Chapter 10 - Back to Reality

CPOV

Sunday September 11th

"Grey" I answer my cellphone.

"Grey. It's Grimaldi." A deep voice responds. Grimaldi? What is he calling me for? We don't do business together.

"What do you want?" I say irritated.

"I want to meet with you today. I am in town, and you are just the person I need to speak with." He says, why on earth does he want speak to me with me?

"Are you going to tell me the news of the company?" I ask interested. I am rather curios.

"How does 5 o'clock sound?" He asks, not answering my question. Fine, I'll bite.

"I have dinner tonight at that time. Can we meet afterwards?" I ask. I want to know what he wants, I also want to know about his business. Keep your enemies close.

"Sounds good." He says, and I hang up. I text the number, giving him the address of Columbia tower.

There is a knock at the door, and I tell them to come in.

Looking up, I see Ana in the doorway; breathtaking as ever. "Ahh, have you decided what you want to do?" I ask, getting up from my desk. She asks me to play a game of pool.

"Sure. Although, I must admit I have a great shot." I say playfully, being answered with that lovely giggle.

….

After a rather intense game of pool, I leave the library more than satisfied. I wasn't sure Ana would be up for what I had in mind, but she sure does surprise me. I got to the kitchen and pour myself a glass of wine, just as Ana walks in. We have our glass of wine, with music playing in the background. When Frank Sinatra comes on, I get the idea to ask Ana if she wants to dance. Delightfully, she takes my hand and I pull her close to me.

Looking into those blue eyes, this songs fits perfectly. She dances just as well as me, if not better.

When you arouse the need in me

My heart says yes indeed in me

Proceed with what you're leading me to

Still looking into those eyes, I can't help but be swept away in them. This woman is truly witchcraft.

It's such an ancient pitch

But one I wouldn't switch

'Cause there's no nicer witch than you

'Cause it's witchcraft

That crazy witchcraft

And although, I know, it's strictly taboo

The song finishes, and I want to take her again. Only this time, I want to pleasure her in a way I have never pleasured a woman. Slow, gentle, and passionate are three words I have never used to describe the perfect sexcapade.

"We should get going." I almost can't get the words to come out of my mouth. Taylor is waiting for us downstairs, and I escort Ana into the back of the SUV. I hold her hand on the drive, not wanting to let go. When we arrive, we immediately go upstairs; I'm afraid if we don't we will never make it to dinner.

We enter the restaurant, and I give my name to the hostess. I hate the way she is looking at me when I am obviously with Ana.

We get to the table, and everyone is already there. Introductions are given, and we sit down with everyone else. Mia is as energetic as ever telling us about her trip to Paris.

"Ana, where is your accent from?" Mia asks, and I feel as though the questioning as only yet to begin. Thanks Mia, find out more about her before I get to.

"France, although I live in England." Ana responds.

"Ohh, de sorte que vous savez beaucoup plus sur Paris que je fais." (Ohh, so you know much more about Paris than I do.) Mia says, speaking French.

"J'y ai voyagé à quelques reprises, il est très belle ville." (I have traveled there a few times, it is very beautiful city.) Ana says fluently, I decide to interject my French skills into the conversation.

"Bien, il ya beaucoup plus beaux sites du monde." (Although, there are many more beautiful sites in the world.) Looking at Ana, she is the most beautiful thing I have seen in this world.

"Y me llevé una tontería español en la secundaria.." (And I took a silly Spanish in high school..) Elliot says in Spanish.

"Me vi obligado a aprender muchas lenguas." (I was forced to learn many languages.) Ana says, I'm quite shocked she knows more than one language. I can tell she is very smart, but learning multiple languages is impressive.

"You have no idea." Elliot says, although none of us know what they were saying.

"You are very accomplished it seems, Ana." Carrick says to her. I can tell he is realizing that I'm not just with a regular woman.

"Just very blessed, I suppose." She responds, obviously not wanting the conversation to be about her. She is very modest though. She is very well educated is seems.

The conversation is lively, talking about random things. I do really love my family, and Ana seems to be getting along well with them. There is a slight change of atmosphere in the room when it grows suddenly quieter. Our table continues talking, but I am the first to look around to see what is going on. I notice men in royal uniforms walking toward the table. At this point, everyone else has noticed too. But Ana remains looking forward, seemingly not wanting to turn around.

"Anastasia Rose Steele Grimaldi." One of the men say. I notice Ana cringe, are they talking to her?

"Ana?" I look at her questioningly. I want to know what's going on.

"Christian. I am very sorry. I really did enjoy the time we spent together." She says, and I can't help but feel sad. This feels like goodbye. She looks remorseful, but I don't even know what to say right now.

"I'm sorry everyone. It was very nice meeting you all. I must go now." She says to the table before standing up. She turns around without looking back, and I almost want to punch the man who grabs her by her arm. Who does he think he his? They are near the table talking when I realize the relation. Charles is standing by the table looking like he just won the lottery.

"Grey." He says curtly. I want to punch that smug look on his face. He set this up, planned this without me thinking another thought about it. I had no idea who this woman was.

"I see you have been my niece, the heir to my company." He says, and it all makes sense now.

"She's the child prodigy.." I say, putting the puzzle pieces together in my head.

"Took you that long to figure this out?" He almost laughs as me.

"I though that your company was being transferred this weekend." I have no other response. I couldn't have known this. Ana told me nothing, and there was very little to read online about this whole ordeal. The background check I did on him didn't show much. Of course, I didn't even think to run on Ana. I always do my research, I nearly scream at myself for being this foolish.

"Looks as though the Princess decided to take herself a vacation." He says rather sharply. I look to Ana, another gentleman is now talking to her. I see her eyes, and it as though she is about to cry. She looks to the floor all to quick.

"I must be going now. Good evening, Grey." Grimaldi says, abruptly leaving. He follows behind Ana and the other men, leaving the restaurant. I am stunned by the events that have just taken place, I just watch the door, long after they have left. I hear my family talking at the table, and am brought back to reality.
