Heyow! Ricchan here!
okay, first of all, yeah, REAAALLY late update. I've had problems lately plus I just transferred to my old school two months ago so yeaaah. And I have this thing that bothered me, I mean, it is my first time and all. Yeaaaah, I realized that I like my best best friend and I just confessed to him upon realization. I dont know... when I felt this feeling that I liked him, I confessed to him unconsciously.
He was okay with it, actually. He smiled at me and we just became closer. The problem is...myself. I don't know how to act when he's next to me, how should I talk to him, how should I be when I'm next to him. I mean yeah, it's my first time falling in love cuz I have this feeling that he's the one or something... It affected my writing and I've been depressed lately. usually, things like this SHOULDNT depress me, but it did. Well...I'd really appreciate it if you can given me advice about these FEELINGS as one might say. I just don't know anymore..
...
okay! Sooo, late update! I have a promise this time! Every week, I'll be updating any story (or maybe even post a new one) in 2-5 intervals! So I ma update 2,3,4, or 5. It depends on my schedule. we should be having our exams this week but the studying shit is easy so I'll let myself go for today and tomorrow!
Also, anyone willing to be a (maybe) permanent beta for me? I'll have you read most of my ideas and agree to them, then I'll write and you edit! But... You have to be able to proofread it in a day or two, since readers are waiting ;)
Disclaimer; KnB is not mine and also the Characters!
enjooooy~
Three weeks. Three weeks since Tetsuya forgot me. Three weeks since I got heartbroken. And three weeks since Tetsuya had a breakdown.
All these time, nothing happened, no reported breakdowns of Tetsuya. Except the fact that all his last memories aren't still coming back, at least some memorable ones are remembered without any pain in the head. For these days, all is well. Nothing's more better than peace and prosperity.
I sit in the side as I stare at my dearest Tetsuya slurping up his usual vanilla milkshake. Tomorrow, he can be able to get out of the hospital, but his distance is pretty limited. Dr. Shintarou has clarified that there are no threats to his tumor now that he's pretty relaxed and positive all of the time. That greenhead did always warn us about avoiding the negative, but what's with those random items that he always gives Tetsuya? Is he trying to hit on my Tetsuya?
...
Oh right, those random stuff has something to do from the horoscope lucky items, Oha-Asa was it? Oh well. As long as he doesn't touch my Tetsuya, there won't be any problems involving my scissors.
"Akashi-kun..." I hear Tetsuya call at my side. I turn my head and I found myself face-to-face with the beverage. I raised my eyebrows and give him a questioning look.
"Hm? What is it Tetsuya?" I ask, my lover just frowned and pushed the beverage to my cheek and I flinch slightly at the cold surface. He pouts slightly, "I... I want more."
I frown and give him a tensed stare, "That's enough Tetsuya. You're gonna have brain freeze pretty soon if you keep up with that. And isn't that the largest drink size?"
"It's not enough. Besides, brain freeze happens when you drink it, not after you drink it." He pinpoints casually. I sigh heavily at his smart-ass comment.
"It's the same. The beverage is cold, so it'll give you brain freeze. You shouldn't have anymore."
Tetsuya looks at his milkshake and opens the lid, and studies the contents inside. He puts the lid back and looks at me again, "Then tell them to lessen the ice."
I sigh again at his stubbornness, "No."
Tetsuya's lower lip sticks out into a cute pout and I chuckle. His personality never ceases to amuse me. Its just too much and I can't even imagine myself without Tetsuya. His whole being needs me, and my whole being needs him.
I smile at him, lifting my hand to caress his cheeks. Tetsuya looks at me and leans against my touch in a rather caring way and a pink hue dusted his cheeks. "Tetsuya."
"Hm?" He lifts his own hand and covers my own hand, sharing warmth into his hospital cold body. The IV wires swayed and slithered against the bed by force and gravity, the needles connected and piercing through the nerves at the back of his hand.
"Do... you have plans for tomorrow?" I ask stupidly, obviously knowing that Tetsuya doesn't.
Tetsuya snorted cutely and looked at me with amusement in his eyes, "Of course not. I have nothing to do outside the hospital."
Nothing to do? But how about... "But how about the piano?" I ask with a tilt of my head.
Tetsuya widens his eyes in realization and he gasps silently, "N-Now that I think of it... My hands are itching to play." In consideration of his phrase, his fingers twitched slightly. My hand that caressed his cheeks went down to his twitching ones and gripped it lightly.
"Don't worry. After lunch, tomorrow, we can go and visit your old music room. And if you want, we can duet together."
Those cerulean orbs brightened up and a smile planted itself on his face, pure joy present. He nodded quickly and proceeded to finish his cold sweet beverage with a pink blush permanent in his cheeks. Its really nice to see Tetsuya in a happy state, as if I've accomplished something. Then the reward will be Tetsuya's blinding and adorably cute smile that seemed to sparkle in the nicest way possible.
Much like the Tetsuya that I've met in the music room two months ago, the one that captured my heart and never let me go no matter how bluntly he shows it.
It's like... the incident about him forgetting me never really happened at all. Like it was all just a dream. But it's only a metaphor, it's not even near the word 'reality'.
Though I think it's fine like this.
As long as nothing gets in our way, it's really fine.
"Akashi-kun... A little help here." Kuroko pleaded as they descended among the stairs outside the hospital. Kuroko wheeled himself around, trying to look for a slope that he can slide down into, but finding none since it's all stairs. Akashi stepped lower and lower, a smirk planted on his face.
"But didn't you say that you can handle it yourself? I'll be on my way now, see you at Maji Burger, Tetsuya." The redhead waved lightly and walked further away. Kuroko's usually blunt face slowly turned into a red tomato once he saw Akashi walking away.
"Seijuuro!" The light bluenette shouted out frustratingly and with chagrin, his usually pale face painted with a hue of red.
Akashi stopped and his eyes widened, he slowly turned his head to Tetsuya and stared at him. The name that the light bluenette called sparking something inside of him, a warm feeling.
Akashi smirked and turned back, walking back at Kuroko's direction.q
"Tetsuya."
"..."
"Tetsuya..."
"..."
Akashi sighed and stopped pushing Kuroko's wheelchair. He walked to Kuroko's front and kneeled down, staring at those cerulean orbs, which eventually turned to the side to avoid the heterochromatic gaze. Akashi tilted his head and frowned, using both of his hands to firmly grasp Kuroko's cheeks and turn it against him. He stared at those orbs again as the light bluenette struggled to get away from his grip.
Kuroko gave up after some while and just slumped at his seat, leaning against the hands and visibly pouting. Akashi laughed lightly and patted those pale cheeks.
"Don't be mad Tetsuya, I'm sorry okay?"
Kuroko looked away and frowned, "Just don't do that again Akashi-kun. You know that I hate being left alone."
The redhead nodded and smiled, leaning down to kiss Kuroko's nose and up to his forehead. The light bluenette closed one of his eyes and slightly leaned away from the light peppering kisses, a pink blush dusting in his cheek. Akashi stood up and went back to push the wheelchair which sat Kuroko in it.
Akashi looked at the surroundings and the greens that surrounds them. "Yes yes, I won't do it again. I promise. No need to be so sensitive."
Kuroko, looking at the surroundings too, nodded and turned his head to look at his lover sideways, "I'll never leave you alone too, I promise." With a smile and a caring chuckle he turned back and watched the birds fly with its mates and friends. "Akashi-kun, birds are really free aren't they? They can go wherever they want and they can fly."
Akashi followed Kuroko's line of sight and smiled fondly, "Yeah, they are free. But that doesn't stop them from injuring themselves. One broken wing and then they're trapped forever, waiting to be killed by the predator." He stated, a hint of sadness in his tone.
"You know, you have to think about the positive things more Akashi-kun. Negativity may be dangerous and true, but it won't get you anywhere near happiness, it'll only bring you worry and regret."
"Maybe I've just been traumatized. I've thought of positive in the past that I didn't even think of what would go wrong, and I regretted that."
Kuroko turned back and looked at Akashi again. He twisted his body so that he faced Akashi and held his arms out. With a smile, he said, "Don't worry Akashi-kun. Nothing will go wrong. I promise."
Akashi, who's eyes widened at the declaration, leaned down and hugged Kuroko. Kuroko hugged back tightly, "Even though I've lost my memories about our past and the moment that we met, I can still feel the warmth of it. Even though something went wrong with my memory, look at us now. We're still together right?"
Akashi nodded and buried his face in the crook of Kuroko's neck, snuggling in the warmth and breathing in the light bluenette's vanilla scent.
"I mean, what could go wrong at a time like this? At a time where we're having the best time of our lives?"
"You still have your tumor. And bad things tend to start at the most happiest times." The redhead murmured and hugged him tighter. Kuroko smiled and elevated a hand to brush those red locks and caress them.
"There you go with your negativity again. The best doctors from America will come and save me right? A week from now, my tumor will be permanently gone, and maybe my legs could be cured too. Nothing's impossible Akashi-kun, all we have to do is believe." Kuroko pointed out and pushed Akashi's head back and kissed his forehead. "That'll be fine already, right?"
Akashi nodded and leaned back then capturing Kuroko's lips in a passionate kiss. Tongues twirled and discovered each soft and sweet caverns, covering them with mixed saliva. Akashi took control of the kiss and pushed Kuroko back to the chair.
Kuroko moaned and used a hand to push Akashi's chest. The redhead got the signal and with another peck, he leaned away licking his lips. They both panted with those slightly swollen lips opening and closing with each breath. Their gazes met and Kuroko gulped.
"We can't... Here." The light bluenette mumbled. Akashi staggered forwards and their foreheads bumped against each other, lessening the distance between them. Their noses touching and lips a few inches away from each other, and they can feels their breaths against each other's faces.
"It's... fine if you don't want to continue, if you're uncomfortable enough, we can just-"
"We can do it later. In the music room... I want it too Akashi-kun." Kuroko interrupted embarrasingly and the blush darkened.
Akashi tried to repeat the words in his head, even if he knew what it meant, he couldn't believe it, "Tetsuya? What do you mean?"
Kuroko used both of his hands to snake up to Akashi's shoulder and rested his arms on it. He moved forward until his lips touched Akashi's ears, breathing in a small moan, "Like what those videos that I've curiously watched as a child. In which they say; I want you to take me hard, Seijuuro."
Akashi's ears turned red and he questioned himself, 'how the hell did Tetsuya's attitude suddenly change like that in a matter of seconds?!'. All he could think about is the light bluenette's words and his imagination didn't fail him in imagining Kuroko's pale and smooth body writhing, gasping, arching and moaning below him as he plunges his own member in that sweet, hot cavern, in search for that spot where it makes his Tetsuya scream in ecstasy.
...
...Seriously, he will be the death of his dearest Tetsuya.
Kuroko stared at the grand piano that stood in the middle of the music room, his piano. His eyes are wide and looked as if it's in a daze, memories coming back to him of his childhood, one by one. Like a movie clip, it plays and plays and plays.
Those perfect black and white keys that mesmerized him, and the note in each key. The smooth tone and sound that it makes when you press one, it's like it has been so long, yet still in his memory. The songs that he's ever played, Etudes, Sonata Op. 106, Canon in C, The Phantom of The Opera, heck, even Chopsticks. But... River Flows in You?
For some reason, that song sounded familiar, but his mind couldn't process on what it sounds like. The melody, the bass, the accompaniment, the tempo. Just what was it again?
He looked at his side to see Akashi standing up from his seat and disposing off his mess from the fast food. The redhead returned the look and silently asked if he wants to play. Kuroko nodded and Akashi replied with a smile. He went behind Kuroko and pushed the wheelchair near the leather seat.
Akashi placed his hands below Kuroko's arms and lifted him up slightly, helping the light bluenette stand up and transfer to the leather seat of the piano. Kuroko's legs were numb from the blockage of the nerves due to the tumor and he limped slightly, but is lessened with Akashi's help.
And with a bump, Kuroko sat in the chair and lifted his hands immediately, feeling the clean piano keys with his fingers. Akashi sat next to him and Kuroko looked sideways, smiling a bit, "You cleaned it."
Akashi beamed up and huffed in pride, "Of course. Who else will?"
Kuroko looked down and let the sight of the piano keys burn in his mind, memorizing every single detail. Unforgotten childhood memories filled his mind for a while as he admired each detail, shape, and color. He missed seeing as much as he missed his piano.
The light bluenette sighed in satisfaction and smiled, finally pressing down a white key. The sound echoed at the clothed and wooden walls of the music room, his pale ears capturing the smooth key of E. Oh how he missed this, especially after being held captive by the hospital for almost a month.
Yes, it may seem like he's overreacting, but that's life. And in his own metaphorical way, he thinks that hospital rooms are equivalent to jail cells.
A glaze of wetness suddenly covered his eye, threatening to fall in one blink. Kuroko closed his eyes and at the same time, wiped the tears off his face. Akashi seemed to notice this,
"Tetsuya, are you all right?" Those heterochromatic eyes are filled with worry. Kuroko shook his head and smiled in reassurance. "I'm fine, really. A speck of dust just got into my eyes."
'Really now, a speck of dust he says.' The redhead sighed and turned back to the crippled boy, "So, would you like me to play the song that I've mentioned?" Kuroko nodded intently.
"River flows in you, was it?"
Akashi just smiled and positioned his fingers, "Indeed." He pressed softly.
The first tempo gave the light bluenette a confused demeanor, it was quite questionable. At the second tempo, it repeated again, and tha gave more question marks to him. His pale lips opened to ask something, but not quite sure what to ask, but the third tempo seemed to catch him off guard. The change from slow to fast made him stop, stare, and just listen. After the fast melody, he felt something, then it repeated, but with more added notes to make it sound faster.
The melody itself was beautiful, though it may sound really odd at first, it's still a nice composition. Quite extraordinary, really.
He felt allured, captured, bound by that music. It felt addicting, like a drug, but of course, it's not a bad addiction. I mean, everyone is addicted to music right?
The ascending and descending notes gave his heart an uncomfortable tug, it sounded familiar.
Kuroko's eyes widened once Akashi played the chorus. His cerulean orbs focused on the choreographed fingers, his ears heard the hit notes, and his mind looked fuzzy and confused. He questioned himself, he wanted to know, he wanted to know everything. Why does it feel so familiar? Why is it affecting me? Why does it hurt so much?
A drop of tear cascaded down his pale cheeks and his vision blurred. It didn't surprise him though, rather, it made him want to cry much more. The feeling that you've been in an emotional shell for too long and you can't seem to break out, you can't seem to move on.
It hurts.
His reverie was interrupted once the melodic instrument stopped playing and a hand stroked his cheek. He looked up and saw Akashi's heterochromatic gaze worryingly at him; truth to be told, he just wanted to hug that redhead as much as he wanted to cry.
It feels nice, to be comforted by someone close to you.
"Tetsuya... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have played." He felt the hand in his cheek tremble and tense. Kuroko almost laughed at the fact that Akashi's more affected than him in fact, it's nothing to laugh about.
Kuroko smiles at him instead, lifting a pale hand to cover more bigger ones, "It's fine Akashi-kun. I think I just remembered something."
Those different colored orbs lightened up, "What did you remember?" Akashi asked, hoping that it was something important.
Wait.
What did he remember? Kuroko forgot. The light bluenette thought hard, but...
"I... don't know. I think I forgot." Kuroko stated with a shake of his head.
"Tetsuy-"
"My head hurts. Can you just... please, keep playing." Kuroko mumbled, pain evident in his voice. Akashi hesitated at first, but then the pleading look that the cerulean boy gave out made him reconsider.
His fingers went above the keys again and he continued on, bringing the light bluenette into a trance again. The pain was still there, but the fluffy and warm feeling overpowered it.
The fact that Akashi is playing for him just makes the cerulean boy blush from happiness.
Akashi half smiled, making Kuroko blush even more. Tears still welled up on those cerulean orbs, painting them with bittersweet joy and hidden sadness. The thought of Kuroko crying made Akashi want to cry too; but the prideful little mogul he is, well, he didn't.
"Are you sure that you're okay, Tetsuya?" The redhead pianist asked as he started playing the song more slowly and quietly as it should be.
Kuroko hummed in reply, whining a little bit at the volume. Akashi smirked and turned up his playings, making his cerulean partner slump in music ecstasy.
The chorus repeated again; but for some reason, very blurry and incomplete pieces of memories flipped in his mind like a broken and old movie roll. His mind thought of sad memories; his parents, Kenji-san, loneliness, the piano, fear, River Flows in You, Akashi-kun.
Weird thing is, it didn't hurt. Not one bit.
But it did feel strange. It felt...relieving to him. His cerulean orbs lifted to stare at Akashi's concentrated but relaxed face, you can see that the redhead was lost in his own world too. It's weird what music can do to us, really.
The fast part made his chest feel light, so he elevated his hand to stroke one side of the pale cheekbones. Kuroko relaxed at the light stroking of his own hand, the strange light feeling still there. Intense emotions, yes, that's the perfect way of saying it.
As the chorus ended, the slow ending made those intense feelings slowly die down, replacing it with nothingness. As in, nothing at all; no feelings, no memories, no images, nothing.
"Tetsuya?!"
Kuroko hadn't even noticed himself limply falling down forward, in Akashi's arms. "Eh?" He muttered in reply when he felt arms wrap around him. The light bluenette's eyes were half lidded and his voice was wavering slightly.
"Damn... You said that you were okay!" Akashi scolded him in whispers, not really wanting to hear his own voice.
Kuroko shook his head, "I'm just... sleepy, Akashi-kun." His pale lips opened slightly to mutter those words with a complaining tone in it.
The redhead's expression was still of worry and held his bluenette a little more tightly. "Then sleep, my dear little Tetsuya."
"I don't want to. Just...keep playing." He whined softly and Akashi couldn't help but to sigh and caress Kuroko's hair, making the bluenette's eyes blink once, then twice; nevertheless, it still closed out of drowsiness and soft breaths came out.
Akashi smiled, enjoying the sight of a fragile Kuroko in his arms. He placed his arms below the bluenette's knees and lifted him up, carrying him to the room. Kuroko mumbled a bit and his eyebrows narrowed; but for a while, it was replaced by a peaceful expression again.
With a soft bump, Kuroko is placed into the bed and tucked in. He was about to close the door when a vibrating object suddenly went off in his pocket. He removed the object and opened it, swiping his finger on the passcode and answering the call.
"Takeda?"
"Ah! Akashi-san! Kuroko-san is missing..! My goodne-"
"Don't worry, Tetsuya is here with me, sleeping. We checked out for three days to get some fresh air and don't worry, I've bought the medication needed. You can relax and work peacefully now."
"Oh! My god, I'm glad to hear that! Please take care of Kuroko-san. I have work in five minutes so... I have to go."
"It's okay Takeda, I'll take care of him. You know me."
"Haha, yes of course. Well, I'll be calling back later. Ja!"
"Ja."
Akashi pocketed the phone, taking in a deep breath and releasing it slowly. He walked directing to the music room, thinking that he should just sleep on one of the audience sofas.
He sat down on one and eyed the grand piano. It's been a while since he went back home...
But he should be with Tetsuya.
Tetsuya, he was crying a while ago. The way that those cerulean orbs were glazed with symbols of sadness and sorrow...
Makes me want to comfort him.
I want to see his happy faces, not sad faces.
But I have to admit, the way that those tears wet his cheeks. The way that his eyes were half-lidded and that red nose as he hiccups softly... It makes me want to see more of his expressions. Like his peaceful expression.
...
Well fuck that, he's definitely sleeping next to Tetsuya.
