A/N: First off: for those who were reading my story before i decided to edit it and if it wasn't clear, I changed it. There is no Brienne in the modern world, and she won't be coming. Sorry if it was confusing but I didn't like the way it was so I changed it. As people told me it's my story so I can do what I want.

Anyway, here it is I finally updated :) I've moved their relationship on a bit more, and added some hopeful fun into it?

"You never did tell me what is so fun about winter here," Jaime says leaning casually back in his chair. His hair is sticking up in odd places from his helmet and hat from earlier, but it only adds to his attractiveness. He forks some pasta into his mouth and watches me while he chews. It's the afternoon of Halloween and we're eating leftover pasta at Rachel's house.

"Well for one people come here to play in it in a way, there are sports where you use wooden things to stand on and then slide down mountains."

"And this is fun?"

"Yes, it's one of my favorite things to do. We also sit on them and then there are snowball fights, and eating syrup on snow, and ice skating. And lot's more," I say blushing realizing I had started to ramble. "We'll have to show you all of this in time."

"So what's this Halloween thing we're doing this evening?"

"Well, people, mainly children get dressed up and go to people's houses getting treats."

"Why?"

"It's a tradition."

"But we're not children."

"We're taking my cousins," Rachel says coming out of the bedroom. "My aunt is dropping them off in an hour so we can help them get ready. We should get him ready before they get here."

"What am I wearing?" he asks.

"You'll be yourself for the night. Finish eating."

"And you two?" he asks.

"I am going to be Sansa Stark," Rachel says.

"And I was going to be Cersei," I say watching for his reaction. He blinks a little.

"You're going to be my sister?"

"it's just a costume," I say quickly. "It's not for real, and I had already decided I was going to be her a while ago."

He nods a little, "alright. Let me see my me costume," he pushes his food away with his one hand. I stand and take our dishes to the sink. Rachel leads him into her bedroom, and I follow.

"So, this is your hand, we had to get a metal one and paint it gold because most costumes have a glove and well you don't actually have your hand. We thought about taping it to your skin but we decided it wouldn't look right." he smiles slightly surprising me. "And then there's this shirt and pants thingy, and a sword," she says showing him.

"Sorry it's not real."

"Probably a good thing. I'd hurt people if it was."

"Well that is what they're made for. How about you go shower?"

"Why? I'm not dirty?"

"We're all going to shower before the children get here," I say.

"Alright," he heads towards the bathroom remembering where it was from the last time we were here.

"Well, this is a relief," Rachel says.

"I know."

"I need help!" Jaime calls from the bathroom. I go to him. "I can't turn the damn water on." I'm pleased that he's realized to cover his genitals with a towel, but I still take in the rest of his body trying not to blush. I show him how instead of turning the knobs you have to pull them, and then leave him to shower.

We clean up our early dinner and then Jaime's done, so I go shower. As I walk out I see Rachel's Aunt Lee is there. "Hi Avery, can you take him?" she pushes the baby into my arms. "I've really got to get going. They haven't had dinner yet, and I'll be back by 9:30," she kisses the three children and leaves. I look over at Rachel who sighs.

"I should have known she was going to be early. Can you watch the kids while I go shower?"

"Sure," I say.

"Down!" the little boy Aiden demands. I put him down and he runs over to Jaime. Jaime looks terrified.

"Be nice to them, Jaime," Rachel says before heading towards the bathroom.

"Whoooo?" Aiden says grabbing his leg.

Jaime looks at me, and I grin. "Aiden that's Jaime. Jaime Aiden."

"We're going to go play," the twins announce.

"OK, go on, stay in the yard though," I say. "Aiden you want to go play with your truck?" I ask pulling the truck out of the bag his mom had left on the floor.

"Truck!" he yells running back to me taking it. I pull out another and start to follow him. I stop and grab Jaime's arm pulling him along.

"Come play with him," I say.

"I've never really played with children," he mumbles.

"It's fine, c'mon," I say. Aidens already on the floor running the truck around, so I push Jaime down to the floor next to him and kneel down running the truck by Aiden.

"No!" he yells ramming his truck into mine and making an explosion noise. "Cops!" he yells and I laugh out loud this time following him. He turns to Jaime. "Hide!" he runs the truck up Jaimes leg and then pushes it into the crevice between his legs. "Shh!" he says putting a finger to his mouth.

Jaime looks at me, like he doesn't know what to do. "Aiden, they found you," he pulls the truck out and runs away stumbling and falling. He catches himself and crawls around the coffee table. "It's OK, here you try," I put the truck into his hand and tell him to move it around.

"Got away," Aiden says coming back kneeling by Jaime. He takes the truck from him and puts the one he had into his hand. "Follow," he instructs and Jaime listens shuffling after him. I smile as Jaime starts to enjoy himself. "Oh no! The cops took your hand!" Aiden says suddenly. Jaime stops moving and looks back at me. "Let's kill them," Jaime laughs then and I smile back.

"How?"

"Run them over," Aiden starts running an imaginary cop over and Jaime joins in with him.

"Thanks guys," Rachel says coming out of the bathroom. "Aiden are you hungry?"

"Food!" he yells getting up leaving his car there.

"Can you call the girls in?"

"Having fun?" I ask.

"Cersei never let me really play with the children. And we wouldn't have been playing with this truck?" he says holding it up.

"Yea."

"He also didn't care about my lack of a hand."

"He's a little kid, he takes people how they are, and you played with him. Besides their father doesn't have a leg. He lost it in a war. Missing limbs are a part of their life," I go to the door and call to the twins who come in tearing off their hats and mittens.

I sit in Rachel's room helping Jaime put the hand on. "Thank you," he says. "This is more comfortable than the one back home."

"Looks the same though."

"Almost. It's missing my father's need to hide my weakness."
"Jaime it's not a weakness, it's a part of you now. And you've learned to live with it," I turn to the mirror and start rope braiding the front of my hair like Cersei does. Jaime watches me while I do it.

"You have pretty hair," he says. I snort looking at his face in the mirror.

"Thanks I guess," I pin one braid and start on the next.

"Is it hard?"

"Doing my hair?" he nods. "Not really, hurts my arms after a while."

"Cersei has people do it for her."
"Well she is the Queen." I pin the next one and neither of us say anything until I'm done and have braided all the strands in the back. He reaches out and runs his fingers through my hair.

"It's soft," he says and I feel myself blush. I turn to look at him and he reaches up touching the braids on the side of my head. "Even your braids are soft."

"It's from the cleaning stuff I use," I say trying really hard not to blush. His hand moves to the back of my head still feeling my hair. Suddenly he's leaned in and his lips meet mine. I gasp in surprise and hold my breath as he keeps kissing me his hand in my hair tightening. Then he pulls back and looks at me. He gets up and storms out of the room. I lick my lips tasting him and don't move for a few moments.

"Hey, you OK?" Rachel asks holding Aiden who's now wearing a bear costume.

"Yea, yea I'm good. I just have to change, and then I'm ready."

"Alright," she says leaving the room.

The six of us start out as the sun is setting towards the first house with a porch light. Jaime isn't talking to anyone not even Aiden who's jabbering away at him. As we reach the house Aiden grabs Jaime's hand and though Jaime doesn't let go he doesn't seem happy. The kids get their candy and we keep going. It's a long awkward night, and there is little conversation between the adults. We end up back at Rachels house where we sort out the candy with the kids and try to jokingly get Jaime to eat some but he just glares at us.

Finally the kids mother is there and they all leave. "We should get going," I say to Rachel.

"Thanks for the help."

"You going out?"

"Dereks coming over," she says.

"Have fun."

"Text me?" she says glancing pointedly at Jaime.

"Yea," I say leading Jaime out of the house. He gets in the car and puts his seatbelt on. He lets out a sigh every few minutes and it starts to annoy me. "What?" I ask.

"I didn't say anything."

"You've been acting like an asshole all night."

"No I haven't."

"Yes, you have. You kissed me and then suddenly you're like a little fucking kid. Tell me what's wrong?" he crosses his arms and then slams his stump down angrily against the door letting it sit there. "Is it because I didn't kiss you back?" I pull the car over and turn to look at him. "You have to fucking talk to me."

"No it's not because you didn't kiss me," he says staring out the window. "It's because I kissed you."

"It was just a kiss."

"Oh don't tell me that. Cersei has cheated on me countless of times and I have never so much as felt interested in anyone else."

"She uses her body to get power, but she isn't here right now I am."

"I know, believe me I know," he finally turns to look at me. "I had never wanted to kiss someone else until I met you," I look at him completely shocked. "I wouldn't have fucking done it if you didn't have your hair like this," he touches my hair. He blinks back tears. "I thought it was OK, you were Cersei, but you're not Cersei, and I just fucking cheated on her."

"Jaime," I say undoing my seatbelt, and moving closer. I caress his cheek. "Jaime, it's OK. You're relationship with your sister is unhealthy. Even if she weren't your sister she only ever uses you and she sleeps with who she wants. She doesn't accept you for anything but what she wants you to be, a copy of herself."

"Why didn't you kiss me back?" he asks.

"I wasn't expecting you to kiss me."

"So it's OK that I kissed you?" I give him a small smile and nod. He leans in and kisses me hard. I kiss him back this time, as he pulls me closer. I wrap my hands in his hair tugging slightly liking the feel of his hair. His hand wraps in my hair pushing me closer to him and his stump presses into my back. I let out a frustrated moan as my body presses harder into the console between us. I pull back and he looks confused for a moment, but I simply make sure the car is in park before climbing over the console and sit on his lap kissing him again.

"We should go," I say as he kisses my neck, his hand has worked my dress up a little and he's been running a hand along my thigh driving me crazy.

"Why?"

"Because a cop could see us, and this is illegal," with difficulty I pull myself off his lap and sit in my own seat. I put the car in drive and start towards home.

"That was nice," he says and I look over at him to see he's relaxed and seems happy.

A/N: Thank you for reading this and I'm sorry about the long wait. More reviews asking me to update will probably get me to update sooner because then I'll feel bad knowing people want to know what happens. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and let me know what you think :)
