Chapter Eleven:
Charlie walked into the living room running a hand through her hair in frustration; she huffed as Brax looked at her.
"Mia is on her bedroom floor throwing a tantrum. She won't talk to me."
Brax sighed. "It's a phase Charlie, it will wear off"
"She hates the idea of having a sister. She won't look at me"
"I'll talk to her"
Charlie shook her head as she placed a hand on the back of the couch. "She doesn't want you. I quote her when I say 'I hate mummy and daddy'"
Brax grimaced. "Charlie."
"What?"
Brax nodded towards the stairs. Mia dragged her wheelie blue frozen suitcase down the stairs, it landed on the ground with a thud but she tugged it towards the door.
"Mia? Mia, honey, where are you going?" Charlie asked.
Mia looked up at her, blowing the hair from her eyes and trying to pull her pink jacket on as it fell off her shoulder. "Me running away. I'm living with Auntie Tegan. Not you."
"Mee Mee, don't go." Charlie begged just as there was a knock on the door.
"I don't want a sister! Don't call me Mee Mee!" Mia shouted as she opened the door to reveal Tegan. "Hey Aunty Tegan!"
"You're my daughter honey, you can't go. Please, we'll talk about this."
"Let's go Auntie Tegan!" Mia shouted as she grabbed Tegan's hand, trying to drag her away.
"Mia, go get your siblings please, I just need to talk to your mum and dad for a sec." Tegan told Mia.
"No! They're gonna tell you not to take me!"
Tegan looked down at Mia pushing the fringe away from her eyes. "Go find Cassie and I'll come get you in a minute"
Mia pouted. "Promise?"
"Promise"
Brax glanced at Tegan as Mia left the room. "Hey Teegs, what are you doing here?"
Tegan rolled her eyes. "So blonde Brax, my week for the kids remember? I take it Mia isn't handling the pregnancy well"
Charlie sighed as she sunk into the couch. "Loves the idea of a brother but hates the idea of a sister. Claims to be coming to live with you"
Tegan noticed the distraught look in Charlie's eyes. "I'll take her"
Brax looked at her wide eyed. "What? Tegan! We are not sending our four year old to live with you"
"How could you suggest something like that?"
Tegan giggled. "Would you two relax? I meant for the week. I have our kids Brax, I'll take Mia and she'll realise that she can't stay with me. I'm having a baby too. It's not like by living with me she'll escape that" Tegan touched Charlie's hand. "She's four years old. One week with me and she'll be begging to come home"
"You think?" Charlie asked looking up with teary eyes.
Tegan nodded. "I know she will. Mia is just upset"
"She hates me!" Charlie cried. "My baby girl hates me!"
"Charls, she'll be fine. Trust me, okay?" Tegan asked, reaching out to touch Charlie's hand.
"I don't want her to go!" Charlie sobbed. "I don't want to lose my daughter."
"It's just for a week, you know how four year olds get, she'll get over it."
"She's scared that she won't be the baby of the family anymore."
Charlie whirled around to see Ruby.
"But that's crazy!" Charlie sobbed. "All of my kids will always be my babies."
"Mia is four, mum. She doesn't understand. Teegs is right. One week and she'll be begging to come home"
Charlie sighed, knowing both Tegan and Ruby were right. "Okay"
"Mum. You're here" Sammie shouted as she jumped down the last two steps and run over to hug her mum.
"No me first" Chase shouted as he pushed Sammie.
Tegan laughed. "Hold up. You're all coming home with me. Chase no pushing"
"But..." Chase whined. "I missed you"
Tegan's features softened. "I missed you, bubba"
Jade came into the room with Mia clinging to her back. "Is this little monkey coming?"
"Yes"
Brock frowned. "No fair"
"Yeah! No fair. Me come too Auntie Tegan" Drew whined.
"Sorry buddy, not all of you can come home with me, some of you need to stay behind with Charlie and Brax."
"And we're aren't that bad right mate?" Brax asked Drew.
"I wanna go Auntie Tegan's." Drew answered.
"You can come over buddy, anytime." Tegan promised.
"But not today" Drew pouted
"No. Not today" Tegan agreed.
"Mum can we go? Please?" Jack asked.
"Okay we are going. Say good-bye to your father and Charlie. Mia, say goodbye to mummy and daddy"
Mia turned her head. "No"
Charlie sniffled as she leaned forward and kissed the little girls head. "I love you, Mee Mee"

Tegan opened the door to the house as she carried Mia in. "Go and put your stuff away, then you can help with dinner. We are having company tonight"
Jack turned around with a raised eyebrow. "Who?" He asked curiously.
Tegan smiled. "My boyfriend"
Taylah wrinkled her nose. "Mum, we just got you back. Are you seriously going to get a boyfriend?"
Darcy sighed. "Mum, can't it just be us and the baby"
"What's his name?" Jade asked.
"His name is Daniel, and no, it just can't be us and the baby, but you guys will like Daniel, I promise."
"What if he's a dick?" Jack asked.
"What's a dick?" Mia asked.
Tegan shot Jack a look. "Jack, did you have to? He is not a… well… he's not… that word."
"What's a dick?" Mia asked again.
Tegan threw a desperate look to the kids, which clearly said 'distract her.'
Cassie grinned. "Mi, I want to show you something. Come on"
Mia sighed as she wriggled out of Tegan's arms. "Okay but it better be good" Mia warned seriously, Cassie just smiled at her cuteness.

Jade walked into Jack's room with Darcy on her heels. "Mum cannot have a boyfriend. We have to get rid of him"
"I agree" Darcy flopped down in the chair. "We only just got mum back"
Jack chucked his phone on the bed. "Mum needs a man girls. Dads married to Charlie"
Jade glared. "That's different we've had dad all our lives"
"Mum deserves happiness too" Jack told them.
Taylah giggled from the doorway. "No man is going to want to take on seven kids especially with a baby on the way. He'll probably walk out before we even say hello."
"Come on sis, don't be so negative," Jack scolded. Taylah just glared at him. "Tay, Daniel could make mum happy, and we haven't even given him a chance."
Darcy hugged a pillow to her chest as she bit a nail. "I hate to say it Jack, but I think you're right."
"Of course I'm right." Jack said.
Darcy threw the pillow at him. "Not always doofus. What about that time you glued that barbie doll to Jade?"
"I remember that!" Jade exclaimed. "You egg! It took mum ages to get that off!"
"We were six!" Jack exclaimed.
Taylah broke out in a fit of giggles. "We've had some fun times."
"Darceeeeey Jaddddde Jaccccck Tayyyylah" Mia jumped into the room bouncing on her heels. "Mr Daniel is here and he brought candy!"
Taylah rolled her eyes as she patted Mia's head. "That's the nice guy act"
Jack rolled his eyes at his sister. "Taylah be nice to Daniel or tomorrow morning you'll wake up covered in tomato sauce."
"Eww Jack, you're so gross!" Taylah exclaimed.
"It's better than shaving foam!"
"Okay guys that's enough, let's go meet Mr. Candy Man." Darcy sighed.
