Chapter 11:texting, dating, and Feeeelings
A/N Sorry for the late update gaiizzz, my router died and needed to be reincarnated.(By the way, to those who are wondering im a girl )ONWARDZ!
The next morning, Kouta awoke to his friends' sleeping forms scattered across his room. Next to him on his bed was Yuuji, on the floor nearby on a blow-up mattress was Hideyoshi, and off in the corner on a pile of blankets and pillows was Akihisa. Everyone else seemed to be asleep so Kouta was about to let his eyes flutter closed once again when his phone buzzed.
Kouta reached across Yuuji and picked up the phone that had nearly woken the pink haired rebel. The illuminated screen showed previous texts that had been sent at around seven the previous night. Kouta's eyes wondered to the bright numbers at the top corner of the screen that read 9:00am. He unlocked his phone and scrolled through the texts he had received. All five of them were from the same maroon haired girl whom he had developed a crush on.
Minami: Where are you guys?
Minami: Are you at your house?
Minami: Are you even getting any of these or are you just ignoring me.
Minami: If it's the latter you'll be severely punished the next time I see you.
Minami: Well…just reply back if you did get these I guess
And the messages ended there. He decided to reply back to her , considering she didn't know where he lived, it wouldn't put him in any immediate danger.
Kouta: Yeah, we're all at my house
It only took a few seconds for her to respond. What he got back was very disconcerting.
Minami: Great!
Kouta was extremely creeped out but didn't want to ask what the hell she meant by "Great!". Instead of dwelling on the eerie message he had received, he decided to get ready to face the day. He reached to his left and picked up his crutches. Then, making sure not to wake Hideyoshi, he maneuvered around his sleeping form and quietly hobbled out the door with his civvies.
Across the room, in a dark corner, Akihisa was glaring at the wall. He'd heard the text tones given off by Kouta's phone when he had been texting. It didn't' take a rocket scientist to figure out wo he was texting. It was obvious he'd been texting Minami. It didn't surprise him either. Akihisa knew that something was going on between the two. He had also figured out that the girl Kouta had said he had a crush on had been Minami as well. The very thought that he'd have her picture in his wallet made Akihisa's blood boil. Over the long night he had decided why, he was jealous. Unbeleivably without a doubt jealous of their little "relationship". He still didn't know if Minami returned his feelings and he wanted to know for sure.
Almost mechanically, Akihisa lifted himself of the round and dragged himself over to Kouta's night stand. Careful not to wake Hideyoshi, he reached over and grabbed Kouta's phone, which he'd neglected to lock when he'd left. Akihisa scrolled through his earlier text to a certain maroon haired girl and only found the recent texts sent that morning, to his slight delight. What didn't make him feel good was how worried Minami seemed about what he was doing. He placed the phone back in place and crept back to the corner to check his own phone. There were absolutely no texts which made his eyes narrow.
"Nnngh…Oh hi Akihisa" Hideyoshi said sleepily sitting up rubbing his eyes. Akihisa put on his best happy face and turned towards Hideyoshi.
"Morning sleepy head, wanna' play a prank on Yuuji" he said walking over to Hideyoshi who was now standing up stretching. Due to the lack of preparation, everyone had to sleep in Kouta's spare pajamas. Hideyoshi was wearing a plan t-shirt and camouflage pajama pants. Akihisa was wearing a black t-shirt and pajama pants with clouds on them. Meanwhile, Yuuji was shirtless wearing pajama pants with apples on them.
"I'm listening" Hideyoshi said suddenly very awake. Akihisa told Hideyoshi his plan and they both set forth into action. Hideyoshi took the soft fabric used to tie one of Kouta's robes together and tied Yuuji's feet together while Akihisa positioned Yuuji so he was facing the door. They then walked behind Yuuji and started shouting.
"THEY'RE HERE!"
"YUUJI WAKE UP THEY FOUND US!"
"SHE'S COMING YUUJI! SHOUKO IS CMING RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!" they screamed. Yuuji's eyes popped open and he jumped upright in an attempt to escape and fell flat on his face in front of the bed.
"WAGHHH WHERE!" he yelled trying to squirm free of the blankets he'd entangled himself in. He then looked around and noticed Hideyoshi and Akihisa laughing in the corner. He was about to get up to attack them when they heard yelling coming from downstairs.
"Kouta, we're heading off to work now! Make sure you and your friends don't get into any trouble! And Make sure you're nice to these girls down here!" Kouta's mom shouted.
Everyone froze…the bathroom door opened to show Kouta in street clothes with his hair still damp from the shower he'd previously been in. He looked towards the others with fear and astonishment in his eyes. His frightened stare was returned by the other three boys. Then they heard the downstairs door slam. Kouta hurridly grabbed his crutches and hobbled over to the other boys who were helping Yuuji stand up and untangle himself from the blankets and bindings they'd trapped him in.
Seconds after the door slammed shut, groups of footsteps were heard slowly making their way up the stairs.
"How'd they find out where I lived?" Kouta whispered nervously.
"No idea, all I know is we're done for" Yuuji said.
"I…I don't want to die yet!" Akihisa said backing up towards a wall.
"It's no use Akihisa…there's no where left to go" Hideyoshi said. He'd already lost all hope and was preparing to die.
The footsteps grew nearer until they arrived just outside the door, which Kouta had closed when he'd run into the room. The door slowly opened and Minami, Yuuko, Shouko, and Mizuki all stepped in.
"Why hello boys, I believe we have some unfinished business." Yuuko said with a smile.
"Please…don't kill us. If you do kill someone kill Kouta, he's the one you're after" Akihisa said on his knees. He didn't volunteer Kouta because he was mad at him. He did it because he wanted to live.
"WHAT?! I'TS YOUR FAULT WERE IN THIS SITUATION ANYWAY!" Kouta yelled.
"HOW?! IT'S YOUR DAMNED TRUTH!" Akihisa yelled back.
"YEAH BUT THEY WOULDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT IF YOU DIDN'T TELL THEM" Kouta yelled back.
Akihisa thought for a moment. "Touché" he said finally.
Hideyoshi then walked up behind Kouta and whispered something in his ear. Kouta's face lit up and he turned to the girls.
"If you forget what happened yesterday, we'll all take you guys out for crepes and Ice skating." He said. "Even Yuuji".
This caught the girls by surprise. When they'd convinced Akira to find out Kouta's address from his parents, they didn't expect to have to make any negotiations.
"Do you mean a date?" Shouko said looking straight at Yuuji.
"Hell no"
"Yes"Hideyoshi said contradicting Yuuji. He didn't care about Yuuji's individual feelings. He wanted to live and that's what was going to happen.
"Hmm, I guess that's alright." Mizuki said with her face red. This meant that she'd get to go on a date with Akihisa.
"So we know Shouko and Yuji are going together, but what are the other dates going to be?" Yuuko said.
Kouta opened his mouth to say something and Minami felt her heart jump, but before he could say anything, Akihisa spoke up.
"I can go with Minami" he said shocking Minami, Kouta, and Mizuki. Minami felt her face go red while Kouta closed his mouth and looked away. He stared down at his socks.
"Uh, S-sure" Minami said trying not to look directly at the brunette. She hadn't expected this at all. She guessed she should be happy that her crush had picked her over Mizuki but she was still a bit disappointed.
"Then I guess I'll go with Mizuki" Hideyoshi said.
"That leaves Kouta and I" Yuuko said rolling her eyes. "I guess that's alright" she said walking away from the group, followed by Shouko and Yuuji, a sad Mizuki and Hideyoshi, and Akihisa. Miami and Kouta looked at each other before blushing and running down to catch up with the group. (Kouta using his crutches of course) and they all began an enlightening day together.
A/N: End of a late chapter eleven. By the way, I'm not planning on killing off Kouta. Although I do have a nice little twist up my sleeve. I seriously doubt anyone will expect it, although I might be wrong ;).
