Hey everybrony, I know it's been awhile since I've updated this extremely popular story, but let's continue. And I think some of you will enjoy who appears in this chapter.
Morning was upon the kingdom of Canterlot. In his room, the young Prince Pipsqueak was in his bed, sleeping the day away. It was at this moment however that his mother, Princess Luna poked her head through his door. She turned her head to the right to see her son's pet shadow wolf asleep in its little doggie bed.
Luna smiled and had an idea. She lit her horn up and levitated fang with her magic which woke him up. Luna held a hoof up to her lips for him to be quiet. She then moved him towards Pip's head and released her magical hold upon his pet, making him fall on her son's bed next to him. Fang wagged his tail and repeatedly licked his owner's face.
"Ah! Fang, cut it out!" Pip laughed as he held his pet back. He sat up and held him in his arms.
"Good morning, my little prince of the night" Luna said to her surrogate foal as she walked in.
"Hey mom" he said back, smiling at her.
"Come on, it's time for breakfast" she said with a smile and turned around, walking down the hall. Pip's stomach then growled.
"Come on, Fang" Pip said as he and his wolf hopped of bed and headed out to the dining room.
-Breakfast-
The royal family was now eating breakfast. Luna was eating a fancy breakfast sandwhich while her son was eating a bowl of cereal, and his beat was eating a bowl of fancy dog food.
"So tell me, how are your friends, sweetie?" Luna asked Pipsqueak.
"They're fine. The boys and I get along pretty well" he replied.
"I know that. You're a good boy" Luna rubbed the top of his mane. "I mean, it only makes sense that you have good friends. And best of all, you've met a lot of ponies here in Canterlot" she said.
"Oh, but he hasn't met everypony, Luna" a voice echoed in the room, making everypony in the room look up at the ceiling. To make matters worse, this was a voice that both Luna and Celestia knew all too well...
"Pip, honey, go to your room..." Luna told her son without even looking, having a stern look upon her face.
"Why?" he asked.
"Don't ask. Just do as I say" she said. Pip could tell she was being serious.
"Ok, mom... if say so" he agreed without question.
Pip hopped out of his seat and head towards the exit. He was about to head to his room, when a creature appeared in front of him.
"Hello, young Pipsqueak" the creature said to him.
"Mom... who is this?" Pipsqueak asked, backing away a bit.
"*sigh*... Pipsqueak, this Discord. Discord, this is Pipsqueak" Luna walked up behind her son as she introduced him to the to the draconequus, having a very annoyed look upon her face as she looked at Discord.
"Discord?" Pip was confused.
"What are you doing here?" Celestia asked as she stood next to her younger sister.
"Just thought I'd stop by and a little fun with Pip" Discord said, a claw up against Pip's chin.
"You're not coming anywhere near him!" Luna said, holding Pip close to her.
"Come now, Princess Luna. I'm reformed, remember?" Discord reminded her. Luna quickly glanced at her sister then back at Discord.
"Even so, I don't want you corrupting my child with your mischief!" she pointed a hoof at him.
"I don't see it as mischief, more like harmless chaos" he lightly corrected her. Luna rolled her eyes. "Besides, I think Pip could learn a thing or two from me"
"What he could possibly learn from you?!" Luna asked.
"Luna, may I talk with you for a moment? Alone..." Celestia asked.
"Fang, protect Pipsqueak" Luna told the wolf while she and her sister walked out into the hall to chat.
Fang growled at Discord as he stood in front of his young master.
"So what is it that you wanted to talk to me about, Celestia?" Luna asked, both sisters now in the hallway.
"Look, little sister..." she began. "I'm not trying to tell you how to raise your son. But maybe Discord has a point..." she stated.
"What?!" Luna was shocked by what her sister said.
"I know. I know. You don't want Pip being around a bad influence like Discord" she said.
"You bet your royal flank I don't!" Luna said with a look of annoyance.
"Relax, Luna. I'm just saying that maybe you should give Discord a chance" Celestia said. Luna gave her a deadpan expression. "I don't like the idea any more than you do, but he has a point. You can't protect Pip forever. No matter how much you love him, eventually there'll be a threat to Equestria that you might not be able to protect him from" she said.
"I can try. I'm his mother, after all" Luna said, her eyed closed with a serious look.
"Will at least trust me on this?" Celestia asked. Luna gave a raised eyebrow.
"Fine! I'll give him a chance. ONE chance!" she emphasized.
"Thank you, Lulu" Celestia nodded.
"I hate it when you call me that..." Luna mumbled under her breath in annoyed tone. Celestia giggled and they headed back to where Pip was, only to find him stuck to the ceiling and his pet had shrunk to the size of a bug. Both sisters glared daggers at Discord.
"What?" Discord asked. Their expressions hadn't changed. "Oh, alright" Discord snapped his fingers and Fang returned to his original size.
Pip on the other hoof, was released from the ceiling. He would've hit the floor if it weren't for his mother catching him in her hooves. She lovingly nuzzled her child's head, and then set him down.
"Discord, my sister has something she'd like to say" Celestia said.
"*sigh*... I should hit myself for saying this" Luna began. "Discord... you can spend the day with Pipsqueak" she said through gritted teeth, holding back her annoyance for the draconequus.
"Really?" Pip and Discord asked simultaneously in surprise.
"Yes. But I don't want to see even a single scratch upon his face, do you understand me?" She said sternly.
"But of course" Discord replied in a half playful tone. Luna rolled her eyes as Discord walked past her. Pip was about to walk past her as well but she quickly extended out a wing to stop him.
"Remember, if Discord gives you any trouble, just come back and I'll have Twilight and her friends turn him back into stone" she whispered to him.
"Ok" Pip replied and nodded.
"Now go on, have fun" she playfully rubbed the top of his head. Pip ran up to where Discord was. "Be careful, sweetie" Luna said to herself quietly with worry.
"Come, Pip, let us have some fun" Discord said and with a snap of his fingers, he and Pip teleported away. Luna sighed with a bit of worry.
"It'll be Ok, Luna" Celestia said, placing a hoof on her sister's shoulder.
"Then why do I feel like regretting what I just did?" Luna asked with her ears lowered.
"You're a mother, Luna, it's your job to worry about your foal" her sister told her.
"I know. I just want him to be safe..." Luna said, hold a hoof to her chest.
-With Pip and Discord-
Having teleported, Discord had transported himself and Pipsqueak to the outside of the castle.
"So tell me, Pipsqueak, what would the son of the princess of the night like to do?" Discord asked. "Perhaps we could go to Neighagra Falls for a swim" Discord teleported behind him, wearing swimwear.
"Umm..." Pip tilted his head.
"Or maybe we could go to the Everfree forest and prank the ponies of Canterlot with poison joke" Discord offered, appearing in front of him in his normal state.
"Actually, I was wondering if we could go to Ponyville so I could visit my Ponyville friends" Pipsqueak suggested.
"Oh, is there a certain pony you want to see?" Discord asked with a grin.
"Yeah, all of my friends" Pip said.
"But isn't there a certain little unicorn you wish to see?" Discord asked playfully.
"What?" Pip tilted his head in confusion.
"Oh please, Pip. We both know you want to see your little girlfriend, Sweetie Belle" Discord said teasingly.
"What?! Sweetie Belle is NOT my girlfriend!" Pip denied heavily while pointing a hoof at him, blushing angrily.
"Oh really?" Discord raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, really. Can we please go to Ponyville now?" Pip asked, looking of to the side, now blushing with embarrassment.
"Alright, fine, have it your way, young prince" Discord said half jokingly with a snap of his fingers and they were once again transported.
-Ponyville-
In the town of Ponyville, four friends were spending time at Sugarcube Corner, each drinking milkshakes.
"So Rumble, you ready for the upcoming Equestria Games?" Scootaloo asked excitedly.
"Yeah. I mean, that's not for another several months, but yeah, can't wait" he replied.
"What I'm wondering is where it's gonna be held" Applebloom commented.
"Who knows? Only time will tell" Sweetie Belle said.
"Well, I hear the Crystal Empire will be a contestant for where the Games will be held" a voice said from behind them. They all turned to see a familiar face.
"Pipsqueak!" all four friends said excitedly, happy to see their friend.
"Hey guys, long time no see" Pip said as he walked up to the table.
"Yeah, it's been awhile. Did your mom drop you off or something?" Rumble asked as Pip sat down.
"Uh, no, she didn't actually..." Pip told him, looking off to the side.
"Wait, then how are you here?" Applebloom asked with a confused look.
"Yes, Pip, do tell them how you arrived here today" a voice said.
"Oh, Celestia, no!" Scootaloo said with eyes widened.
"Yes. Hello, children, enjoying your little playtime?" Discord asked, appearing behind Pipsqueak.
"Discord!" the others said with surprise.
"You're the one who brought Pip here? Wait, what are you doing with Pip in the first place?" Sweetie Belle asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Princess Luna agreed to let me spend the day with Pipsqueak. He should at least get to know what the spirit of chaos is like, am I right?" Discord said, lifting Pipsqueak with his lion paw.
"Likely story. Like Princess Luna would ever let you near her son!" Scootaloo pointed a hoof at him.
"What I'm saying is true. Tell them, Pipsqueak" Discord said.
"It's true..." Pipsqueak confirmed, hanging his head while looking off to the side.
"Huh, that must've been hard for your mom to agree to" Sweetie Belle said.
"Yeah, I could tell by the tone in her voice when she was talking to Discord" Pip said with his ears lowered. "I wonder what she's doing right now"
-Canterlot castle-
Back at the castle, Celestia was sitting on her throne, doing paperwork as part of her royal duties. While Luna, on the other hoof, was in front of her sister, pacing around back and forth with a worried look upon her face.
"Where are they? How long has it been?" Luna asked worriedly under her breath.
"Luna, they've only been gone for 20 minutes" Celestia told her little sister. Luna glared at her. "I know, I know, you don't trust Discord with Pipsqueak" she said, knowing why her sister was giving her that look.
"I don't know what's worse, you trusting Discord or the fact that my son is spending time with him" Luna said, looking down with a serious look. "What if he's torturing the little one?"
"Now, Luna, even Discord wouldn't harm a foal that young. I'm as skeptical about Discord as you are, but you really shouldn't worry so much" Celestia told her sister.
On the outside, Luna kept the same expression as she did before. While on the inside, however, she felt like she wanted to just slap her sister like crazy... while at the same time knowing she had a point. Luna let out a long sigh.
"I think I'll take a walk around Canterlot to clear my head" she told Celestia.
"I think that would be best" Celestia agreed as she watched her younger sister walk out of the throne room.
-Canterlot-
As she stated before, Luna was taking a walk through Canterlot, hoping to clear her thoughts. Normally her personal guards would go with her, but she ordered against it. She also knew her subjects were looking at her as she walked, but it didn't both her much.
Her walking, however, was interrupted by her stomach growling.
"Hm. I suppose I did have a light breakfast..." she said to herself. She looked around to see if there were any acceptable restaurants to eat at.
What she had found was, not a restaurant, but a donut shop.
"Joe's Donut Shop? This sounds like a place Pip would be interested in" Luna commented. "Well, I guess I couldn't hurt to give it a try" she said.
The princess of the night walked towards the building and entered the shop, the door opening with a ding. Up at the counter was a tan unicorn stallion. He turned around to his surprise to see the Princess Luna herself.
"Princess Luna! What an honor it is to have you here in my shop" The pony who was most likely Donut Joe said with a nervous bow.
"Um, your welcome? And no need to bow please, it's embarrassing" she said with a light smile.
"Sorry. So what can get for you, Princess?" Joe asked.
"I'll have two glazed donuts and a cup of milk" Luna said, ordering of the menu.
"Coming right up" Joe said, going to make her order.
Luna went to go take a seat at a nearby table, sitting down with her arms crossed. A few moments had passed and Joe had brought Luna's order.
"Two glazed donuts and a milk for the princess, on the house" Joe said, giving her her snack.
"Thank you" Luna replied with a smile. She then levitated one the donuts with her magic and looked at it with a tilt of her head. She had never had a donut before. Would it taste good?
With a shrug of her shoulders, Luna took a bite out of her first donut. Her eyes shot open.
"Oh... my..." Luna said at a lost for words with a hoof covering her mouth. The flakiness of the bread; the sweetness of the glaze. Luna's mouth was now bursting with flavor.
"So good" she said, taking another bite of the donut. "Once I'm done with these two, I'll order a dozen more for Pip and I to share" she added. "I swear, if Discord has left even a scratch on his face, I'll have Twilight and the others turn him back to stone, and then I'm going to blast his stone body to dust!" she said angrily as she gulped down her milk.
Knowing what kind of mother she was, she'd probably do it too...
-Ponyville-
Back in Ponyville, the five foals and Discord were headed to the park.
"So Pip, is Discord going to be following you around all day?" Sweetie Belle asked him in a whisper so Discord wouldn't hear.
"Apparently, yes" Pip whispered back.
"Let's just hope he doesn't do anything to screw our day up" Scootaloo added.
"Let's hope to mom that he doesn't" Pip thought in his head.
-Ponyville Park-
The five friends (and Discord) had eventually made it to the park. Since Pip and Rumble were gentlecolts, they decided to let the girls pick where they wanted to play.
"I want to play on the swings" Sweetie Belle rushed towards the swing set.
"Me too!" Scootaloo said as she and Applebloom rushed towards the swing set as well. At that moment, Rumble had an idea that he wanted to share with Pip.
"Hey Pipsqueak, I've got an idea. Why don't we help push the girls on the swings? You push Sweetie Belle, I push Scootaloo" he told him.
"So you do like Scootaloo" Pipsqueak teased with a smirk.
"Be quiet!" Rumble said, blushing madly and with embarrassment. "I just thought since we're both gentlecolts, we'd help the girls out by giving them a friendly push on the swings"
"Or you just want to get closer to Scootaloo" Pip replied jokingly.
"Let's just help the girls, Ok?!" Rumble said with flat expression. Pip snickered and followed his Pegasus friend to the swing set. "Hey girls, want a push on the swings?" Rumble asked.
."Sure, thanks boys" Scootaloo agreed, her friends agreeing with a nod. Pip went behind Sweetie Belle and Rumble went behind Scootaloo and began lightly pushing the fillies higher.
Discord saw the foals playing and got a devious idea. "Can't resist a little chaos" he said quietly under his breath. He then snapped his lion fingers and did something to the swing that Sweetie Belle was playing on something began to happen.
The next thing they knew, the young unicorn filly was spinning out of control. Soon the swing stopped, but when it did, Sweetie Belle was sent flying.
Pip's widened in surprise and he chased after her. He would then throw himself in front of her at the last moment, catching her and landing on his back with her on top.
"Ow..." Pip groaned upon impact of hitting the ground. He heard the sound of Discord chuckling in amusement. "Not cool, Discord. Not cool" he said with a straight face.
"Thanks for saving me, Pip" Sweetie said in thanks to earth pony prince. Pipsqueak blushed at how close she was to his face.
"Ok, I kinda want to go home now..." Pip thought in his head, not wanting to be so close to the filly on top of him, despite liking how it felt. "Uh, you're welcome, Sweetie Belle" he got her off of him. "But I think my mom wants me home now. See you guys. Let's go, Discord" he said quickly as he approached Discord.
"Don't you want to spend more time with your friends?" Discord asked jokingly.
"Just take me home, please!" Pip begged with an awkward blush.
Discord chuckled. "As you wish" he said with a snap of his fingers.
-Canterlot Castle-
"Sister, I'm back from my walk" Luna said as she walked into the throne room.
"Wonderful. Did it help you change your mind about Discord?" her sister asked her. Luna was silent as she gave her sister a glare. "I'll take that as a 'no'" she guessed, knowing the expression her sister had.
It was at that moment that a quick flash of light appeared between the two sisters. It was Pipsqueak and Discord.
"Welcome back, Pipsqueak" Luna greeted her son in her motherly tone and a warm smile to go with it.
"Hey, mom" he greeted back, nuzzling his mother's chest in an embrace. Luna looked closely at Pip.
"Amazing, you don't seem to have a scratch on you" she said as she examined her child's body.
"Yeah, I'm fine" he told her with a reassuring smile. Luna smiled back and held Pip in her arms, giving him a hug.
"You got lucky" Luna mouthed at Discord with an almost threatening glare at him. "Come on, Pipsqueak, I got us a box of donuts in my room we can share" she told him as she set her foal down. Pip walked with Luna to her room, where they would share a box of pastries.
"Well, my job is done. So long, Celestia" Discord said, and then teleported away.
-Castle gardens-
Discord had teleported himself to the gardens of the castle. He was by himself, at least... until he heard a voice.
"Did you do it?" the voice said, making Discord turn his head.
"Blue blood"
"Answer me. Were you able to get rid of the boy?" The erogant prince asked with an eyebrow raised, wanting an answer out of him.
"No, I couldn't do it. I maybe the spirit of chaos, but it isn't in me to harm a child. Especially a princess's child" Discord said in all honesty.
Blueblood groaned in annoyance as he rub his temple with his hoof. "It's like they say: if you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself" Blueblood said to himself, and then stormed off back inside.
There you go guys Chapter 11. sorry this took so long, I had a hard time writing Discord's character.
On a side note, there will be a side story to this story that will take place between this chapter and Chapter 12, so be on the lookout for that.
