" Golen confidently asked while goading Rayzoni. "I only switched out to begin with to show you how utterly hopeless your struggle to win this battle is." Rayzoni arrogantly replied as a slightly angered Golen then pulled out a Pokédex much to Rayzoni's surprise.
Shelgon, the Endurance Pokémon. Within its rugged shell, its cells have begun changing. The shell peels off the instant it evolves.
"A Dragon-type Pokémon, huh?" The only Pokémon on my team with a countermeasure against that type is this guy, Mudkip, GO!" Golen commanded as he called out the Mud Fish Pokémon. "What you used was a Pokédex right?" Rayzoni asked Golen. "Huh? Uh yeah it was. Why'd you ask?" Golen asked. "Are you competing in the Pokémon League as well?" Rayzoni asked ignoring Golen's question. "Of course I am! It's one of the things I have to do if I ever want to become a League Champion and beat the Legendary Trainer." Golen answered. "Champion, Legendary Trainer? Heh what meaningless goals." Rayzoni replied. "Say what!?" Golen angrily retorted.
"Those goals are pointless, especially since after today you won't have a future." Rayzoni answered. "Why you…Mudkip use Ice Beam!" Golen commanded as the Mud Fish Pokémon shot out a blue beam towards Shelgon.
Just like Gyarados, Shelgon easily avoided the incoming attack. "That Shelgon is fast too. But that doesn't matter, Ice Beam again!" Golen commanded as Mudkip continued to attack Shelgon who continued to dodge each Ice Beam with ease. "Emolga, emo!" Emolga shouted at Golen. "Huh? That's right, I can't afford to be so reckless and straightforward. It'll just backfire on me like it did last time." Golen stated as he noticed something about the field. "Emolga, emolga, emo." Emolga quickly shouted to Mudkip, pointing at the arena. "Mud?" Mudkip muttered as Emolga nodded at it. Mudkip then shot out another Ice Beam but unlike before it missed.
"So Emolga knows what to do, huh? Heh what a guy." Golen thought to himself. "Mudkip like what Emolga told you continue attacking with Ice Beam!" Golen commanded as Mudkip continued its assault as Shelgon avoided each attack. "Hold on a minute. Their attacks are far too inaccurate it's as if they aren't even attacking….Heh that's what they're going for huh?" Rayzoni muttered, realizing their strategy.
"Go Mudkip!" Golen commanded as Mudkip had finally encased the entire area in ice. "An ice field?" Rayzoni muttered. "Yeah! Now your Shelgon can't move as easily as it did before!" Golen stated.
"Are you sure about that?" Rayzoni replied. "What?" Golen exclaimed. "Shelgon, DragonBreath!" Rayzoni commanded as Shelgon's eyes glowed blue as it unleashed a stream of pale aqua greenish energy at Mudkip. "Mudkip use Ice Beam to create a shield!" Golen commanded as Mudkip used Ice Beam on the ground. Despite the Ice Shield created the DragonBreath easily blasted through it with the impact of the move destroying a large chunk of the ice on the field. Mudkip was sent flying by the impact of the move.
"Mudkip!" Golen shouted as he ran to catch Mudkip before it could crash into the ground. "Mudkip…" Golen muttered as the Mud Fish Pokémon laid in his arms, knocked out.
"I'm sorry I let you lose like this." Golen said as he recalled his fallen Pokémon as Emolga stared at him. "Have you finally realized how hopeless this battle is for you yet?" Rayzoni asked. "I've still got three Pokémon left! So don't count me out!" Golen retorted. "If you happen to lose all five of your Pokémon don't worry, I'll allow you to use a 6th one." Rayzoni arrogantly told Golen. "Why you…" Golen muttered. "I've got to think about who to use. Gyarados and Shelgon were already able to take out Cyndaquil and Mudkip in one hit. Gyarados would be an easy opponent to take out with Emolga but Shelgon is the real problem. Emolga's Electric attacks and Snivy's Grass attacks would have little effect on Shelgon so I've got to defeat it with either Trapinch or Timburr. But now that I think about it Shelgon isn't the only problem I have, the fact he still has all five of his Pokémon is what I should be worried about the most. Especially considering that I haven't been able to cause any damage to any of them yet. What am I supposed to do?" Golen thought to himself, confused on what to do. "Emolga, emolga-emo!" Emolga told Golen who looked at him, surprised.
"I can't understand a word that you say but I can understand your feelings perfectly." Golen told Emolga. "Timburr let's GO!" Golen shouted as he called out the Muscular Pokémon.
"Timburr I know that we haven't gotten to battle together yet but I'm counting on you here." Golen told the Muscular Pokémon. "Timburr!" Timburr said as it saluted Golen.
"Alright use Rock Slide!" Golen quickly commanded as Timburr stomped its block into the ground.
Multiple white rings appeared in the sky as multiple boulders appeared from the rings and came crashing down onto Shelgon. "Shelgon use Flamethrower!" Rayzoni stoically commanded as Shelgon released a powerful stream of red-orange flames. The Flamethrower was so powerful it burned all the rocks that were coming down from the sky into ashes. "Emo!" Emolga shouted surprised. "There's no way. To think that it stopped the Rock Slide so easily." Golen said in disbelief.
"You were trying to limit Shelgon's mobility by using the Rock Slide in a similar manner to the way you used the Ice Beam before. What a simpleminded strategy." Rayzoni told Golen.
"Simple minded or not I'm going to beat you no matter what! Timburr use Strength!" Golen commanded. Timburr began to glow as it ran towards Shelgon to hit it with its log. "DragonBreath!" Rayzoni instantly commanded as Shelgon used DragonBreath. "Timburr do it!" Golen commanded as Timburr placed its log into the ground and used that momentum to jump up into the sky thus dodging the DragonBreath. "Go!" Golen urgently shouted as Timburr continued with its attack in the sky.
"Finish it with DragonBreath!" Rayzoni calmly commanded as Shelgon used DragonBreath on the Timburr whose own momentum was used against it. "Timburr!" Timburr shouted as it went flying away and crashed into a wall. "Timburr, no!" Golen shouted as the Muscular Pokémon laid in the wall knocked out. "Even Timburr…I'm sorry." Golen regretfully told the knocked out Muscular Pokémon as he returned it into its Pokéball.
"Timburr, Cyndaquil and Mudkip… All three of them were taken out in one hit each. I've only got two Pokémon left to use while he's got all five of his with three of his Pokémon not even being called out yet and to top things off that Shelgon looks unstoppable." Golen thought to himself as his desperation began to become more noticeable.
"He's finally beginning to realize how hopeless this all is." Nichole muttered in response to Golen's desperation. "It's kinda sad that this is how the kid goes out." Duke replied. "Damn that Rayzoni stealing our prey like that." Zorua angrily muttered. "Trapinch, let's GO!" Golen shouted as he called out the Ant Pit Pokémon. "Trapinch? Aren't you ever going to call out a somewhat decent Pokémon?" Rayzoni asked while clearly not viewing Trapinch as a threat.
"Shut up! Trapinch will win this no matter what!" Golen declared as Rayzoni smiled at him, clearly not even worried about Trapinch.
"Trapinch use Signal Beam!" Golen commanded as the Ant Pit Pokémon shot a rainbow colored beam at Shelgon. "Dodge it." Rayzoni calmly replied as Shelgon side stepped the beam. "Darn it. Shelgon isn't even remotely worn out from dodging all of Mudkip and Timburr's attacks from before." Golen thought. "Emolga, emo!" Emolga told Golen. "That's right! Shelgon's fast but this move will do something about that speed, Trapinch use Rock Tomb!" Golen commanded as Trapinch launched a transparent silver boulder at Shelgon.
"Shelgon, DragonBreath!" Rayzoni commanded as Shelgon's attack annihilated the boulder with ease. But to Rayzoni and Shelgon's surprise Trapinch had disappeared.
"You're not sure where Trapinch is, huh?" Golen confidently asked Rayzoni. "Huh so you can put up a bit of fight." Rayzoni muttered as he noticed a hole in the ground. "But that doesn't matter, Shelgon shoot Flamethrower into the hole!" Rayzoni shouted as the Endurance Pokémon launched its attack. "Trapinch dodge it!" Golen commanded as Trapinch quickly came out through another hole and avoided Shelgon's Flamethrower.
"Launch another Flamethrower!" Rayzoni commanded as Shelgon attacked Trapinch again. "Use Dig to dodge it again!" Golen commanded as Trapinch quickly dug a hole and avoided Shelgon's attack once again.
"What's he doing?" Nichole asked. "I assume it's some sort of strategy." Duke replied. "Or maybe he's finally realized he can't win and he's just lost it." Zorua added along. "Good job Trapinch, if this works then we might just have a chance." Golen confidently thought as Trapinch continued to dodge each of Shelgon's attacks. "Continuously using Dig then revealing itself out in the open. I understand it." Rayzoni thought as he began to smile. "Alright Trapinch use Dig once more!" Golen commanded as Trapinch dug one more hole.
At this point the field was covered with multiple holes from each of Trapinch's Digs.
"Shelgon use Flamethrower into the hole once more!" Rayzoni commanded. "Trapinch use Dig let's GO!" Golen commanded as Trapinch emerged from the ground beneath Shelgon. "Alright do it!" Golen shouted as Rayzoni grinned. "Shelgon, Dragon Claw!" Rayzoni commanded as Shelgon quickly cancelled out its Flamethrower and leaped into the sky, effortlessly dodging Trapinch's attack.
As Shelgon leaped high into the sky the moonlight shined as its claw was covered in an aqua green blue aura. "Trapinch dodge it with Dig!" Golen commanded, worried. "Finish it." Rayzoni calmly commanded as Shelgon followed Trapinch into the hole which then proceeded to explode as Shelgon smashed Trapinch underground and continued to do so as it sent it flying out of the hole with the ground having collapsed due to the force of Shelgon's Dragon Claw.
"Trapinch, no!" Golen shouted as he ran towards a downed Trapinch who was knocked out from the powerful attack.
"A 4th one hit kill." Zorua muttered. "It's 1-on-5 now." Duke added along. "It hardly matters considering Rayzoni won't even need anyone other than Shelgon at this point." Nichole replied. "Yeah it's burning me up to see how poorly that brat is doing." Zorua said as the trio looked on at the severely one sided battle.
"Hey Kitaro, get up." Jin told the boy who awoke from his rest. "Is it time again?" Kitaro said as he got up from his bed. "Yeah." Jin replied as he took the boy out of his bedroom.
"Trapinch, I'm sorry." Golen said as he recalled the fallen Ant Pit Pokémon. "I just have one more Pokémon left." Golen muttered. "This battle doesn't have to go on. Just surrender how you are now, it's dishonorable to see you tarnish your status as a trainer in such a futile battle." Rayzoni arrogantly told Golen who remained silent. "Emolga, Emolga-Emo!" Emolga shouted at Golen snapping him out of his silence. "Emolga…" Golen muttered as he looked into Emolga eyes and noticed its motivation. "Heh that's right. I've still got one more partner left. Emolga, I need you for this battle." Golen told the Sky Squirrel Pokémon. "Emolga." Emolga nodded at its trainer, determined to fight with him and win the battle. "Emolga huh? Interesting." Rayzoni muttered.
"Emolga this all depends on you!" Golen shouted. "Emolga is finally up." Duke muttered. "I wonder if it'll stand a chance against Shelgon?" Nichole said. "That Emolga better prove its worth to us." Zorua replied.
"Alright, Emolga use Thunder!" Golen commanded as the Sky Squirrel Pokémon unleashed a powerful Thunder towards Shelgon. "Dodge it!" Rayzoni commanded as Shelgon avoided the powerful Electric attack. "It's still as fast as before." Golen angrily thought. "Shelgon hasn't even begun to show its real power yet." Rayzoni stated. "Tch Emolga use Acrobatics!" Golen commanded as Emolga began to rush at Shelgon with images of itself reflecting all over the sky. "Dodge it!" Rayzoni commanded as Shelgon avoided Emolga's Acrobatics.
"Shelgon's even faster than Emolga? This isn't good." Golen thought to himself in concern. "Emolga, emo!" Emolga shouted to Golen.
"That's right I can't afford to lose this, Emolga use Thunder on the battlefield!" Golen commanded as Emolga shot out a powerful Thunder onto the battlefield, further damaging the already destroyed area. Shelgon easily dodged all the rocks and the Thunder attack much to Golen and Emolga's chagrin. "Keep up the Thunder!" Golen shouted as Emolga continued its attack. Shelgon continued to dodge everything as the air around it began to be covered up with stones and dust.
"Just like I planned. Emolga let's end this in one hit, Iron Tail!" Golen commanded as Emolga's tail was encased in a bright light as it turned into steel and it then began to rush towards its blinded opponent.
"This is over!" Golen declared as Rayzoni smirked. "Accel Ability, Shadow Warp." Rayzoni muttered as Shelgon was encased in a dark aura right before Emolga attempted to strike it. As Emolga launched its Iron Tail both Pokémon had suddenly banished. "No way!" Golen shouted in shock. "Shelgon's Shadow Warp ability, huh?" Zorua muttered as the trio continued to watch the battle. Suddenly two dark holes appeared in the sky as Shelgon came out of the hole unfazed while Emolga came out of the other hole still in the same position as before as it crashed into the floor.
"What in the world was that?!" Golen asked. "It was the Accel Power of course." Rayzoni calmly answered. "Tell me what that is!?" Golen demanded.
"The Accel Power, the power of the future. It's a special power that developed over the years after a certain incident." Rayzoni replied. "Incident? What happened?" Golen asked as elsewhere Dr. Jin escorted Kitaro into a chamber. In the chamber was the same mechanical sphere container that he was placed in before.
"It doesn't matter what happened before." Rayzoni told Golen as Kitaro was placed in the sphere by Dr. Jin. "That incident ruined my life and one of these days I'm going to fix all the damage it caused." Rayzoni thought to himself. "Kitaro concentrate just like before." Jin told Kitaro as he turned the machine on. "AHHH!" Kitaro screamed as he soon ceased the screaming as the machine continued to do whatever it was doing before. "Tell me more about this Accel Power!" Golen demanded. "Very well, you are going to lose anyway so I guess there is no point in keeping you in the dark any longer. On the day of the incident well over five years ago, the Accel Power was spread across the entire Unova region, being infused into hundreds of Pokémon. The side effect of this strength varies from petty disobedience in the Pokémon themselves to uncontrollable fits of anger by both trainer and Pokémon." Rayzoni told an astonished Golen. "I don't know the complete origins of this strength but I know that through hunting down every source of this power I'll be able to gain all that strength and finally be able to find out the truth." Rayzoni thought to himself.
"Accel Power…If he's fighting us now than that has to mean someone in my team has that power…but who?" Golen asked himself as he blankly thought about which member of his team held this strength.
"Emolga, emo!" Emolga shouted at Golen reminding him of the current situation they were in.
"That's right. I can't afford to get lost in my own thoughts. Especially not with the well-being of my team and friends on the line." Golen said as he looked over at a motionless Carly and Tom. "Carly, Tom I'll win this battle for sure." Golen said with a determined gaze. "If you really think you can do anything than attack." Rayzoni told the black-haired trainer. "Emolga we've gotta find out how to get through Shelgon's defenses, Iron Tail!" Golen shouted as Emolga once again charged at Shelgon. "That Shadow Warp ability is dangerous, it can completely avoid my attacks and make us lose our balance. But I know that I won't be able to overcome it unless I try." Golen thought to himself as he anticipated Shelgon to once again use the Shadow Warp ability but to his and Emolga's surprise Shelgon stood in place.
"Shelgon use DragonBreath!" Rayzoni commanded as Shelgon shot a DragonBreath at Emolga. "Dodge it!" Golen shouted as Emolga quickly glided away to avoid the attack. "Alright!" Golen shouted happy that Emolga dodged the attack. "Shelgon propel yourself into the sky with Flamethrower!" Rayzoni commanded as Shelgon used a powerful Flamethrower attack to launch itself right above of Emolga. "Emo." Emolga muttered shocked. "DragonBreath!" Rayzoni commanded as Shelgon pelted Emolga right in the face with DragonBreath sending Emolga crashing right into the rubble. "Emolga, no!" Golen desperately shouted.
"Is it already over?" Duke wondered. "It can't be over yet, no way would that Emolga be taken out so easily." Zorua replied. "It better survive, if it doesn't then it would have been a waste to have even tried to catch it." Nichole stated. "This battle is over." Rayzoni smugly declared. "Congratulations on your victory, Master." Electro said. "No way! Emolga won't give up no matter what!" Golen declared as Emolga weakly attempted to stand up to no avail as it fell back on the ground. "Just give up the battle." Rayzoni coldly stated to a surprised Golen. "Surrendering now will put you and your Pokémon out of their suffering." Rayzoni added along as Golen seemed to be willing to take his advice.
"Good job persuading him master. Now their souls are all but ours." Electro replied. "Ours souls? What does that mean!?" Golen shouted. "You idiotic computer system." Rayzoni told Electro as he shut off his scope.
"Well what do you mean?" Golen asked. "Fine I guess there's no point hiding it anymore. When I hunt down Pokémon with the Accel Power the ones who I defeat in battle don't just lose the battle but their spirits as well." Rayzoni told a shocked Golen and Emolga. "Then what happens to their souls?" Golen asked. "That has nothing to do with you or even me." Rayzoni answered. "What do you mean?" Golen asked as Rayzoni ignored his question. "S-So back then….that guy and his Raticate lost their souls. In other words that means that if I lose here that me and my Pokémon lose our souls as well right?" Golen asked.
"Yeah that's right. I didn't tell you before because I didn't want you to suffer too badly but I guess the point of that lost its value as soon as I called out Shelgon to crush you. Now that you know I guess you can finally give up and just put an end to all of your suffering." Rayzoni exclaimed as Golen clenched his fists.
"No way that I'm going to give up, not with so much on the line. It can be one against five-hundred but I'll still keep on fighting if it means saving my friends. Pokémon Hunter prepare yourself because I'm going to win this battle no matter what happens to me!" Golen declared much to Emolga's shock and Rayzoni's amusement. "What empty words, with one Pokémon left against my five it's not even remotely possible for you to make any kind of comeback, especially not in the poor shape that weak Emolga of yours is in." Rayzoni replied to Golen.
"Emolga isn't weak and I won't lose!" Golen declared as Emolga finally stood up. "E-mol-GA!" Emolga shouted as it let out a powerful Thunder that pierced through the heavens.
"Emolga." Golen muttered in shock as the Dogma trio looked on amazed. "That strength it can't be." Rayzoni muttered as he turned his scope back on. "Electro!" Rayzoni shouted. "Master this is indeed the huge power from before!" Electro replied. "I see; this Emolga has the largest Accel Power reserve I've ever seen. It's definitely worth taking its strength." Rayzoni declared, being eager to defeat Emolga. "Emolga…you have the Accel Power?" Golen asked, surprised as Emolga nodded towards him. "I get it now. That explains how you were already so strong and how you were able to fight so many fierce battles before." Golen said, impressed. "That's the strength that we're going to take from that Emolga one of these days." Zorua confidently replied as the trio looked on at the battle eager to see Emolga's prowess.
"With that Accel Power we'll win no matter what, use Thunder!" Golen commanded as Emolga unleashed a powerful Thunder at Shelgon. "Intercept it with DragonBreath!" Rayzoni commanded as the two powerful attacks collided and caused a massive explosion.
"Now Acrobatics!" Golen commanded as Emolga charged at Shelgon. "Flamethrower!" Rayzoni ordered as Shelgon attacked the incoming Emolga.
"Dodge it and use Iron Tail!" Golen commanded as Emolga swiftly dodged the Flamethrower and continued to charge at Shelgon. "Emolga!" Emolga shouted as it seemed to finally get the chance to attack Shelgon. "Heh Shadow Warp!" Rayzoni commanded as Shelgon and Emolga once again disappeared and reappeared out of separate dark holes. "Don't lose your focus, Thunder!" Golen commanded as Emolga prepared another Thunder. "DragonBreath!" Rayzoni commanded as Emolga was once again hit by a powerful DragonBreath. Crashing into the rubble with great force once again, Emolga was this time paralyzed due to the secondary effect of Shelgon's devastating DragonBreath. "Emolga, no!" Golen shouted.
"That Emolga can't lose, not after against someone other than us!" Zorua shouted. "It's over Rayzoni's just too powerful, even stronger than the three of us." Duke replied.
"Don't say something like that out loud! Where's your pride in our strength?" Nichole asked. "When you're outclassed this badly, pride has little meaning in these critical situations." Duke replied as the others begrudgingly agreed with him.
"It's pointless, you've lost this battle." Rayzoni smugly told Golen. "We're still in this! If we've been able to keep you off guard with our moves till now then there's definitely still a way that we can beat you!" Golen declared as Rayzoni just smirked at him. "Do you really believe that anything you've done up to this point has actually surprised me?" Rayzoni nonchalantly asked. "What do you mean?" Golen asked. "From the very beginning I've seen through every single one of your strategies. From propelling yourself with Flamethrower to using Ice Beam and Rock Slide to manipulate the field to your advantage and even using Trapinch and Emolga's attacks as an attempt to confuse me. It would have worked against a lesser skilled trainer but in this scenario the lesser skilled competitor is you." Rayzoni declared.
"You jerk…Emolga use all of your strength in one final blow!" Golen shouted. "Emolga!" Emolga declared as it rose to its feet.
"That's good Kitaro the energy is flowing quite nicely." Jin replied as the machine suddenly began to malfunction. "What in the world is happening?" said a voice as the containment tube was shown on the monitor. "It seems that there's a problem with the Accel Power." Jin replied as the malfunctioning of the machine cut off connections between Jin and the voice. "Damn it." Jin muttered as he looked at Kitaro wail in pain as he was hurt by the malfunctioning machine.
"Alright, use Spark at your full power!" Golen commanded as Emolga was covered in a large light blue electric cloak as it charged at full force towards Shelgon.
"Accel Move, Draco Destructive Steam!" Rayzoni commanded as Shelgon began to glow an aqua light blue color as it was covered in an orb of energy. "Emo." Emolga said as its paralysis stopped it in its tracks.
Both Emolga and Golen looked on as Shelgon jumped into the sky. The moonlight shined as Shelgon began to form an orb of aqua blue energy in front of its mouth, the force of the move was so strong it made Golen and Emolga shake in fear. "Emolga, Emolga get out of the way!" Golen shouted as Emolga remained motionless having been frozen up in fear as it looked up realizing everything was over. "Damn it…It's over now. After everything that I've been through…t-this is how it ends…." Golen said as he got on his knees and looked up at Shelgon as every event that had occurred since the start of his journey flashed before his despair-filled eyes. "Finish….i!" "Master! There's an emergency!" Rayzoni was interrupted by Electro. "What is it?" Rayzoni asked.
"There's an emergency at headquarters Master!" Electro replied as he showed a malfunctioning machine hold an unconscious Kitaro. "No Kitaro! Shelgon cancel the attack!" Rayzoni declared as Shelgon immediately stopped his attack and landed back on the floor. "This battle has been canceled!" Rayzoni declared as he held the Battle Chain Disk and immediately released the energy chains.
"My name is Rayzoni, remember it because I'll be the one to take that Accel Power from you two one day!" Rayzoni declared as he flew away on his jetpack as the effects of the time and space mechanism were lifted.
Carly continued her fall and fell on the floor as the iron girders fell on the ground as it continued to rain again.
"Hey Golen what just happened? Carly asked as she walked up to him. "How in the world did you avoid the iron girders Golen?" Tom asked as he walked up to him as well. "I couldn't even do a single thing." Golen muttered to himself as his companions looked at him in confusion. "What a pathetic display. League Champion….Legendary Trainer….what's the point in those goals when I couldn't even do anything!" Golen depressingly muttered to himself as his battle had completely broken his spirit.
"G-Golen…" Carly muttered, worried. "What in the world happened to him…?" Tom muttered, also worried.
"Master, Young Kitaro was saved from the machine but he's in critical condition." Electro informed Rayzoni. "Kitaro I'll be there for you." Rayzoni thought to himself as he continued to fly away.
"This journey, this dream…what's the point." Golen thought to himself as the rain fell on his face with his sorrow filled eyes, seemingly beginning to tear up. Emolga blankly stared into the sky completely broken and shocked at what had just happened. "What a disappointing display." Nichole muttered. "Rayzoni completely destroyed the brat's will." Duke added along. "Are those guys even worth pursuing?" Zorua doubtingly asked as the trio walked away from the rooftop and left the area.
As Golen laid on the ground miserably thinking about his own weakness Kyoya looked on at him annoyed with his actions from a distance as he put his helmet back on and rode away on his motorcycle.
"I'm…worthless…" Golen muttered to himself having lost all his previous determination and spirit.
Narration: Having nearly met his end at the hands of Rayzoni, Golen and Emolga have lost all of their fighting spirit. How will they be able to overcome the traumatic events that occurred after facing off against their greatest opponent yet?
Major Events (7/22/13): Golen's Emolga is revealed to possess the Accel Power.
Golen learns about the Accel Ability and Accel Move abilities.
Golen battles Rayzoni but their battle ends as a no result after Rayzoni retreats.
