'Shiki Nanaya. Once a boy troubled by the new world he lived in, is now an acting member of the academy. His learning capability is astounding. His quick thinking and overall prowess with his studies make him a threat to be reckoned with. I wholeheartedly believe that he can do great things here. Even with his troubled past and his current predicament, I truly can't wait to see how he progresses as he begins his studies as a mage… but something begs me to question exactly what gives him the ability to cast magic. Who is Shiki Nanaya? What type of past lies within his bloodline?' – Colbert's Journal, Entry 75.

"Miero!" Shiki yelled out as he held the wand in his hand.
Feeling the vibrant energy course through his person, Shiki felt a large pulse within his core as the energy ricocheted out of control. His wand had formed the luminescent ball of light for only a moment before it shattered into dust. This created an unstable reaction as it reacted violently and imploded upon itself with the remaining energy that was left over.
"Okay, good. You're doing great Shiki, just be sure to get the shape down within your mind before you conjure through the word of power. Remember, it's not just the word that needs to be exact, but the-" he was cut off when Shiki intervened.
"Yes, I know. I need to have the object that I want to form be clear within my mind so it doesn't spark out of control. I understand that but how am I supposed to picture something as abstract as light?" Shiki asked, puzzled on how to proceed.
"Well, don't think of it as light… you're correct, it's too abstract. Nothing could be more abstract than light and shadow. It would be too odd for your mind to comprehend such things as a physical form since it has none. Even Fire, Earth and Water have a physical aspect to them but mastering things such as Air, Light, Shadow and things of that nature which don't have a physical aspect, it makes it hard to realize within your mind." The professor explained as he continued the lesson.
"I think it might be time to adjourn this 'class' and call it a-" once more, being interrupted by his student, Colbert couldn't help but smile as he heard Shiki protest once more.
"Please, again sir! I feel like I can understand it if I could just picture it!" He objected as he thought it over. "You said you needed three things in order to make a spell, correct?" Shiki asked, almost slightly redundantly as he pleaded towards the professor again.
As he was about to answer, something odd happened that neither Shiki nor the teacher expected. Out from the corner of his eye, a familiar female character came into the scene. Her scarlet hair flowed as she passed and with a great demeanor, fitting that of a noble, the woman stood tall as she took up her wand.
"You're correct and incorrect on that statement, Plebian." The woman said as she smiled at him with a look of yearning. "However, the professor forgot one major thing in his efforts to teach you. You can't just say the words of power and expect them to do everything to manipulate your spell." She explained as she took pointed her wand towards him. "You have to feel the embodiment of the words. Understand the power they hold behind them. Know what they can do and how they harmoniously sync with one another to create a true act of a miracle." She said before gripping her wand tightly.
Arcing herself back as she extended her arm in two, the female mage pointed towards the mirror on the far wall before uttering the words of power to create her spell. One of the words Shiki didn't recognize but the first one he knew all too well. Her form was perfect. Her aim was precise. Above all else, she looked like she was enjoying herself as she showed off what it meant to be a mage as she casted a spell towards the reflective surface.
"Miero Strei!" She commanded as the incarnation of the words took form.
Condensing into a ball, just like Shiki had tried to do a hundred times over, the compounding energy of light formed itself just as before. This time it was different though. As Shiki was about to ask what she had planned by pointing it towards the mirror, the ball of light jetted forth as it became a beam of energy. Reflecting off the surface of the mirror, the beam refracted into the chandelier above, ricocheting from glass surface to glass surface as it transformed the chandelier from a simple decoration to a worthy piece of scientific art as the beams of light arced onto the ground. This in turn shocked the young man as his jaw dropped from the sheer beauty of it all. If he could master the use of spells, would he too be able to do something like this?
It wasn't meant to be though as the light quickly faded as she broke her concentration on the spell. Looking over towards the dumbfounded young individual, the woman could do nothing but smile as to what was going through her mind. The oblivious Shiki and the dismissive Colbert didn't notice her deliberate gaze and it was quickly dismissed when the teacher intervened.
"Alright, I think that's enough Miss Zerbst." The professor said as he noticed from the corner of his eye the open door.
He hadn't kept note of it until now but the probability of his student eavesdropping into his classroom while he was teaching Shiki probably leaked out. He didn't know how they would react if they knew he was trying to teach Shiki magic… but then again it didn't matter. Plebians were unable to use magic anyways because of their ineptitude to do so from their bloodlines. It wasn't necessarily a rule against Plebians to learn magic; it was just an unspoken rule because they COULDN'T cast magic. There would be no point to teach a dog new tricks if the dog had no capability to do the tricks in the first place.
"Aw, but I was just having a bit of fun professor." The young woman said with a smile as she stared at the highschool wonder before her. "Besides, your little act has caught the attention of several students outside." She said as she pointed back at the slightly open door. Peering through were a few sets of eyes. Shiki couldn't quite make out who exactly was watching but he could tell from the sudden outburst that the pink-haired heroine was one of them.
Slamming open the door and brushing past seven students, Louise barged into Colbert's classroom with a look of rage about her. She wasn't exactly angry of where he was at since she found him in a matter of minutes; it's more over that he didn't check in with her before he decided to go. Then again, it probably wouldn't have mattered either way since she wouldn't have let him go in the first place… but who could reason with such logic? Regardless of the situation, she had the fiery pride and selfishness of a noble to let out and 'let it out' she would soon do.
"SHIKIIII!" She yelled out as she flicked up her wand, pointing it at the shocked man.
"W-Woah, calm down there Louise… there's no reason to-" He was cut off in his defensive statement as she began her outrage.
"No! Don't even start with me!" She interrupted him, clenching her wand madly as she fought back to not just blow him to smithereens. "First I hear that you've gone missing from the infirmary, then I hear you're running amok throughout the academy only to find you messing around up here!" She said in a rather quick tone, listing off all the information she had gathered as she tried to find him. "But not only that… worst of all… you had the nerve, the nerve, to step foot into the girl's locker room and spy on other girls in the school!?" she accused the man of lechery as she gripped the wand even tighter, pointing it almost point-blank range as she stood there in defiance.
"O-Okay… looks like you're misunderstanding something Louise…" Shiki said as he held both of his hands up, gripping the wand by his index finger and thumb as he raised them up in a surrendering gesture.
"…First of all, I didn't run amok in the academy." Shiki put delicately. "I simply found my way around the school to find Cobert-sensei's teaching room." He said with a harmless smile as he recalled the incident that took place in the girl's locker room.
Blushing at the thoughts that circulated in his head, Shiki had sealed his fate as his determination wavered. There was nothing he could do from that point forward. The storm had been unleashed. With a chaotic energy sifting through her body, Louise's hair seemed to float and waft through the air as if the power that welled up within her had started a chain reaction making her hair come to life as her anger peaked.
"Do you honestly think I would believe such things from you?!" She yelled out as she saw him blush. "Your face says it all you stupid dog!" she pointed her wand at the unduly familiar as she started to cast one of her 'spells'.
"O-Oh no… this can't be good." Kirche said as she looked at the other students in the hallway. "Everyone get back! This is going to be a big one!" She yelled as she took cover behind the podium.
"N-Now, let's be reasonable here Louise! We can't have you doing this here of all places! It'll break the foundation of the building!" Shiki tried to reason with the little ball of wrath as she pointed her wand at him with great resentment.
Not paying attention to a single word he was saying, Louise raised her wand to the sky as she started to say a few words of power. Shiki didn't take the time to hear what she was saying as he knew the inevitable result would come forth. If he wanted to escape the fiery explosion, he would have to move fast. Thinking quickly and moving his head around as if it were on a swivel, Shiki peered over to the other side of the classroom to see a window. It was adorned with a simple pair of curtains which were of a sweet vermillion color. He knew the fabric had to be at least of some quality since it was in such a prestigious school but that didn't really matter to him right now. What he only cared about were two things:
1: Would it hold his weight?
And 2: Would it be long enough to reach the floor below?
"S-Shit!" Shiki screamed out from his mind as he picked up his bearings and sprinted headlong at the curtains.
Dashing low to the ground, Shiki found that he was much faster than he normally could run. His breathing, despite his mind racing at a million miles an hour, was relatively calm as it maintained a steady beat. His body was in a better condition than he was used to. It could've been from the water magic that was used to heal his wounds but he couldn't be sure as he didn't know what they did to him exactly. All he knew now was that he had to get out of that room. Any second now the explosion would come forth and it would incinerate him and everyone else so he had to make her want to chase him.
Picking up the curtains in his hand, Shiki slammed himself into the glass. Shattering through it as if he were a wrecking ball, Shiki tugged on the curtains as he scaled down the wall. This made the first hinge of the bar break as he swung down lower and within a few seconds, the second hinge broke off and he was in a slight free-fall momentum. He was close to his goal. He had only a few more inches to go but he didn't know if he was going to make it or not. Using all of his strength and elasticity to stretch his arms forth, Shiki was able to grab the balcony with only his fingers as he latched onto the boundary that protected those from falling off of the scenic viewpoint.
Using his renewed strength, Shiki was able to hoist himself up with no real problems as he noticed the explosion from the floor above. It didn't look to be as big as he thought it was going to be but nonetheless, he wasn't going to stick around to see the pink-haired sprite come after him. With a newfound resolve to stay as far away from her as possible, Shiki took off towards the courtyard to gain a vantage point. If they were to clash, it would be best to be in an open area where he could dodge the explosions from the wrathful 'master' of his.
"G-Gotta keep moving." Shiki panted as he ran down the stairs.
Running past a few familiar hallways, Shiki came to a spiraling staircase as he came to a halt at the peak of it. Staring down, Shiki heard a quick pitter patter of footsteps in the distance as what then followed completely shook the very foundation in his being.
"SHIKI!" Louise yelled from the corridor, no more than 30 feet away.
Gasping, Shiki took flight as he sprinted down the stairs. He quickly passed up several students who were going about their daily routine, not noticing as he literally sped past them at the speed of lightning. Running into a cluster of them, most of them being girls, Shiki gritted his teeth as most of the female students shrieked in fear as the boy sprinted towards them. Using his demonic-like agility, the boy leapt over the cluster of seven students before going into a quick wall run. Using the curvature of the wall, he was able to glide himself down to safety behind them before taking a look back. Winking at the shocked students, Shiki received a disgusted response followed by the word he hated most in this world.
"Y-You damn Plebian! Watch where you're going!" One of them yelled at him.
"You watch! Behind you is an evil you wish to not be placed upon you!" Shiki yelled back as he continued forth.
"W-What the hell is he talking about-" he was cut off when he heard the stampede of a slightly infamous classmate of his.
"Get back here you damn mutt! I'm not finished with you!" She yelled as she barged past the group, knocking the young male down the stairs as she stormed past.
"Got to catch me first!" he pleaded back as she seemed to be able to keep up despite his quickened state.
Sprinting down the rest of the way, Shiki ran out into the courtyard as he turned around to see that his 'partner' had also reached the same area. Being only 50 feet away from one another, Shiki once again tried to communicate and hoped that his negotiations would go better this time.
"Okay Louise, you've caught me… now please just calm down and-" Once again being interrupted in his negotiations, Shiki sighed as Louise immediately retorted with her own sense of 'logic'.
"No! You have to be reprimanded for your actions Shiki! Peeping on others is strictly prohibited!" She declared to the disrespectful highschool boy. "Accept your punishment!" She yelled out as she casted her version of a fireball.
Strangely enough, this time it actually worked. It was so odd in fact that even Louise herself was shocked as it never seemed to work for her. For once in her life a spell worked out as intended and it was directed towards her intended target. Smirking at her own accomplishment, Louise tacked on one 'win' in her mind as she hoped to see Shiki fly from the blast.
"S-Shit! It actually worked?!" Shiki cursed his bad luck as he dashed to the side of it, hiding underneath the guise of the explosion as he slid behind the water fountain.
As the dust settled and the scene became more apparent, Louise started to look around for her perpetrator as she peered through the dust clouds. Her anger had slowly started to abate as she was now in a clearer state of mind. Her spell, that actually worked for once, had calmed her nerves as it took her mind off the 'atrocity' that she thought Shiki had done. Despite all this though, she was still angry at the young man. Even if she couldn't hurt him in the end, it would be enough to have him run around for a good two hours in order to get her point across. She would win one way or another.
"Come out Shiki!" She called out. "I know you're still here so be a man and come out!" She insulted him as she took a few more steps forward.
Raising his hands ever so slowly over his head, Shiki elevated his hands until they could be seen above the foundation of the fountain. He knew that he couldn't get close enough to her without him being seen so this was the best course of action. If she could remain calm enough for a few good minutes then he might be able to reason with her for a third time… he didn't think his chances were good, considering the trend that was going on, but he had to try anyways. He was fully against trying to hurt those he didn't wish to come to harm so he tried his best to avoid it completely.
"Don't shoot!" He pleaded as he slowly rose. "I'm unarmed!" he explained as he rose to his feet.
"I already know that you idiot!" Louise replied. "To be honest I didn't think you'd come willingly. You must have at least some honor under that disgraceful presence to do something like this." She further pegged on another insult towards the highschool boy.
"Now, accept your punishment and pay for your actions!" She responded once more, as if she were a broken record.
Trying to implement the same iteration as before, Louise tried to cast a fireball at Shiki. Regretfully, this didn't come to fruition and instead became a large explosive blast as it imploded on her. This time it was slightly different though. Thankfully, instead of it imploding on her immediately, the blast occurred in front of her, roughly 20 feet from where Shiki was.
This made the young man smile with relief as he thought he was dealing with something more lethal than 'Louise the Zero'. Under the cover of dust and particles which obscured his presence once more, Shiki sprinted forth. Through the guise of the temporary smokescreen he was able to reach Louise's position in three seconds, spanning a grand total distance of 50 meters as he had to move around the fountain to reach her without being seen.
Appearing from the smokescreen with lightning fast speed, Louise cringed with fear as she wasn't expecting the retaliation. Seeing him come straight at her with a speed unlike anything she had seen before, Louise flinched as he brought her arms up instinctively to protect her face. This covered her vision of the threat that came upon her and within seconds she was disarmed of her wand. Without her wand, she was nothing more than a little bit of a threat with a big temper to boot.
"H-Hey! Give that back!" She yelled at the boy. "Thief! Idiot! Stupid! Dog!" she started to spout out insults towards her oppressor as he held her wand high in the air, just out of reach.
"If I give it back to you, you're just going to start casting spells at me again!" Shiki protested, trying to reason with her. "If you just beha-"
Instead of being cut off from his speech by an interjection from an opposite party, Shiki completely stopped his own speech with his own volition. Granted, it wasn't because of his own well-being as he had just received a kick in the groin, but he stopped speaking nonetheless.
Keeling over in excruciating pain, the young man dropped the wand by accident. Thankfully he didn't need to worry about Louise grabbing it as he soon toppled over her from the way he was position. Crushing her with his larger stature, Louise could do nothing but scream in discontent as her familiar had pinned her there.
"AAAH! S-SHIKI! What are you doing!? Get off me!" She yelled out with displeasure as she wasn't used to being this close to someone who wasn't in her family. "Y-You're touching something that shouldn't be touched by someone so unclean such as you!" Louise started to panic as she felt something start to rub up against her.
"Y-You hit me in the one area that shouldn't be hit…" Shiki tried to retaliate as he rolled over into a fetal position. "…Oh the pain…" he groaned in agony as his groin raged on from the sheer pain of the bludgeoning.
"It's your fault for not heeding my words, stupid idiot." She replied with a scoff as she rolled away from him.
"W-What's that even supposed to mean?!" He asked in a confused tone from his fetal position. "You're the one that hit me and threatened to kill me!"
"That doesn't matter!" Louise barked back
"Yes it does! The whole reason I ran from you was because you wouldn't listen to me for a single second! You were so obsessed with your delusional fantasy of me peeping in the girl's locker room that you didn't- Oh the pain!" he curled up once more as he reeled from the ever-growing sting between his legs.
Not responding, Louise took a minute to look up to see the young boy curled over in complete vulnerability. She didn't necessarily feel bad for him since she knew the outcome if she hit such a place but she couldn't help but feel ignorant as she thought back on the whole situation. It was honestly the truth. Every time he tried to reason, she wouldn't listen. She just wanted to believe what she thought and wanted nothing else to get in her way of that belief.
Then again, it was unbefitting of a noble to not listen to others. It would be seen as disgraceful to charge someone, even if they were below you in the hierarchy, with something they didn't do. It made her grit her teeth as she started to think more on the subject. Without proper due process on accusing someone of an action reflected poorly on the mindset of one as her. If she put herself in a position of reproach it could put a bad label upon the Vallière Family and that was something she held near and dear to her heart.
Resolving to take the higher path and using what tact she had left to amend the situation, Louise stood up tall and proud... well, let's be honest the girl wasn't exactly the tallest person around with her only being 5 feet tall but still, she stood proud nonetheless. Looking down at the curled up boy, Louise sighed as she went over to pick up her wand.
"Okay. I understand." Louise said as she peered over at the boy again. "Make your case. Let's hear your explanation." She said before taking a seat on the edge of the fountain.
Looking up from the dirt, Shiki simply sighed as the pain started to dull itself away. The excruciating sensation that coursed through his body started to abate to just a minor sting as he started to recover. His posture still wasn't up to par but he was able to stand up, which was still a good start.
"Oh so now you want to now hear my story?" Shiki asked, slightly strained in his speech as he was still trying to recover from that devastating blow.
"Yes. Quit being facetious about it and start explaining before I change my mind." She retorted with a demeanor that Shiki had once seen before.
She wasn't angry anymore… at least on the surface. Shiki could tell that she was still a little agitated just based off the fact that it was too much of a 180 flip for her to be this calm but something was holding her back. Something was keeping the feline monster at bay so it made this opportunity present itself rather unexpectedly as Shiki was caught off guard from it all. Taking a deep breath and resolving himself to sit down next to the oppressor, Shiki began to talk.
"Look, you see this marking on my hand?" Shiki asked as he pointed towards the 'Shinigami Mark'. "I think I finally figured out how to use it. I wanted to go see Colbert-sensei about it and see what he could do to help. From there I stayed in his classroom trying to learn magic from him." Shiki said before Louise interjected.
"W-Wait a second, a professor is trying to teach you how to use magic? How is that even possible? You don't have the proper traits." Louise responded, thoroughly confused. "If you think that you're going to blatantly lie to me-"
"It's not a lie! I'm serious about this Louise! Whatever it is that's letting me use magic is…" He trailed off as he didn't know how to go forward.
"What? What is it? You can't just start something and then stop again." Louise reprimanded the boy as she tried pulling for more information.
"It has something to do with my eyes. For some reason they're connected to the same structure that you use for magic. Because of this, the professor thinks I may be able to cast magic and wield it for my own purposes." Shiki explained as he looked down to see the runic marking on his hand. "And this rune has a part to play in it as well." He added, trying to concentrate on it.
Sadly, nothing happened. It seemed to be useless to him since he only accidentally activated it by mere chance. It wasn't like an on/off switch where he could just 'will' it to come forth. He truly wondered why it activated right then and there. Was a certain criteria needed to be accomplished for it to activate? Was it just a coincidence? Too many unknown variables that were left unanswered started to circle through Shiki's mind as he thought more on it.
Without many answers he felt a little lost on why he felt such an impulse to find the old professor. Maybe he felt at ease knowing that someone was at least trying to help him with his problems. It was a reassuring feeling that someone cared for his well-being and it made it slightly more bearable knowing there might be a solution. Now that a possible solution was made apparent to him, it wasn't by mere chance that his mind felt at ease with relying on the inquisitive mage. He needed his help. He knew that he had the answers somewhere hidden in those books of his.
"So, you're telling me that you can possibly control magic because you have eyes that utilize the magical lines in the body?" She asked, wondering how this could make sense. "I mean… I guess it wouldn't be odd to have some sort of ability to manipulate magic through those means but it still wouldn't warrant the professor to teach you magic like this. There's something else you're not telling me Shiki." Louise pegged it on the nail as she stared at him.
"Y-Yeah… you're right. I have been keeping something from you. Or really, I've chosen not to talk about it directly since it's what I've been trying to fix for a long time." The young man said as he took a deep breath. "Look, it's better if I just show you rather than tell you." He said as he stood up, walking over towards one of the benches that lined the entire courtyard.
"Watch." He said as he put up his index finger. "With this finger alone, I'm going to destroy this bench." He said with a serious look so as to not beg for any questioning looks.
Inserting his finger into the bench, right where the point of origin was, Shiki had eroded the wood that made up the bench. It didn't take long before the wood splintered and creaked before being turned to sawdust. As if it were a vampire being basked in sunlight, the shards and speckles of sawdust melded into the ground as the bench had 'died'.
"W-What the hell was that?!" Louise asked, wondering how something could be possible.
She had seen something similar before. It was during the alchemy class when they were asked to make golems. The same thing had happened before where Shiki had destroyed the golem in one fell swoop. It was odd to her that this was just now making sense to her. It would be highly possible for a person of Shiki's stature to be able to take on a noble and win in a duel. If he could truly destroy everything he touched, he'd be able to easily take on a noble. What didn't make sense though was how he got that ability.
"I don't understand. You're just a commoner. How can you use magic to destroy everything you touch?" She asked, almost blurting out what she was thinking in verbatim.
"I… can see these lines." Shiki began as he remembered talking to the professor in the exact same way. "These lines are where I see the 'death' in everything… at least where 'death' is most prominent on them. This can be anything from objects of great proportions or simply the smallest organism trying it's best to move along with life." Shiki stated as he sighed.
"The only problem is I have no control over it. I can't make it go away since that's just how it is with my life." He said, recalling the incident at the hospital where he met his teacher.
"Look, I don't expect you to believe everything I say. A lot of this may seem odd to you but I'm telling you the truth. My eyes, at least in my world, are called the 'Mystic Eyes of Death Perception'… and as the name dictates, I can see the death in everything I see. I have no escape from this and as a side effect, it starts to hurt my eyes and my brain if I keep my eyes open too long." He said as his eyes started to develop the all too familiar migraine that he was used to experiencing.
"However… there is good news." He took a turn for the better in his speech as he looked down at the rune on his hand. "This world has given me a better resistance to the overall pain of using my eyes. In addition to this, I can probably get this rune to work so I can control when I can use my eyes… the only problem is I don't know exactly how to make it work." Shiki grimaced as he made eye contact again.
"I had hoped Colbert-sensei could at least give me a lead… but in the end I'm still stuck with nothing." He sighed, contemplating his next move.
"Then why teach you magic? It doesn't make sense to teach you magic if it doesn't help with your eyesight." Louise retorted, following along, albeit only slightly, on the conversation.
"Because I truly believe that Shiki can be something more than what is let on to believe." An old yet familiar voice stated from behind them.
Jolting up from the sudden intrusion to their conversation, Louise quickly turn herself around in a shocked expression as the teacher had gotten so close without them noticing. With a smile on his face, Colbert simply sighed as he knew the cat had now been let out of the bag.
"The reason I wanted to teach Nanaya-san about the inner workings of magic was because I knew his eyes had a similar connection to his magical circuits that lay within each and every single person." He started to explain himself as he knew that it would be misconstrued if he himself didn't bring it to light.
"It's my job not only as a teacher of magic, but as a scholar, to see what this young boy can do." He reaffirmed his position as he bestowed the wand that Shiki had dropped back in the classroom. "Continue your studies and I'm sure you'll be able to control those eyes of yours." The old teacher said with a genuine grin.
"Y-Yes, I'll continue to do my best sir!" Shiki said a he took the practice wand in hand.
Looking closely at it, Shiki sparked another memory from his past. Recalling the moment when he received his pocket knife with the letters engraved upon it as 'Nanaya' the young man let out a gasp as he recalled it had been missing since he was asleep. He didn't know how he could be so careless with something so precious to him but judging from the amount of things that happened today, he could forgive himself for his lapse in judgment.
"Um, Colbert-sensei… do you remember seeing my knife anywhere?" Shiki asked as he recalled it being enveloped in the blast from the 'Staff of Destruction'.
"Ah, yes. Your pocket knife had been shattered into several pieces. The hilt still remains undamaged oddly enough, but the blade is completely irreparable." The old man said as he pulled out the hilt from his garb. "I decided to hold onto it until you woke up but I must've forgotten somewhere due to my hastiness in wanting to teach you. I apologize." He said with a smile, bowing slightly as he had seen an error in his etiquette.
"S-So it's broken?" He asked, slightly saddened by the events that transpired. "Can't it be fixed in some way?"
"Well, we could try to reforge it in town but I do not know of any blacksmiths in the area with a reputable name. Perhaps Miss Vallière can help you with this endeavor?" The teacher posed the question towards the pink-haired girl.
"O-Of course! It's the master's duty to make sure that her familiar is taken care of so yes, I can easily help you. B-Be grateful I'm such a nice person." She crossed her arms, turning away from them both.
"Well there you go. I think with this we should rest for the day and get ourselves something to eat. I don't think you've eaten the entire day, have you Nanaya-san?" The mage asked, genuinely concerned for the well-being of his new student.
Not being able to answer quickly enough, a loud growl came from Shiki's stomach as the thought of food crossed his mind. Blushing slightly at the embarrassing display of his hunger, Shiki couldn't help but laugh as he felt a little more at home than he did when he first got here. He finally felt like he was adapting to this new world he was placed in. He still missed his home back in Japan, but he knew that it would be a very long time before he had the chance to get back.
Things were starting to look up. The sky was shining bright in the sky, the clouds that moved continuously across the blue put the boy at ease as he slowly became more accustomed to this life-style he was thrown into. However, as most avid readers out there know… as things always seem to get better, something more foul upon the horizon was just bound to be lying in wait.
And with that, Chapter 11. Sorry it took me a little longer than usual but at least I'm still putting out content right? Either way, I hope you guys enjoyed this Chapter. I found that this would be another good chance to note that I am still going to accept OC's (Original Characters) into this since, in all honesty, I absolutely hated the anime. So, because I'm going to be allowing this I'm going to need a few things from you guys.
1: A name. Everybody's got one, everybody needs one.
2: Personality. Once again, everybody's got one and everybody needs one. Let it make sense so I can accurately depict them in what you want them to be like in this story. I find it will make the experience that much better and it will bring your character more to life with the more information I have.
3: Any quirks or anything odd about this person. Not all people are normal everyday people. They have problems, they have things in their past that make them special. It's the main reason why everyone likes characters is because of those odd quirks. Make them interesting!
4: Appearance. Pretty straight forward... give me a good description so I know what I'm working with.
