"ZIZIZIZIZIZIZI!" laughed the leader of the treasure hunters who were searching for the guarded treasure.
"The time has finally come! When we find the treasure I will become rich and we will live in luxury!" The leader declared.
"WE WILL FOLLOW TSUCHI-SAMA FOREVER." his men yelled.
The man enjoyed the loyalty of his men.
It made it easier to get them to activate the traps waiting for them.
He laughed silently at the foolish men.
He raised his mug. " Everyone, cheers!"
"CHEERS!"
He started laughing silently again by picturing the amount of gold that is waiting for him.
"EEEEH! Stupid little girl. You have been guarding this treasure for years but you don't know where it is!" Skull scolded her.
"Skull leave her be. It going to be more fun to find without anyone helping us." the captain of the Spade Pirates said.
"If we want to find the treasure faster then those other guys wouldn't it be better to split up in 2 groups," Mira suggested.
"I think it is a good idea." Deuce agreed. "How about it, Ace?"
I took a few seconds for him to make his decision.
"I made my decision. We will split into 2 groups to search for the treasure. We will decide the 2 teams with pulling straws. The one with a red mark will go together and those without one will go to."
"I brought the straws."
Everyone looked very focused.
"What's with you guys, it's just choosing teams?" I asked them.
Everyone except Anna eyed Ace fiercely.
I can already tell what they are thinking.
"ONE!"
"TWO!"
"THREE!"
Everyone looked at Ace's straw and then looked at their own.
Some of us sighed of relief and the other had a look of distress.
Team 1 consisted of Ace, Skull and me. Team 2 consisted of Mira, Leo, Deuce. It was also decided that Anna would tag along with Ace.
"YOSH! LET THE TREASURE HUNT START!" Ace announced.
Everyone grinned at him except Skull.
It seems he was upset with the fact that he is stuck with a ghost. He really doesn't like eerie things.
"Skull, even though you have a skeleton mask, you get scared of this ghost girl. Toughen yourself up a bit." I encouraged him.
"Don't compare me to monsters like you." he retorted.
I sighed at his response.
"It can't be helped." Ace sighed as well.
Anna approached the skull mask-wearing man.
"What do you want?" Skull asked her while taking a guarding pose.
"I'm sorry for what happened earlier. I hope we can get along in the future." Anna apologized.
The archaeologist was taken off guard and saw how childish he was acting.
"It's okay already," he replied while scratching the back of his head.
Ace gave him a look sideways.
"Taiyou, I have been thinking for a while. Isn't Skull 'that'?" Ace questioned.
That? Ah, that what he means.
"I think he might be 'that'," I responded.
"What are you guys talking about?" Skull demanded with suspicion.
"We are talking that you are 'that'," I answered him.
"And might be 'that'?"
"That you are a lolicon." Ace finally said.
"Impossible! How could you call me a lolicon without any evidence." Skull exclaimed while Mira was shielding Anna from him.
"I sensed your temperature rasing a bit when she apologized." our captain inquired.
"It's right I was blushing but that wasn't because she approached me. And since when could you do that?"
"I was lying I just wanted to see your reaction. And why were you blushing? It seems my suspicion was right." Ace stated.
"I was just blushing because I realised how I was acting to her the whole time," he replied.
"I already knew about that." Ace declared.
"Then why call me a lolicon?"
"Because it was funny."
He started laughing loudly as Skull sighed at the situation he was in.
"You ready, Skull?"
"Of course I am ready."
"Then let's officially start the Treasure hunt."
We encountered 2 big cave entrances.
"I have a bad feeling about both of the caves." Deuce shivered.
"What the hell are you saying, Deuce? It will be okay." Ace reassured our chronicler.
"Don't 'It will be okay' me. We don't know if there are any traps here since that Anna has never entered this place. You guys better stay cautious and keep Anna safe."
"How do you even keep a dead person safe?" I questioned.
"I don't know just do it," Mira ordered.
"Like I said It would be okay." Ace heartened her while stepping on the most obvious trap in the world.
As he stepped on the thin rope that people could see with the naked eye, he triggered.
We heard a loud sound.
"This is way too cliche. The people who will read my books will laugh at this dumb accident."
It came. The most common trap. A rolling border.
Deuce tried to stop with his card but they were all crushed.
"We are splitting here. We will take left." Ace chose.
"WAIT! Don't decide so quickly." Mira yelled as she realised that her captain is away already.
"ACE WHEN I SEE YOU AGAIN I WILL BEAT YOU TO DEATH!" she announced while she was dragged away by Deuce and Leo.
We were running as fast as possible because the boulder was still following.
Skull tried to shoot the boulder but he could any create a few dents while running.
"Ace, do something," I commanded him.
"Like what?" Ace demanded.
"Just bust with your flames."
"But you can cut it, right?"
"Like hell I can, I don't know how thick the boulder I might collapse the cave if I try to cut it."
"I understand. I will do something." the captain who ate the Flame-Flame fruit gathered a huge fireball and leapt towards the boulder.
"Ace-san" the ghost girl yelled with a disbelieving look on her face.
"RED HAWK"
He faced us while laughing loudly.
"I managed to do it. This move is a nice one," he exclaimed.
Skull and I started running again.
"What's with you guys? Not even going to praise." he gave our backs a disappointed look.
"Ace-san, hurry up and notice the boulders approaching you!" Anna warned him.
"E-eeh, you could have said earlier," he said while sprinting at full speed.
"Anna, your father was sure a worrywart to have this kind of traps."
"Thank you. I'm sure my father would be happy to hear that." she laughed sheepishly while scratching the back of her head.
"It wasn't meant as a compliment." Ace retorted.
"Ace-san, I can see the exit already."
"Hai."
He threw his arms backwards and launched himself forward.
He left the cave and couldn't see the floor.
He looked down and saw water. Seawater.
As he was falling someone caught his hand.
"Lucky bastard. Or rather unlucky how could you trigger a trap twice." Skull scolded him.
The situation we were in wasn't to laugh towards to. We were located at the canyon where the bottom was the sea. We were hanging on a rope that was attached at the pier that was the last part of the cave we run through.
"It seems I am very lucky to have you guys watching my back." Ace grinned.
"We aren't lucky look at the rope I am holding. It will give up soon. We need to climb up. I think the boulders are gone already." I suggested.
"Let's do that. But can we jump to the other side?" Skull asked.
"If we run hard enough and jump at the right timing we might reach it," Ace said.
"Let's go with that before this rope gives in."
We climbed at the top of the pier.
We ran at the same time and jumped.
But one of us didn't manage to reach it...
