"Of course Granger. Can't have you dying under my watch or else your best friend Pothead would kill me," He joked and heard her laugh. "You have a nice laugh too." Hermione blushed. Now he chuckled. "Good night Hermione," he said before closing the door.

The next morning, Hermione found herself waking up to the delicious smell of bacon and eggs. It was quite a surprise considering she didn't know Draco could cook.

"Ah! Good morning Hermione!" Draco greeted her with a bright smile. "Did you sleep well last night?"

Stunned at his sudden change of heart, she answered "yes, thank you."

"Good, that's good," he replied back, that smile still showing as he cooked the bacon and stirred the scrambled eggs. He looked up and noticed the confused look on her face.

"You're wondering why I'm in the kitchen cooking while I let you sleep in this morning?" She nodded silently. "Well my mother and I decided to give you the day off because you've had a rough few days and I wanted to return the favor."

"What favor?"

"For not blasting away some of my family's irreplaceable and expensive belongings even though you were probably extremely angry at the entire situation and wanted to let off some steam."

"You're correct about my being angry but I respect the law well enough to know had I done that and it had been reported to Umbridge, I would have been executed." She explained. "That's where you're wrong Gryffindor Princess." He cut her off.

"You see, Potter made a deal with my parents. They promised to personally request for your service to my family to keep an eye on you for him. My mother has been giving Potter a weekly report to keep him updated."

Tears swelled in her eyes, thought out loud with a sad smile.

"Always the hero," she said and he agreed.

"So if you're still building up that anger inside, and if you're interested, we can go some place secluded and make target practice out of old China my parents no longer use or like."

Hermione beamed at the suggestion. "I think I would actually like that a lot Mal- er, I mean, Draco."

He smiled at her and she smiled back. It was the first time she had since this nightmare began.

"Oh! Right. Breakfast first." He snapped out of his trance. "We have scrambled eggs, bacon, toast with jelly, orange juice and if you want anything else, I'll cook it." He offered her a plate of food as he listed off the items of what he had cooked.

"Go ahead, try it," he encouraged her as she took a bite of the eggs.

"This is delicious! Where did you learn to cook like that?" She asked him in between bites.

"My mother taught me when I was young and I've grown to love cooking. It's just like making potions," he compared. "She taught me the basics but I took classes the summer we were supposed to graduate. Maybe perhaps after the target practice, you can teach me what you learned from Mrs. Weasley and your mother."

"Of course, Draco, I'd be more than happy to."
