Not So Happy 18th Birthday As the clock just switched to midnight Zoey was lied peacefully asleep in her bed when there was a knock at her window she was startled as she sat up and turned on her light and grabbed the nearest object and walked over to her window as she got closer she got a clear view of her boyfriend with flowers and what looked like breakfast as she breathed in relief and opened the window "what are you doing here?" she said smiling.
"Came to wish my best friend and my girlfriend a happy 18th birthday, he said handing her the roses as she smiled "wow they are beautiful" she said as she stepped out of the way to let him in.
He climbed from the deck into her room as he took his backpack off "I have something else too," he said.
"What more could you do?" she said shocked.
"I brought every season of your favorite show of all time from the 90's.." he then pulled out a blue ray disk "friends" he said proudly.
"Wow, you truly are the perfect boyfriend" she replied.
"You deserve the best Zoe" he replied "and I brought you homemade pancakes with eggs and blueberry muffins."
She shook her head "I don't deserve any of this" she replied.
"Yeah you do your the most loveable girl I know" he said as he brushed her hair out of her face and leaned in for their first kiss which was short and sweet as they pulled apart and smiled at each other.
"You want to eat and watch your favorite show?" he said.
"I'd be delighted" she replied as he put the blueray in and turned on the tv and hit play and they spent the rest of the night watching f.r.i.e.n.d.s until they fell asleep in each others arms.
It was the next morning and Zoey was asleep by herself and the alarm went off as she turned it off she looked for her boyfriend who was nowhere to be found she then looked over to find a note on her dresser.
I left earlier and didn't want to wake you, I didn't want to get you in trouble with your dad your birthday date isn't over just yet be ready by 7 I'm going to take you somewhere tonight love you forever and always.
She smiled at the note and went downstairs for breakfast she was almost to the kitchen when she was pulled into another room by her sister "soooo" said Kyleigh smiling.
"Soooo.. what?" said Zoey rolling her eyes.
"Soooo what happened last night?" Kyleigh said arching her eyebrow.
Zoey rolled her eyes "nothing."
"My room is right next to yours now since you moved upstairs I hear everything and I heard a males voice in your room last night, Zoey the innocent sister I didn't think you had it in you" she said laughing.
"The joke is on you because my boyfriend brought me roses, blue rays of my favorite show and breakfast for my birthday" said Zoey "and we watched my show and went to sleep nothing more."
"Wait today is your birthday?" said Zoey.
"My 18th" Zoey replied.
Zack happened to hear the last part of the conversation "Oh is today your birthday Zoe?"
"Yea it is" she said.
"Well we need to plan a party tonight your'e only eighteen once,"said Maya walking up to them.
"Oh no that's okay my boyfriend is taking me out tonight"said Zoey.
"Funny I don't remember him asking for permission to take you out tonight" said Zack.
"She's eighteen now he doesn't have to anymore" said Maya.
"I can't believe id ever say this but she's right" said Zoey.
"Oh I see how it is... now you two are ganging up on me and just a couple weeks ago you all hated each other" joked Zack.
"Would you rather us go back to that" joked Zoey.
"Nope I'm glad all three of the most important women of my life are getting along it truly means the world to me" he said pulling Maya Zoey and Kyleigh in a hug.
The doorbell then rang and Maya went to get it and walked back into the kitchen "there is a lawyer who wants to talk to you and Zoey."
He then welcomed the man into the home and the three of them walked into the kitchen and sat down "so whats going on?" asked Zack.
"Well there are some things Madeline left for Zoey now that she is eighteen first she left a savings account with 200 grand for you to use to go to college on and your living expenses."
"Wow she did that for me" said Zoey in disbelief.
"Yeah she wanted to make sure you wouldn't go without" he replied.
"That sounds like her she always put everyone before herself" said Zack.
"There is more that you have to know" said the lawyer.
"What else more could she have done for me I honestly wouldn't expect anything from her she gave me everything I needed from when I was born until she passed away" said Zoey.
Before the lawyer could say anything Maya came through the kitchen "Zoey there is someone here for you."
"Tell her boyfriend were discussing family matters right now" Zack interrupted.
"Its not Cole its another boy" said Maya as she stepped out the way to reveal a young man who looked Zoey's age who had light brown hair and blue eyes who looked similar to Zack "who the heck are you?" asked Zack.
"Are you Zoey Fizpatrick?" he asked the girl sitting at the table.
Before she could respond Zack interrupted her "why do you wanna know?" for some reason something seemed weird about this boy.
"Look this may sound insane and maybe you don't even know about me or maybe you do my name is Jake I'm your twin brother and I've been looking for years to find you and my mom. I don't know if you guys gave up looking for me or if you knew me at all but the second I found out my life was a lie I had to find the truth I had to find my family, my real family."
"No this is a mistake I was an only child I never had a twin brother" said Zoey.
"No Zoey this is what I was going to tell you, you did have a twin brother when the two of you were born someone abducted your brother but when the hospital found out he was gone the nurse tried to hide it by saying that he passed away...years later the truth was discovered and your mother was furious and she sued the hospital for being so irresponsible."
"Mom didn't even mention you, she wouldn't have cut you out, my mother was never like that" said Zoey.
"Zoey is right, Maddie wouldn't do that" said Zack.
"So wait Maddie didn't tell you about me?" asked Jake.
"Look the story is I just found out about Zoey four months ago I had no idea she existed until your mother died, and nothing was mentioned about a twin or son I'm sorry this just seemed so bizarre to me" said Zack.
"So you don't believe me that's fucking great" said Jake.
"I didn't say that, its just a lot to take in, all the crazy stuff that happened I feel like If I could have been there things could have been different, but If I would have been there I might not have had your youngest sister," said Zack.
Zack then stood up and looked at the boy "so your my son."
"I am it took me years of tracking you down but I found my sister, so where is my mom, my real mom?" he asked.
"My mom, I mean our mom she died, she got hit by a drunk driver she is no longer with us" said Zoey."
"Oh my god so I'm not gonna even meet her" said Jake he stood up walking over to give Zoey a hug but she stepped out of the way "all of this is just so fast, I want to get to know you, your my brother, my twin my last connection to my mother I just need some time to process this, I'm sorry" said Zoey as she walked out the room.
Zoey sat in the livingroom when Kyleigh walked up "who is that guy?"
"He I just found out is my twin brother he was kidnapped at birth" said Zoey.
"We have a brother?" said Kyleigh.
"Looks like it" said Zoey.
"It's overwhelming isn't you had this world this family this life and one person comes in and makes you question everything you believe about your family" said Kyleigh.
"Is that how you felt when I showed up?" said Kyleigh.
"It was my parents dated their senior year of high school fell in love got married and had me the perfect love story then we get told he has another child by another woman it tore that image apart, you and your mom were the perfect family she loved you dearly and did everything for you and then you find out that you had a brother out there a secret your mom kept from you then you realize your relationship wasn't as true and genuine as you thought," said Kyleigh.
"If I could ask her one thing it would be why didn't she tell me, that I do have a brother somewhere there isn't high hope of finding him but he's out there" said Zoey.
"Maybe she thought you would have too much hope in finding him that it could crush you if it never did, maybe she was trying to protect you from getting hurt" said Kyleigh.
Meanwhile Zack was talking to Jacob "so when did you find out that you were kidnapped?"
"I found out two years ago when I went to the emergency room for a wreck I got in and when they did blood work years ago they sent out a warning to look out for my blood type and dna and it matched the stolen child so they took me away from the woman who took me and tried to track you and Maddie down but couldn't find anyone so I was a minor at the time I escaped the system and tried to find you on my own" said Jake.
"How did you know you had a sister?" asked Zack.
"They told me about that I had a twin, didn't know I had another one though" said Jake.
"Yea she is mine and my wife Maya's daughter she will be sixteen next month," said Zack "so what exactly are you looking for by coming here?"
"Closure I guess, to let my mother know I'm alive and well, to meet my sister and you I guess, to meet my family" said Jake.
"Well since we know about you we can't just let you leave, your my son I feel like I need to help you get you on your feet, its the least I can do" said Zack.
"I couldn't ask you to do that, you barley know me" said Jacob.
"I'm your father its my job to help my kids all three of you in any way I can" he said.
Maya walked in to see Kyleigh and Zoey hugging "hey where did the guy go?" asked Maya.
"He's talking to dad, he is my twin brother" she said explaining the story to her.
"That story sounds completely bizarre" said Maya.
"For some reason I don't want to believe him and I don't know why" said Zoey.
"Then Zack and Jake walked in "hey Jake is going to stay with us its the least I can do after all this, is that alright with everyone?" he asked.
"I guess it has to be, because you made the decision without talking to me or your girls" said Maya as she went upstairs.
Zack followed her "what is this another Zoey situation he is my son, he was ripped from his family he is broken he needs help he needs me" he said.
This was starting to look just like how she reacted about Zoey, but it wasn't when she looks at Zoey she sees Zack in him her facial features her blue eyes, her smile she knew from first glace no doubt she was his daughter but when she looked at that boy she didn't see any traits of Zack at all other than hair color there is something not right about him and she was gonna find out, she was not going to let this boy possibly hurt her family.
