Hello, sorry for this being shorter than the previous couple of chapters but in a way it kind of has to be, it has a lot in it I didn't want to overload the chapter. Sorry I haven't been as frequent with my posts BUT that is simply because I have so much homework, essays, and exams this semester it's very hard to update on a regular basis. I have only four more weeks left and then I will be able to update more. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET TO THE SEASON FINALE, but I will take my time and try and not rush any. So as always hope you like it and please review.
Rachel pulled up to Drake's house and he climbed into her car. "Are you ok?" he asked as Rachel nodded with a fake smile. She sat back and pulled her keys out of the ignition.
"No…well I don't know," she whimpered. "I'm really freaked out and have no clue…." she gasped as Drake grabbed her hands and looked into her eyes.
"We'll solve this," he whispered.
"If you only knew half of it," she laughed as a few tears fell down her cheeks.
"Rachel, maybe if you told me a little more than Stiles being missing maybe…"
"No," she sighed. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you anyway." She put the keys back in the ignition and drove down the street, Drake sat in the passenger seat more uncomfortable by the second.
"Do you have any clue of where he could of gone?"
"No, the only clue I found that at the hospital."
"Then let's go to the hospital," he suggested as she laughed. "I'm serious, there is something you could of overlooked." Rachel sighed and drove back to the hospital. Getting on the elevator they took it to the roof where Rachel had been earlier.
"What's going on?" Rachel asked as she saw Scott and Derek examining the roof.
"Who's this?" Derek asked folding his arms looking at Drake funny.
"A friend," Rachel smirked before turning to Scott. "Have we found anything?" she asked them as Scott looked at the electrical circuit on the roof.
"We found Stiles' bat," Derek spoke up still looking at Drake trying to see if he was trustable.
"That's great," Rachel smiled as Scott pointed to the circuit breaker. Stiles bat stuck to the side of the metal box. "It's magnetic…?" she asked trying to pull the bat from the metal wall. Scott stepped closer to her and leaned in.
"He's downstairs, he's fine, his dad wants to run some tests."
"Stiles' is here?" Scott nodded and grabbed her arm.
"Why have you brought him?" he whispered pointing to the wall implying Drake on the other side.
"I thought he could of helped, he helped when we found Malia."
"No he didn't, he stood there while we did all the work."
"Ok, maybe you're right, but he wants to help. It's sweet," she smiled as Scott looked at her funny.
"Hello, we are in the middle of a war and you bring in casualties?"
"No one is dead yet," she sighed without thinking.
"Yet? What are you…"
"Scott, it's been a long night of playing hide and seek with Stiles who has no clue what he is capable of."
"Don't let the stress cloud your judgement then," Scott sighed before walking away. Scott and Derek looked at each other before getting on the elevator, Derek gave Rachel a strange glance as the doors closed.
"What was he trying to do?" she spoke up.
"How do you know he had any part of this, maybe…"
"Drake, it was Stiles, I've known him for a long time," she cut him off. "Are you going to help, or just stand there?" she snapped as he laughed.
"Wait," he spoke up as she looked at him. "We need to talk," he sighed as Rachel shook her head.
"No, please don't," she begged as he sat down looking at her. "Me kissing you was wrong. I feel terrible about it, because I don't know how I feel. You're a good friend." Drake stepped back grabbing his stomach.
"So everything we talked about the other day was for nothing?" he barked.
"No, I just don't want to hurt anyone, especially you, you're a good friend and I don't want to ruin that. Drake it was mistake for me to kiss you and it was really a mistake for me to admit anything. We can't do anything, expect pretend nothing ever happened."
"How can you pretend nothing ever happened. I can't help but fall more and more in love with you when I look at you. God, I'm so stupid," he screamed as she looked at him funny.
"Drake, I still care for Stiles you know that, everyone at our stupid school knows that. And like I said you don't want anything to do with this crazy roller coaster."
"I know your crazy roller coaster, wolf girl," he sighed as Rachel looked at him strangely.
"What did you call me?"
"You seriously didn't put that together," he laughed covering his face in embarrassment.
"You really were the one putting notes in my locker? I thought you were joking."
"Why would I do that?" he sighed angrily.
"How do you know?"
"How do I know what?" he squinted looking at her in complete confusion.
"Wolf girl?" she blurted.
"What are you talking about. A nickname you've had since you were like six?"
"What? You actually remember that?" Rachel asked loosening up. The tension began to settle down.
"I got you the job so I could work with you and maybe get enough courage to actually try asking you out."
"Drake…I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt…" Suddenly the lights went out, the entire city went into darkness. Rachel looked at Drake funny and looked around. The circuit breaker sparked and cracked when suddenly the cord giving the hospital power snapped off and began flying out of control. "Oh my God," Rachel screamed as the cord flew towards her. Suddenly she was shoved, she hit her head on the ground and rolled onto her back, the world was falling into darkness. She watched as the cord touched Drake causing him to fly across to the other side of the roof before she passed out.
When she woke she found herself in the hospital, her head throbbed and she looked around the room. She saw Isaac laying in the bed next to her. "Isaac," she whispered her head hurt so badly. "Isaac," she mumbled again a few tears rising. The door opened and she began crying as Scott and Allison looked at them.
"You're awake," Scott said softly as the tears continued to fall. "Do you remember what happened?" he asked nervously as Rachel began looking around the room.
"Where's your mom," she managed to speak as she began gasping for air which made her head hurt even more. Scott sat on her bed and grabbed her wrist as Rachel closed her eyes thinking he was trying to comfort her. When she opened her eyes her head hurt a little less and Scott smiled down at her. "Can you please get your mom?" she asked as he nodded and stood up. Allison looked at her and quickly walked out of the room. "What happened?" she sighed grabbing her head. "Isaac?" She sniffed as the door opened again.
"Rachel, how do you feel?"
"Scott took some of the pain, but I'm scared, I'm really scared, Mrs. McCall," she sighed as the older woman sat on her bed. "What happened? What happened to Isaac, where's Drake?" Mrs. McCall took Rachel's hand and was quiet for a little. "What?" Rachel asked again a few tears falling down her cheek.
"He was electrocuted," Mrs. McCall said slowly.
"Is he in another room? I need to see him, thank him," Rachel sat up slowly waiting for the worst.
"You can't see him, your not healthy enough to get out of bed," Mrs. McCall sighed as Rachel looked at her knowing she was lying.
"Why can't I really see him? He's dead isn't he?" she groaned biting her hand as a few more tears rose to the surface.
"You need to rest, Rachel, we can talk later," Mrs. McCall sighed as Rachel nodded and slowly closed her eyes falling asleep. When she woke again she was feeling a lot better and she sat up looking at her brother.
"Isaac?" she whispered as he didn't move. Rachel covered her mouth as she saw his entire right side of his face was black. Rachel walks to the window and sits on the ledge. A tear rolls down her cheek as she thinks of Drake.
"You're up," Mrs. McCall sighs relieved as Rachel looks at her without saying a word Mrs. McCall hugged her. "He saved you, you could be in worse condition then your brother."
"He gave his life to help me. He is so stupid."
"He wasn't stupid, he was a boy in love," Mrs. McCall laughed as Rachel hugged her tighter.
"Listen, why don't you turn the TV on and…"
"No, I need to be out there, you are technically my guardian sign me out. I am not spending another day in here, it brings too many memories back." Mrs. McCall nodded and walked out of the room. Rachel sat on her bed staring at her brother. Reaching out she grabbed his hand and began squeezing hoping he would squeeze back, but she got nothing.
"Isaac? Don't leave me," she whispered as Mrs. McCall walked back into the room. "I'm ready," she said softly following Mrs. McCall to her car. The ride back to the house was silent and Rachel seemed to be in another world. As they pulled into the driveway Mrs. McCall grabbed Rachel and turned the young girl to face her.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Rachel looked out of the front windshield.
"I…don't-" Rachel started to tear up. "Why? Why was he so stupid? I should be exactly like Isaac and he pushes me out of the way."
"But isn't that what you do for people you care for?" Rachel looked at Mrs. McCall for a while and hugged her a few tears falling down her cheeks.
"He was a great person, Drake wasn't…mean to me or my friends, and he…I'm going to go to bed," Rachel sighed as Mrs. McCall nodded and watched Rachel walk into the house. Closing the door behind her she collapsed to the floor leaning on the door.
