Well, sorry for the mistakes in here, if you even care.

This Chapter had been a pain in the butt to translate and there were some phrases, which I just couldn't translate properly from german into english...

Chapter 10

Even a long time after that, he couldn't get God's words out of his head and Michael still couldn't believe what his father had said to him.

A war was coming?

A war his little brother was responsible for?

This couldn't be true!

Not he!

Not his little brother...

The angel whom he had raised, whom he had taught God's commandments and to whom he had given so much love as he gave also his father.

Lucifer couldn't have forgotten all of this!

That was simply not possible...

The mark of darkness could never have as much power as it let Lucifer forget about all these wonderful memories he had of his brothers and sisters.

And it could never make him to forget how much his father loved him!

Michaels hands balled into fists of such thoughts and he gritted his teeth.

Even the feathers on his wings lined up.

God loved Lucifer from all the angels of heaven the most.

Even more than Michael...

He couldn't have forgotten that!

There was only one way to find this out for Michael in this very moment:

He had to face his brother, had to try to bring him back to his senses, before everything would become much, much worse.

But how could he do that if Lucifer didn't even listen to the words of his father?

But...Michael was not God...

Lucifer had always respected him as his big brother, had looked up to him, had always done everything Michael had asked of him without complaining about it.

There still was a tiny glimmer of hope that Lucifer would listen to him and come back to his senses.

Without thinking about it even longer, Michael rose from his sleeping place and went to the door that led out from his personal quarters.

Shortly his gaze wandered to his sword and his warrior armor and he thought seriously about to put on both, but he quickly forgot about this thought and he opted instead for a long, white robe.

He wanted to face Lucifer as his brother rather than his enemy.

Once again, he took a deep breath, tried to calm himself down and to get the tension out of his body, before he opened his door and stepped out into the darkness...

The night greeted him with an icy embrace that made him shudder and briefly Michael listened into the silence that surrounded him. His eyes scanned his surroundings, because he was afraid that someone might try to keep him from his plan, or would follow him in the worst case.

Michael wanted to face his brother alone, because he didn't want to jeopardize any more angels.

He didn't know how great the hatred in Lucifer's heart already was and he didn't want that any other angel would be faced with the darkness in his heart.

It was already hard enough for he himself...

Motionless he stayed there for a moment and when he was sure that no one would follow or even stop him, Michael went on his way.

He walked unerringly into the direction of the dark forest, which extended in front of him, because he could think of where Lucifer was hiding, together with his host of angels.

And he was right, because the deeper his feet carried him into the forest, the more clearly he could hear the voices that came from the depths of the forest to him and which got louder and louder with every step.

He saw flickering lights, coming most likely from torches that were gently moved by the night breeze, and when he went deeper into the dark forest, he could see the shadowy outlines of some angels, standing not far away from a large rock and talked noisy and wildly.

Michael stayed in the background for the beginning and moved slowly forwards to be able to get a better look at the scene.

He didn't know how these angels would react, if they would see him now.

He had come without his sword and wanted to avoid provoking a fight.

Even when he could hardly imagine that these angels would attack him, but he wanted to be on the safe side and stayed hidden in front of their eyes.

It was hard for him to understand anything they said, because only here and there he could understand some scraps, but when he heard those words, his heart beat faster.

Apparently these angels prepared for a battle...

The warrior ventured even closer to them, hid behind a tree and when he peeked out of his hiding place, he discovered Lucifer, who stood before the host of angels on the large rock and was talking to them.

He told them about the betrayal of their holy father, that he tormented and humiliated them with his decisions and that his reign had to come to an end, if they didn't want him to destroy the paradise forever.

"What shall we do Lucifer?" asked one of the angels and the Lightbringer turned his shining eyes on him.

"I tell you what you should do: Get your weapons and stay on my side in this battle, because only together we are strong enough to fight against our father and to prevent him from destroying our home!"

His eyes took on a sinister sparkle and his lips curled into a malicious grin.

"And after we have destroyed God, we will destroy his creation with him!"

The crowd cheered and some angels raised their weapons and torches in the air to show Lucifer, that they were on his side and would go into this battle for him.

Michael couldn't believe the terrible words he just heard from the mouth of his little brother.

This was no longer the Lucifer whom he knew.

No.

The angel who stood before him was a monster...

As quietly as he could, he turned around and was about to go back.

He had to warn the other angels, had to warn his father for what was coming and he had to make sure that his new creation would be safe before Lucifer's anger.

But when he took a step, a little branch cracked under his foot and the sound of it went through his whole body and he stopped in his movements immediately and listened into the forest.

The host of angels had fallen silent, just like Lucifer and it seemed as if they would also listen into the forest.

And it almost seemed as if he could feel Lucifer's grin in the back of his neck...

"Why don't you come out of your hiding place and show yourself to us?"

Michael closed his eyes for a short moment, tried to calm down, before he turned around to face his fate.

At least he tried to do so.

Slowly he stepped out of his hiding place and a shudder came over him, when he saw the cold eyes of the angels, who turned on him.

Slowly he stepped forward, his eyes all the while directed on Lucifer.

The angels around him made space for him, so he could go through their rows, before he came to a halt in front of the rock on which his brother stood, who looked down at him mockingly.

The angels behind Michael closed their ranks again, to ensure that the Warrior wouldn't be able to escape.

"Michael, my brother. Have you changed your mind and want to join me now?"

He narrowed his eyes and glared at the Lightbringer.

"You have to stop Lucifer! This is crazy what you are doing here," he growled, while ignoring Lucifer's question.

The eyes of the Morningstar sparkled even more and there was something in them that Michael had never seen in an angel's eyes before.

It just scared him...

"You can call it whatever you want it Michael. It won't change anything that will come."

"And what will come?"

"A war is coming. A war, that will give us freedom!"

Lucifer spread his snow-white wings out and stretched his arms out to the sides.

"And when this war is won, I will ensure that the Paradise will shine in a new light. I'll be a better God than father ever was!"

Again sounded cheers all around Michael.

"Father will kill you before you even get the chance to face him in battle!" Michael growled and in an instant the other angels around him fell silent and each pair of eyes was directed at him in this moment.

But the warrior angel remained steadfast and brave and he kept his eyes directed on his brother, who was now looking at him with so much hatred in his eyes that he got Goosebumps.

"Do you really think our father would have the courage to kill his own son?"

Michael narrowed his eyes again and he knew that he would lose his brother forever with his next words, but Lucifer gave him no choice.

"If father doesn't do it, then I will do it!"

Only seconds later Lucifer's vociferous laughter echoed through the night, which made Michael shudder.

"You?! You want to kill me in all seriousness? Don't be ridiculous Michael! Of all the angels of heaven you could never kill the angel that you have practically raised!"

"Don't underestimate me brother!"

Again there was this mocking twinkle in Lucifer's eyes and his smile took on sinister proportions.

"Well Michael. Then come here and do it. Here and now. Before the eyes of all these angels. Come here and kill me. Show all of them that you have the courage to do it! Show them that I no longer mean anything to you..."

Every word was like a sword thrust and hit Michael exactly where Lucifer had wanted it: directly in his heart.

When the warrior turned his face away from his brother, again mocking laughter crept from the throat of the younger Archangel.

"As I have thought it: You have no courage to do it. And since you apparently don't want to join my side either, I'll show you what I'm capable of!"

Before Michael got the chance to ask him what he meant by that, it was already too late.

"Seize him!"

Immediately the angels around him tried to grab him.

God's eldest angel fought bravely against them, but he had no chance against their superiority and it was not long before he lay on the floor.

Several angels were needed, to hold him on the ground.

He struggled against them with all his might, but he didn't manage to free himself and so he could only look helplessly at Lucifer and how he jumped from his rock and stepped toward him slowly. He drew a dagger from the sheath, that was attached to his waist. The blade shone silver in the light of the moon and Michael felt his eyes widened with fear.

"No!"

He began to defend himself against the angels who held him down, but they held him in an iron grip and made sure that he couldn't escape.

Lucifer kneeled silently down at his side and looked down at him and shook his head in disbelief.

"Look at you Michael. What has become of you?"

"Of me?! What has become of you?!"

"Rather ask me what I will become of me after I won the war..."

"You are insane! You don't know what you're talking about!"

"Oh I know very well what words leave my mouth, but it seems you have become blind and can't see how far our world is now on the edge. I'll lead the Angels back to the light. I will reign over them, as the new god..."

"Not if I can prevent this!"

Lucifer narrowed his eyes threateningly and raised his dagger over his brother's body.

"You coward! If you want to kill me, do it in a fight and not here! Not like that!"

A sneer spread across Lucifer face.

"Who says that I want to kill you? Oh no Michael, I have other plans with you. You will deliver a message for me."

As he spoke, he cut the top of Michael's robe open, to expose his chest and stomach.

Once more he looked into his face and Michael could see the darkness in his eyes.

"You shouldn't have come here all alone...brother!"

As the blade cut into his flesh, Michael's loud screams of pain echoed through the whole forest and mingled with the scornful laughter of his brother and his host of angels...
