Chapter 11: Second chances Pt 2
"Do you understand, Jinky?" Harry asked his elf.
The small creature gave a low bow and smiled at the boy before popping off to complete her mission.
"You really are your mother's son, you know that?" Sirius asked his Godson with a proud smile.
"Wow, took you a while to figure it out." Harry replied cheekily.
After a few minutes Griphook entered the boardroom, greeted the two wizards and placed himself at the head of the table. He opened a large folder and quickly scanned through the contents inside before turning back to Harry and Sirius.
"Well, Mr. Potter I am surprised you haven't been told of these with drawls, I must express my deepest condolences and ask if you wish to stop this heinous crime?" Griphook's rusty voice also made the young wizard's skin crawl.
"Master Griphook, I understand that the person or people stealing from me have somehow tricked the great goblin nation, and I say that not as an insult but rather a supportive customer at your bank. Could you perhaps tell me who the culprit is?" Harry addressed the manager of his accounts with a tone of business and respect.
"It appears to be one Molly Weasley. You know Mr. Potter, the theft of a future Lord is punishable by death here at Gringotts." The ugly creature said with a grin that made Sirius shiver slightly and Harry's eyes widen slightly.
"No, I need time to think this through. Molly will get her due, all in time." Harry stated coldly after he regained his thoughts.
"As you wish, is there anything else I could assist you with while you are here?"
"Yes, firstly, could you tell me how she got authorization to enter my vault? As I understand it, she would need either my signature or magical oath placed on her to enter. Secondly, what did you mean by 'Lord'?"

Hermione was standing in the Headmaster's office not at a feeling guilty about what she had done to that scarlet girl Ginny and her glutton of a brother Ron. She was however wondering why Dumbledore just sat at his desk staring at her. She kept her eyes away from him and stared at the ground.
Something kept probing her mind whenever she made eye contact with him, whenever she would look, a battle would begin in her subconscious, one side kept thinking that Harry would potentially turn evil and would be a Dark Lord, while the other side kept remembering all the beautifully kind things Harry had done and how it was unnaturally abnormal for her to think these things.
"Ms. Granger, what do you have to say for yourself?" Dumbledore asked in a demanding yet gentle tone.
Hermione kept her head done and opened her mouth to speak until something caused her to feel really uncomfortable.
"Headmaster, I need to bathroom." She said as she shifted on the spot.
"Could it wait until we're finished here?"
"Honestly, no. If I don't go now, you might have a new lake in your office." Hermione said not eve trying to filter her need for the rest room.
"Alright, but I do wish to see you back here when you have finished."
Not even thanking the aged wizard, Hermione burst out of the office and sprinted towards the restroom. When she closed the door she felt her need for the bathroom suddenly disappear. Her eyes widened as she feared the worst. Looking at the floor beneath her, Hermione gave a sigh of relief when she didn't see any liquid on the floor.
"Okay, what the hell was that?" she wondered out loud.
"Sorry miss, Jinky had to make sure we would not be disturbed."
Hermione gave a loud yelp and turned to see a small creature in a very snazzy outfit looking up at her.
"Err, who are you?" she asked raising an eyebrow.
"I be Jinky, a house-elf for Master Siri, Remsy and Potty. Jinky has been guarding Master Potty's friends and you be's in danger miss Grangy." Jinky told Hermione quickly.
"What do you mean 'in danger'?"
"The headmaster, he be trying to make you think that Master Potty is evil."
"So he was the one! I knew something was off about him. What am I going to do?" Hermione asked herself quietly.
"Jinky is having something that will help you miss."
Hermione turned to the small creature and saw her holding a necklace; it wasn't extravagant but pretty none the less.
"This necklace was created by Master Remsy for Master Potty when he was younger. Its purpose was to protect the young Master's mind from those who wanted to invade it." Jinky told her as she handed the bookworm the necklace.
"So this is an Occlumency handicap?" Hermione asked as she inspected the simple chain necklace. She had read about wizards who were able to use Legillimency but had no idea of how powerful the effect was
"Yes miss, now you must be getting back to the Headmaster, he is being suspicious of you." Jinky said in her small voice before popping away quickly.
Hermione took a deep breath and left the bathroom. She had a thousand thoughts rushing through her mind at once. Why would Dumbledore try to make it seem as though Harry was headed towards the dark side? What was his angle?
Shaking her busy head, she headed towards the Headmasters office and tucked the small necklace in her shirt. She'd have to ask one of her friends to teach her the basics of Occlumency; Professor Lupin might want the necklace back.

"Well, this isn't what I was expecting." Harry replied dryly as he and Sirius left Gringotts bank.
"There's plenty of time to mope over your love life later, right now we've got to handle the whole Blaise Zabini… Binigna… Zama… whatever his last name is thing at the Ministry." Sirius said grinning at his Godson.
"Right, let's go."
Sirius put a hand on Harry's shoulder and apparated to the nearest entrance into the Ministry.
Harry couldn't get all the information he had just learnt out of his head. Six, how the hell could he handle that? Sure the Wizarding community wasn't against it, but six? The Goblins must have made a mistake; this is just too much for a fifteen year old boy. Things are hard enough controlling his hormones. If this information ever found its way into the castle… Harry shuddered at the thought.
"Harry, we're here." Sirius' voice shook the young man out of his musings and nodded his head sharply.
Harry took a deep breath and pushed the holding cell door open. The cell was more of a room and the walls were painted pure white, it gave the illusion of the 'light' people spoke of before they passed on. It smelt clean, but had the small tinge of metal in the atmosphere. Harry then looked up to see a single wooden table in the middle of the room, he then saw his target. A dark skinned, young man sitting at the table with his head hung low.
"Mr. Binigna, how are we doing today?" Harry asked loudly as he made his way over to the large desk.
Blaise looked up at him a sneered angrily.
"What do you want, Potter? Come to brag have you?"
Harry sat down in the chair opposite Blaise and watched him closely, before closing his eyes and breathing heavily.
"Blaise, I have come to offer you a deal."
At this Blaise looked up at Harry, curiosity written clearly in his eyes.
"The deal I have is simple, I drop your charges, all you have done to me and my friends will be forgiven. I have but a small catch, you and your mother will now be full supporters of House Potter and Black, your previous contacts and business partners will be screened by us and our people to ensure no treachery will be done. Also all contact with the Malfoys, Crabbes, Goyles and the Notts will be terminated from this point on. Your mother I understand it is a fantastic lawyer; unfortunately I've never had to see how she rips her opponents a new one, but as she has already agreed to be an asset to our Houses I cannot wait to see it for myself. Now Blaise I've been told that your strongest subject is Potions, a near blessing as I understand it. I will need your skills in the future, so what do you say?"
Blaise sat staring wide eyed at Pot-Harry; this deal was certainly a good one. He gave a hard nod and shook Harry's outstretched hand.
"Oh and one more thing Blaise, if you even consider backstabbing me and joining sir noseless, I'll hunt you down and kill you." Harry whispered dangerously. At the half-Italian's frightened face Harry gave a warm smile and stood to leave the room.
"So?" Sirius asked him.
"Oh, he got the message." Harry replied smiling.
"So, back to the castle then?"
"Not yet, one more stop, if you don't mind." Harry said softly. Sirius raised his eyebrow and looked at him. Harry never looked down at anyone; he kept his eyes on everything, so this was certainly out of character.
"Alright, where are we headed?"
"Godric's Hollow." Harry replied without looking up at Sirius.
Sirius then understood the boy's sadness. He gave a nod and led the way out of the Ministry so they could apparate to their destination.

Daphne, Tracey, Luna and Susan sat on the Quidditch stands listening to Neville explain what happened with the whole Ron and Ginny scenario.
"So apparently Ron went into a severe stroke, caused by all the Love Potions. His been taken to St Mungos, they say his bloody lucky he didn't die."
"What about Ginny, anything happen to her?" Tracey asked as she laid her head on Luna's lap.
"Well, Ginny's been suspended pending an investigation. She was heard by the entire school and teaching staff that she planned to poison Harry. There's no way the Ministry could ignore that." Neville replied.
"It's so sad, Ginny and I were the closest of friends when we were younger, she was such a spoilt brat but she always had the best ideas for games we could play." Luna said nostalgically.
"Sad, people change for the worst if not surrounded by positive influences." Daphne added smartly.
Susan looked around her new group of friends with a new found respect for each of them; Daphne and Tracey were not like the typical Slytherins she had the displeasure of meeting, in fact they were warm, funny and very caring, Luna hadn't been the ditzy blonde everyone thought she was, sure she could be a tad… odd, but her intentions are never ill and she definitely deserved to be in Ravenclaw, Luna was as sharp as a tact when she needed to be, Neville the once pudgy boy had now grown into a more confident man, Harry's presence must have influenced him quite a bit, even his potion marks had risen before Snape had been kicked out and Hermione, Susan and Hannah had always avoided the bushy haired girl because she seemed like an insufferable know it all, but she had learnt the Hermione simply wanted everyone to do their best and not squander their opportunity- especially the Half-bloods and Muggle-borns. She knew they would have a harder time getting any type of job in the Ministry and that if their marks were good enough the Minister would have to consider them for the job. Susan smiled as she listened to the group discuss their favorite topic; Harry J. Potter.
"What do you think he's doing now?" Daphne asked as she stared out towards the grounds.
"Not sure, but knowing him, we probably won't know until he accidently blurts it out or something." Tracey replied as she played with a lock of Luna's hair.
"You two really got close didn't you?" Neville said with a small grin.
"I suspect Tracey is curious about her sexuality, but I don't mind that she chose me to seduce. I guess if she chose Daphne and she didn't like it, their friendship could potentially end." Luna replied dreamily. There was a long pause and everyone's eyes were now on the tiny Claw.
"So…" Tracey had turned a bright shade of pink before lifting her head off Luna's lap and sitting up straight.
"Don't be embarrassed Tracey, it happens to everyone, even boys." Luna said in an even tone.
"Err, no we don't." Neville said at Luna.
"Yes, you do."
"No we don't."
"What makes you an expert?" Luna asked her brows creased.
"Well, I'm a boy!"
"Prove it!"
That stopped Neville dead in his tracks. He stared wide eyed at the tiny blonde who now attempted to glare back at him but it looked more like a deep frown. The other girls were now curious as to what would happen next as they all stared at Neville expectantly.
"Y-you've got to be joking!" he said loudly.
Luna was silent for a long minute before a huge grin shot across her face.
"Yep!" she replied happily before pulling a reluctant Tracey back into her lap and played with her hair.
Susan watched everything with a small smile on her lips before she too stared out at the lake as her thoughts kept playing back to the Hogsmaede weekend and leaving Harry to face those Death Eaters alone. I will be there to help him next time he needs me to! She thought determinedly.

Dumbledore just couldn't understand it; here stood Hermione Granger staring him dead in the eye refusing to apologize for what she had done to the two Weasley children. To make matters worse her mind seemed to have developed a huge Occlumency shield in a matter of minutes. He couldn't place the idea of Harry potentially turning into a Dark Lord into her mind. This was bad, very bad.
"I am highly disappointed in you Ms. Granger what if Mr. Weasley had died from those potions?" he asked trying to make her feel guilty.
"What I don't understand is how you could possibly think any of this is my fault. If Ginny didn't have those potions to begin with Ron wouldn't have eaten them. All I did was bring her heinous crime out of the shadows." Her cold tone made the Headmaster's blood boil.
"Regardless, you placed a fellow Gryffindor's life at risk and for that I am deducting fifty house points." He told her sternly.
"Alright professor, may I leave now?"
Dumbledore was now seething, this bloody muggle born treating him like an equal; he had half a mind to curse her. Taking a huge breath to gather his thoughts Dumbledore waved his hand and dismissed the girl before turning his chair to look out the large window in his office.
Once the door of his office closed shut, Dumbledore groaned slightly and slouched back into his seat, he thought back to what had happened. He needed something, a way to antagonize Harry from his peers preferably soon after the Christmas holidays. The holidays were approaching in the next week, which didn't leave the Headmaster a lot of time. Then he figured it out, it was so simple, the Gryffindors' were known for their courage, not brains and there was one child in the group which lacked both those attributes. Quickly heading over to his floo network he grabbed a pinch of sand and through it into the flames.
"Professor McGonagall." He called.
"Yes, Albus?" the Scottish woman's face appeared within the flames.
"Minerva, could you please tell Mr. Finnegan to report to my office immediately?" he said in a professional tone.
"Of course, may I ask why?"
"Just doing a little damage control, nothing to concern yourself with, my dear."
Professor McGonagall didn't look so comforted by the Headmaster's answer but agreed none the less and went to call Seamus for him. When she had left Dumbledore smiled and sat back in his seat. This could work out after all. He thought to himself.

"Hey, Sirius, why don't we throw a party this Christmas?"
The shaggy haired man watched his godson curiously before shrugging his shoulders slightly.
"Sure, I don't see why not. Why the sudden interest in throwing one though?"
"Simple, I want to rebuild all the Potter industries and for that I'll need business partners. Pure-bloods are pretty simple people, so all I have to do is make small talk, tell them about one of the businesses owned by the Potters and viola I've just hooked myself a large investor." Harry told him from his place on the ground. He sat on the ground in front of his parents graves with a sad smile on his face.
"Well I should be a little more offended by the 'Pure-bloods' being simple' thing." Harry scoffed at that. "But you have a point, as long as they're sure a profit will generated they'll jump through hoops for you. Also being the Boy-Who-Lived will help you get more than a few donors."
"We'll handle the rest after school ends, with the exams and everything coming up soon, I'd rather my mind on that then party planning." Harry said as he stood up and stretched his back. The sun had now fallen and he had to get back to school. He let out a small sigh before grabbing Sirius' arm.
"Wait, we've got to get Blaise first." He told Sirius.
"Oh right, I knew we'd forgotten something, come along then, I'll get you to the Ministry then take you both to the castle. I can't come in, Gwen and I have plans."
"Yeah I know, she told me."
"What when?"
"Sirius, we can discuss that at a later time, right now, I'd love to get back to school and rest. Wait, why are you asking me? She's your girlfriend so ask her."

"Tia, I got a very cold shiver a second ago… Sirius and Harry have done something."
"Remus darling, you're being paranoid, Sirius and Harry are just fine."
Remus Lupin stared at his long-time girlfriend skeptically.
"No, they've definitely done something, or at least planned something that I won't be too happy about."
Hestia Jones smiled fondly as she watched her boyfriend pace around the room and occasionally shiver violently. It was at that moment her sister; Gwenog, captain of the Holyhead Harpies entered the room. She walked up to her sister and pointed to Remus.
"Harry and Sirius?"
"Yep."
Gwen had short brunette hair and a thin face, her pale skin contrasted the light dusting of freckles that graced her cheeks, and her deep blue eyes made it seem as though she had charmed them to look like the Mediterranean Sea. Hestia had long brunette hair and the same small face as her sister, her skin was more tanned and golden, she had bright hazel eyes and high cheek bones.
The two girls watched Remus with a high level of amusement before they heard a faint pop coming from the front door.
"I'm home!"
Remus was the first one to him; he grabbed his 'brother' by the collar and looked at him desperately.
"Sirius what have you and Harry done?!"
"I… don't know. What have we done?"
Gwen walked over to the pair and gave Remus a hard smack on the head.
"Remus, behave. Sorry love, his convinced that you and Harry have done something that he's going hate."
"Or at least planned something." Hestia added mockingly.
"Oh, no we didn't have the time to, Remus." Sirius told his best friend. "Come along Gwenog, let's go get changed for our date." He added quickly.
"Hold on, you never use my full name unless you've done something you haven't told us about."
"Truly?" Sirius asked genuinely curious.
"Yeah."
"Not once."
"It's true."
"What are the chances…" he muttered. "Fine, Harry and I want to have a Christmas party here, for both fun and professional reasons." Sirius answered.
The three others in the room stood staring at their friend with a look Sirius couldn't identify.
"I've got to go to the bathroom." He said quickly before running upstairs.
"1…2…3…4…" Remus muttered as he rubbed his temples and walked into the sitting room.
"What's he doing?" Gwen asked her sister.
"Anger Management technique he read about in a muggle book." Hestia replied.
"Ah…"
I know this isn't up to par with the others, so please if anyone's interested in being a beta-reader please send me a PM!
