So herith is chapter 11, it's quite long again and thus took a while to write, but one of the weeks since I published my last chapters was when I was on holiday and I couldn't do anymore writing, so it took even longer than expected.

Oh, and I haven't properly proof read it for error, and stuff yet, so please feel free to review to say if you spot any errors. :)

Chapter 11; Homecoming

Luke's POV

On the plane going back home, I had the pleasure of sitting next to Aurora. But unfortunately, I was also sitting next to Emmy too, I was in the middle seat, with the Professor just behind us in the next row back. (That sounded like a football/soccer formation to be honest).

Nonetheless, I spoke to Aurora on the way home about things other than my feelings.

"Aurora,"

"Yes Luke."

"Um, where will you be staying when we get back to London? As well, you kind of don't know anyone other than the here of us do you…" I kind of tailed off at the end.

"I'm not at all sure. I'm not familiar with London Luke, so perhaps it would be best for the Professor to decide where I live from now onwards." She replied. So I asked the Professor.

"Well," He then paused. "Aurora could stay in the spare room of my apartment I think, you know the room don't you Luke. You've slept there a few times before haven't you?"

"That one? Oh that's right, I usually sleep there if it's late and I can't get back home. That usually happens after helping you prepare seminars Professor." I said cheekily, while grinning.

"That's it Luke." The Professor said. Emmy then began to speak.

"Oh, Professor, would you be kind enough to tell me where I will be staying tonight? At my place?"

"Yes, I think that wold be a good idea Emmy. I will give you a lift there in the Layton-mobile when we arrive home." The Professor said, holding his left finger slightly aloft and pointing up from the rest of his hand. This made me suddenly remember the Layton mobile, which we hadn't been in for quite some time now either. With its hard, but very much vintage seats and without its air conditioning, it wasn't the most popular makes of cars, but it had 'Layton' written all over it in terms of style.

"Okay, that's sounds good to me Professor." Emmy replied. "I'm looking forward to being back home, it will be the first time in a long time."

"Hey, me too Emmy. I can't wait to get back home either." I said, beaming at her. She smiled back at me.

We got the typical inflight meals while on the plane. A few horribly dry and burnt, char coal like in texture, lumps of chicken with carrots and rice. The rice was partially brown, as if it had been smothered in meat fat or something. Not even my usually never ending and wide appetite could help me consume this meal.

I noticed that I had eaten the most out of the four of us. Aurora wasn't an especially large eater while we were on our travels, and Emmy had been told specifically that she should only eat a few mouthfuls of solid foods per meal, and to consume mainly a thick, creamy drink which apparently contained loads of proteins and vitamins to help her body recover more hastily.

That plane journey dragged on a little longer, as I decided to try and get a bit of much needed sleep. I think I must have slept for about 45 minutes, before I was awoken by a strong poking in sensation in the side of my body. I awoke to so that, much to my surprise it was Aurora who was poking me.

"Poke him again, and harder this time Aurora." I could just make out Emmy's voice through my slumber which blocked and hindered my senses.

Immediately, I felt a much harder impact on my side now. It made me jump right out of my seat. I was fully awake, looking at Aurora, whose finger was pointed out from her fist and was holding back a few giggles. But I knew who had commanded her to poke me cruelly out of my sleep.

"Yeow! Aurora!" I yelped.

"S-sorry Luke, I" Aurora blushed, as I interrupted her.

"Hey, Emmy!" I began. "You could just tell Aurora to talk to me, or to tap me on the shoulder to wake me up. That hurt."

"Well, don't blame us that you are such a deep sleeper Luke, because the plane arrived ten minutes ago and we are the last ones on here. Aurora, already tried talking right next to your ear and tapping you, but you didn't reply, so…"

"You gave me a shock! Anyway, where is the Professor?" I asked, trying to calm myself, after the bruising and pain that was now strife in my waist where Aurora poked me.

"Oh, he went off ahead, with everyone else on this plane Luke, rather than hanging around snoozing like you." Emmy teased.

"I was Ti-ired. Anyway, now I'm awake, we should leave our banter for later and go catch up with the Professor."

"Oh, that's right, he said he had gone to collect our luggage at the terminal." Emmy remembered

"Shouldn't we be going then?" Said Aurora.

"Yes. Lets." I eagerly, itching to get back home and rest myself, properly, rather than on a stationary plane.

So we slowly began to get off the plane. We went slowly, because Emmy's injured state, so I carried her hand luggage, which was just a small light, brown handbag, which she usually had clipped on around her belt on her jacket. Luckily for me, the bag was very light, it only contained her camera and a few other things like pens, and a mini note pad. Aurora carried her own bag herself. From what I could remember, it only contain a few objects which I don't think she had used much. Emmy had bought them for her on the day when we went shopping at Kensington; that felt like an age ago now.

It took us several minutes to get from the empty plane, through passport control, to the arrival area. Which was a large hall, with a many rows of seats, all looking quite uncomfortable, packed with people wearing a great contrast of different clothes. People wearing scarves and overcoats like us had obviously come from much colder places than London currently was. People who were much more lightly clothed, had obviously come from hotter places, perhaps San Grio. The hall was heavily air conditioned, which made me glad I was still wearing a thick coat which I had bought in Froenburg, to help keep myself warm.

It didn't take us too long to find the Professor, who had already collected all of our luggage on a large trolley. Much to my astonishment, he was with my parents. Now this was much to my surprise, as I thought that they would both be at work still, as they sometimes were just like the professor, especially if it was a topic they both enjoyed.

"Mum! Dad!" I squalled loudly, as I suddenly dropped my things and ran a few paces towards them.

"Awww Luke, it's been so long. It's so nice to see you again!" Mum said, as she and my father hugged me tightly.

"Yes, lovely to have you back home Luke." Dad said, while ruffling my hair.

"I hope you had a great time on your adventures with the Professor and Emmy, oh and your friend Aurora too, Luke?"

"Oh, yes. Um, I'll tell you about that when we get back home. Because I'm re-ealy hungry at the moment. Is that okay with you two?"

"Yes of course if you like, do you want to just say you goodbye for now Luke."

"Are, so they are Luke's 'parents'." Aurora murmured quietly to Emmy.

"Yes, he is the only one out of the three of me, the Professor, and him, to actually still be living with his parents, at the age of eleven."

"Oh yes, I remember what you both said about your parents. I had a total of 12 parents, back in the Azran times."

"Back in the day." Emmy joked, then smiled.

So, I said my goodbyes, to all three of them, as did my parents to the Professor. Apparently they had been talking a little about work, and our adventure while they were waiting for me, Aurora and Emmy.

I think the Professor, Emmy and Aurora, got a Taxi out of the airport. It was expensive, but as always, the Professor has a lot of cash to burn considering his 6 figure yearly salary from the university.

It was certainly nice to be in my dad's car again. It was certainly more comfortable than the Professor's car, and it was quitter too. I sat in the back as ever, and for the first part of the journey, I watched the rural scenery go by my window. I had forgotten that the airport for London was so far out of the city.

So before we got back to London, a great deal of greenery passed by. Lush, dark green barrows, with bright wild fires spread randomly on the road side verge, these pretty flowers reminded me of Aurora, I wonder how she was getting on with Emmy and the Professor. I then remembered that I still hadn't told her fully about my feelings, and this somewhat annoyed and angered me, because I wasn't sure if when I would next get the chance to see her, as I would probably spend the next week with my parents; a break from helping the Professor.

The four lane road was mainly empty so we got back into London in only 15 minutes, then the road returned to just 2 lanes, and the traffic thickened, as we headed deeper into the city. There rest of the journey wasn't too scenic though, despite the imminent skyscrapers, not much could be seen, as the view was blocked by smaller much closer buildings that were low cost housing for the poor.

So I decided to tell my parents about what we had done while away from home, but I had been keeping them updated on my adventures most of the time, by writing letters back to them. Although I couldn't resist telling them of my adventures with the Professor, as it made me feel quite smart and clever, just like the Professor is.

"I take it that the Professor told you a lot about what we did while away back at the airport?" I asked.

"Mm, well only a lit dear, mainly about poor Emmy getting hurt, and your friend Aurora too." Mum replied. "But I'm sure you have much more to tell us about it don't you?"

"Oh of course. Yes, we had to go around the world for the five Azran eggs. They were in Denmark, Turkey, Brazil, California and the Congo basin. We went around in Professor Sycamore's airship, to all of these exotic places, and I had to buy quite a few new clothes, as the few that I took weren't quite right for the climates we visited."

"So that's why you had another big suitcase when you came back then?"

"Yes. After collecting the eggs, the Professor and Sycamore discovered that, the Azran legacy should not be revealed, because it was a story of suffering and death for those who revealed it. As we later found out, he was right. My friend Aurora is actually a super human created in Azran times, using genetic and medical technology far superior to today, using the bodies from 6 different young girls."

"My word!" My Dad gasped as I told him, he was especially astonished as he was a Doctor in a hospital in central London. As he said it the car swerved a little; he was quite shocked.

"Keep your eyes on the road dear, you can react to what Luke says later when we get home." My Mum ordered, sternly.

"Right, of course. How did the Azrans manage to carry this out Luke? Did Aurora a say?"

"She said something about 'perfectional breeding' to try and get the very best genetics to allow a human to live for hundreds or even thousands of millennia. But just doing it to one girl wasn't enough, so the best Azran doctors and surgeons of the time set about joining the six girls to make the one you saw at the airport today." I explained.

"The Azran people sound even further developed than we are today, or will be anytime soon, in terms of health care, surgery and medicines. But back to your adventure Luke, what then happened after discovering the Legacy should not be released or discovered?" My Dad asked quickly.

"Well, we went to Targent HQ, because one of the eggs had been stolen from us. So we went to retrieve the egg so we could finally make the Azran key to open up the Azran sanctuary. But it wasn't until then Professor Sycamore told us of the need to not unleash the legacy.

But then, we found out that there never was a Professor Sycamore, but it was Jean Descole in another of his disguises. He then stole the Azran key from us and left for Froenburg. It turns out both he and the Professor are brothers, and Leon Bronev was their biological father." I explained, I had been explaining for rather a long time now.

"Really! I've known Hershel for 16 years and the whole time, I never knew. And that fiend Descole, was he up to his filthy shenanigans again?"

"Neither did he really. Descole did all those things to get his own back on Bronev who abandoned the two of them at a very young age to dedicate his entire life to Targent. Which is a desperately horrible thing to do."

"That's all very well, but it's still not enough of a reason to go around destroying a town and manipulating me as the mayor, into letting him do so. Oh, and kidnapping my wife too."

There was still quite a long time for me to tell the rest of the story before we got home, the traffic was very slow at rush hour, despite the new rail links being opened recently.

"Yes, I believe he went far too far in the end just for revenge. After that, Targent ended up taking the Key from Descole, and unleashed the legacy by stabbing Aurora in the chest, with a dagger found in the Azran Sanctuary. It didn't kill Aurora because she actually had another Azran stone placed just in front of her heart by the Azran surgeons, which was cracked in the process, to release the legacy-" I said, but was then interrupted by my Dad.

"What was the legacy?!" My Dad asked hastily.

"Hundreds of golems with super strength. And they set about destroying Froenburg. Dozens of workers for Targent were killed, and a few residents of Froenburg were too. We managed to stop the onslaught by preventing any more power from being released to power the golems at the centre of the sanctuary."

"Well done Luke! That was very heroic by saving so many people." My Mum congratulated me,

"Thank you Mum." I said.

"But actually, as usual, it was the Professor's idea. But in the process, Aurora then revealed she would die very soon, unless she killed somebody. Bronev declared he didn't want to live so offered his life for Aurora's. I think he may have finally realised his wrong doing, and wanted to pay back the Professor, by letting Aurora live. I'm not completely sure though."

"Well he didn't sound like the nicest person I've heard of anyway. So you are good friends with Aurora now?" My Dad asked me.

"Yes." I replied, trying not blush as he spoke about Aurora.

I then told them the rest of the story, which certainly did made a drive through dark grey crowded areas of London more interesting than it usually was. Both my parents certainly did seem amazed at what I told them.

We eventually got home, and my stomach was famished, and rumbling in a deafening fashion. But fortunately, Doland had cooked dinner for us. I ate it rampantly, he definitely was as good at cooking meals, as he was at serving them and cleaning up too.

I went to bed at 8.30; I was that tired.

The next chapter will be Raymond carrying out the plan for Descole.
