Hello, everyone. Like I stated in my other story 'The Other Side', I know I have lots of followers/favorites for this story, but I'm not getting many reviews. No one is taking the time to leave feedback. If no one does this, I don't know how I'm doing. I'm debating whether to continue this story because of it. I put a lot of time and effort into this story (and 'The Other Side'), so if you have a minute, please take a minute and review. It really does mean a lot. I don't own HH's, just my own story.

Chapter 11

***The Next Day***

(Loren was surprised at how much she opened up to Eddie last night. She barely knew the guy and yet, she shared her life story with him. Well, he definitely knew a lot about her now and vice versa. She hadn't planned on telling him everything. It just kinda happened. In all honesty, though, she didn't regret her choice because it felt good to talk to someone besides Melissa. Eddie opened up about himself to her and she could tell he liked it, as well. For a guy who had a rocky past, according to the tabloids, Loren privately knew there was more to the story. She was right)

(Loren would've never in her wildest dreams imagined the hell that Eddie went through. Between being hurt by Chloe and Tyler, his last two CDs not doing well, and his manager not believing in him...Loren understood why Eddie spiraled out of control)

(Loren never thought she would have gotten as close to Eddie as she did. She rolls her eyes at her classmates for just seeing him as a piece of property. She saw the REAL Eddie Duran last night. She was flattered. Above all else, she saw him as a person, not as a piece of property)

(Through class, Loren did well in participating, as usual. Her mind occasionally went to Eddie and their heart to heart talk. A small smile spread across her face at the fact that he trusted her enough to open up to her. She knew that had to be difficult for him. With Loren, she hadn't been that open with someone since Melissa, but to Loren, that didn't count. Mel and Loren were best friends so it was only natural that they would tell each other things. Eddie was an exception. Loren had no intentions on telling Mel what Eddie said, unless he gave her the okay to do so)

(If Mel did go through with her plans on getting closer to Eddie, it would be up to him to disclose that part of his life. Loren kinda got the impression that Eddie wasn't as into Mel as much as she was into him. Eddie didn't say anything, but that's what her instincts were telling her. It wasn't any of her business, though. Loren also got the impression from the first night they all met that Ian was into Mel. Loren wasn't sure Mel picked up on that)

(Class soon ended for the day and Loren started walking to her dorm room. She was greeted in the halls by her bestie.)

Mel: (sighs happily) "Remember when I was gonna see how things with Eddie go?"

Loren: (nods slowly) "Yeah?"

Mel: (smiles) "Being I have his cell number, I'm going to call him tonight and see if he wants to go out."

Loren: (nods) "Interesting. I didn't know you had his cell number."

Mel: "He gave it to me a few weeks ago. I'm sure he gave it to you, too, right?"

Loren: "Yeah, but I've never used it yet."

Mel: (smiles wide) "Tonight will be my first time using it."

(Loren narrows her eyes and chuckles curiously)

Loren: "You sound very proud of that."

Mel: (nods quickly) "Oh, I am. I was going to call him earlier this week, but I thought tonight would be better."

Loren: (tilts her head) "What do you think of his friend, Ian?"

Mel: "He's nice." (slightly confused) "I think he likes me, though."

Loren: "What makes you say that?"

Mel: "I don't know. He smiles at me. I feel like he gives me extra attention." (smirks) "And he says I look hot."

Loren: (laughs) "Well, when you're dressed in those little outfits, any guy will say that!"

Mel: (sighs in defeat) "True." (eyes light up) "Maybe you should ask Ian out."

Loren: (laughs) "What? Mel, no offense, but he's not my type."

(Mel briefly stops, causing Loren to stop)

Mel: (hands on her hips) "And just who is your type, Missy?"

(As Loren and Melissa continued to walk, she was confused when Eddie came into her mind as Mel asked her that question. She didn't know why he would. She wasn't interested in him...she didn't think so, anyway. Her and Eddie discovered new stuff about each other, yes. At the very least, she assumed they were friends. Loren shakes her head)

Loren: "I don't know. I don't have my eye on anyone yet."

Mel: (rolls her eyes) "If you'd let me set you up with someone, maybe you WOULD have your eyes on someone. Oh, Lo, you're tough to negotiate with when you wanna be."

Loren: (shrugs) "I don't trust easily. You know that."

Mel: (nods) "Unfortunately."

(They get to their dorm, unlock the door, and go into their room. Meanwhile, at Eddie's penthouse hours later, he is sitting down on his piano bench and playing a song he wrote the previous night. He hasn't felt inspired lately. For some reason, though, after his talk with Loren, he had ambition to write something. It totally caught him off guard. The last time he was this inspired was when he was with Loren. He honestly didn't know if it was just a coincidence or if it was a sign. Eddie chalked it up to being a coincidence. Yes, he felt he could be himself around her, but he was still getting to know her. He was determined to try things with Mel. Maybe it would work, maybe it wouldn't. He wouldn't know until he tried)

(There is a knock at the door. Wanting to keep his focus on the tunes he was playing, he told the person to come in. It was revealed to be Ian)

Ian: "Hey, mate."

Eddie: (smiles) "Hi."

(Ian listens to the piano tunes and can't help but be impressed. He leans over the piano and rests his arms as he continues to listen to the piano keys. Eddie immediately stops and is clearly embarrassed)

Ian: "Don't stop, mate. That was good. What's the name of it?"

Eddie: (shrugs) "I'm leaning towards a few, but right now just have the lyrics written."

(Ian looks at his friend sympathetically and smiles)

Ian: "Please play it. I'd love to hear it."

Eddie: (rolls his eyes) "Okay."

(Eddie briefly points at his friend with a serious expression)

Eddie: "But don't make fun of it." (sighs) "At least not to my face."

(Ian nods and Eddie could tell his friend meant well. Eddie sighs before he focuses on the keys. It was obvious to Ian Eddie was in his own little world as he starts singing along with the piano playing)

I've been a walking heartache
I've made a mess of me
The person that I've been lately
Ain't who I wanna be

But you stay here right beside me
Watch as the storm blows through
And I need you

'Cause God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I've lost my way
There are no words here left to say
It's true, God gave me you, gave me you

There's more here than what we're seeing
A divine conspiracy
That you, an angel lovely
Could somehow fall for me

You'll always be love's great martyr
I'll be the flattered fool
And I need you, yeah

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I've lost my way
There are no words here left to say
It's true, God gave me you

On my own I'm only half of what I could be
I can't do without you
We are stitched together and what love has tethered
I pray we never undo

'Cause God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I've lost my way
There are no words here left to say
It's true, God gave me you, gave me you
He gave me you

(After the song is done, Ian just stares at his friend. Eddie can't help the nervousness he felt on Ian's unknown thoughts. Great, Ian probably thought the song was dumb)

Eddie: (sighs deeply) "Okay, get it out. You hate it. I knew it wouldn't be that good."

(Ian quickly shakes his head before staring at his best friend with a big grin)

Ian: "No, mate. You're wrong." (smiles) "I gotta say, Eddie. I think out of all the songs you have written, that one was the best one I have ever heard."

Eddie: (shocked) "Are you serious? You're not just pulling my chain?"

Ian: (seriously) "Would I do that when it comes to your music?"

Eddie: (shakes his head in defeat) "No, you wouldn't."

Ian: (curiously) "Who or what inspired the song?"

(Eddie looks down as he wonders that himself. All of a sudden, Loren's face pops into his head. Totally confused, he looks back at Ian. Eddie doesn't say anything as he wasn't sure what to say)

Eddie: (sighs) "I don't know, man. Maybe I just got inspired."

Ian: (smirks) "Unless you have a guardian angel in your life that you're not aware of."

(Eddie couldn't help but wonder if that was true)

Chapter 11 Done

Thank you for reading. If you have a minute, please let me know what you think. Thank you to Hhlover112414 for suggesting 'God Gave Me You' By Blake Shelton. That is the song that Eddie wrote and Ian listened to it. It was a tossup between 'A Thousand Years' and 'God Gave Me You'. I hope you like the song I chose.
