"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Sonic Boom asked Hex. They were sitting in Ghost Roasters newly opened restaurant called 'Meals From Beyond'. Nobody knew how Ghost Roaster even opened the restaurant because everything Ghost Roaster cooked tasted like feet. Whoever gave Ghost Roaster permission to open the restaurant much have lost their taste buds in a game of Skystones. They were sitting at a circular table with a vase of wilted lilies in the middle of it.

"It's worth a shot, besides, he threatened to turn me into a pie if I didn't come," replied Hex, who was reading a menu. She couldn't see anything on it that she would remotely like. There were things like 'Feetroot salad' and his 'Lamb Cobbler' was usually undercooked, in fact it was usually so undercooked that it was still alive and Hugo found that out the hard way after he tried some when Ghost Roaster made it for the first time. The mabu was so shocked that the lamb part of the cobbler was still alive that he knocked a gravy boat over and it landed on his head.

"Okay, ladies, what do you want?" Ghost Roaster asked. Sonic Boom quickly scanned the menu, she knew she wouldn't like anything but she picked something anyway.

"I'll have the eyeball salad with the nose hair garnish, but hold the eyeballs and the nose hair," She said.

"Okay," muttered Ghost Roaster, jotting her order on his notepad. "Hex, what do you want?"

"I'll just have the toast," She answered, finally finding something she'd eat.

"Coming right up, it'll be ready in a few minutes," He informed the girls, before floating back into the kitchen to prepare their breakfast.

"I hope he gets it right for once," Sonic Boom whispered to Hex, who nodded.

"Well, I don't know how anybody could mess up toast," The sorceress replied, trying to reassure herself as well as Sonic Boom. Then, the door opened and Roller Brawl skated in. She whizzed over to Hex and Sonic Boom at their table.

"Hey, girls, what's up?" the vampire asked, grabbing another chair and sitting beside them.

"Um…the ceiling," Sonic Boom replied, not getting Roller Brawls question. Roller Brawl chuckled at Sonic Booms misunderstanding. "Yes, that's obviously a joke," The griffin said, tapping the table with her paws, confused.

"We're just waiting for breakfast," Hex answered instead. "Why are you here?"

"I'm here to ask Ghost Roaster for a job," The skater answered.

"How come, isn't reward money enough?" Sonic Boom asked.

"I usually just blow it all on roller skating derbies," Roller Brawl replied.

"Breakfast is served," Ghost Roaster announced bringing in Sonic Booms bowl of salad and Hex's toast.

"Here we go," Sonic Boom gulped, taking a bite of her salad. She was surprised to find that it was great. No eyeballs, no nose hair, nothing gross at all. "This is great!" She gasped.

"Why so shocked?" Ghost Roaster asked.

"I mean greater than normal," The griffin said instead. "I especially like the crunchy olives," She said.

"Those aren't olives," Ghost Roaster told her. Sonic Boom paused as she was about to take another bite,

"What are they then?" She asked, expecting the worst.

"They are black beetles," The ghoul informed her. Sonic Boom gulped as she heard a gurgle in her tummy.

"Excuse me," She said as she got down from the table and headed to the bathroom. Roller Brawl and Hex started talking.

"What are you doing today?" Roller Brawl asked Hex.

"Um… I don't have any plans. Me and Sonic Boom were just gonna hang out at my place," The sorceress replied.

"How about you, me and Sonic have a girl's day out?" The roller skater suggested. Hex wasn't sure if she liked the sound of it, but it made a change.

"I'll have to check with Sonic Boom first," said Hex. Suddenly, the sound of retching and puking coming from the bathroom, making Hex rethink her choice. "Anyway, what about that job you were gonna ask for?" asked Hex.

"I'll just ask him another time. I still have some cash," Roller Brawl reached into her pocket and pulled out a sack of coins. Just then, Sonic Boom tottered out of the bathroom, looking a little pale. She sat in her chair and groaned.

"Remind me, next time we come here to just order the food to go and dump it in the trash," She muttered, putting her head on the table.

"Roller Brawl and I were just discussing a girl's day out. Do you feel up to it?" Hex asked her friend.

"Sure, as long as it's not too excitable," The griffin agreed, trying to get the image of the beetles in her salad out of her head.

"Don't worry. The place I have in mind is so relaxing, you'll probably fall asleep on your feet," The vampire told her friends.

...

"This is relaxing?" Sonic Boom asked, looking around at her surroundings. Roller Brawl had taken them to an amusement park. Sonic Boom would gladly leave the first chance she got, but Roller Brawl was so excited about it, so she and Hex just went along with it.

"So, what do you want to do first?" Roller Brawl asked hopping up and down with excitement.

"Um… how about that?" Hex pointed to some bumper boats. Roller Brawl thought about it for a while before shaking her head.

"Nah, too slow, how about that!" Roller brawl pointed to the hugest roller coaster Hex and Sonic Boom had ever seen. Before they had time to answer, Roller Brawl had already skated off. Sonic Boom and Hex reluctantly followed, fighting the urge to look up at the tall ride. When the roller coaster stopped and the rider got out, Roller Brawl got out the right amount of money and paid the mabu in charge of the ride. Sonic Boom and Hex watched as the mabu who had just gotten off walked dizzily away, a few going towards the toilets. They were about to walk away when Roller Brawl coughed politely. She had already been strapped into the front car of the coaster, so the griffin and the sorceress didn't have a choice, now. They both sat in the car behind Roller Brawl and waited for the mabu to bar them in. After they were safely barred in, the mabu shut the bars for the rest of the passengers and then pulled a lever to make the roller coaster go. They went slowly at first and just when Sonic Boom and Hex thought that everything would be fine they started going up. They looked up and saw that the ride sloped up who knew how far. Hex hugged Sonic Boom tightly as she was so scared and Sonic Boom did the same. Roller Brawl seemed to be having the time of her life and didn't even look back to see how panicky her two companions were.

"Sonic, if this is the end, I have a confession to make," Hex said, looking down at the baby ant sized mabu's walking around the fair ground. "You know that one of your eggs got crushed before it rebuilt itself, I was the one who stepped on it," The sorceress confessed.

"I have a confession, too. Once I used some of your robes as diapers for the hatchlings," The griffin added.

"Wait…what?" Hex asked, angrily. A happy shriek from Roller Brawl stopped them from arguing and they realised they had finally reached the top. Then they realised they had to go down. Hex and Sonic Boom looked down, then at each other, then down again and then at each other again. Then they screamed in terror as the coaster sped downwards. Sonic Boom got a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and saw a young mabu kid.

"Will you stop screaming, I'm trying to enjoy the ride, He said. The girls then resumed screaming, this time as quietly as they could. Roller Brawl just cheered and whooped and waved her gloved hands in the air. Then the ground levelled out again and Sonic Boom and Hex sighed in relief. Then they started going faster. Hex gasped when she saw that a huge loop was coming up.

"I love this part!" Roller Brawl cheered and the next thing they were upside down. Sonic Boom turned green again and Hex scooted away, just to be safe. Then they started going in a circle and Hex quickly forgot about Sonic Boom's roller coaster sickness and clung onto her. Then after various twists, tons of turns and who knows how many loops, the ride finally stopped.

"Is it over already?" Roller Brawl asked, disappointed as the mabu unbarred her. She walked over to Sonic Boom and Hex's cars and tried not to laugh when she saw that the two of them were still shaking and clinging onto each other. "Guys, the rides over, you need to get out, now," She said. The other two girls got out of the ride and once they'd stopped shaking, Roller Brawl asked them what they wanted to do next.

"How about that ride?" Hex pointed to a giant swing like ride that was painted orange. Sonic Boom nodded in agreement. She could see the current riders swinging back and forth slowly.

"Awesome!" Roller Brawl agreed. "But first, how about we get some drinks?"

"Yeah, all the screaming on the rollercoaster made my throat dry," Hex replied. They walked over to a fizzy juice stand and Roller Brawl got out some more coins to pay. They got three huge cups and sat on a nearby bench, waiting for the ride to end. The only problem was, Sonic Boom and Hex weren't paying attention to the ride, so they didn't see what it really did. Once they were done, they threw their cups in a trash can and headed to the ride, which was coming to a halt. The mabu working the ride let three mabu on one side of the wings and Roller Brawl, Hex and Sonic Boom got on the other side and the mabu strapped them in. The mabu got into the control booth and pushed a button to make the ride go. At first the ride was calm and a little boring.

"Nice weather we're having, right?" Sonic Boom asked one of the mabu on the other side of the swing once she had got bored. The mabu just stared at her rudely, making the griffin awkwardly turn around. Hex gulped loudly next to her and the sorceress tapped Sonic Boom on the shoulder. "What?" Sonic Boom asked her friend. Hex just pointed down to the ground and Sonic Boom realised for the first time how high they were. Worse, they were getting higher and higher until their faces were pointing towards the ground. Hex and Sonic Boom instantly screamed in terror, while Roller Brawl whooped and cheered as the ride got higher and faster. Sonic Boom got another tap on her shoulder, but not from Hex. She turned and saw the mabu kid she had met on the roller coaster.

"Will you please stop screaming, you're ruining my childhood memories!" The kid said, trying to sound as adorable as possible. Sonic Boom didn't say a word and just turned around. The kid didn't tap Hex on the shoulder because Hex had a much quieter shriek. Sonic Boom's scream is her main attack, so it deals a lot of damage to ears. She squeezed her eyes tightly shut. She thought if she couldn't see what the ride was doing, she wouldn't freak out. That didn't stop Hex from screaming like a maniac. The swing kept getting higher until they were upside down, then the swing fell back down and kept going in a terrifying, dizzy circle. Down in the control booth, the mabu pulled the lever to slow the ride down but suddenly, it snapped! Instead of getting slower, the ride got faster and faster until the riders' faces were being pulled back by the G-force.

"This is so awesome!" Roller Brawl struggled to say as her head got pushed back against her seat. Sonic Boom and Hex didn't hear her because they were too busy calling for help. Their faces got whipped by the wind as the ride got faster and faster. "I've never felt so sick in my life!" Roller Brawl said cheerfully, making Hex and Sonic Boom exchange confused glances.

"Wait…what's that crunching noise?" Hex asked. Sonic Boom noticed the ride was beginning to shake.

"It's the ride, its breaking!" The griffin panicked. Just as she said it, the swing flew off the ride and went rocketing over Skylands. The spinning eventually stopped and the Skylanders could see where they were heading. They were heading straight for the Mabu Village; they would destroy countless houses if they didn't do something. Then, Sonic Boom got an idea. "Roller Brawl, use your gloves to slice through our straps!" She ordered. The vampire finally saw the danger and clawed through the straps. "Now, Hex, use your wall of bones to keep the swing from destroying the village. Hex muttered the spell under her breath as quick as she could and a huge wall of bones appeared, shielding the village. Sonic Boom carefully climbed over to the over side of the swing, realising through her fear that if she fell, she could fly. She then reached back to the Skylanders' side of the swing and grabbed Roller Brawls shirt in her beak.

"Watch it!" The vampire skater protested. Sonic Boom balanced her friend on the side of the swing and Roller Brawl cut through the mabu's straps with her gloves. Sonic Boom spread her wings and balanced on the edge of the swing.

"Everyone, hop onto my back," The griffin told them. The mabu, Hex and Roller Brawl did as they were told and climbed on the griffins' feathery back. Sonic Boom took off, although she struggled to stay in the air because there were five heavy people on her back and she was sure that the mabu kid was plucking some of her feathers out. The swing hit the bone wall before falling to the ground with a huge spell. Hex muttered another spell and the wall disappeared. They had saved the village. Sonic Boom hovered to the ground and everyone climbed off of her.

"Thank you so much!" The mabu kids' dad thanks the Skylanders. "We'll never be going to that fair again."

"Neither will we," Roller Brawl agreed. Sonic Boom had to admit that that was the first sensible idea her vampire friend had had all day. "I'm not going to a fair that has a ride that shoots you halfway across Skylands and destroys villages. That's too daring even for me," She added. Sonic Boom and Hex both face-palmed. Roller Brawl thought it had all been part of the ride.

"Well thanks again, we wish there were some way to reward you," Said the mabu dad.

"We work free of charge. We're the Skylanders, it's what we do," Hex said.

"Awesome, can I have your autograph?" asked the mabu did, getting out a picture of the core of light that he just happened to have in his pocket and a pen. After the Skylanders had wrote their signatures on the picture and said their goodbye they headed back to The Ruins.

"Home at last!" Sonic Boom cheered practically busting down the door to Hex's house. She pounced on the sofa and clung to it, relieved to be free from flying fairground rides!

"Well, technically it's my house," Hex corrected her griffin friend.

"Technically, I don't care," Sonic Boom threw back. She didn't care where she was if it was far away from…

"Hey, guys, wait up!" a voice called.

…Roller Brawl.

"Hey, I got this invitation to a skater party on Roller Rink Island!" She informed her friends. "I'm allowed to bring two guests, so, since it's our girl's day, I thought I'd bring you two!"

"Great," Hex said, half-heartedly.

"Brilliant," Sonic Boom groaned.

"Awesome! I'm gonna go get ready. I'll meet you at Ghost Roasters at ten!" She said.

"Hold on a second!" Hex said. She then left to the kitchen and returned with a glass of water. She took a huge sip and she immediately spat it out as if she was shocked, which she was. "Ten?" She asked, wondering if she had misheard. She turned around and saw that the water she had spat out had splashed Sonic Boom. She didn't look too pleased.

"Yes," Roller Brawl replied.

"Ten P.M!" The sorceress asked again.

"Yes," The vampire answered again. Hex had no idea that parties could start so late. She nodded anyway and was relieved when Roller Brawl left. She collapsed on the sofa beside Sonic Boom and groaned.

"I don't remember the last time I stayed up that late!" Sonic Boom said, bewildered. Hex then got an idea.

"Hey, I have an idea. Let's see which one of us can stay up the latest!" She told her friend.

"What makes you think that we're not just going to stay for an hour and then leave?" Sonic Boom asked.

"It's Roller Brawl, she's like nineteen! People her age stay up all night most of the time," Hex told her.

"How do you know all of this?" Sonic Boom asked. Hex rolled her eyes.

FLASHBACK

"No, I was the one who took the treasure, fool!" The TV blared. Hex slammed her pillow over her head and went deeper into her sleeping bag. Suddenly, somebody shook her.

"Wake up this is the best part!" A voice chirped. Hex removed the pillow from her head.

"Smolderdash, what time is it?" She yawned. She was at Smolderdash's house for a sleepover.

"Only three O'clock in the morning," The fire Skylander replied, not showing a trace of tiredness. Hex groaned and covered her head with the pillow again.

END OF FLASHBACK

"Long story," Hex said, simply. "Anyway, are you up for the challenge?" She asked.

"You're on. Let me just go and ask Chill if she can babysit the hatchlings," The griffin replied. Suddenly, she realised that her feathers were still wet from Hex spitting the water at her. "Right after I dry off," She added, walking into Hex's bathroom.

"Don't use my good towel!" Hex called after Sonic Boom.

"Here we are," Roller Brawl said to Sonic Boom. The vampire and Hex were riding on Sonic Booms back to Roller Rink Island. The griffon landed and they walked in through the entrance. They were stopped by a huge hulk like creature.

"Names," The creature asked.

"Roller Brawl twelve time winner of the undead roller derby," She said. The creature then turned to Sonic Boom and Hex.

"And you two?" He asked.

"These are my guests," She replied. The hulk thing then stood aside to let them through. As they entered the rink they were shocked to see that it was packed.

"Oh, it's not as busy as usual," Roller Brawl shrugged. "More room for us!" She skated onto the rink and joined a group of a few other skaters.

"Come on, let's go and rent some skates," Hex said. Sonic Boom then noticed something. She had no idea if there was such a thing as skates for paws and Hex didn't have any feet. She tapped Hex on the shoulder.

"What?" The sorceress asked.

"Aren't you missing something…like feet," She said. Hex looked down at her legless body and sighed.

"I guess I'll just float," She shrugged and went onto the rink.

"Watch out!" Someone yelled. Sonic Boom couldn't see from where she was at the skate renting booth but by the loud crash she could tell that someone had crashed into Hex.

"Hey, do you happen to have any skates for paws?" She asked holding up one of her furry front paws. The mabu working the stall nodded.

"Yeah, we do, but it's gonna cost you extra," He said.

"By extra how much do you mean?" She asked.

"Double," was all the mabu said. Sonic Boom looked at the price to hire a single pair of skates: 200 coins!

"But, that's 400 coins!" Sonic Boom gasped. It was an outrageous price. The mabu just nodded.

"Good counting, you're smarter than you look," He said, sarcastically. Sonic Boom glared at the mabu, resisting the urge to shriek in his face.

"I'm not spending that much money on skates!" Sonic Boom argued. "How about I give you ¾ of the price, instead?"

"Not happening, 400 coins or no skates," The mabu clearly wasn't going to budge and she was about to fish out the 400 coins when Roller Brawl skated beside her.

"Hey, 400 coins is way too expensive. I thought this place had good business," The vampire told the mabu, who was busy stacking skates on the shelves.

"Hey, watch your tongue, we do have good…" He turned around and saw Roller Brawl. "…Oh my gosh, you're Roller Brawl the undead derby champion!" The mabu squealed like a fan girl.

"I know," Roller Brawl replied blankly.

"You're amazing!" The mabu added.

"I know!"

"You're the greatest skater ever!"

"I know! Now, can you please give my friend these skates," She asked.

"Of course, and all you have to pay is an autograph," The mabu informed them.

"Coming right up," Roller Brawl got out a pen and a picture of her holding the undead roller derby trophy. Sonic Boom got on her skates and immediately fell over. Hex floated over to her and helped her up, only for the griffin to fall again and take Hex with her.

"Man, I've never been so happy not to have legs," Hex groaned, getting up off the floor. Sonic Boom finally figured out how to stand still. She watched some of the other skaters for a minute before sliding one foot forward. She immediately fell on her face. She then heard Hex laughing.

"You're enjoying this aren't you?" Sonic Boom asked her friend.

"Nope," Hex replied, trying to fight her giggles. "There is nothing funny here," She added before floating away.

"Hey, don't leave me!" She called after her friend, but the sorceress didn't come back. Sonic Boom then slammed her face back into the floor.

...

"Ugh!" Hex groaned as she opened the door to her house and Roller Brawl shot through the door. She yawned for the umpteenth time that night. She had to lean on Sonic Boom for support as they tottered inside.

"I can't believe the party ended at 2 AM," Roller Brawl groaned. Hex put her hands on Sonic Booms shoulders and began shaking the griffin.

Help me, I'm so tired!" She said, not noticing the Sonic Boom was beginning to look a little dizzy.

"Me, too," Sonic Boom yawned, collapsing on the sofa and shut her eyes, only to be disturbed by Roller Brawl as she tapped her shoulder.

"Let's dance!" She said grabbing Hex's stereo and putting in a Troller Coaster album. Sonic Boom sauntered to Hex's fridge and got out a bottle of fizzy juice. She poured some into a cup and gulped it down, hoping it would give her enough energy to keep going. Hex just floated in circles, hoping Roller Brawl would pass it for a dance.

50 minutes later

"Quick, drink as much as you can," Sonic Boom said, pouring herself and Hex a mega glass of fizzy juice each. They gulped it down as fast as they could.

"Come on, girls, makeovers!" Roller Brawl announced.

"That's my makeup; she's been through my stuff!" Hex grimaced. Sonic Boom groaned. She had never been into makeover, but she had to pull through.

"Go on without me," Sonic Boom said to Hex, sinking tiredly to the floor. Hex picked her up.

"You can do it!" She encouraged before giving her a sharp slap to wake the griffin up. They sat on the sofa beside Roller Brawl and got the makeup ready. Sonic Boom was beginning to wonder how you could hold a nail polish brush with paws when her head dropped and she fell asleep. Hex grabbed her stereo and put it to Sonic Booms ear before turning it on, scaring her awake.

Two hours later

Quick, sit on this!" Hex told Sonic Boom, pulling out some ice cubes from her fridge and putting them in a small bucket. Sonic Boom sat on it and immediately jumped up from the cold. This had to keep her awake.

"More!" She ordered her friend and Hex grabbed some of the ice and rubbed it all over the griffin's feathery body, making her yelp. Hex sat on the bucket herself; it would definitely keep her up.

One hour later

"This game is awesome!" Roller Brawl said, pulling out a box of jenga bricks from the closet. Meanwhile, outside, Sonic Boom and Hex were talking to Zap, who was wearing a nightcap.

"Why do you want me to electrocute you?" He asked. "At this time of night?"

"We need to stay awake, so quit yapping and start zapping!" Hex explained.

"Sheesh, okay," Zap shot up a lightning bolt, shocking the two girls, who jolted with the shock, before the pain ended and the girls stood, a little singed, but awake. "Now can I please go back to sleep?" Zap asked, yawning.

Two hours later

"Hurry up, I want my turn!" Hex told Sonic Boom as her griffin friend poured yet another glass of fizzy juice. When she was finished Hex grabbed the whole bottle and began pouring it down her throat. Sonic Boom was finished with her drink, so Hex squirted some of the remaining juice in the griffin's face, which she didn't complain about.

Another two hours later

Sonic Boom and Hex were beginning to consider strapping alarm clocks to their head when Roller Brawl skated in announcing it was morning. For that moment Sonic Boom and Hex though it was all other, but they were very wrong. "It's too late to go to sleep, so let's go back to the roller rink!" She said, skating towards the door. "Oh, and let's go to mabu market later, it sure beats sleeping! Meet me at the rink!"

"Ugh!" Sonic Boom and Hex collapsed on the sofa, resisting the urge to go to sleep.

"This is ridiculous!" Sonic Boom yawned, sinking into the sofa, asleep.

"WAKE UP!" Hex yelled into her ear, making the griffin jolt up.

"We can do this; we can act as young as Roller Brawl!" Sonic Boom ranted. "We can…" She was about to continue her speech, but she fell down again and began snoring. Hex shook her awake once more.

"You're right, Sonic," Hex said, unaware that she was directing that sentence at her stereo. She was so tired her eyes were blurred. She noticed that her friend was a stereo and jumped before turning to the real Sonic Boom. "I have a plan…" Suddenly, she fell asleep and tumbled off the sofa. Sonic Boom crouched down and used her primary weapon (her voice) to wake her up.

"WAAAAKE UUUUUP!" She shrieked, hoping the neighbours wouldn't be bothered. Hex leapt up; despite the fact she had no legs and continued her sentence.

"You can go skating and I'll go to the market. We'll sleep between shifts," She planned. Sonic Boom nodded in agreement and headed for the door, although, she got turned around and went into the kitchen instead.

"Where's the sky?" She asked, looking up.

"Oh, hi, Star Strike, how long have you been standing there?" Hex asked her coatrack.

Sonic Boom lazily flapped to the Roller Rink, falling asleep a couple of times and colliding with a couple of hot air balloons. The security guard recognised her and let her through and almost as soon as she went through the door, Roller Brawl skated over to her. "Hi, I've already got your skates," The vampire passed her four skates. Sonic Boom had to admit, Roller Brawls heart was in the right place, even if her brain wasn't. "Where's Hex?" The vampire asked, looking around.

"She had to go and see Sprocket…because she…broke her arm," Sonic Boom lied.

"Oh, that's terrible. How come you didn't go?" Roller Brawl asked her. Sonic Boom tried to answer. "I thought at least one of us should come, so I asked Hex to tell Sprocket I said 'hi'," Sonic Boom replied.

"Well, let's enjoy the rink for now," Roller Brawl raced onto the rink and began showing off. Sonic Boom struggled to get the skates on once again, although she broke her record for least number of slips in a minute with 32, the last record being 47. She shuffled onto the rink, which wasn't as busy as the previous night because it was early in the morning. She immediately fell onto her face, a couple of the skaters jumped over her, while others skated around her and one fell over her. She managed to flip herself over so she sat on her behind, then she butt-scooted over to the side of the rink. She hoisted herself up using the wall of the rink and she began to push herself along the wall. She found that all she had to do was push a little and then keep still while she slid. She became so relaxed that she fell asleep. She didn't notice that she had to turn as she reached the edge of the rink, so she crashed into the wall. There was a loud crash and several cries of things like 'that's gotta hurt' or 'that's gonna hurt in the morning," Roller Brawl skated over to Sonic Boom and helped her up.

"Ugh, my head's spinning," The griffin groaned. Roller Brawl assisted Sonic Boom out of the rink and took her outside after they had given the skates back.

"What's wrong, you look tired," The skater asked as Sonic Boom's head dropped once again.

"Nah, I'm sure it's just dizziness," Sonic Boom lied. All she wanted to do was go home, get some sleep and forget that any of this had ever happened.

"Maybe you should go home?" Roller Brawl suggested. "You look like you crashed into the wall pretty hard. You could ask Whirlwind to heal you."

"YES!" Sonic Boom cheered, before seeing that Roller Brawl was looking at her funny. "I mean, yes, I should go home and get Whirlwind to check me over," She improvised. Roller Brawl nodded before skating to the edge of the island to hail a hot air balloon. Sonic Boom was finally free. Now Hex just had to go to the market with Roller Brawl and the nightmare would be over.

Hex was deep in a peaceful sleep on her couch. She was dreaming of tracking a beautiful unicorn, then finding it, and…throwing a skull at it. FUN! She was awoken by a loud knocking at the door. She gazed up at her wall clock. It was 12:30 AM. She hadn't got a lot of sleep but it was better than nothing. She hauled herself off the couch and floated over to the door. She wasn't expecting visitors. Maybe Sonic Boom had escaped Roller Brawl. She opened it and was surprised when the vampire whizzed past her. She strained to prevent herself from groaning. "Why are you back so soon?" She asked, rubbing her eyes, hastily.

"Sonic Boom had an accident," She explained. "As soon as I let her into her house she fell asleep on the couch and the hatchlings went over and slept next to her. She must have hit her head harder than I fought for her to be that tired. Well, that means we'll have more time to spend at the market."

"Yay…" Hex said, unenthusiastically. She grabbed her purse and sauntered out of the house, with Roller Brawl beside her. They decided to take Gurglefin's ship because after all they had been through, Hex didn't feel like crashing in Flynn's balloon. The trip in the ship was surprisingly quiet and by the time they reached the market it was 1 O'clock PM. They paid Gurglefin and began to look at all the stalls. Roller Brawl went over to a stall that sold greeting cards for some reason and Hex went over to a hot chocolate stand. The sleep she'd had wasn't enough and she needed a little strength to continue. "One mega helping of hot chocolate please," She said, pulling out her purse.

"5 coins, please," The mabu running the stand said and Hex gave him the coins. The mabu poured the hot chocolate into a huge plastic cup and gave it to Hex who thanked the mabu and went to find Roller Brawl, who was already carrying a few bags full of stuff.

"What have you got in there?" Hex asked, bewildered, wondering how one vampire could buy so many things in such a small space of time.

"Not much, just some new shoes, some bananas, some 'Skaters of Skylands' trading cards, the new 'Chompytastic' album, a wristwatch, a colouring book of puppies, a box of gumballs, some cookies, some temporary tattoos, a new shirt, some shoes…"

"But you only ever wear skates," Hex reminded her.

"Who says they were for me?" Roller Brawl asked.

"Are they for you?" Hex questioned.

"Yes, they are. I also got some crayons, a card, a bag of balloons, a box of cupcakes, some soap and some sunglasses," Roller Brawl listed before reaching into the bag and pulling out some black sunglasses and putting them on. "Deal with it," She said and folded her arms. Then she laughed and Hex joined in.

"Nice haul," Hex said, impressed, taking a large sip of her hot chocolate.

"Thanks for hanging out with me these past couple of days. I've had a lot of fun. It makes a change from just practising my skating all day," Roller Brawl smiled at Hex. "Hey, I have a surprise for you and Sonic Boom when we get back," The vampire babbled excitedly. "You're going to love it.

"Hey, wake up," Sonic Boom was awoken by Hex whispering to her. The griffin opened one eye and saw the sorceress in there with Roller Brawl. She must have left the door unlocked. She placed the hatchlings, which had now returned to their eggs to the side of the couch and blinked the tiredness from her eyes.

"I see I got here just in time," Roller Brawl said to the griffin. "I've just got back from delivering something. Hex had no idea what.

"What time is it?" Sonic Boom yawned.

"It's four O'clock," Roller Brawl told Sonic Boom. "And I have a surprise for you two," She cleared her throat as Hex sat beside Sonic Boom on the couch, making sure she didn't sit on the eggs.

"This had better be good," Sonic Boom whispered.

"The band, Troller Coaster is doing a 24 hour gig, midnight until midnight. I thought we could go," the skater explained. Hex and Sonic Boom glanced at each other in disbelief. As cool as it would be to see Troller Coaster, the two friends couldn't keep up with Roller Brawl any longer.

"Should we forget the bet?" Sonic Boom whispered.

"Definitely," Hex replied. She turned to Roller Brawl and explained the situation to her. "We can't carry on. We've tried our best to keep up with you for the last two days, but it's…how can I put this…"

"Exhausting," Sonic Boom finished Hex's sentence.

"Oh. I had no idea you felt this way," Roller Brawl muttered, sounding a little guilty.

"But, I have to admit, when we weren't thinking of propping our eyes open with toothpicks, we had fun," Sonic Boom told the vampire.

"I had fun, too. Maybe we could do this again sometime, only under bearable circumstances," Roller Brawl invited.

"We'd like that," Hex spoke for both of them. Roller Brawl headed to the door.

"I'm going home now. I have to admit, even I'm a little tired, now," She said. "I'll see you later," She waved before heading out. Hex and Sonic Boom lay back on the sofa, relieved it was over. After a while there was a knocking at the door. Hex got up to answer it. It was Sprocket.

"Hi, Hex. Do you have any idea why Roller Brawl sent me a 'get well soon' card?" She asked.
