Chapter 10
The doors opened to the throne room. Snoke awaiting all the Knights of Ren. Kylo and Artrius were the first to arrive, followed by the rest of the Knights. All kneeling to Snoke. "The Mighty Knights of Ren", started Snoke, "I warned you all that as you grow stronger with the dark, Skywalker will rise and try to stop us. And I have felt this great disturbance".
"But this isn't what I called you all here. No, the Knights end here. You all shall be under my command. In my new Sith Rule of One. The Sith have died with Palpatine and Vader, but in my new Sith Rule we are not Sith. We are not Jedi, we are the dark. We are the Rens, we are the One Sith. One head, and multiple followers. Unbalanced as all things should be".
Snoke had commanded that they all started training. Kylo spared with Artrius, both Red blades locking onto each other, dodging every attack that both thrown at each other. Though Kylo was a skilled fighter, Artrius was even better. And Snoke had an eye on him. Artrius, the direct bloodline to Skywalker himself, would only join Snoke through force. He was against his will, and Snoke could easily kill him. But Snoke decided to keep him, Artrius idolized the Dark Lord Revan, even creating his mask to look almost rememblence to the Sith Lord. Snoke's former enemy. Revan killed him thousand of years ago. But Snoke had the key to eternal life, something that no other Sith could ever reach. Sidious almost reached that level, if he hadn't kill him in his sleep.
Snoke came back to reality, and raised his hand. Signaling all the Rens to cease fighting. All stop, and kneeled to him. All their helmets were barely visible with the black midnight floor.
He smiled, soon the galaxy will be his again. And there will be no one to stop it. Not with his loyal students. "Kylo, take this Sith holocron", began Snoke, "This will help you progress in your talents with the force, remember you only use anger to open it".
Snoke handed Kylo the holocron. He remembers when he and Luke found it on Mustafar, the holocron created by none other than Darth Vader. Though Luke thought it was destroyed, Snoke kept it hidden within his temple to prepare the violent Ben Solo into becoming the New Vader.
Snoke then ordered all Knights back to their positions, save for Artrius and Kylo. They would stay aboard the Supremacy for protection from the Republic fleet. After every thing was done and said, Snoke closed his eyes and connected with the girl again. Ready to fool her mind, and making her his new apprentice.
Kylo sat criss crossed with his grandfather's holocron at his view, along with Vader's burned mask across from it. "Grandfather, show me again the power of the darkness. I won't let nothing stand in our way. I'll finish what you started". The Holocron started to open and the mask was connecting with the holocron. Kylo looked up, his eyes now a glowing yellow. He heard a voice, then he saw his grandfather. The ghostly figure who is torn between the light and the dark. Kylo could only see the dark half, Vader's voice started to boom around his quarters. "Kylo Ren, my grandson. You have much to learn from the dark side young boy. Your training is not yet complete, let us proceed with it".
Rey picked her way down the cracked and chipped stairs in the rain, careful of her footing—after everything she'd been through, it would be beyond ridiculous to kill herself falling down a wet staircase.
She found Chewbacca in the Falcon's cockpit, fussing with the freighter's hypertransceiver.
"Still can't reach the Resistance?" she asked. The Wookiee barked in frustration. "Keep at it," Rey said encouragingly. "If you get through, ask their status, and…ask about BB-8". Chewbacca promised he would and Rey worked her way back to the ramp, wiping the rain off her forehead.
She wondered if she should have asked about the dozen porgs perched on the dashboard, watching the Wookiee work—or the porg that had been sitting companionably on his hairy shoulder. She supposed the porgs would be dinner soon enough, and the Wookiee was using the Falcon as a larder. Treating tomorrow's meal as today's pet struck Rey as a bit odd, but then it was a big galaxy, and every species was entitled to its quirks.
It was raining harder now, and Rey lingered under the Falcon, looking out in wonder and occasionally extending a hand so she could feel the rain splashing in her palm. Water had been precious on Jakku, bartered and hoarded and fought over, and its gleeful abundance here still felt like a miracle.
She knew the Caretakers would be gathering it in barrels, while the shallow roots of the island's grass and shrubs eagerly drank in as much of it as they could.
Something tickled at her awareness and she turned to stare out at the gray sea, her happiness giving way to dread at what she already knew she would see. Kylo was staring at her.
"Murderous snake," Rey said as his eyes locked onto hers. He came closer and she flinched, but refused to give ground.
"You aren't really here—you can't touch me," she said. "I'm safe."
"For someone who's safe, you're awfully afraid," Kylo replied. He peered at her, eyes glowing yellow in his pale face, and she realized he could see the spray bouncing up from the stone and hitting her.
"You're too late," she said, determined to break through his air of detached curiosity. "You lost. I found Skywalker and I'm training with him."
"How's that going?" Kylo asked, amused. Then his eyes flashed. "Has he told you what happened, the night I destroyed his temple? Has he told you why?"
"I know everything I need to know about you," she countered, taken aback.
"You do?" he asked, and peered at her, eyes intent. "You do. You have that look in your eyes from the forest, when you called me a monster." He came within a meter or two of Rey, and she wondered what would happen if she refused to move and they intersected. Would she find herself in his mind again, and have to endure his presence in hers? Could they actually touch, across a galaxy?
"You are a monster," Rey said, remembering the terror of her paralysis on Takodana. She stared back at him—and found his eyes full of evil. It was empty of all good, yet there was conflict. Like the light trying to pull him back.
"Yes, I am," Kylo chuckled, and there was menace in his voice—And then he was gone, leaving her watching the waves breaking on the stone. She stared into the heaving sea, not sure what she was searching for, then felt another tingle of awareness.
She turned, looking up at the island, up into the rain, and saw Luke waiting for her.
In the metal heart of the Supremacy, Kylo stood and stared at the place Rey had been. He felt something strange and looked down at his gloved hand. There was water on his palm. He stared at it, then balled his hand into a fist to hide it from his sight.
A/N: Hello! Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I got caught up in life. I have 5 projects to finish in college, so yay me. I've rewritten chapters 6 through 8, because first I realized that since the Last Jedi was Carrie Fisher's last film, I decided to make Leia more involved than sleeping through the film. And secondly, I was inspired by some star wars music. So yeah, hope you all enjoyed it. Make sure to check out for any youtuber doing a fan film, or fixing a film. And I'll hyped up for the new Mandalorians TV series. May the force be with you all.
