Erika POV

"So what are you gonna do now?" Zayne asks, watching me play with the strap of the backpack.

"I Don't know." I shrug, still playin with the string, I grab the string that hangs from the strap and play with the end of it with my fingers.

"Should I... Should I check on them?" He looks at the closet nervously.

"If you want." I say. "I'm not going to stop you."

"I probably should." He slowly walks to the closet door and opens it. We both look to see G, who has Will in a chokehold. He slowly closes the door back, eyes bulging. All you can hear is G laughing "Mwahahaha, no one can see you now!"

I roll my eyes. "Pai-" I feel a wave go through me. I go still and listen, everything is silent. "Antossity." I whisper. My cat pops her head up, her beautiful magma eyes seeming to blaze like fire, focused. "Please tell me you felt that too and I'm not going crazy." The cat gives me a confused took.

The closet door slowly cracks open. "You're crazy, but I felt that too." I hear G whisper from the closet.

I start to hear light meowing coming from the corner, I look over to see an orange Cymric. "Hey kitten."

"Holy shit, where did that thing come from?!" Zayne screams.

"Probably from under my bed, that damn cat is lazier than mine and G combined." I shake my head.

"You fucking cat stealer!" G shouts from the closet.

I roll my eyes. " I didn't steal your damn cat."

"Yes you did! It's not fair you get to keep both cats and I don't get any!" G cries.

"I didn't steal your damn cat! He just hides under my bed when it wants to be left alone." I explain.

"He"s always under your bed!"She complains.

"You never leave him alone, you're worse than I am!" I comment, shaking my head.

"It's my cat, I can do whatever I want!" She shouts.

"Apparently he doesn't agree." I look over at the disgruntled cat.

"Whatever." G grumbles, crossing her arms.

"Whatever." I mock, grinning. "Well, see ya." I begin to walk towards the door.

"Where are you going?" G and Zayne both question.

"Exploring." I shrug. "Curious what that was."

"Ooh, I'm coming too!" G jumps out of the closet. "Adventure time!" She shouts in a dramatic pose.

"You're an idiot." I shake my head at her.

"Thank you madam." She bows.

"I'm officially done with you." I walk away.

"No! Don't leave me!" G cries. "Baby come back! You can blame it all on me!"

I walk out and slam the door for emphasis of my annoyance with her, Antossity trailing behind me as I walk.

Paige POV

I nearly trip over Zayne to grab my laptop. 'Can't leave without that. It's like my purse, I got everything in it.' I twist around and scoop Kitten up before turning to the boys. "You want to go with or do you want to stay and raid our pantie drawer?" I snark at them.

"With! We'll go with." Will turns bright red.

Zayne rolls his eyes and stands from his spot on the floor, then Will finally shuffles out of the closet and joins us. I let them out ahead of me while I search my pockets for a piece of paper. Before we leave, I slip it between the door and the frame. Catching up to Erika wasn't hard, especially since she gets stopped by two girls; Maggie and Cass. I hadn't spoken much to Maggie, but she seemed sweet. Cass reminded me a bit of Erika, except she projected this 'laid-back, but mature' vibe that Erika didn't have. I mean, Erika is kinda laid-back, but she's more 'in-your-face' than the taller girl.

The orange haired girl offers a shy smile and a quiet 'hi', while Cass grins lazily and nods to us. "Hey Maggie, Cass." I grin broadly at them while gesturing to Zayne and Will. "This is Zayne and Will. Boys, these two lovely ladies are Magdalena and Cassandra. Great, now we're all introduced!"

"Good job." Erika lazily mumbles, sarcasm dripping off her words.

"Thank you!" I beam.

Maggie turns to Erika. "So what were you trying to ask me?"

"Oh, right. That's actually why we're here, we felt something a minute ago, it was weird. Maybe like a shockwave or something? I don't know." Erika seems to struggle to find a way to describe it.

"My hands are still tingling from the sensation." I add.

"Anyways, I was just wondering if you guys felt it too and might know what it was?" Erika looks at both of the girls.

"Hmm, I didn't feel anything..." Maggie thinks.

"I haven't felt anything either." Cass agrees.

"I can't think of anything that would have caused you guys to feel anything like that." She continues to ponder.

'It looks like it bothers her that she doesn't have any ideas, I wonder just how smart she really is. Probably a lot more than she shows.' I think.

Erika nods. "That's why I de-"

"We." I interrupt, jumping back into the conversation.

"Why I," She continues, ignoring me. "decided to investigate." She makes a face at me.

"That's a good idea, and we could help. Lead the way." She nods at Erika.

"I've got a bad feeling about this..." Zayne grumps.

"Too bad!" Erika and I chorus.

"Wait, how are we going to find out where it even came from?" Cass points out.

"We use the force." I give her the most serious face I can muster.

"And you still haven't seen that." Erika complains.

I roll my eyes. 'Que judgy look number four.' "So?" I cross my arms defensively.

Erika lets out a sigh of exasperation. "You can't make references to something you've never seen."

"I still make Doctor Who references." I point out.

"I know, stop it." Erika looks annoyed.

"No." I grin.

"Girls, girls, you're both pretty!" Cass intervenes. "Let's go already!"

"Aye aye, captain!" I salute her.

Erika rolls her eyes then slowly walks towards the door that leads outside, shaking her head. I trail behind, narrowing my eyes as I observe our group. 'It's a decently well-rounded group, overall. There's Zayne as the voice of reason, Will as the mascot, Magdalena could maybe be the brains, Cassandra could be the heart of our group, Erika would be our ringleader, and me being... Huh, I guess it's not so easy to see what my roll is exactly. Maybe I'm kind of a wildcard? Really, I'm not tough enough to be the muscle, and plus Erika kind of has that covered. I'm not clever enough to be brains, not idealistic enough to be the dreamer, but too in my head to be the rationalist, and too energetic to be the downer. Maybe I could be the motherly type? I don't know... Doesn't matter too much I guess.'

"Okay, I'm bored." Erika announces as we're walking.

"I'll ease your boredom!" I jump into a dramatic pose in front of her.

"How?" There's that 'no' expression on her face.

"Tag!" I jab her stomach and make a run for it.

"Aughhh!" She doesn't chase me, but she does eventually say "Tag!" in a loud, albeit monotone voice.

"What? That's not how you play tag!" I complain at her.

"Too bad." She grins teasingly at me.

"Well I got your phone, still don't want to chase me?" I taunt.

"You don't have m-" She stops, realizing her pockets are empty.

I pull out her phone and wave it in front of her, but not too close. "What? What was that?" I tease. "So, still don't want to chase me?"

"Oh, it's on now bitch." And thus, our epic tag battle begins. Things start to get more ridiculous as we go, each of us diving after the other. Okay, maybe it was just me and Erika trying to tackle everyone. Will even goes as far as to climb a tree to get away! 'Ha, can't get the drop on me!' I eventually crash into someone from attempting to run backwards. I turn around and oh, fuck me, this guy is tall. 'So, I have now collided with a Son of Erebus. Yep, that's just great.' I look up to see hooded emerald eyes staring down at me with one dark copper red eyebrow raised. 'He's got to be at least 6"5!' I get a good look at the giant in front of me. He has messy copper hair, with a shadow of facial hair covering his well-defined face, and yet he doesn't look much older than us. 'Hmm, I'm thinking Irish? Black Irish maybe?' I try to figure out while giving the straightest face I can supply.

"Hi." My voice squeaks and I can feel my face heat up. "I'm not sure if you know this, but you're unfairly tall."

"Hm." He seems amused. " No, if you hadn't had told me I would have never known. You would think with me being so tall, it would be much easier to spot me, thus avoiding running into me like you just did."

An accent. He's got a fucking accent. Holy fuck. I turn towards Erika, who looks like she's about to jump in. "Sorry E, I'm replacing you. It's not me, it's you." I have no remorse in my voice.

"Well that's okay, because I never loved you." I can see her form start relax as she continues to walk closer, analyzing him.

"I'm Paige." I beam up at the red headed behemoth in front of me. "Paige Lasardi, It's a pleasure to meet you."

"I'm Ambrose." He chuckles.

Erika POV

By the time I reach G, I can already tell she's fully distracted. "I'm Ambrose." The male in front of her chuckles.

I'm behind her in an instant, my left hand on her right boob and my right hand between her legs, practically in her crotch, before she can do anything. "And this," I look in dead in the eye, only closing my eyes for a moment as I take a long inhale of her neck, only to look him in the eye again. "Is mine."

"GODDAMMIT ERIKA, WHAT THE HELL!" She screams, blushing so hard even her arms start looking pink. I bust out laughing. "That was not funny!" She yells at me.

"Yes it was." I continue laughing, wiping tears from my eyes. "She has chlamydia by the way."

She starts to look purple. "I do not! Shut up Erika, go away!"

"I can't leave, Angel. I love you too much." I pout at her.

"No you don't." She says flatly, looking as embarrased and pissed as can be. "Yes I do! I change my mind, he can't have you. I don't want you to go, I miss you!"

"It hasn't even been 2 minutes." You can hear the annoyance in her voice, but at least the red faded slightly.

"I'm sorry Pet, I didn't mean to make you so upset, forgive me. Please take me back." I beg.

"Don't call me pet." She folds her arms and glares at me, waiting for me to stop.

"Just so you know, I've claimed her. In every way possible." I say to Ambrose, making her turn darker again.

"Erika!" She shrieks at me.

"I know you're waiting for the moment I stop embarrassing you, but that'll never happen." I tell her. She just rolls her eyes at me.

She eventually eases up and sighs. "Love you too, Jerk."

I grin at her. "Bitch."

Eventually the others catch up to us. Well, all but one. I look at the group. "Hey, where's Will?"

Zayne rolls his eyes and huffs. "Still in that damn tree, I couldn't get him to come down."

"Well, I'm afraid he's going to have to." Ambrose interrupts. "The High Priestess is summoning an assembly in the auditorium, the entire school is expected, including your little friend Will."

"Well I'm sure everyone seems little to you." I comment.

"Erika!" G practically shrieks.

"What?" I whine. "Man I swear, I'm always in trouble. I didn't even do anything!"

"You were being rude!" G chastises.

"So groping your friend in public and shouting that she has chlamydia counts as nothing? I wonder what else you manage to get away with." Ambrose remarks.

"What?!" The entire group of friends around us shout.

"Shut it." I glare at him.

"Alot. She get's away with alot, too much in fact. Spoiled brat." She mumbles that last part.

"I don't get away with nearly enough if you ask me." I cross my arms.

"I don't think anyone did." Ambrose chuckles.

I eye him. "I like you. I give you permission to insert your tubesteak into my friend."

"Erika!" G shouts again.

"Wow, you really love screaming my name." My grin reaches from ear to ear, as I wiggle my eyebrows at her.

G hides her face in her hands. "Oh my god, please shut up."

"Wow, you said please? You must really be desperate for me to stop." I continue to tease her.

"That and unlike you, I actually have manners." She looks back up to glare at me.

"Ooh, that was cold, Babydoll. Like your heart. Or mine, I can't tell anymore." This makes G just shake her head and roll her eyes at me. She starts to walk away. "Hey Sweetheart, where you goin?" I start to follow her.

She continues walking, only looking back for a second to see me not far behind her. "Someones got to get Will out of the tree. Besides, don't we have that emergency meeting or whatever that we have to get to?"

"Oh yeah, I forgot." I rub the back of my head sheepishly.

"I know you did." G shrugs casually, used to me forgetting everything. After another moment I start to hear everyone else shuffle behind us. 'Guess they forgot too.'

G immediately begins climbing up it with a smile that makes me think of Jack from The Shining. "Do not fret, my skele-friend! I am here to save you!"

"All the more reason to fret, I know if I was him I would be freaking out, mainly cause he's a pussy." I comment.

"But I'm saving him!" G whines.

"I don't think she needs saving." I laugh.

G stops and gives me a weird look. "Yes, she does need my help."

"Stop trying to assistance rape him, he doesn't want your help. No means no!" I yell up at her.

"It's not rape if I yell surprise first!" G hollers down at me, laughing as she continues to climb.

"Oh my god, for crying out loud G, quit torturing the poor child." I shake my head at her.

"I'm not!" She whines. "I'm helping him!"

"Does he really need your help? Or even want it?" I ask.

"Yes." She drawls out.

"How are you even supposed to help him if you're in his way to get down? Are you gonna throw him off the tree?" I point out.

"Yes!" G shouts.

"Stop giving her ideas!" Will screams.

"No!" Me and G both yell at him instantly, then start laughing.

"Dear god, you guys sound like evil twins from Hell." Zayne remarks, walking up.

"Good." Me and G respond.

"Please get them away from me!" Will cries.

"Hey, I'm just trying to help you cause you're too much of a pussy to help yourself, she's the one chasing you down!" I point at G, still working her way up the tree.

"You aren't helping, you're making it worse!" Will inches up the tree a little more, watching G climb after him, who is already halfway there.

"Why are you even chasing after him? I thought you were chasing after Ambrose now?" I tease.

"Whatever." G jumps off the tree, losing interest at this point. She lands on her feet, knees barely beginning to buckle under her. "Oh! Get wrecked!" She shouts proudly.

"Holy shit, way to go G!" I go to give her a high five while everyone else just stands there, jaws dropped. "Just so you know, that high five was strictly for you overcoming your fear and not only climbing the tree, but also jumping off with sweet landing. I refuse to encourage you ever saying anything as stupid as 'Get Wrecked'."

"Aww, you noob." Jess whines. "I'mma get me some of that Jeepstuff* and we'll see who won't be high fiving who." G pouts.

I laugh. "I love you."

"I know it." G says proudly.

"All that's great and all, but Will is deathly afraid of heights, and he's going to need help down." Zayne interrupts.

"Just jump down, I did. If I can face my fear, you can too." G shrugs.

"I'm twice as high as you were, and I'm not some kind of super mutant like you, I would die!" Will yells at us.

I turn to glare at Will. "If you needed help down, then why the fuck did you have me get G down?! Why did you even climb up in the first place?! And you climbed all the way to the top! You idiot!" I yell at him.

"I climbed up here to get away from her, why would I have her come up here and drag me down!" He shouts back.

"Ughh, you idiot!" I repeat. "Why is your pussy ass so afraid of a little girl?! And such an innocent pacifist girl at that!"

"She just said she was gonna throw me out of a tree, how is that the move of an innocent pacifist!" Will sounds hysterical at this point.

"How is it not?" G says sweet and innocently.

"Have you never heard of sarcasm?" I roll my eyes at him.

"Perhaps I can be of assistance." Ambrose walks up.

I can't help but laugh, causing G to glare at me. Ambrose climbs up the tree and helps Will down, Ambrose lands on the ground with Will in his arms. I look over to G. "Hey G look, your lovers are getting started without you!" I laugh. This earns me an elbow to my ribs, along with a "shut up." which only makes me laugh harder. She lifts her elbow up again, I hold up my arms. "Okay okay, I'll stop messing with you, let's go."

Ambrose gently lets down the frightened Will, and he looks at us with confusion added to his features. "Where are we going now?"

"Principle chick is calling for a meeting in the auditorium." I shrug.

"Speaking of which, where is the auditorium?" G questions.

"Oh, I know where that is! This way." Will jumps up and takes the lead.

Once we get to the auditorium we go in and head straight to the seats in the center of the room and sit down. It was already pretty full in the auditorium, but more people continued to come in. We sit and wait for Neferet to come up and start talking, but it doesn't happen. I sit, getting more and more restless.

"Sit still and calm down, you can stay still for ten minutes, it's not going to kill you." G whispers, feeling me squirm next to her.

"You don't know that!" I whisper back at her. "Besides, this wouldn't be an issue if she would come up and say whatever the fuck she needs to say already."

"Maybe she has something she needs to do, she is the principal afterall." G points out.

"Then she should wait til she's finished doing whatever the fuck it is she's doing before calling everyone on the property into one building to say something, that way we aren't all crowded waiting half an hour for the very person who called the meeting in the first place." I shoot back at her.

"What if she's getting the rest of the students?" She asks me.

I shake my head. "I doubt it. I'm pretty sure everyone is here, and even if they aren't, I'm sure the Sons of Erebus are finding the rest."

G just sighs. "You don't know that."She shakes her head, but leaves it at that.

After waiting a while the crowd begins murmuring, and Neferet finally walks onto the stage. "Bout damn time." I whisper to G. I look back over to see that Neferet is followed by a bunch of old people, including Dragon and Lenobia, ringed by Sons of Erebus. Everyone gets silent and focuses on the stage.

Neferet begins talking as soon as she hits the microphone. "We have long lived in peace with humans, though they have insulted and ostracized us for decades. They envy our talent and our beauty, our wealth and our power. And their envy has been steadily growing into hatred. Now that hatred has shifted to violence perpetrated against us by people who call themselves religious and righteous." She laughs. "What an abomination. It is true that there are many more humans than vampyres, and because of our smaller numbers they underestimate us. But I promise you this, if they murder just one more of our sisters or brothers, I will declare a state of war against them." All of the Sons immediately begin cheering, she starts back up again after they all shut up. "It will not be an outright war, but it will be deadly and-" She is interrupted again, this time from the door slamming open. The warrior G called Mt. Doom runs in, followed by two other grim-faced giant men. Neferet steps away from the microphone and bends down to hear the news. When he was done she stood up straight, then swayed and clutched her throat. Dragon walked up to her and grabbed her to help try to steady her, but she shook him off.

"Guess she's not really as weak or dizzy as she's pretending if she's still able to shake him off so quickly." I whisper to G.

"Or you only think that because you judge those you don't care for harshly, and lack empathy." G turns on me.

"Lies!" I say.

"It's not lies, now shut up and pay attention, she's almost to the microphone." G scorns.

"Says the person who probably wasn't even paying attention." I whisper back confidently, knowing my best friend.

"That's besides the point." She whispers harshly, her response making me smile. 'Yep, that's my best friend for you.'

Neferet opens her mouth, and in a grave tone, shares the news with us. "The body of Loren Blake, our beloved Vampyre Poet Laureate, has just been found nailed to our front gate."

I look at G. "Who's Loren Blake?" She just shrugs, and we look back up to Neferet.

"Loren was disemboweled and then decapitated. As with Professor Nolan, they nailed a foul scripture to his body. This one was from their book of Ezekiel. It said, Take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence, repent." Neferet paused and bowed her head, looking like she was praying.

"Hey, It's my favorite Name! Ezekiel!" I light up.

"I thought you hated religion?" G looks at me questioningly.

I shrug. "I still like the name, I didn't even know it was religious."

Neferet lifts her head back up, looking furious. "As I was saying when this tragic news reached us, it will not be an outright war, but it will be deadly and we will be victorious. Perhaps it is time that vampyres take their proper place in this world, and that proper place is not being subjugated by humans!"

"What perfect timing." I muse to Jess. "And I thought we weren't going to wage an outright war?"

"Maybe she cared for him." G shrugged. "Just because we didn't know him doesn't mean everyone else didn't. Maybe he was an amazing person, maybe this is the worst person they could have possibly attacked, did you ever think of that?"

I sigh. "No. But if he was really so amazing and important, wouldn't we have at least heard about him?"

"Not necessarily, and besides, look at how many people are crying. Look at all those girls bawling their eyes out. How do you explain that."

I roll my eyes. "They're teenage girls, those are always overdramatic and whiny."

"And you are always heartless and cold." G sighs. "But it's okay, because that's why I love you."

"You know it bitch." I lean back on her, putting my legs over the are of the chair. I don't say anything else to her, it would be impossible to hear her anyway with the increasingly loud cheering and shouting going on. Finally Neferet walks out of the room. After a while of sitting like that I start to get uncomfortable, I open my eyes t see a bunch of warriors rushing out the door. I look up at G and do a quick glance at the door then back to her as I get up, she nods and talks to our new friends as I rush the door. I peep over to see Neferet on the floor, that Zoey girl bent over her. I perk up my ears and listen closely.

"You might want to reconsider pissing me off old woman." I hear the girl whisper. This catches my interest.

'Well, looks like I found a new toy.' I quickly rush back to my friends before the huge wave of students trap me. I find G and begin jumping up and down with excitement of what I just saw. I don't know what happened between them two, but now they both got my attention.

"Woah, calm down there Erika, why do you look like a kid who just got brought to the c-" She stops and sighs. "You just found another one, didn't you?"

Zayne walks up behind her. "Found what?"

"I found a new toy to play with." I grin.

"I really hate when you call them that." G rubs the temples of her forehead.

"Call what that?" Zayne looks as confused as he can be.

"Nothing, if I were you I would leave it alone. This is one part of her you don't want to be a involved with." G says in a warning tone.

I roll my eyes. "Whatever." I walk off, she always acts like I'm so horrible. I decide to go back to our room, the group following behind me. My phone goes off, it's from Nick.

'Did you enjoy the gift I left for you?'

'Gift? What gift?'

'In the bag moron.'

I can't help but smile at his comment. 'Bag? I don't remember you having a bag.'

'Yeah I hid it, told you I was a ninja!'

I roll my eyes. 'Still doesn't help me.'

'I left a black backpack in your room'

I remember the black backpack I found earlier. 'By my bed?'

'Yes!'

'What's in it?'

'If I tell you it won't be a surprise.'

'Dick, I wanna know now.'

'Then open the bag.'

Dying of curiosity at this point, I rush to the room to find the bag, when I finally open it I find a bunch of bottles in the bag of various shapes and sizes. I pull one out and look at it. I smile. 'It's on now, thank you Nick!'

Welp, hope this chapter was worth the wait. I'm also working on another old fic I lost, a Naruto fic, it might be published soon, so there's also that.
