Memoirs of the Nobel and Most Ancient:

Prompt: Apology

Narcissa stood by the window peering out at the snow-covered grounds. Her blue eyes watched as the flakes drifted down to join the rest on the ground. She was home on break from school, a welcome break she would've liked but that wasn't meant to be. Fighting erupted from the other room, fighting that was a normal occurrence at this point.

The door opened and slammed shut, causing Narcissa to jump a moment. She glanced over at the door, seeing Andromeda standing there by the door. "You're fighting again." The words left her mouth without even thinking as she turned back to the window, looking out amongst the snowfall once again.

There was a heavy silence for a moment as Andromeda stood there without saying a word, silently approaching the younger of the sisters. The two of them stood by the window watching the snow fall to the ground. "I wanted to say I'm sorry." Andromeda's words causing Narcissa to jump as they were unexpected.

"What do you mean?" Blue eyes never leaving the drifting snow as she spoke.

A small sigh before words came once again, "I mean that you have to hear the fighting."

"You don't have to, I mean it's just over silly teenage stuff, right?"

There was another pause as the two watched the snowfall from the window.

"Yeah, of course, just silly teenage stuff."

They both knew that was a lie.
