Author Note:- Erm, sorry for the indefinite hiatus. I've literally had zero motivation for writing stuff. Anyway, we left Green heading for Diglett Cave to head back to Pewter City. Let's go back into this. Again, sorry, and as an added note I don't know if updating this will be a regular occurrence again or just a one off for another few years or so… Don't get your hopes up, please, I'd rather not let you down.
Green wheezed for air as she sprinted through the dark tunnel. The mud squelched beneath her feet with every step, the oozing sound echoing. Ivysaur ran beside Green, enjoying the mud and hitting any Diglett that tried to get in their way with a Razor Leaf. The Grass-type Pokémon was clearly enjoying itself and enjoying the battle experience it was getting.
Finally, she made it to the ladder. She was ready to climb up and get out of the dull cave. Green returned Ivysaur to its PokéBall and grabbed into the rope ladder. She heaved herself out of the hole and stood up straight. Looking down Green sighed, catching sight of all the dirt and mud on her clothes. She brought Ivysaurs' ball up to her eyes and smiled at the Pokémon inside.
"We're nearly there," she grinned, "once we're out this cave I'll let you out again." Ivysaur cried out in happiness. She looked forward, seeing the exit. Keeping the PokéBall in her hand Green walked out the cave and the stench of burning hit her. Running round the side of the cave she was stopped by a small tree. Green groaned, threw her PokéBall into the air releasing Ivysaur. She ordered the Pokémon to use cut and it obeyed, a long vine protruded from underneath the plant slowly growing on the back of Ivysaur. With a quick swipe the tree was sliced in half opening the path for the trainer. Green ran towards the entrance of Pewter City stopping suddenly at the sight of burning buildings. A shrill shriek penetrated the air causing fear to rush through Greens' body.
Looking into the sky a brilliant blue blur glistened like ice. The blur began speeding around the sky. Green scanned the area to see if anyone needed help or if she could see any person at all. A figure came running at her with a floating Pokémon beside it. Green tried to move but her feet were stuck. No, they weren't stuck, she was frozen with fear. She knew that it was a Pokémon in the sky and a bird Pokémon at that. She cursed herself for her fear of avian Pokémon. Since she was a young girl she'd always been scared of bird Pokémon. She couldn't get close to her friends Pidgey, instead choosing to stick with her friend who had an Ice-type Pokémon.
"Are you OK!?" shouted the figure coming eve closer. Green opened her mouth to answer back but no words came out. The shriek of the Pokémon echoed through the air again sending shivers down Greens' spine. A shining blue beam blasted by Green leaving a cold trail in the air. 'Was that an Ice Beam?' she asked herself. By now the figure was in clear enough view to see it was Brock, the Gym Leader of the city, and his Geodude beside him.
"Hey, are you OK?" asked Brock again, more gently this time. Green looked at him and nodded slightly. Brock wasn't convinced. "This is an Ice-type Pokémon, you may want to put Ivysaur back in its ball. It's at a disadvantage here." Green nodded and complied, returning her friend to its ball. Brock ordered his Geodude to take Green to safety and with one hand it lifted her into the air and began floating away from the battle with her. She looked back to see Brock throwing a PokéBall into the air, erupting in white light and a large snake-like creature made out of rocks revealed itself from the light. The Geodude took her away too quickly for her to take out her Dex and check the Pokémon.
After what had felt like hours of carrying Green the Geodude stopped and set her down on the ground. Green looked at the Pokémon who was now pointing towards a path.
"Have I to follow it?" she asked. Geodude bounced in the air for a second with a grin on its face. "I'll take that as a yes." She started walking towards the path, glancing back the Geodude who'd already begun its trip back home. She stopped walking and felt her eyes tearing up. Green couldn't hold it back and she let the tears flow. She felt useless. Thinking back, she couldn't even help Brock with the Pokémon. She was too scared to move. Green thought of Red and Blue. Those two trainers faced off against Zapdos and Moltres whereas she had to be taken away. 'Maybe it's because I had type disadvantage,' she thought. Who was she kidding? She knew that was just an excuse. A true trainer would think of ways to get around those disadvantages. She cursed at herself and continued walking.
The path had taken her to a Pokémon Centre, something Green was more than happy to see. She hurried over to the doors. They slid open, letting loose the smell of fresh cooking and a nice quietness from within. Green stepped inside and her vision went black. Her body fell to the floor.
It had been hours later before Greens' eyes fluttered open. Her head hurt and her mouth was dry. Was she still in the Pokémon Centre? She tried to sit up but her body was too weak. A firm hand was placed on her shoulder, gently laying her back down.
"You need to rest," said a deep male voice, "you collapsed in the Pokémon Centre." Green nodded and tried to talk but again, nothing came out. She felt annoyed with her body for failing her so much today. "I'm going to talk and you're going to listen, Green." Again she nodded but was perplexed as to who the man was.
From what Green had gotten from the talk from the man was this was Zemo. He'd helped Red in is fight against Zapdos but disappeared after the battle. He also helped Red with training and told Green he'd do the same for her since she couldn't battle against Articuno, the Pokémon which was attacking Pewter City. He let her know that Articuno had been captured but by Team Rocket. Zemo told Green she was to rest tonight as tomorrow she'd have a full day of training with him and she would become stronger. Green was scared but she knew she had to do this, she wanted to do this to become as strong as Red and Blue. With a determined grin on her face Green closed her eyes and began to drift off into sleep.
