Chapter 10
Chikara
Irrelevant, the passage of time.
Each day, at noon, on the clock, the village was disturbed with the horrid sounds of the slayer screaming in agony. Sesshomaru like a machine completed the same task over and over again of holding the woman still so she wouldn't reopen her wounds or unset her bones. They would give her a numbing tonic and the doctor would prob and poke her before it took effect.
The strangest thing about her sudden disease, was that it was never in the same place. The demon lord was able to track it. The first day had been in her stomach, the second day it was in her skull, the third it was in her leg, then the other leg. It was like something was moving around inside her body. But when she was given the tonic, it stopped, the pain stopped, and it was like the Thing was asleep.
The humans didn't have an explanation but it was the demons that were beginning to speculate if something more...demonic was involved. However neither Sesshomaru, Suzuran, Jaken, or even Jineji knew how to handle something like this. I was a case of needed a priestess or monk to exercise the presumed slayer.
It had also been five days sense this started. Despite the pain she was going through, Cho's body was still powering through, and healing. She hadn't given in her will to live was stronger then any human being this Sesshomaru had ever met. But in this one case, he could feel her condition sapping her strength. At times he felt like she was drawing on him, feeding off his youki to stay alive and heal. At the same time, he didn't fight the feeling, his own will to live was stronger, and if she died, the blasted curse was sure to drag him down with her, and he wouldn't allow it.
Natsuko stepped out of her hut that the demon's, slayer, and child had been borrowing. In all her life she had not seen a demon to protective of a human, not sense her late husband and Jinenji's father. However, when she watched him, she could see deep in his eyes, that there was no emotion's of love, the ice didn't soften the way they did when he looked at the child. It was just as the demon had said, if this was any other circumstance he would have killed them all and slept fine.
Natsuko wiped her brow and took up a basket the other village women were making there way to the riverside to wash. With Rin and Suzuran's help they had changed Cho into a clean kimono and beat the mats and blankets out of debris and dirt. Now she was carrying the blankets and dirty kimono's down to the river to wash.
"Granny! I'll come with you to the river!" Rin shouted watching her as she was leaving.
Natsuko laughed softly, "no no Rin, Stay here and watch over your nee-chan for me, if you fall in the river, it would break my heart," she said smiling.
"I won't fall in! Please granny!" the child begged her eyes bright, Natsuko shook her head, "I said no Rin, go and tend the weeds with Jinenji, he can teach you today instead," she said scolding her.
Rin pouted and hung her head turning away. She listened well, the girl was bright and very willing to learn, but she had seen the scroll on the stoic lord's face forming when he watched the child doing manual tasks better left to peasants. She had assumed he was of a very high rank based on his clothing alone. She could see him one day marrying the child into a noble family when she was of age, or of at least good standing. Learning herbal remedies seemed the better task for now.
Hefting her basket she walked away following the stone path. The doctor was just emerging from his rented hut when he spotted her, he waved. She paused and waved back, they seemed almost the same age, the two of them. He was always carrying the straw basket as well strapped to his back, it must have all his tools of the trade, you never knew when you would need them she supposed.
" good after noon, it seems are patient is...quiet today," he said glancing at the hut that housed the woman Cho.
"so it seems, perhaps her ilmenite has past, I would sure like to hear her speak for the first time instead of screaming...," the old woman commented.
The doctor gave her a arched brow look and she covered her mouth, "opps...well it can't be helped, i've not even properly met her, or even introduced myself or son to her, not to mention that human child told me she's the sister of one of the companions of a half-breed we've met before." she said with a huff.
"I would like to speak with her myself, she is so peculiar, it's not a problem Natsuko-san, are you going to the river...washing?" he asked waving a hand at the basket.
Natsuko nodded, "yes, I am, we need clean linens...we can't allow her to stay in filth," she said.
"ah, be careful then...even though the demon lord is here...I don't trust any of them...there could be a trap lying in wait...," he said giving the hut a hard stare.
Natsuko tapped one of her shoulders with a closed fist, "I've fended off villagers for years from hurting my poor boy, there ain't a beast out there that can scare me," she said and turned away to continue down the path.
The old doctor watched her go, and smiled.

cold steal bit into her shoulder, Natsuko's basket of cloth flew from her hand and scattered everywhere. Fear rushed through her system as she reached out with a shaky hand trying to grasp for the basket of clothing. It had happened so fast she was still in shock.
Her attacker hovered over her a sneer across the thin lips of the she-fox, "why couldn't you have been young and beautiful...but, your all that's close enough to our target," she said snorting.
"who...who are you," she said grasping for breath, "what target," she said louder, she tried to shout, but her strength was leaving her quickly.
"heh...i guess I can grant your dieing wish...we want the little girl...her youth will feed our master and make her grow in power...as for who we are...well...were the one's that will be the death of the woman and her demon lord," she said stroking the woman's head.
"now, dear, please find peace in the netherworld," she said softly and shoved the sword into her heart twisting.
The world grew black, her eyes grew blurry as time was beginning to slow. Her last fleeting thoughts were, dear god, how will her son ever survive with out her. He was going to suffer, he was going...to be alone.

Rin looked up from the garden smiling up at Jinenji as the two of them worked. She helped him pull weeds and learned about the different plants and what they could do. The doctor even made his own comments sitting on the edge of the garden cross-legged.
The women were returning from the river and Rin watched for Granny, the woman who had quickly become a close friend to her. When she didn't see her return with the rest of the women, Rin grew worried and stood up. She wondered if because of her son, Granny stayed away from the others, could it be possible that she would risk falling in the river that way.
Granny emerged from the treeline a smile on her face and carrying a still stained and dirty basket of clothing. Rin was surprised, she didn't think granny was the type to mess up clothing that way. Rin gasped as she looked down, noticing the bit of blood on the basket and some of the kimono's.
"granny! what happen!" she shouted.
Jinenji was across the field before Rin could bat an eyelash, fawning over his mother with big wet watery eyes, "mama! Did you hurt yourself! Your bleeding!" he cried loudly.
"don't worry about me, I just slipped on some rocks, it seemed pretty bad at first, so I came back to see the doctor...but seems it was all for nothing, the bleeding stopped," she said patting him gently on the cheek.
Jinenji didn't seem satisfied and was still examining his mother, the doctor even approached and gave her a close look, "she is fine boy, it was just a scrape, don't worry," he said, even pointing out an apparent scuff mark on his mother's knee.
Rin wanted to cry, she had enough of all this, it was getting to be to much. Just on cue though, the screaming began. Inside the hut the shouts were growing and you could hear the struggle between the demon lord and the woman as he moved to hold her still. For his sake and her own. Tears streamed down her face, granny dropped her basket of clothing and hobbled to Rin's side circling a protective arm around her shoulders.
"mama I'm going to go help her now," Jinenji said and started towards the hut. The doctor moved closer to Natsuko.
Jinenji looked at him waiting to see if the old man would follow, "go ahead boy...you know what to do already, don't need me," he said waving his hand.
Jinenji nodded once and disappeared inside the hut, once he was out of site, Rin felt the arm of granny grow rather tight around her shoulders.
"granny...your holding me to tight," Rin whispered.
"mmm, I don't want to drop you," she said.
Rin froze...that wasn't granny's voice.
~C~
inside the hut Jinenji was working to make the tonic, when a different scream caught there attention. A child's scream. Sesshomaru knew that sound better then anyone, glancing only one down at the screaming and thrashing woman who's eyes were wide open and unseeing...he didn't care, and dumped her on the ground very unceremoniously, even as it caused pain to wreck through his own body.
Chikara was out the doors before him followed close behind by Jaken and the imp woman Suzuran, who had previously been playing a poor man's version of a board game. Sesshomaru practically leaped out of the open door to see Rin wrapped up in the talon arms of the woman that was Jinenji's mother. Jinenji came out behind him, his eyes wide as the rest of the group except Sesshomaru.
"mama?" he said over the shouting.
Rin was struggling and kicking but it wasn't working, the old woman's face was shifting becoming more fox like, "it's not granny! She's not granny!" Rin shouted.
"that I am not, I am Shuko! The fox woman! Servant of the great Witch Yamasuso," she chuckled.
The doctor stood almost a foot away from her, sporting a straight face he didn't seem fazed at all by the woman slowly turning into a demon. Sesshomaru was furious, and in more ways then one. How the hell had he not noticed them, the demon's that were hiding right in plain site all he had to do was...take...he couldn't' scent them because Cho's body stank of death all around them, he couldn't sense them because his youki was weakened from Cho's condition, he couldn't even keep his mind focused right now because the woman was in pain and her pain...was magnified in his own body.
It had all been a trap, all of it, the witch waited till something like this happened, slowly beating the woman down till she was weak enough to get close to. Had Sesshomaru foolishly allowed her an opening, by letting the stupid human woman face the dragon, knowing the outcome. The doctor smiled and so to did his face begin to shift to look like a fox, the whole time, the doctor had been right there, caring for her...and prolonging the woman's illness, he probably even knew the cure himself.
"That's right Sesshomaru-sama...us lowly vermin have bested you..."the male fox said grinning, "remember my name mi'lord I am Tanji, the old fox, " he said, glancing at the female fox that now looked more like her pretty red young self, "this, is my daughter, such talent she has...if only she could keep your beloved human...and wear her skin for herself, it's a perfect match compared to the old hag," he said.
Shuko giggled and licked Rin on the face, Rin squealed trying to get away.
"where's my mother!" Jinenji suddenly shouted running full speed at them.
Shuko smiled and licked her jowls, "I had to borrow her form, I'm sorry hanyou shit...I ate her, it's the only way to make a perfect transformation possible..." she said running her fingers through her hair, "but don't worry...her image will always live on through me" she said and blew him a kiss.
Jinenji wailed flailing his arms about as he swung them at the fox demons that dodged them. Sesshomaru wasn't to be bested by the half-breed and joined the fray pulling his tokijin from his sash he swung at the fox man Tanji, who just barely dodged out of the way of the blade.
"that was far to close Lord Sesshomaru!" he shouted and reached into his kimono and pulled out a tin flute.
Placing it against his lips he blasted out a shrill note. Inside the hut, Cho's screams became more agonizing. Sesshomaru in mid air, froze, as it felt like his entire body was on fire, his skin crawled, like thousands of living things were wreathing around just under the surface. He could feel as sharp nails scraped at his skin like he was trying to rip it out. Falling towards the earth the demon lord almost staggered.
That was when the cursed bead's sparked wildly, he saw it coming then, as the electricity that seemed to bind them together, shortened quickly. The woman made a chocking sound and she was suddenly being dragged across the wooden floor. For fear he and she would suffocate, Sesshomaru flung himself backwards against the shack, pressing his back flat against the wood, he peered in through the door to see the woman laying on the ground, out cold as she hit her head on the wood. She still wreathed, her body contorting and spasming His own body still on fire.
Meanwhile the fox woman stayed clear of the half-breed's attacks, not ever once could he get close to her. They were backing away into the tree line when Sesshomaru hand jumped back against the shack. Momentarily distracted the old fox took the moment to start digging through his straw basket for something. Chikara not falling for it, his red eyes narrowed on the fox woman he snarled taking a charge.
Chikara matched her speed the two of them darting across the ground at every turn, Chikara would snap his jaws trying to snap them close over what would have been the woman's head. But she would always just be out of reach before he could get her. She was surprised at first and she taunted the silver fox.
"you silly boy, you think you can keep up!" she would shout, no one heard her taunts but the fox and they only seemed to enrage the animal.
She darted backwards falling beside her father just as he lifted an iteam from his straw basket and held it high above his head for all to see before slamming it down on the ground. Chikara was only just a few inches away, Jinenji was just reaching out, the imps coming in with there own attacks, Jaken braising the two headed staff and Suzuran sporting her sword like a highland warrior. The ball exploded sending out sprays of fire, smoke, and debris. The force sent them flying backwards.
The group of comrade stood up, and when the smoke cleared, the two fox's were gone, along with Rin.

Jinenji poured the mixture taught to him by the doctor...who had turned out to be the fox that must have started all the mess in the first place. The doctor knew exactly what was causing Cho's ailment and seemed to have control over it. The mixture was most definitely not something used to help rearing babies, and Jinenji admitted he thought it was strange. Instead it seemed to make her sleep and whatever inside her sleep as well.
They had come to a conclusion it was another curse that had been placed on Cho particularly. But because Sesshomaru could feel what she felt, to the degree in which it would hurt for him, it was also a curse to him. No one in the room wanted to think to hard about it...for the demon lord to truly fell pain to the degree he was...what kind of agony was Cho going through, a mere human...that alone should have killed her.
But she still lived, and it might be do to the fact that they've kept her drugged, at the fox's own instruction. He had created a sense of closeness between all of them, bounding over the needs of the woman. Keeping Sesshomaru's senses dull to complete the illusion and when they least expected it, took Jinenji's mother's form.
It was almost an hour after the attack that a search began and the corpse of Natsuko was discovered by the river side, mostly skeleton as the fox woman had done exactly as she said and ate most of her body. They covered her with a thick blanket and carried her to Jinenji's hut where he cried over her body, holding her close in his massive arms. The village men helped digging a grave among the others in the village, under a shady tree with wispy branches dipping low and creating a cradle in the trees. It's here that Jinenji carefully placed his mother's favorite pot that she so frequently used to whack over the head of people that tried to harm her son.
Jaken said a few words, last rights of some kind mostly to himself and with Suzuran who heard those same words said over and over in her own court proceedings of her royal life. Sesshomaru however did not attend any of these events. It wasn't like he would have anyways, but he remained still beside the human woman, her eyes closed shut tightly.
The cursed beads crackled and popped every time he moved and the chain would resurface. It wouldn't allow him to move more then five feet away from her, before it started to drag her along the ground towards him. Truthfully he wouldn't have cared usually, but in this case, she was a burden, and weight hanging from his neck and the noose that was waiting to take him at any second.
He truly didn't believe it could actually kill him, there wasn't any possible way he could die, not in such a shameful way as being cursed with a human. All humans were walking corpses, there bodies dieing even as they were growing. He wasn't like that, he still had thousands of years a head of him, he was still young, and...even still growing in size as far as his true form was concerned. This would not be his end!
As night drew closer Chikara stood in the door way his paws braced in a strange and striking pose, his head bowed his eyes glowed brighter in the shadow of the door way. Sesshomaru glanced at him, he didn't say anything to the fox, but knew exactly what the beast intended to do, it wanted revenge, it wanted blood.
"do what you want," Sesshomaru told him and looked away, he didn't care. The boy could go and die for all he cared...yes...boy.

Chikara trotted with purpose towards the forest his nose to the ground. Suzuran spotted him as he went and she waved at Jaken, pointing.
"he can't think to go after him on his own, does he," Jaken asked, glancing at Suzuran.
"trust me, I think he will do just fine going after them on his own, he's not all that he appears," Suzuran said glancing back at Jaken.
"well I knew that...but...they have brought My lord to his knees...and he's...a weak little thing..." Jaken muttered.
"well, then lets go, if your so worried about him," Suzuran snorted and ran across the way waving her arms around wildly, "Chikara! Wait wait! I'm coming with you!" she shouted.
Chikara stopped glancing up with wide red eyes he barked once and waited. When she caught up she scrambled onto Chikara's back and hooked her small hands into his silvery white fur. Jaken was close behind and instead of climbing onto the back of the fox he went past him to search the tree's for AnUn.
The dragon's appeared, they looked as if they had been to a strange place as there bodies were covered in a light dusting of ash. Chikara stared hard at the dragons that stared back, and then the fox actually nodded. Barking at Suzuran he launched himself forward darting into the forest faster then Suzuran could blink an eye. Jaken was left to watch there disappearing figure before he to scrambled onto the back of AnUn and urging the dragon to follow them
The fox lead the way, deep into the forest, far beyond the village. It was a long journey, a lot longer then what Suzuran had thought it would be. It was unexpected that the two foxes would cover so much ground in only a very short time. They had covered ground well through the night and dawn was well on it's way to arriving when they arrived at a strange area covered in ash and dead trees.
An old abandoned shrine rose above them dark miasma seemed to fill the area it would be choking to any human being. High above them hanging from a rope cord was Rin. She was breathing heavily and her eyes were closed.
"Rin!" Suzuran shouted she slide off of Chikara's back and made a run for the tree that held her.
"Stop!" a voice shouted, just a the edge of a sharp dagger shout out of the ground, screaming Suzuran fell backwards the point just missing her face.
She turned around staring at the fox that was giving her a clearly annoyed look before glancing up at the shrine again. Jaken and AnUn arrived the dragon roaring out it's arrival. Jaken saw the condition of Rin as well his face grew pale, as he could only imagine the wrath that they would endure if Rin wasn't returned quickly and healthy.
"Come out you foolish foxes!" Jaken shouted.
Sure enough the shrine doors opened and the she-fox Shuto stepped out first followed by her father Tanji, who carried with him a pot of herds and spices.
"ah so good of you to come by, we were just about to boil her flesh and drain her essence of youth for our master," Tanji said smiling from ear to ear.
"Return Rin and release the curse from the human woman!" Jaken demanded, "or you will face the wrath of my lord!"
Tanji and Shuko laughed the two of them sounding like hyena's and they almost doubled over, "Why would we do that...and besides, that curse makes sure Lord Sesshomaru can't reach us no matter how furious he grows. The more he feeds her that tonic, the hungrier the cursed worm becomes, sooner or later, it won't work anymore, and it will eat her from the inside out, slowly killing her and the demon , using the curse beads as a conductance to feed on his Youki and grow in power!" Tanji explained.
Jaken gasped, of course it was a cursed worm, a parasite that powerful casters could control once fed to a target. No doubt Yamasuso pulled the strings in the background controlling the worm and even the curse beads that prevent Sesshomaru from chasing after them.
Shuko pointed at the Chikara calling out, "your a fool, why would you have volunteered to serve a weak human like that, it's beyond me!" she commented.
Jaken snorted, "He doesn't talk, the beast won't understand you," Chikara glanced at him, and snarled.
The fox braced his legs wide and stared hard at the she fox opened his jaws and said, "she is more then my mistress, she is my mother!"
Suzuran gasped, the same voice from before, shouting at her to stop from running to Rin, she knew he was a demon, but didn't know he was sentient enough to speak!
Above them a weak voice giggled, Rin was smiling at them, "Chikara-san, you talk," she whispered.
Jaken was just as surprised, and AnUn, well he wasn't even phased, "just hold on Rin, don't be afraid," Chikara said calmly.
Rin shook her head, "I'm not afraid...," she said
Angry Shuto stomped her foot, "don't just ignore me! Your a fool, you should have eaten that woman and saved yourself years of trouble!" she exclaim
Chikara barked out in laughter and teeth gleaming as he grinned, "and what, serve a witch that doesn't even care that you are about to die!" he snapped.
"you sure are cocky boy, for a lowly ranked beast, you can't even stand on two feet!" Tanji taunted a sly look on his face.
Chikara sat back on his haunches and lifted his front leg to scratch behind his ear, "well now, why would you go and assume that," he said.
Suzuran and Jaken had both assumed the same thing and stared at Chikara with the questioning looks. He actually started laughing again and grinned.
"I can hide my power...a lot better then you can, in fact...you two are so far weaker then me...that it was so easy to dismiss you as humans...you have about the same level of power" he stated and his eyes begun to glow.
A cold wind swept through the clearing sending up the ash that covered the ground, the next thing they knew it was snowing. There own personal blizzard swirling around them and around the fox Chikara as it's center. When the wind cleared and the storm dispersed and snow continued to fall around the form of a young boy, he looked about 10 years old, with long heavy snow white hair and dainty elegant pointed ears. He was fox like in his appearance with a longer face then most young boys, but he was very handsome, as angelic as Sesshomaru. But, he was very pale, almost white, and the pinkish eye color remain...was it possible that he was actually a albino as a demon to? Dressed in very old clothing, clothing much older then the style currently being worn by nobles of the land, he had a long satin cloth wrapped around him floating on its own in the air. Three long tails swirled behind him swishing and stirring the snow in the air, he smiled.
"My name...is Kurama, Though now I go by Chikara, and I am the son of the Great Nine Tail's, Kimon, " he said lifting his arms at either side of himself and bowing his head lightly.
The foxes stared with opened mouth expressions, the revelation of what Chikara really was, well no one could have expected that. The father took careful steps backwards, glancing at his daughter, he swallowed, "take care of them Shuko...I will report to the mistress," he said and leaped jumping across the expanse of space towards Rin.
"I think not!" Chikara shouted, swinging his fist through the air, the ground rumbled the snow gathered and a large shard of ice sprouted from the ground faster then a blink of eye and literally knocked the old fox clear out of the air.
"father!" Shuko shouted she turned charging after Chikara with her sword poised to strike.
Flicking his wrist a sword formed from ice materialized and the two weapons clashed, chunks of the ice flew off from the force. Chikara briefly glanced at the shards, but what could be expected from such a weapon against metal.
"You lie, Kimon died thousands of years ago, his rule ended when the lady Amaterasu stepped down from her throne!" she said hissing as fire started to form around her.
"haha, yea I know, I don't know all the answers myself, I do know, that my mother took me in the night to hide from my Uncle's wrath, she threw me in a well, when I awoke, it was the woman Cho, the woman you are hurting, that took me in as her own!" he said.
She laughed and swung her sword at him again, over and over. Blow for blow he matched her, materializing new ice swords over and over again each time her blow shattered one of his. She was forcing him into a corner, forcing him to back against a tree. Behind them, it appeared as if the old Tanji had completely disappeared and was know where in site.
Taking the chance Suzuran and jaken with the help of AnUn collected Rin from the tree. Rin watched on with half open eyes at Chikara. He floated off the ground, like a celestial being, even in a battle that he appeared to be losing, he looked elegant, just like Sesshomaru-sama.
"Chikara-san!" Rin shouted pumping her little fist she shouted, "Don't let that evil witch defeat you!" she cried.
Chikara tilted his head in her direction, and grinned, the fox woman struck and he ducked, "get Rin out of here, before the old fool gets brave and tries again!" Chikara shouted.
AnUn roared and they glided across the sky and out of site. Chikara twirled to the left, dodging the swing from Shuko's sword, "I will admit...the one thing you have over me, is skill, I haven't practiced sword in almost 8 years I think..well give or take," he side materializing another sword that was quickly shattered.
"I'm more then just a sword fighter boy, I can use fox fire, while, you well, are just a measly ice user," she said and closed her fist as it was engulfed in flames. Her fist hit him full forced in the face sending the fox-child flying backwards and into a tree.
Chikara shook his head standing back on his feet and rolled his shoulders, "yea so you can use kistune fire, what's so great about fire, that's all you and the rest of the courts complained about, be a child of snow, being albino, being to weak compared to father, the list ever goes on," he swirled his wrist in the air and glanced away from her.
"Mama, heh..it was only us to against rest of the world who couldn't except us as we are," he stated again.
There battle continued blow for blow, fire and Ice until there was explosions of power between the two of them. It should have been a easy battle, but Chikara had been right, not only was he a young now former demon lordling, he was also, an actual albino demon, and Albino's weren't as strong as there true color counterparts. Shuko might just be a match for him, three tailed and all.

Jaken and Suzuran land gently in the herbal field. Suzuran leaped off the dragon's back, Leaving Rin in Jaken's care she sped across the clearing shouting.
"Jinenji, Jinenji! it's a Cursed Worm, Cursed worm!" she shouts, Jinenji looks up from his place outside his hut, a young woman was sitting with him, one who might have been pretty at one time if not for the noticeable burn scar running across her face.
Suzuran didn't pay any attention to her, only that they found out the cause of Cho's aliment. Inside the hut Sesshomaru lifted his head hearing the Imp's shouts. He already scented Rin, and knew the child was safety back in there care. Irritated he looked at the woman.
"you...so easily over come by such a incest," he said.
Jinenji said something, "I don't...know how to treat a thing like that," he muttered.
Sesshomaru growled, Typical, of course he didn't know any better then the half-breed. Jaken might have an idea, he could already hear him approaching.
"The best cure for the cursed worm I can recall, is to feed the woman something to induce her to vomit, if the worm is most likely still in her gut, it only moved when given an order, and would most likely return to the place it would have built it's nest," the imp said.
Sesshomaru stood up and stepped out the hut, the woman carried in his one arm, because the blasted cord had been growing steadily shorter just to irritate him the more he thought of how much he wanted to just kill the woman and get it over with, he truly believed the measly curse couldn't' possibly kill him.
"Do it now, This Sesshomaru has been inconvenience enough," he said, a dark look filling his eyes.
Rin saw him and ran to Sesshomaru's side wrapping her arms around his leg she looked up at him with watery eyes, "Sesshomaru-sama, I was really scared...but Chikara, he saved me, did you know Chikara was a demon like you, he was so pretty!" she said.
"hn..." Sesshomaru responded, Jinenji looked confused, "the little fox...was a demon," he said surprised.

Chikara's ice shard stuck out through the fox female's chest, while blood seeped from his shoulder from a very deep cut, he had a second wound that he tried to press close himself was trough his stomach where her sword had previously been buried. He was losing blood fast but not as fast as the woman. She was chuckling now as she stared at him.
"your a very handsome male...you know that...it's to bad you aren't older," she whispered.
"I wouldn't have chosen a female like you anyways," he said back, coughing.
She laughed hard blood spraying out, "your arrogant, for a brat, to bad," she said.
Glancing up at the sky as dawn begun to finally come, the sun bathing them in light, she smiled impaled on the ice shards. Chikara stood not far from her glancing up at the sun as well, hunched over his tails dragging the ground. Glancing back down she held up her hand, a broken ice shard in her hand. The last of her fox fire sprung forth and launched the spike from her hand, it soared through the air and Chikara, glanced up at the last second to watch the shard sink deep into his own chest. He fell backwards, staring up at the sky.
The woman screamed, just as his ice started to spread engulfing her inside the frozen tundra that took the shape of a very prickly rose blossoming out with sharp edged petals, it roots spreading around them and around him creating a creating of protection around his body. Chikara didn't say anything else, only stared at the sky above him.
Would Cho cry, would she be like Jinenji, lost now with out there closest loved one to protect them. Did it matter, he called Cho his mother, but he had always played the part of her pet in the real world, and humans, they got over pets in time, and found new ones.
In the end, Chikara was still the weak albino beast, son of a long ago dead lord, that had been revered for all his power, but hated for his useless heir. He had spoke big, claiming to be so much stronger then the fox woman, heh. Closing his eyes, he decided, he would just, take a nap for awhile. Yes, just for a little while.
