The big move in
Humphreys POV:
Today was the big day as today was the day that my family and me will be moving out of Jasper and into Africa so my father can retire from being king and so I can take his place. I slowly got up from my slumber and stood up before looking down at my family with a smile on my face. As I looked at them I said. "What did I do to deserve such a wonderful family?" I then walked out of the den to get a drink of water from a nearby river.
When I reached the river I slowly dipped my muzzle in and began to drink and enjoy the feeling of the ice-cold water running down my throat until something pushed me in from behind. When I rose from the water I was greeted with a laughing Kontomblé. I glared at him and asked. "Will you ever grow up you old prankster? This is the fifth prank you've pulled on me since you got here and you only arrived yesterday." He chuckled and said. "Oh come on you could let an old man have a little fun." I sighed and shook my head before saying. "I guess so." He then helped me out of the river as I asked. "So when are we leaving for Africa?" Kontomblé replied. "After breakfast." I nodded before he walked off while I returned to my den.
When I got back to the den I found Kate and the pups/cubs in the main area. While my offspring's played Kate was watching them to make sure none of them were playing too roughly and got hurt. When she saw me she smiled and said. "And where were you this morning my handsome African?" I smiled at her and said. "Went out to get a drink of water and ran into Kontomblé who pushed me into the river when I wasn't looking." She sighed and asked. "When will that crazy old man grow up?" I replied. "I think he's just getting it out of his system since he won't be able to prank me when I become a king." She walked up and nuzzled me as she said. "With me as your queen." I chuckled before I said. "Well let's get breakfast started." She nodded before I pulled out a large caribou and as always Kate and me had to get through our sons and daughters for a mere scrap of meat. Once we were done eating we packed up all our stuff such as masks, my Korra, my carving knife etc before we went outside and walked towards the meeting place where we were meant to be meet up with Kontomblé to be sent to Africa.
When we arrived we found every member of the united pack were waiting there to see us off. I smiled at them before my omega pals walked up as Salty said. "We're really going ta miss you Humphrey." I replied with a sad smile. "Yeah I'm going to miss you guys to but hey Kontomblé will give you guys a way to visit me and my family in Africa whenever you want." They smiled at me before they let us pass through. We ran into Winston and Eve next. Eve said in a completely calm voice. "You better take good care of my daughter and grandpups Humphrey or so help me I will come to Africa and rip your insides out and feed them to some hungry bears." We all stared at her in horror before I shook my head and said. "Don't worry Eve I will guard them with my life." She smiled and said. "Oh such a nice boy." Then Winston said. "I always did like you Humphrey." I smiled at him and said. "Thank you sir." He smiled at me and I smiled back before they let us through. We arrived in the middle of the area where Kontomblé was waiting for us. He smiled at us as he asked. "Ready for the trip?" I smiled at him and said. "You know it." He smiled before he gathered my family and me into a huddle before he took out a small bag and slowly poured powder out of it around us. Once the powder encircled us he said. "Time to go." We waved to everyone around us before Kontomblé hit the bottom of his staff against the ground causing the powder to ignite in blue flames that soon engulfed us before we were flung into the air.
When we landed I felt a little dizzy and I'm guessing they all felt a little dizzy because they were stumbling around a bit. While they recovered from the trip I looked around only to find that we were sitting in the middle of the African savannah and I could make out the village in the distance. I then noticed the opening to a den that appeared to be quite large on the inside. Kontomblé must have noticed where I was looking as he said. "This is your new den. I hope it is to your liking. I would stay to help you unpack but I have to go tell Leonard you have arrived so goodbye for now." I waved goodbye to him before I turned to my family and noticed they had recovered from the dizziness of the trip so I said. "Well everyone welcome to the African Savannah. Our new home." They all looked around as Kate walked up to me and said. "Oh Humphrey this place is so beautiful." I replied. "I know and I know you're just going to love the view as the light of the setting sun dances across the golden grass of the savannah while the sun gently caresses your face before leaving the land until tomorrow leaving behind a portrait of gentle stars which have a sparkle that is only rivaled by the sparkle of your eyes." She responded by going. "Oh you're so romantic." She then nuzzles me and I nuzzled back. We stopped when I noticed our little pup Jacob wondering off into the tall grass, which didn't surprise me since he's always wanting to go exploring new places since the day, he could walk. I rolled my eyes before walking over to where he was and asked in a playful voice. "And where do you think you're going young man." He gave a sheepish smile before saying. "Out to explore." I chuckled at his curiosity before saying. "There'll be time for that later. We've still got to set up the den then I'll take you and your siblings along with your mother out for a trip in the savannah. That sound good champ?" He responded by jumping up excitedly while yelling. "YEAH!" I shook my head at his excitement before rubbing his head and leading him into the den where the rest of the family was. When I entered with Jacob I saw that this new den was just as big as Winston and Eves den in Jasper. Kate then asked. "So do you think we'll be able to make this den our home?" I replied. "Kate sweetie are you forgetting that I lived in this beautiful land for three months? I can make this place our home no problem." She smiled, gave me a kiss and said. "I hope so my brave African warrior." I smiled at her before I said. "Well let's turn this place into a home." She nodded before we gathered up our pups/cubs so they could help us with the set up.
2 hours later
We were finally done setting up our new home and it looked amazing. At the back was the blanket with grass underneath it, the walls were decorated with masks, my kora and drum rested in a corner at the back, my carving knife was resting in the wall high enough so the pups can't get ahold of it and hurt themselves, my grinding stone was resting in a corner with a few jugs full of different medicines, gels and juices. I smiled at my families work before I felt a poking on my side. I looked down and found Jacob looking up at me excitedly as he said. "Papa you said you'd take us on a tour of the savannah when we're done setting up." I smiled and said. "I did so we better round up the family and get going." He let out an excited yell before going to gather our family.
5 minutes later
My family was rounded up before me and Kate were forced to calm our little ones down so we could get moving. I smiled at my family all ready to go before I said. "Okay everyone before we head out there are a few rules for you to follow while we're out there in the savannah. First rule always stay close to me at all times unless I say it's okay but stay in my line of sight, second rule don't eat anything unless either me or one of my African friends says it's safe to eat, third rule always watch your step or you could step on or in something nasty like a poison thorn, a poisonous snakes tale or worse-" Kate cut me off and asked. "What could be worse than those?" I replied. "Warthog poo. It happened to me once and I washed my paw for three hours and I can still feel it on my paws." I let out a shiver before I said. "Now this is the fourth and final rule. Stay away from rhinos and wildebeest because they will kill you. Is all that clear?" They all nodded at which I smiled at before I said. "Well then let's get going." We then exited the den so I can show my family the land in which I was trained.
AN: Hey everybody it's been a long time. I'm really sorry it took me so long to come up with and write this chapter but I just lost my Alpha and Omega creative spark but luckily it has been reignited. Turns out a good place to reignite my inspirational flame are a church carved into a mountain in Cyprus. That and it made me feel at peace with the world. Anyway I've decided to balance things out by writing a chapter for Alpha and Omega then write one for my HTTYD story which I wrote to help me with my block but then write Alpha and omega again and so on and so forth so till next time.
