I don't own Danny Phantom.

A teenager in a hoodie looked out from behind a tree. City hall. He smirked.

Two men were guarding the building. Both were waiting anxiously. Their lunch break was in ten minutes.

An object was thrown towards their feet, skidding to a stop on the pavement.

The first man was about to bend down and pick it up when the second man stopped him.

"Be careful," the second man said. "It could be a bomb."

The first man snorted. "It's just a rock, George."

Suddenly, screams ripped from their throats as they were electrocuted. It went on for a couple of seconds before they fell to their knees and collapsed.

Standing behind them was the kid in the hoodie, hands held up and ectoplasmic electricity just fading from them. With a smirk, he turned and walked straight through the wall.

Turning invisible as soon as he entered, the teen looked around. "Vlad's office shouldn't be too far from here. Hopefully, he isn't here."

It took the teen a little bit of time to find the office, but when he did, Vlad wasn't there. Smirking, the teen sat down at the desk and pulled his hood off.

It was none other than Danny.

The halfa opened Vlad's laptop. "Okay. It's gotta be here somewhere."

Danny bit his lip as he clicked on a file that brought up another mess of files about every citizen in Amity Park.

The boy's gaze darkened. He clicked on his own file.

There was a bunch of statistics and other things. He even saw his report cards. So that was how Vlad knew his grades…

He scanned the file for the piece of information he wanted. It wasn't there. With a sigh, he scrolled to the bottom.

A few symbols were written there. The hybrid recognized it as Ghost. Ghost wasn't spoken in the Ghost Zone anymore but all ghosts and halfas could read and speak it without any lessons beforehand.

Before Danny's eyes, the symbols morphed into letters. It said, "For information on Danny Phantom, see Ghost Files".

"Perfect," the boy whispered. He glanced around. "Now just to find it…"

"Daniel?"

Danny froze and looked up as Vlad entered the room, obviously confused.

"Daniel? Is that you?" the billionaire asked.

Danny smirked and chuckled. "Not quite," he said, voice deepening to a deep monotone.

Vlad's eyes widened in realization before they narrowed and turned full red. "Dan Phantom…" he hissed.

Danny—really Dan—got up from his seat and smirked. "The one and only."

Vlad's gaze didn't falter. "You've escaped?"

Dan raised an eyebrow. "No, duh."

"Does Danny know?" Vlad asked.

"He's been chasing after me for the past four days," Dan hissed. (Did I do the math for that correctly?)

"What are you doing here?"

Dan rolled his red eyes. "What is this? An interrogation? I want the Ghost Files on Danny."

Vlad was silent.

"I need them to know the powers of Danny and the female Phantom," Dan continued.

"Female Phantom?" Vlad asked confused.

"Danny's been going through a few dimensions with me and made friends with his counterparts from those dimensions," Dan explained.

Vlad's eyes narrowed even more. "So are you shapeshifting or overshadowing?"

Dan chuckled. At the same time, he, in his true form, appeared and Danny's now-blue eyes fluttered shut and he collapsed to the floor, unconscious. "Overshadowing?"

Vlad gasped and ran up to Danny.

Dan laughed cruelly. "So long, Vlad." He phased his hand through a painting and pulled out a few folders. He smirked and vanished.

Vlad knelt down next to Danny's unconscious form. "Daniel? Daniel!"

Danny didn't move.

There was a flash of light and Vlad Plasmius took to the skies, carrying an unconscious Danny Fenton.

….

Back at FentonWorks, Daniel sat on Danny's bed, fidgeting with his gloved fingers. As much as the ghost hunter hated to admit it, he was worried for Danny. He rarely was worried for anyone. The only people he normally would fear for were his parents, Jazz, and Valerie. He'd known Danny for a little more than a day.

Timepiece floated above him, watching the hunter bite his lip. He understood Daniel's worry but he knew Danny was strong. Heck, the boy stood fearless against the most powerful ghost in Dimension 1!

Fishtail sat in a beanbag chair, staring down at the floor as his black hair fell into his eyes. The only proof that he was worried was his webbed fingers.

Hating the silence, Time spoke up. "So… is Danni back yet?"

The door opened and Danni walked in with Jazz and collapsed on the bed next to Daniel. Jazz sat down at Danny's desk.

"I've looked EVERYWHERE!" the halfa moaned. "I can't find Danny or Dan! It's like they've disappeared."

Jazz bit her lip, her eyes showing concern for her little brother.

"I-I-I'm sure Danny's fine," Timepiece said, floating down until he was standing on the floor. "Danny's a strong kid."

Danni looked over at him, her blue eyes showing no emotion. "Danny isn't as strong as everyone would think," she said. "I would be one to know. He's got his fears, even though he hides them. He's strong but he worries he might fail." She brushed her hair out of her eyes, briefly showing her left eye that was normally obscured by her bangs.

There was a knock at the window that shocked everyone to their feet.

Jazz's eyes widened as she recognized the ghost standing there. "Vlad…"

Daniel quickly drew his ectogun and charged it ready to fire. Timepiece summoned his staff and Fish's hangs glowed green.

"Stop!" Danni yelled. She ran over to the window and threw it open. "Can I help you?"

"You must be the female Phantom," Vlad said, concern in his normally cold red eyes.

"Yeah…" Her eyes drifted down to the unconscious person in his arms. "Danny!"

She stepped to the side and allowed Vlad to enter. He flew over to the bed and set Danny down delicately.

"What happened to him?" Daniel asked, voice full of worry but his eyes narrowed at Vlad in suspicion. His weapon wasn't raised anymore but it was still charged.

"Dan overshadowed him and broke into city hall," Vlad explained.

Danni nodded. "Jazz, get me a wet towel. Make it as cold as possible. Cold is good for ice elementals."

Jazz nodded and cast a glance at her brother before walking out.

Daniel examined Danny. "Plasmius, how long has he been out?"

Vlad looked at Daniel. "How do you know my name?"

"I know the version of you from my dimension," Daniel said. "Answer the question."

Vlad nodded. "About ten minutes. I didn't want to fly too fast."

"Ten minutes!" Daniel screamed, blue eyes wide. "That can't be right!"

"I'm glad we tricked Maddie and Jack into thinking Danny Phantom was at the mall," Fishtail said. "Daniel would've just alerted them of his presence with that."

"What do you mean?" Danni asked, confused.

Daniel placed a hand on Danny's forehead. "A simple overshadowing shouldn't have him knocked out this long." He sighed. "His temperature is normal."

"Normal?" Danni asked. "Not cold?"

"What do you mean?" the ghost hunter asked.

Danni placed a hand on her male counterpart's forehead as well. "Ice elementals have extremely cold temperature. Some even as cold that anyone who touches them freezes solid. His temperature has to be at least 90." Her head shot up. "Fish, get me a thermometer."

The halfa nodded and ran out the door.

"It's the future-past combination," a timid voice said.

Danni, Vlad, and Daniel turned to Timepiece. "What?"

"The future-past combination," Time repeated, stronger this time. "Master taught me about it." He walked forward. "If a future being overshadows their past self or the past self overshadows the future being, the one overshadowed gets knocked out." He bit his lip and looked away. "It can lead to death in some cases."

"WHAT?!"

Everyone turned to the door to see Jazz standing there with the towel.

"Jasmine, Daniel isn't going to die," Vlad said. "He's too stubborn, too protective, too strong to perish."

"Besides, even if he does perish, you can bet he'll come back as a ghost and kick Dan's butt!" Timepiece said.

"TIMEPIECE! YOU'RE NOT HELPING!" Danni, Daniel, and Vlad yelled.

The apprentice jumped.

"Vlad's right, Jazz," Danni said, placing the towel on Danny's forehead. "Danny's not going to die on us."

"Wait, Danny's dying?" Fishtail asked, entering.

"No, he's not," Danni said, swiping the thermometer. She took her temperature. "I'm 43.4 degrees Fahrenheit." She took Danny's. "He's 81.2."

Her eyes went cold. "We're going after Dan," she said. "He's going to pay for what he's done."

"Who put you in charge?" Daniel asked.

"Listen, Mr. Ghost Hunter!" Danni yelled, jabbing Daniel in the chest with her finger. "I've battle ghosts far more powerful than the ghosts you've hunted down. I've beaten the female version of Dan, I've beaten the Ghost Queen, and I've beaten other ghosts countless times. So, shut up!"

Daniel's eyes were wide from her words.

Danni sighed. "Timepiece, Daniel, you two come with me. Fish, you stay with Vlad and keep Danny alive. You don't have much experience with fighting on land anyways. Jazz, find your parents and keep them away from Dan."

Timepiece hesitated. "Is there a non-violent way out of this?"

Everyone stared at him.

"I dunno, I'm kinda in the mood for playing cards," Time continued.

Danni rolled her eyes. "You're coming with us. But I'm getting changed first. A girl who looks and dresses like Danny Fenton? That's a little suspicious." She slung her backpack over her shoulder. "Be right back."

"She's just like Danny," Jazz muttered. She was sitting next to Danny's bed and clutching his limp hand.

"You can throw a rock at that girl's head and she wouldn't even feel it," Fishtail added.

Daniel sighed. "She's brave too. No one has ever spoken to me like that since I became a ghost hunter."

"Speaking of which, why is she taking you into battle and leaving Fishtail behind?" Vlad asked. "You don't have any powers and he does."

"I can kill you in 174 ways right now," Daniel said, calmly.

Vlad winced. "Okay, she's taking you."

"Daniel, Dimension Chasers don't threaten humans."

Everyone turned towards Danni. She had exchanged her jeans and t-shirt for a white jumpsuit and a black vest with a DP symbol on the left side. She wore black fingerless gloves and black boots and a black belt with a white DP symbol. A black and white ectogun hung from her belt.

"Here," she said, tossing everyone a Fenton Phone. "Daniel, Time, hoods up. We're going to hunt down the most powerful ghost in Dimension 1."
