11. Sing
Though it was thought that the farmer up the road was accomplished in nearly everything, there was one thing that Chelsea couldn't do.
The girl could not sing.
Well, she could; it was more a matter of hoping she wouldn't. Odd as it was—coming from a soft-spoken, quiet girl like Chelsea—the singing that came from her mouth was just downright bad. Vaughn, of course, agreed to a certain extent. It wasn't exactly a walk in the park to sit in the kitchen while his wife was in the shower if he wished to retain any source of hearing that he still had, but some things just had to be done. So, the man suffered through some pretty terrible melodies and off-key notes to find her smiling as she came through the bathroom door, wet hair hanging around her face and her eyes brightened to the point of stars in the sky.
He decided that her smile was all he needed, anyways.
