Chapter 11: story of the past

When the group arrived at the Jilted rose they all piled into the meeting room downstairs, and locked the door as soon as it was closed. Poteros had a look on his face and both Juto and Parzuel saw it. "Something bugs me. That deathknight was an exceptional fighter. I wonder if he was pally in his past life? " Everyone thought about that and Lania wondered if that was the truth of it. "My Mentor said there was 7 Revered Paladins, but something is missing, I believed him, but now that I think about it something is missing."

"Tell us his version and maybe I'll tell the version my grandfather told Sen and I" Lania said he nodded and sat down in one of the empty seats.

"The eastern plaguelands is known for its countless battles against the scourge and it's never ending diseases, however, Hope's Chapel has always been a beacon for the hope of it one day ending. Paladins of the Argent Dawn fighting endlessly against them, plotting, planning, and always trying to be one step ahead of the scourge. One day something darkened their sky more then what it normally was and the fought vigilantly, but failing, many died. Some say that the seven appeared separately, and others say one wielded two blades, but no one knows for sure. They arrived and fought back the undead giving the others time to breathe before taking them on again.

Once the scourge retreat they had a moments rest to plan and such like before. The seven that had appeared greeted each other like they were friends, There was Gorwin Ironweaver; A dwarf from small standings and always wanted to protect others when they could not. Torwick Goldvine, Another Dwarf bit of a hard ass and cold hearted, but loved his people greatly to die for them. Aiden Fairweather, A human with a heart of gold, and always ready to put a smile on his comrades faces. Sasha Grey-light, A human of great renowned, Bright and understanding, and a fighter against the evil of the world. Erons Fire-starter, A mentor, friend, and someone not to cross with, but always saw the good in things, renowned paladin fought beside the great Sylvannas at some point. Taithias Darkmoon, an elf detached from all emotions, trained to be a paladin since childhood, The only Paladin to wield two blades in both hands.

And finally Tal' Kael Starflame, a fierce fighter, family driven, and stood with a righteous vigor. These seven dared this great enmity over the orders of retreat, as they stood tall and fought hard, they could not defeat it. I don't know how, but in the end they found means of sealing it away and when the darkness disappeared so did they never to be heard from again. Their story was told for centuries, but always different the next time it was told. " Poteros said leaning back and sighing.

"hmmm the story sounds convincing, but something is missing Erons never fought beside Sylvannas, he fought beside King Varian, they stood mutually together against a common enemy and when the fighting was over the two considered each other friend." Lania said Poteros did not know that and was awed by that revelation.

"And Gramps only went against the evil Enmity because it threatened his family lives." Sen put in "Also he said that there was another, but his memory wasn't all that great at that time, and even if there was another, there's no proof of it."

"If this Taithias is really who Poteros thinks he is, he might know more." Juto pipes up. Poteros shooked his head.

"Not if his memory is the way it is." he said they remained silent after that in thought.

"What if there's a book explaining the enmity?" Asha says after a long pause from everyone else.

"If there is a book the guardian will have it and it's in the crazy long forgotten tower of his." Jusho said Gillibit knew that the worgen mage had been dying to go there to unlock the secrets that was inside.

"Do you really believe Medivh had a book of such thing?" Poteros questions.

"Hell if I know, the only person who would; would be Khadgar and he's a hard person to track down." Jusho said Asha nodded at that, but then again she thought, maybe there wasn't really a book about it, however, it was worth going to Karazhan. She had always wanted to go there to see inside the tower, but the stories where monstrous and anyone who venture in had became lost or dead.

"I don't think there is a book, and if there is Karazhan won't have it." Lania said although she wouldn't know, but she didn't feel the need to see everyone die inside that tower. "That's if the fairy tale is true and I don't know if it is, cause there is so many versions to the story." They all knew that to be true and if there had been truth to it it have to have shown itself by now. A knock sounded at the door and Juto answered the door enough to stick his head out.

"Yea?" he said to Alerix A dwarf who had always looked for a good time.

"There's a dwarf by the name of Gorwin Ironweaver here to see you Juto." he said Juto nodded his head and stepped out of the room and followed Alerix upstairs to the front of the guild hall. Juto laid eyes on the dwarf pally standing near the door, he looked tired, but determined.

"you must be Gorwin it's nice to meet you." Juto said putting out a hand which Gorwin took and gave a firm shake, Juto later offered a place to sit which the dwarf took gladly and sat down.

"Glad you could take a minute out of your time to talk, but there's a few things I need to discuss with you if you don't mind." the dwarf replied locking eyes Juto in a serious expression.

Illidan landed on the roof of the inn in Rut'theran village, but stayed out of view for the most part. He placed Laira down onto the roof and made her turn to him and gently placed finger under her chin to look up at him. Her green eyes pierced into his soul and he took a shaky breath, he wouldn't normally go to his brother for help for her family, if it hadn't been the fact that he cared so much for the little blood elf. "stay here Laira, I'm gonna have to do something to get my brother attention." he said going into the air once more. She heard his voice ring out on the small island as he talked to the elves that where stationed there.

"Bring your leaders out here, or see this island and your link outside your city destroyed!" he roared as he summoned magic into one hand. One of the sentinels not wanting to see her land destroyed had went through the portal to fetch Tyrande and Malfurion. Illidan stayed in the air looking down at his former people starring up at him. Ten to Fifteen minutes later the sentinel that went to get them came back with the two in tow.

"Illidan..." Malfurion started to say, but a voice stopped him.

"No! He is here, because I asked for his help." Laira said getting down from the roof. Illidan landed and came to stand slightly behind Laira as a way to pull her back if things went bad. Tyrande lightly placed a hand on Malfurion shoulder and turned to Laira with a kind smile.

"What help can we lend you?" she asked in kind.

"I think I know who killed one of your people... I believe he's looking for something to control the choices of my cousin's mind, I don't know exactly, but I believe it's the same elf who killed a young night elf." she said. Malfurion turned to Laira then and Illidan tensed for the look Malfurion was giving Laira.

"How do you know of this?" Malfurion says knowing he had not released the information of that murder.

"My Cousin Lania is looking into it, she believes it's a blood elf that had done it, she also believes that something bigger is involved with him. For some reason I believe her, we were in Terokkar forest when I had spotted him conspiring with someone. He wanted the paladin to fetch him a magical purple gem, of course the Human said he'd do it for a right price." she explained

Malfurion sighed and relaxed his arms "That's right we deemed it as so, the only confusion is why?" he said. "Brother why go all this trouble, you haven't done so before?"

" I have my reasons Malfurion, reasons you may not understand." Illidan said his voice hard. "We suggest you take Laira warning to heart and give the information who needs it most. you have been warned, I do not need thanks Brother, for this warning was not of my suggestion, but hers, be thankful for that." Laira backed up into Illidan's arms and Illidan took flight once more and was off.

Tyrande turned to her mate then, "Do you think this elf Lania is in danger?" she asked Malfurion pinched the bridge of his nose.

"I don't know Tyrande I don't know. I'm not even sure if I can believe this Laira words. she didn't even give us a name of who she thought did it." he said frustrated, he thought maybe she didn't know the elf name, maybe she just knew it was one of her own. He did know one thing why did Illidan bring her here when she could have came here herself.

Illidan quickly got back to the black temple and as he walked into his holding away from everyone, did he place Laira on her feet. "They will either heed your warning or not the choice is theirs" he stated

"Dalah'Surfal " she starts in her own tongue, but stops herself. " you are good, it is their downfall if they do not see it." Illidan swooped her into his arms and allowed her to relax against him, as his lips found hers. She was too good for him, but he didn't care his heart demanded to be seen, and this elf had seen him when no one else did. He had sensed that, all she ever wanted was to feel accepted by her father, but never doing enough. Gently he placed her onto the bed that went unused for so long, peeling her out of her armor with ease.

She was his light, his joy, but most of all his gem. He would be damned to all oblivion if she was taken from him too early. Her caress pulled him out of his thoughts as he gave her wry smile and he heard her chuckling as she leaned up and kissed him. "you are too good for me Laira. I give you this one chance to back out now, if you decide you want to leave, I'll let you, but if you decide to stay no one and I mean no one is to have you, that means your allegiance to the Horde." he claims.

"I was never planning on going back when I arrived here " she said and that made him unravel in her love for him.

Cronos paced his apartment frustrated, he was no longer closer to achieving his goal, to make matters worse his mother was starting to ask questions. He claimed in was nothing, she had left it at that at the beginning, but now he knew that saying it was nothing wasn't going let the subject drop. He was in love with Lania, but at the same time jealous of her, the way she held herself in training, and yet his family line through his mother side was known for their skill in the light. He opened his wardrobe doors that he had placed in his living room and looked into the picture that was of Divinum, Lania and himself. He scoffed Divinum he thought should have never passed the final exam, never held a candle to the abilities of Lania, and yet there he stood to Lania right smiling a friendly smile to her and her returning one back to him.

Cronos wasn't overbearing, he knew he wasn't, and yet Lania didn't want to be around unless she had no choice, but to be stuck with him. Mentor Erons was wrong when he had said Lania would see greatness, she would, but not through her accomplishments, but his. He closed the wardrobe doors and left his apartment, dwelling over what could have happen, and what he wanted happening wasn't doing him any favors. As he left his apartment in to the training field he saw Div standing in the distance talking with Killena, Lania's younger sister if Cronos was correct.

Cronos wanted to ruin their day, but he had other things he needed to do, like getting a hold that Human that he paid to get the gem he had sent him to go get. He also was trying to figure out the item that he had snatched from Ironforge, and what it did. He did know though that gem and the item went together and that was what he was hoping for. He looked at his communicator and it was silent, 'damn come on Human, hurry it up.' he thought as he found a bench and sat down. He wanted recognition he wanted it for his family in the sacrifices that they had made for everyone. He watched as Divinum placed a flower he had bought in Lania's sister hair by her ear, Cronos almost wanted to gag. Just as he was about to get up and leave did his communicator go off signally that the Human wanted to meet and he couldn't help himself, but smirk at his victory.
