A/N: Quite the upsurge of InoxSai stories around here. Well, I think I know why xD.. I remember how few there were before it became canon, so it's odd to see them now. I don't know if this is me or what, but I feel like they put some outright randomness into those pairings. Bam, straight into the next generation, pulled from thin air lol. So whoa now, let's slow your roll, I'm still watching reruns of Shippuden over here at three in the morning. Also super pissed because I recently lost that channel and am too lazy to go online and find where I left off. I feel like a lot was skipped over, but like I said, probably just me. Anyway, sorry for the delayed update. School and work are enough to make me want to sleep all day.

Crippling embarrassment was an understatement. Their short make-up session was cut to an end right before the good part. They were usually decent with timing. He was rendered speechless for once, because neither could begin to explain such a predicament.

Kiba hoped he had at least returned to half of his normal color, because Ino wasn't there yet. She didn't seem able to speak, gawking at the sight of a captive audience. He hung his head as Kurenai cleared everyone out of the room hurriedly, and just like that.. he was front and center for an ego-shattering lecture on life.

"What exactly went on in my bed?"

Well, minus Shino.

"Care to start us off?" Kurenai probed, arms crossed. This was the first she was hearing of Konoha's most 'unique' couple.

"Look, I don't have time to go into all this right now and you're not my mother so-" He didn't get the chance to excuse himself, ear suddenly pinched between her fingers. "Ow, ow, ow!"

"I asked you and I want to know what is going on, now, please," She was almost scarier than his mother then, so he sat back down without complaint. Women with their pregnancies and mood swings.. He figured her hormones were probably still out of whack. "You and Ino Yamanaka? What did I miss? How long has this been happening?"

"Not long, man," Kiba rubbed his sore ear, "I swear. We were only fooling around."

"Man," Kurenai corrected him sternly, "do you have no sense of time and place?"

"Alright, I'm sorry," He said insincerely, already done with the questioning. "Can I go now?"

"She's not the one you should be apologizing to," Shino glared, still silently fuming over the fact they were together in his bed.

"Calm down! It's not like we were naked or anything. There was barely even touching."

He blushed furiously at that, dropping the subject at once. "Hmph."

"It's funny," Their teacher spoke up, "you two kind of remind me of this other couple."

"Me and Shino?!"

"No," Kurenai deadpanned, "you and Ino."

"Who?" Kiba asked curiously, grateful he wasn't being interrogated any longer.

"Of Asuma and I. When we first started dating, of course," She closed her eyes, and he didn't know whether to be honored or disgusted by the comparison. The mental image was slightly disturbing. "We were like you guys."

"You mean many decades ago?" Kiba joked before nudging Shino, who found little about the situation humorous. "You can't be serious."

"Not quite." She hit him with a look that said she had a few jokes of her own, making him curve his behavior.

"...How?" He was almost afraid to ask, not sure of the detail she would go into.

Kurenai smiled, "Too afraid to make it public. Too young and stupid to know what we were doing. Careless enough to think nobody knew."

"Hey, it's not like that.." Kiba trailed off, already feeling himself fluster from being proved wrong. "nobody did know until you guys just had to barge in here! Thanks for the humiliation!"

In a separate wing of the hospital, Sakura locked the break room door so they could talk alone. "What the hell?! You weren't going to tell me anything, were you?!"

Ino shook her head, "Let me explain. It's worse than you think."

"You've lost it! Is this what you meant the other day at the shop? Naruto was actually making sense!"

"Well, kind of. We've been seeing each other off and on."

"Naruto is usually wrong about everything!" Sakura screeched, "Since when?"

"Since we pretty much went on a date a few weeks ago. We kissed and he came over and-"

"Stop. He came over?"

"I'll get there in a second!"

"So wait.. you were in trouble with Ibiki for missing? What happened again?"

"Yeah!" She became overwhelmed when thinking back, "I thought it was you who snitched on me at first, but then I accused Shikamaru!"

"Me!" Sakura was shocked to be suspect, "thanks a lot, Pig."

"Sorry," Ino quickly deflected, "but get this, it wasn't him either! It was Naruto all along!"

"You're kidding."

"I wish."

"But seriously, Kiba?!"

"I know, he's not that bad!"

Sakura covered her mouth before exclaiming, "Oh gosh. What about Sai?"

"I don't know," Ino avoided eye-contact, not about to try and explain their kiss. "It's one big cluster fuck."

"So that's why you were pissed at me," She tossed her clipboard down, sitting next to the other medic on the lounge chair. "you should have said something before I left."

"Okay, but.. I may or may not still be crushing on Sai."

"Shut up!"

"I mean, I feel so stupid. Starting to feel everything like this is exhausting."

"It definitely sounds like somebody should be helping you through the mess that is your life," Sakura didn't bother putting it nicely, wrapping one arm around Ino in a failed attempt to comfort.

"Right? I don't know what I'm doing, Billboard Brow," Ino cradled her head in her hands.

"Well, I hope you know what this means," She smirked at her blonde best friend, purposely bringing the subject up, "you're hereby forfeiting any right of competition to Sasuke."

It never registered in the beginning, but by the look she was getting, it had Sakura more happy than she would admit. "Keep him. You're a troubled, lovesick pair that truly deserves each other. I need to broaden my horizons."

Sasuke hadn't been Ino's priority in years, but it was clear he was still a topic of interest. He was no longer the man she pined for years ago, and besides, she couldn't pursue three totally different guys; there was absolutely no possible way. Sakura didn't even pretend to be offended. "Of course you do."

"Stop giving me that face. You never won, Forehead, I let you have him!"

"You know what? I don't think Sasuke could keep up with you," She relented, wondering what got them to such a place. Sakura had initially planned on setting her up with Sai, making the transition from the Uchiha smoother. They could grow to be the ideal couple, with enough compromise and tolerance from both sides. Maybe there was a healthy balance. But apparently neither one of them knew how to make the right move. Throwing Kiba into the mix veered them off track. Judging by what she was hearing, they needed some heavy outside interference.

"What do I do now?"

"Don't worry, it'll work itself out."

Somehow, that didn't make her feel the least bit better.

A/N: Trying to wake this story up a little, hope to bring it to an end soon. Appreciate all the follows~ =)
