My deepest apologies to any and everyone who has been waiting for this chapter. To be honest I kind of lost my inspiration for this story for a bit there. But it all came roaring back today, so I wrote you all this next chapter (instead of doing my homework, of course). Anyways, I really hope that you all enjoy this long awaited chapter, hopefully there will be more to come soon.
Chapter Eleven - Falling for You
Sawyer laughed as the bed beneath her creaked. She and Johnny were currently in his room trying to keep quite so his parents wouldn't hear them, but they weren't having much luck.
"We should hang out at your house, your bed's quieter and your floors don't squeak as much." Johnny said as rolled over on to his back.
"I know," Sawyer said, lying next to him. "But I don't think my parents would be too happy if they knew I was alone in a bed with a boy."
"You're alone with a boy in a bed right now."
"Yes, but they don't know I am."
"I wouldn't be so sure about that. They can probably hear my bed creaking all the way at your house." Sawyer laughed and rolled on to her stomach, facing Johnny.
"Maybe we could go on a date this weekend." Sawyer suggested.
"Yeah, sure."
"I mean a special date."
Johnny sat up and looked at Sawyer, "What kind of special date?" he asked.
"Like a really romantic date, something completely private." Sawyer said, slightly raising her eyebrows.
"Really?"
"Yea, I love you. And I want to be with you."
"I want to be with you too."
"Perfect, my parents are going to Charlotte this weekend to watch Lydia's dad's game so we'll have the entire house to ourselves."
"I can't wait."
Casey fidgeted with the tops of her thigh high socks as she sat on the bleachers at the River Court and waited. She needed to talk to Davis but he wasn't returning her phone calls, and she knew it was only a matter of time before he showed up at the River Court. Basketball always helped him clear his head. She still hadn't called the clinic back, and despite Sawyer's pep talk she was still pretty worried about the idea of becoming a mom at sixteen. She loved Davis and she would be lying if she said she hadn't thought about some day having a family with him someday, but that someday was in about another sixteen years.
She looked up and saw a figure making their way to the court, bouncing a ball as they went. Right away she knew it was Davis. While he looked a lot like his twin brother, Davis was a tad shorter with a slimmer build. She saw him look up, but he didn't look surprised to see her, it was almost like he knew she would be there. Without breaking a stride he walked over and sat down on the bench in front of her.
"Hi." She said quietly. "I've been trying to reach you for days."
"I know, I'm sorry, I just needed some time to think." He answered.
"I'm really sorry that I didn't tell you. I know that I should have, I just didn't want to make a big deal out of this when I wasn't even sure it was for real."
"I get it. And I shouldn't have ignored you, especially not in your condition. Or the condition you're maybe in."
"Davis, I don't want this to ruin us. I still want to be with you." Hearing this, Davis turned around and looked at Casey.
"This isn't going to ruin us. I'm sorry for the way I acted, we're together and your problems are my problems." Davis reached up and pulled Casey's mouth down to his and kissed her. "I'm here for you, no matter what happens, I promise."
"You're the best, you know that?"
"I've been told that once or twice." Davis said as he smiled. "So, are you ever going to call the clinic back or are we just going to wait nine months and see if a baby pops out?" Despite herself, Casey smiled. She reached into her purse and pulled out her phone.
"No matter what happens, we stick together right?" Casey asked.
"Right."
Casey dialed the number for the clinic and held the phone up to her ear. While it rang she reached out and gripped Davis's hand in her own and squeezed it.
"Hello, this is Casey Hawk, I'm calling about some tests I had done last week."
Lydia propped her feet up on the dashboard of Jay's old pickup truck as they drove through the streets of Tree Hill. Jay couldn't help but notice how amazing she looked in her red Keds, skinny jeans and oversized white sweater, with her hair piled on top of her head.
"So where is this cafe that you own?" Jay asked.
"I don't own it, my mom and her friend are both part owners."
"Right, you're mom Haley James Scott, the rock star and her friend Brooke Davis, the interior designer?"
"Fashion designer." She corrected him.
"Right, sorry."
"The café is just up the block here. I can't believe you've never been there, you're missing out, they have the best hot chocolate in all of Tree Hill."
"I haven't had chocolate since I was twelve, and I don't often come to the rich part of town."
"What do you mean the rich part of town?"
"I live West Over."
"So, my mom lived in West Over when she was in high school."
"Before she married your dad, NBA player Nathan Scott."
"Well to be fair he wasn't a NBA player when she married him." Jay laughed and began messing with the radio. "I don't care that you live in West Over." Lydia said as she unbuckled her seatbelt and slid across the seat until she was right up against Jay.
"You don't?"
"Nope, I like you just the way you are." Jay placed his arm around her shoulder and gave her a quick kiss. "We're here." Lydia said, pointing to the café. "I'll run in and grab us some drinks and then we can head back to your place." Instead of returning to the passenger side, Lydia climbed over Jay and exited through the driver's side. Lydia quickly ran across the street and into the café. She gave the girls behind the counter her order. She heard the front door chime and turned to find Jenny entering.
"Hey Jenny."
"Hi," the girl behind the counter passed Lydia a tray full of drink and Lydia thanked her. "I take it you're really thirsty?" Jenny asked, noticing all the drinks.
"They're not for me, well one of them is. Jay's waiting in the car; we're going to his house so I'm bringing enough for everyone."
"So you guys are getting pretty serious huh?"
"I don't know really. I just know I'm really happy right now."
"At the end of the say that's all that matters."
Jude walked down the halls of Tree Hill High, noticing how strange it was to be here in the summer when there was hardly anyone else around. His dad had convinced him to sign up for a film class this summer and it hadn't even begun and he was already starting to regret it. He should be spending his summer getting drunk and going to parties with his friends. But ever since he broke up with Lydia being around all his friends just wasn't the same. They all seemed to be walking on eggshells around him. He didn't care if they mentioned Lydia, truthfully he wanted to know how she was doing, just because they weren't together anymore didn't mean he didn't care about her at all. Jay approached the AV room but didn't enter right away. He could her other kids talking inside, but he wasn't sure they were who he wanted to spend his summer with. Sure things with his friends were a bit awkward right now, but they wouldn't be forever. Jude turned and was about to walk away when the door in front of him opened. A gorgeous girl with long black hair and tanned skin stood in front of him.
"Are you in this class?" she asked.
"Yea, I'm definitely in this class."
Alex miserably sat outside of the dressing room staring at his phone wishing he was anywhere else.
"What about this one?" Alex looked up and saw Sawyer standing in front of him in a short blue dress and tan flats.
"It looks great, just like the last ten outfits you tried on." Sawyer had somehow convinced Alex to come to the mall with her to pick out and outfit for her big date with Johnny.
"Great isn't good enough, I need to look amazing Alex," Sawyer responded, searching through more racks of dresses.
"Why didn't you bring Casey or Lydia to do this with, I'm a guy I have no idea what girls wear."
"Casey's line was busy and Lydia is at Jay's house."
"Who's this Jay guy I've heard so little about?" Alex asked.
"Lydia met him at the shelter, his brother adopted a dog or something. I haven't met him but Johnny has, he said he seemed pretty cool. He's a skater, long hair and everything."
"Does he go to Tree Hill High?"
"No, he goes to West Over High, but he's in the same year as us."
"Well, as long as Johnny approves than I'm sure he's a good guy. Speaking of Johnny, what is so special about this date you'll be going on this weekend?"
"My parents are out of town so we'll have the whole house to ourselves."
"Say no more." Alex said, smiling.
"Everything needs to go perfectly."
"Then I hope you're not cooking dinner." Alex said jokingly. Sawyer tossed a pile of clothes at him.
"You're such a jerk. How are things going with you and Jenny?"
"They're great actually, she told me she loved me."
"Look at us. Both in happy and loving relationships, if you had told me last year this is where we would be today I would have not believed you."
"Me neither." Alex looked at Sawyer, remembering the way he had felt about her at the beginning of last year. At the time he was convinced he was in love with her. But now he realized it was more infatuation than anything. And who wouldn't be infatuated with Sawyer, she was perfect. But it was Jenny who he knew now that he loved. He didn't want Jenny to be perfect; it was all of her small imperfections that he loved the most about her. But still he cared about Sawyer, she was his friend and he really wanted this date to go perfectly for her, after everything she and Johnny had been through to be together, they at least deserved that.
"Wear the blue one." Alex said, "It brings out your eyes."
And there you have it, please don't forget to give me your brutally honest feedback.
