"Are you seriously serious about that?" Beckett asked after Myles closed and locked the basement cell door.
The young genius rolled his eyes, "I can not begin to explain what your grammar errors are this time." The two began walking up the basement steps to the ground floor. "Either way, no. I was bluffing. We could try to access Artemis' computer and see if people show up, but only one fairy came to the manor. I would have suspected at least a dozen."
"So, you think only that fairy got the message?"
Myles nodded, "Yes, I believe the signal was secluded. It makes sense."
The teenagers were about to go up the grand stairs to their room, when the doorbell rang. Beckett didnt even look back, because he couldnt. Not without showing his brother the devious smirk on his face that would make his older sibling proud.
"Why dont you go and get this? I have to do my homework, and I know you already finished it."
Myles nodded again, this time a bit more distracted by thoughts. "Alright. Try and do the ones you know and then I'll help when I come up."
"I dont need your help." The blonde murmured, continuing to walk up the steps.
"Yes...You do." The genius sighed and shook his head, knowing that it would be useless to argue with his incompetent brother. He decided he should just see who was at the door.
Walking to and opening the white front doors of the manor, Myles' eyes widened immensely.
"Hey, Fowl."
"T-Trinity?" Myles asked, clearly dumbstruck for the first time in his life.
The girl pushed a lock of smooth black hair out of her eyes and smiled shyly. "Yeah. Beckett told me that you could help me on the new history project."
Myles was about to get defensive about Beckett saying anything without telling him first, but then he realized what his twin had done. He smiled at her, trying to seem friendly for once. "Oh, right. He told me you were coming. I just expected...sometime later in the day."
Trinity's innocent eyes widened, as if she had done something wrong. "Oh, Im sorry. I can leave if you want-"
"No. It's fine. Please, come in." Myles moved out of the way. Trinity smiled again, pushing up the glasses on the bridge of her nose before walking into the manor.
"Wow. I've read about this place in books before. Never thought I would be here."
Myles nodded, following behind her as she looked around. "Its an old house, originally a-"
"A castle." She looked at him, then averted her eyes to the floor shyly again.
"Listen, Trinity...Why dont you go into the sitting room and get your books ready? I need to talk to Beckett."
The teenage girl nodded, turning to the right and going into the next room.
"Beckett!" Myles whispered harshly. So harshly that the teen turned in his seat swiftly and almost fell off the edge of the swivel seat he was sitting in.
"What?" He asked innocently. As though he didnt know.
"What is Trinity doing downstairs?" He whispered harshly, as if she was right outside their room instead of all the way downstairs.
The blonde shrugged nonchalantly, "She said she needed help. I said that you could."
"Yeah, way to go. Now we have to worry about someone else finding about the elf in the basement!" Myles shook his head, "I'm going to go and tell her to come back tomorrow."
Beckett sighed, "I can take care of Trinity. You go check up on the elf." Beckett paused looking up at Myles' face. His brother was confused. "If I go and tell her to leave, you wont be to blame for her coming all the way here."
Myles looked at the door, then back at Beckett. "Fine. Wait a minute after I leave so I can sneak down to the basement without Trinity seeing me." The blonde nodded. "Alright."
The young genius left the room, and a minute later, Beckett followed. He didnt see his twin when he entered the sitting room to talk to Trinity, so he took that as a sign that Myles got down to the basement safely.
"Hey, Trin." Beckett greeted. The young girl was sitting on the couch, reading her textbook and taking notes. She looked up at Beckett and smiled.
"Hello." She replied quietly. Then she scrunched her eyebrows and looked behind him. "Where's Myles?"
Beckett shook his head, sitting down next to her. She shot a confused expression to him and he explained.
"Im so sorry for making you come all this way, Trin. Myles and I have been caught up on an assignment of our own right now and I'm afraid you will have to leave."
Trinity cocked her head to the right. "What kind of assignment? Maybe I can help-"
"I dont think you can."
"Yes I can!" She said, getting up and putting her hands on her waist. "Just because I'm a girl, that doesnt mean I am inferior to you! I probably work twice as hard as any male at school."
Beckett was still trying to figure out what inferior was when he got up as well, "That doesnt matter, either way. It's personal and about our other brother."
Trinity's eyes widened, "Artemis?" It wasnt surprising that she knew about him. Almost everyone knew Artemis as a legend at the school, he went there when he was Beckett and Myles' age, but that was when it was an all boys school only.
"Yes. Now, if you'll please leave us to it. I'm sorry, again, for all the trouble of coming over here." He started to lead her out of the manor.
He opened the door and Trinity took one step out of the Manor before a loud outburst erupted from the other side of the manor and rang throughout it.
"BUTLER!"
Both Beckett and Trinity's eyes widened and before Trinity could say anything, Beckett slammed the front doors closed, causing Trinity to jump back suddenly.
Thank and love you all! GO CHECK OUT WATTPAD!
