Hey, everybody! A1 here just to say we are getting closer to the very end! I'm so excited for this. Not only that, I can't believe it's been almost a year since Ed Space began. I'll say this, by August 16th, 2013, Ed Space will be done. In the exact year it began, it will end the same day... or maybe not. XP Anyway, I'm just gonna shut my f%king mouth and let's get started with with the eleventh chapter of this awesome story!

Last time on Ed Space...

The Eds walk in first and before Isaac could walk in...

"Search and rescue..."

Clarke turned around as he heard that whispering voice. He comes back into reality and walks inside the tram. Isaac sets the tram to the Bridge, the door closes, and the tram starts moving. The Eds and Isaac sat down at their seats, exhausted from the many battles and ambushes of Necromorphs.

'Not sure how long I'll keep going... but I will keep fighting until I find you again, Nicole. I swear to you...' Isaac thought.

Will he actually find Nicole, or is already too late?

Chapter 11: Calling for Help

Only a half hour has passed with the group as they sit in the tram, waiting to arrive back at the Bridge. Last time they were there, all they turned on the elevators, fought two Brutes, and the Eds fought in a quarantine while Isaac had to take care of some asteroids. The tram soon stops and the group stands up by the door. It opens and everyone walks out. As they did, they receive a video transmission from Kendra.

*Video Transmission: Daniels, Kendra*

*Hey, guys! Things are looking up! A military ship just shocked in.*

The Eds high-five'd each other as Isaac smiled under his mask, "All right! What's the ship?"

*The USM Valor... I don't know what it was doing out there, but it must have gotten our distress call.*

"Well, that's good news, but we can't talk to it until the Comms Array is fixed, right?"

*Yes, exactly. I'm going to hack the door to Communications for you. Get in there and find the Comms Control Station.*

"Will do."

*Video Transmission End*

With that, the group walks their way back into the Main Atrium. But along the way in the Checkpoint hallway, Ed is the last following his group as he passes by the punched-through hole by the earlier Brute, and growling and scratching noises come from there and Ed notices it. He kept thinking to himself if that noise he was hearing was a hallucination or real. He turns away from it and walks back to his group. At the door, it opens and the group walks inside the Main Atrium. Nothing has changed much except for seeing the elevator they first took to the Ship Systems is filled with The Corruption. All four comrades stay on each other's backs as they kept forward to the elevator leading to Level 03. Yet, no Necromorphs have shown up yet and Isaac opens the door for them. Walking inside, Clarke sets the elevator destination to Level 03 and the doors close. On the way up, Kendra contacts them again via audio.

*Audio Transmission: Daniels, Kendra*

*Guys, the door to Communications is open. But I've been getting some weird feedback spikes on the local comms. I think someone's listening in on us, so be careful.*

*Audio Transmission End*

"Looks like that bastard, Mercer, ain't giving up one damn bit," Isaac said.

"Well, guess what?" Ed asked. "We ain't giving up either."

Isaac nodded before the elevator doors open and the Eds and Isaac step onto the third floor. Heading into the hall in Comms Control, they see a Guardian blocking their path as it sees them and sprouts the tentacles out. Ed steps out of the group and shoots a Mine from his Line Gun right at the Necromorph. As soon as the orb rises up, it then implodes all the Guardian's tentacles, killing it from a distance. After it died while crying in pain, the group moves forward to the door to Communications. Unfortunately, they met another Guardian that is also near at the door as it bursts the tentacles out of it and four Pods have already shown up when they also sprout their tentacles. They shoot and the group moves back to cover as the spears hit the walls instead.

"Ah, great! Another one of those things in our freaking way," Eddy groaned.

"Now's not the time for complaining, McGee," Isaac said. "We just need another way to destroy those things without getting killed. Anyone got a plan?"

"Yeah, Sock-head, you got a plan for this?"

"You always assume I have a plan, Eddy," Edd replied.

"Well, eventually you do."

"Can we not have this conversation right now?" Isaac interrupted. "We need a plan to get pass through those... Where's James?"

Edd and Eddy looked to see their friend is not there with him.

"Ed?" Eddy and Edd called.

"Die, you evil mutated aliens!" Ed shouted from their left.

The rest looked to see Ed firing his Line Gun at the Pods before shooting a Mine near the Guardian. The orb rises and it implodes, destroy all the tentacles in a instant. The Guardian slowly dies and the rest of the group moves out of cover.

"Jesus, there's no stopping you, James. Is there?" Isaac stated.

"Nope!" Ed replied.

"Let's just go before you do anything more stupid," Eddy said while walking to the door.

The door to Communications open and the group walks in before the door closes behind them. When the door closed, they hear a man dying in pain as he crawls from around the corner. Edd is the first to walk forward to help, but he stops as he heard a deep bellow coming from down the hall. A shadow moves behind the body and it soon reveals itself to be a fully formed Divider at a very tall height and is very thin with hanging flesh and cloth.

"Holy shit..." Isaac gasped in horror.

Then the Divider looked up to the group and screeched at them before charging at them. The party aim their weapons up to the tall Necromorph and fires. The Divider starts taking many of the shots as it backs away. They soon stop firing and the Divider stops as well.

"Looks likes it's done," Eddy proclaimed.

The Divider then falls forward and it breaks apart as components of the Divider crawl all around, including the head.

"Never mind."

Edd is the first to fire all the Divider components, but some of them were too fast. A spider-like component leaps on Eddy as he tries to get it off of him. Another flesh component attacks Ed, but he easily whacks it away with his Line Gun like a baseball bat. The head, however, jumps on Isaac and wraps itself around his neck. Eddy throws the spider-like component down and stomps it, killing it in a instant. Isaac still struggles with the Divider's head wrapped around his neck. Then he was able to pull the little bastard off him and has it by the tentacles.

Isaac shook his head at it, "Oh, hell no!"

Then he starts whacking it with his Plasma Cutter to death before giving it one final blow. After that was done, Isaac looks to Ed finishing the rest off with his bare hands and his stomps on the components. Ed and Isaac nod to each other before the group moves on, passing by the already-dead man. At the door, a barricade blocks their way to Comms Array. The tall Ed uses Kinesis to move the objects out of their way. Isaac opens the door and the group soon walks the cargo lift and it goes up. On the catwalk, the group finds their next audio log. Eddy picks it up and Isaac plays it.

*Playback Audio Log*

*Communications Log: First Comms Operator Bailey reporting. The ship is under attack, but requests to issue a distress call have been repeatedly denied by Captain Benjamin Mathius. He won't say it, but everyone on the Bridge knows why— this is an illegal operation in a prohibited system. We've all known for months, and we've kept our mouths shut. Not anymore. ...Mayday, mayday, mayday! This is USG Ishimura, this is— what the hell? ...I don't believe this! The whole Comms System is offline! Now he's gone too far... Bailey out.*

*Audio Log End*

"Well, it looks like we got ourselves another crazy son of a bitch here," Isaac stated.

"Only thing is he's dead," Eddy said.

"But there's one question though: Why is it that the USG Ishimura is on a prohibited system while on a illegal operation as well?" Edd questioned. "What is it that they're doing here in the first place?"

"Not sure how to answer that, Remington. But whatever it is and if it could have something to do with the Marker, it can't be good," Isaac stated.

The group moves forward to through the door and ride the gondola. Luckily, this thing fit up to four people. After setting it, the gondola starts moving to Comms Array. Passing through fast in the mild-smokey area, Isaac looks up ahead to see a shadow figure. He squints more to see a dead body in their way.

"Duck!" Isaac shouted to the Eds and they do so.

The Eds looked back to see the corpse hanging in the small tunnel. Soon, the gondola slows down and they arrive at the door to Comms Control. As they walked in, the ship's computer speaks over the speakers.

*Communications Array offline. A service technician has been notified.*

"Hey, you hear that, Isaac?" Eddy asked. "The irony in that. Every techno guy is dead while you're still breathing. Isn't that ironic?"

"Shut up, McGee," Isaac said before walking to the window.

"What? Can a guy lighten up the mood?"

"Not with you around."

Isaac is near the glass window as he overlooks all the dishes, except for six, are destroyed in the Comms Array Chamber. The Eds stand near him and they see it too.

"Well, this is nice," Isaac sarcastically said. "Nearly all those dishes are fucked up."

"Yeah, I can see that," Eddy said. "Any idea how this is gonna work?"

"Got me. Remington?"

"Unfortunately, I know nothing of this," Edd replied.

"Might as well ask the other top brain," Isaac then contacts the Computer Specialist. "Kendra, we got a problem with the Comms Array dishes. Most of them are fucked up and we only got about six dishes that are not. Got any ideas?"

*That's the thing, Isaac, we need at least six working dishes for a strong enough signal. They have to be aligned symmetrically so there are no power gaps. You know what to do?*

"Yeah, I get what you mean. Thanks."

*Audio Transmission End*

"What did she mean by 'symmetrical,' Isaac?" Eddy asked.

"It means something equal of a circle are a line," Isaac explained. "We have to get the working dishes lined up in a circle."

"Man, I hate math."

"You might as well get used to it, McGee."

Isaac walks away to the Comms Array Airlock and the Eds followed. Later, the party arrives at the airlock and Isaac opens it. The large door opens and the engineer walks in followed by the Eds inside the Comms Array Chamber. Before they could get to work, screeches are heard in an echo as three Enhanced Leapers are seen crawling around in the chamber. The group readies themselves for battle as one of them jumps in the Zero G air at them. Ed runs out of the group and he leaps forward the attacking Necromorph. Ed gives a battle cry as the Leaper screeches. They collide and Ed throws it down to the floor as he lands his boots on the ceiling. It hits the floor face-first before getting up and screeches at Ed again. The Enhanced Leaper jumps at the ceiling to get Ed, but he aims the Line Gun ready and fires two shots at the Necromorph and it dies before it hit the ceiling and floats in the Zero Gravity.

With the rest, Eddy starts brutalizing an Enhanced Leaper with his Ripper while Edd and Isaac are fighting off theirs with every shot they can give as it whips its tail at them. The Leaper whips its tail at Edd and it scratches his arm, making him shout in pain. Before it could try again, Isaac grabs it in time, aims his Plasma Cutter on it and fires, making the Leaper lose its tail. Isaac then finishes it off with two more shots at the arms. He looks to Eddy, seeing he was already done with his problem as Edd aided his arm. He looks to Ed on the ceiling and he nods to him as he did the same.

"Okay, let's get to work now, guys," Isaac said. "We got to get these dishes up and ready if we want to make it out of here."

"Aye-aye, Captain Jerk-off," Eddy joked.

"McGee, I am this close to kicking your ass."

"Not close enough, Clarke."

Isaac rolled his eyes and starts to work on the dishes by taking the broken ones out. The Eds have got to work as well as they throw away the useless dishes and put in the working ones. Four minutes have passed since they got to work, and during the time, Eddy noticed something at the ceiling. He saw something of a growth from it. Meanwhile, Ed holds the last working dish via Kinesis and plugs it in. Therefore, the antenna lights up and starts working now. The Eds hugged each other in celebration and Isaac smiled at the success.

*Communications Array realigned. Messages can now be received.*

*Audio Transmission: Daniels, Kendra*

*That's it, it's working! Now, guys, get back to Communications and use the control panel to send our coordinates to the Valor.*

*Audio Transmission End*

Isaac and the Eds walked their way back from the chamber to the Comms Control Room. Soon, the group walks in and Isaac turns on the control panel and then a beam shoots from the antenna. With array finally on, the group receives a video log from the USM Valor.

*Playback Video Log: USM Valor*

*This is USM Valor, widecasting on all frequencies to USG Ishimura in response to your SOS.*

"Hey, isn't that Iron Man?" Eddy asked.

Isaac looked to him, "What? No! That's a USM Valor Marine soldier, McGee."

"Huh. Looks like Iron Man to me."

Isaac covered his face in irritation before looking back at the log.

'Crap... McGee's right. He does look like Iron Man.' Isaac thought.

*We've picked up your escape pod number 47, and are en route to your position. This message will repeat every thirty seconds until you respond.*

*Video Log End*

"Well, looks like we finally got some help," Eddy said.

"Hang on. Something's not right here," Isaac implied.

"What do you mean, Mr. Clarke?" Edd asked.

"That guy said something about picking up an escape pod."

"What? The only escape pod that's out there is the one with the..." Eddy drifts off as he realizes that the pod contained the Slasher inside it, "Oh, no...!"

"Son of a bitch! Kendra! Did you get the log?"

*Yes, I did. And I know, that's the same escape pod Hammond jettisoned with one of those things onboard. This can't be happening. USM Valor! Come in, Valor! ...Our signal isn't strong enough. I'm going to open the blast doors to boost the signal.*

*Error: blast door blockage detected. Please contact a repair technician.*

*Shit!*

"Nothing?"

*No... Guys, there's something big on the hull of the ship, directly above the Comms Array. Something organic.*

"The Slug..." Ed said to himself without anyone noticing.

"Organic?" Eddy questioned, then figured it out. "It's got to be the same organic thing I saw at the chamber earlier."

"What are you talking about, McGee?" Isaac asked.

"Earlier when we were fixing up the antenna, I saw on the ceiling of something organic. That thing could be the one that's blocking the blast doors."

"Huh. Way to use your brain for once, McGee."

"Shut up."

*Well, whatever it is, we have to get the doors open to transmit to the Valor. You should have a clear shot from ADS Cannon 48. Get to the cannon and blow it out into space.*

"Right."

After Kendra ended the transmission, the group runs back to the gondola and make their way to the ADS Cannon 48. Apparently, on the way, a Lurker was in the path, but the gondola smashed it down on fast speed. Yet, no one noticed it but heard the screech from its death. Out of the gondola, they group heads to the cargo lift, but it is nowhere to be found.

"What the?! Where's the elevator?" Eddy asked.

Answering Eddy's question, the sounds of the cargo lift moving as the group questions who could be on the lift. Isaac thought maybe it could be Nicole. The Eds thought so too, but maybe it could be Hammond. On the cargo lift was actually an Enhanced Slasher as it growls on the way up and the group automatically opens fire. After many shots at the limbs, the Enhanced Slasher dies and they walk on the elevator as Ed kicks off the body. After making it to the floor, the group makes their way to the elevator to ADS Cannon 48.

A minute has passed and the elevator doors open. Down a small hallway, before head to the door, a footlocker automatically opens and it spooked Eddy. He has no idea how that happened. Neither he or the Eds or even the engineer were near there to actually open it. He ignored it and moved on. Isaac opens the airlock door to the cannon via RIG and they walked inside to see the seat.

"Cool..." the Eds said in awe.

"I call shotgun!" Eddy shouted as he ran to the seat.

"Hang on, McGee! That's not for kids like you!" Isaac stated.

"Oh, come on, Clarke. It'll be a snap. It's like one of those arcade games."

That's when the windows open to show the object blocking the blast doors known as... The Slug— an exceedingly large Necromorph resting on top of the array signal. Eddy's eyes widen at the sight in surprise and in fear comically.

"Uh, you know what? You have shotgun, Isaac," Eddy said as he quickly got out of the seat.

Isaac shook his head at Eddy as he sat down on the chair. He notices The Slug isn't moving to attack at all. Isaac then had an idea to just shoot it. He does so, and unfortunately, that pissed off the giant Necromorph as it sprouts out five tentacles and roars with great fury.

"Oh, shit."

With the tentacles up, it starts going through in the Ishimura and about three of them picked up two hull debris and an explosive gasoline tank. Already fires at the tank and it explodes in the tentacle's grasp. However, the other two tentacles swung the debris at the tower the group is in. Ed warns him of the other two coming and Isaac aims at the first going at him and shoots it. The other hull debris, however hits the tower and the hull integrity lowers at 90%. The Eds got worried, but Isaac told them not to as it did only ten percent of damage to the tower. As The Slug's three tentacles start searching for more items from the ship, the other two tentacles already have their pieces ready with two gas tanks. Isaac quickly shot the two tanks before they could be thrown at him. With sharp eyes, Ed notices the yellow sac on the tentacle.

"Isaac! Those things have the yellow sac just like the Leviathan from before!" Ed pointed.

The engineer looked to see that Ed was right of the tentacle with the bulbous yellow mass. Isaac quickly aims at the sac and fires at it ten times and the tentacle was detached from The Slug. It got more angry as two tentacles were flailing and the other two grabbed two hull debris and swung at the tower. Isaac was too late to get them as the hull lowered to now 70%. Clarke fires again at the two and one of them detached and floats away into space. He shoots at the other and that one was destroyed. Unfortunately, with the distraction, one of the tentacles grabbed a tank of gasoline, threw it at the tower, and the hull lowered to 50%. Clarke shoots at the tentacle that attacked him and it retreats into The Slug. One standing tentacle with a hull debris looks to swing at the tower, but Clarke shoots at the bulbous sac and the tentacle flails the debris away and Isaac finishes it off with one last shot.

'Four down...' the Eds thought.

'One to go...' Isaac thought.

The Slug's final tentacle bursts out of its body and digs into the Ishimura and takes out a gas tank for its next shot. Clarke wouldn't let that happen as he shoots at the tank and it implodes in the grasp of it. As it continues to flail, Isaac shoots one more blast at the sac and it detaches as well as The Slug dying. After its demise, The Slug's huge corpse now floats away into the depths of space and the Eds celebrate from this and Isaac sighed in relief.

"Thank God... Kendra, you can open the blast doors and contact the Valor now," Isaac called.

*Already ahead of you, Isaac.*

*Opening Communications Array blast doors.*

*Okay, let's hope this works. USM Valor, this is Kendra Daniels on the USG Ishimura, come in! Do not open the escape pod. USM Valor, this is Kendra Daniels on the USG Ishimura, come in! Do not open the escape pod! Dammit, respond!*

Then a little video screen appears on Isaac's screen and zooms in, showing a marine getting up on his seat, looking injured. Before he could respond, a Slasher stalks the soldier. He looked back and was stabbed from behind by the Necromorph. It showed they were already too late as the USM Valor was taken over.

*Why did they open the pod? Damn it...*

Then Kendra noticed something from her view.

*Oh, my God...*

"What?"

*It's heading right for us!*

Clarke and the Eds looked to the outside to see the USM Valor is heading right towards them.

"Holy fuck!" Clarke shouted.

*Guys! GUYS! Get the fuck out of there! It's going to crash into the ship!*

"Fuck!" Isaac exclaimed as he got out of the seat, "Move, guys! Move it!"

The group quickly moved away, but it was too late as the Valor crashed into the Ishimura. An explosion occurred and the group got knocked out from the collision. Minutes later, Isaac is the first to wake up only just to hear Nicole's video message from the beginning of this mission. The thing is, Isaac's suit was only malfunctioning as it played it.

*I wish I could just talk to someone...*

'Nicole...?' Isaac thought.

*It's all falling apart here. I—*

However, the video gets cut off from another transmission. It turns out to be Hammond as he is still alive all this time.

*Isaac! Isaac are you there?*

"Ugh..." Isaac groaned. "Y-Yeah, I'm here. Hang on... McGee, Remington, James, you guys okay?"

Eddy gets up, "I'm okay."

"We're good..." Ed and Edd replied while getting up as well.

*Thank God you're all okay. I've been trying to reach you, but someone's been blocking my RIG signal remotely! That crash must have interrupted the signal block.*

"That's good to know," Isaac said.

*Hammond! Where have you been?* Kendra asked from the other line.

*Surviving... Barely. I found some med supplies and patched myself up. Listen, I'm calling abort on the mission. Fuck the CEC and fuck the Chain of Command. We have to get the hell out of here!*

"How are we going to do that, Hammond?"

*Well, I think I've located a shuttle on the Crew Deck. The flight log says it needs a new Singularity Core, but we can probably salvage one from the Valor. I can see the tail end of it sticking out from the side of the Ishimura. I'm heading down there now to find a way inside. I'll meet you there. Hammond out.*

Hammond's transmission ended there as Kendra comes in.

*Guys, if what Hammond said is true about the shuttle, we might have a chance of getting out of here. Head to Cargo Bay and see if you can help Hammond... in his condition, he may not last long.*

*Video Transmission End*

"Okay, let's get going, guys," Isaac said.

The Eds nodded as Isaac opens the airlock door and they head back to the elevator, but Ed stays behind for awhile before looking back at the crashed Valor.

'Once we step onto that ship, all hell will be unleashed on us...' Ed thought before running to his group.

Later, after making into the elevator, leading to the Main Atrium, the group hears a loud, deep bellow on the way. As the doors open, a Divider stands there waiting for them. The group already opens fire and it backs away from them while taking the shots. When they finished, the Divider completely collapsed and the spawn start going around. The Eds are the first to move out of the elevator while eliminating the rest of the individual Necromorphs. After they were finished, they head to the tram. Soon, they walk aboard the tram and Isaac sets the destination to the Cargo Bay and it starts moving. The Eds and Isaac sat down on their seats as the tram was moving. From this, it looks like the USG Ishimura won't be the only ship the group will be on.

Once they step on the Valor... all hell will be unleashed...

Looks like the Eds and Isaac have found themselves into more trouble when the USM Valor crashed into the USG Ishimura. The only problem for that is... Oh, boy... Anyhoo, I'm gonna close this here.
