I don't know about you, but one thing that has been bugging me ever since I read VA and Bloodlines was who Dimitri's real father is. Read to find out who I think Dimitri's real father is.

"Here you go, Rose."
Looking up from the document in my lap, I saw Sonya standing before me with a glass of tea in her hand. Taking the glass from her, I took a long sip. I'm not a big fan of tea, but the kind Sonya makes is delicious. For some unknown reason, Sonya's tea always helps me be more relax and I don't get stressed out as easily.
"Thanks, Sonya," I told her. "What do you put in your tea that makes it so..." I trailed off, trying to search for the right word.
"So yummy and soothing," she finished as she sat down next to me on the couch. "It's an old family recipe. My grandma taught me how to make it when I was a little girl. I promised her that I would always keep the recipe in the family and pass it down."
I smiled at her. "I can guarantee this old family recipe will be passed down."
Taking a deep breathe, I flipped the document over and almost dropped my glass of tea in my lap. There in big black letters that are printed on the front of the document was no other than my husband's name. Dimitri's entire life story is in the palm of my hand, all I have to do is open the document and read. Looking up, I noticed everyone is too busy reading their own documents that no one was paying any attention to me.
Knowing I shouldn't read this document, that this is going against everything Dimitri and I worked so hard for. But, again this document might hold the key to finding his royal Moroi father. Both Eddie and I had the chance to meet our real fathers, maybe I could find Dimitri's. I mean he never really talks about his father, all I know about him is that was abusive towards Dimitri's mother, Olena and that he is a royal.
Of course, Dimitri knows who his father is, but I don't and probably won't know unless I read this document. Asking Dimitri about his father is totally out of the question. Taking another deep breathe, I opened up the document only to find pictures of him when he was a child and as an adult. On the back of each picture were little captions of where it was taken and what Dimitri was doing in the pictures. Under all the pictures of Dimitri, there was a lone man standing in the middle of someone's driveway.
At first glance, I couldn't figure out who the lone man was. Turning the picture around, I was completely shocked to see Nathan Ivashkov's name on the back. I kept flipping the picture back and forth, not really believing that man standing in the driveway is really Nathan. But, why would a picture of Nathan be in a documents that's based on Dimitri's entire life story? Unless, Nathan is Dimitri's really father.
I mean it makes perfect sense. Dimitri's father is a royal Moroi and Nathan Ivashkov is just that. I can't really go off a picture and a name, though. I need proof before I start making any assumptions. Taking a closer look at the picture of Nathan, I started to realize that I know the driveway he is standing on. I've walked on that same driveway multiple times. I know where this picture was taken, but the question is who took it and why?
Standing up from the couch with some difficulties, I walked over to the kitchen where Dimitri was making tiny figure sandwiches. Setting his document on the counter between us with his name facing down, I waited. When I was sure I had his attention, I began to tell Dimitri why I'm interrupting him.
"Knowing me, of course, I didn't even bother searching through the huge piles of documents," I explained slowly. "I simply grabbed the closest one to me. I had the back of the document facing me which kind of made me wish that I took the time in finding one."
"Roza, why are you telling me this?" Dimitri asked me as he wrapped his arms around my waist. "Be honest, do you feel horrible about searching through other people's documents?"
"We're suppose to look through them and find useful information to lock up Mia, and hopefully Robert too, for good," I answered, feeling guilty about what I'm going to say next. "Dimitri, I accidently grabbed your document from the piles."
Flipping the document over where we both can see his name printed in big black letters on the front of the document, I waited again. This time Dimitri starred at the document for a few minutes then turned back toward me. Smiling down at me, he kissed the bridge of my nose.
"Roza, don't feel bad for accidently grabbing my document from the piles," Dimitri said, still smiling down at me. "It's not like you meant to search for it or anything. There are tons of documents here, how in the world were you suppose to know that the document closest to you was mine?"
He's right. I didn't know that I grabbed his document before it was too late. But, he's also wrong. I don't feel bad for accidently grabbing his document from the piles. I feel horrible for reading what's inside his document without asking him first. I need to tell him the truth. He doesn't know I read it, but he sooner or later he's going to find out. I need to tell him myself before someone else does.
"Dimitri, you know every single thing there is to know about me, but I hardly know anything about you," I told him. "What little information I have about you is only what you want me know. There are things about me that no one else knows, but you."
"Roza, there's not much to say about myself," he said with caution. "You know my family, my life as a child, you've stayed at the same place where I grew up in. You know more than anyone else does-"
"But, I don't want to know more than the person standing next to me. I want to know all of you..." I trailed off, seeing how I need to directly tell him that I read his document.
"Roza, what are you trying to say?" Dimitri asked, clearly not liking where this conversation is going. "Please, don't tell you read my document?"
Taking a deep breathe, I said, "look, I know I should have asked you, but I'm tired of hearing the same answers over and over again. I also know that I should have asked you before I read your document."
"What is it you want to know so badly, Roza?" he asked, not looking one bit happy with me. "What are you going to find in there that I haven't already told you before?"
"Who your real father is," I answered, simply. "You haven't told me who he is. All I know about him is that he's a Royal Moroi. Dimitri, I want to help you find him. I want to-"
"Did you ever to stop to think that maybe I don't want you to find him? I haven't told you much about him for a reason. He's not a nice man, Roza. I need you to trust me on this when I say stay away from him."
I can't stay away from him if I don't even know the man! I wanted to scream at Dimitri, but knew it would be pointless.
"I saw a picture of Nathan Ivashkov in there." I gestured to his document. "He's standing in your mother's driveway. By the way he's clutching his fists, I'm guessing he's not happy."
Taking another deep breathe, I let Dimitri take in what little information I gathered from just looking at the picture of Nathan Ivashkov. If I'm right about this then it explains everything. Why Dimitri always acts weird around Nathan's only-known son Adrian Ivashkov. Why Dimitri doesn't like talking about his real father. But, the question is does Adrian know he has an older brother? Obviously not or else he would have said something a long time ago.
"You're right, Roza," Dimitri said at last. "Nathan wasn't happy in the picture because that was taken on the day when I finally showed him what it feels like to get hit. Now you know who my real father is. I hope you're happy."
Dimitri didn't show any signs that he was angry or upset as he walked away from me and out of our apartment. I didn't have to turn around to know everyone was starring at me; waiting for an explanation that didn't come. Picking up Dimitri's document, I went to the front door.
"I'll be back later," I called out as I rushed out the door, I didn't even wait for a response.
I quickly walked down the hallway, hoping Dimitri would be around here somewhere. I mean he couldn't have gone far unless he took off running. Pulling out my phone from my pants pocket, I called him. After the fourth ring, I hung up with a sigh. I know some people might say it's childish that Dimitri walked away, but I had no right in looking through his document that I hold in my hands. I just wish Dimitri could understand that I want to help.
I didn't want to go too far away from the apartment just in case he does come back. Plus, I know how much Dimitri doesn't like me going off by myself. Pregnant or not. I'll just peek around the corner and if he's not there, I'll go back to the apartment and wait for him there.
I wasn't surprise when I didn't find him around the corner. Sighing, I turned around and slammed right into something hard. Instincts told me to protect my stomach where my baby still is. Wrapping my free around my stomach, I looked up to see what I hit. There was a male guardian standing only inches in front of me. I knew him from somewhere, but couldn't recall where at this very moment.
"Watch where you're going," I ,some what, yelled at him. It was more like talking really loudly.
"My apologies, Guardian Belikova." I didn't like the way he said my last name at all. It completely put me on edge. "I simply didn't see you since you are pretty small in size."
"She might be small, but she can take you down without a single sweat," a familiar Russian voice said from behind the man. "Now if I were you, I would leave her alone." There was something in Dimitri's voice that made me cringe.
Who is this man? Why can't I remember where I known him? I didn't have time to think about that right now, seeing how Dimitri and this man were about ready to rip each other's heads off. Coming up to Dimitri, I placed my hand on his arm. In one swift monition, Dimitri had me behind his back with his hand wrapped tightly around my arm. Was he blocking me from the man's view? Of course, he was.
It's obvious that Dimitri knows this man and views him as a threat. There was a bunch of Russian words being thrown around between the two men, but I understand none of what they're saying. I tried multiple times to peek around Dimitri, but failed every time. Finally, after what felt like forever, the man simply walked away from Dimitri and I.
Turning to face me, Dimitri said in a low voice, "Roza, promise me you will stay away from that man."
"Dimitri, I promise."
