Chapter 11: Village Recovery/Naruto's Secrets

-Konoha Kage Tower, 1 Week after the Invasion-

Sitting in his chair whilst looking out his window, Sarutobi Hiruzen looked upon his village with no small amount of pride and relief. Having only been invaded only seven days ago he was happy to see that not only did the villages infrastructure survive with only a small fraction of major damage but casualties were in the dozens instead of hundreds like his former student had aimed for.

Another happy note to add to the success of his villages defense was the surrender of Suna's forces mid-battle. This came with the helpful bit of info in revealing that they only lost a much smaller collection of ninja whereas Oto lost somewhere around half.

This bit of news was in no small part thanks to the efforts of one Uzumaki Naruto after he defeated and talked down Suna's own Jinchuuriki: Sabaku no Gaara.

When news spread of Gaara's defeat and the later surrender alongside his siblings nearly all the active Suna-Nins laid down their arms and allowed themselves to be captured temporarily before being released back to their home village.

Then with the near failed escape of his traitor's former pupil the entire invasion ended, with his ninja capturing and killing off those from Oto that failed to follow their master's trail.

"However for all the failures of his invasion from a darker technical standpoint he was unfortunately going to get at least one thing he wanted from it." thought the Sandaime Hokage as he rested his right hand on his stomach once again.

Before his mind drifted to more depressing thoughts he turned to see the arrival of his only active and loyal student left...and once again he chose to enter through his window.

Giving Jiraiya an annoyed glare he said, "How many times have I told you to enter through my door? Wait don't answer that."

Getting a manly smirk on his face, at least in his mind, Jiraiya said, "Sorry sensei (while looking not the least bit sorry) I got the files you wanted from Ibiki and Anko on those captured during the invasion."

Handing over the reports to his aged sensei Jiraiya continued, "I've also began looking over the deceased Kazekage's youngest's seal and to be honest I'm not sure at all what he was thinking with the way it was designed."

Seeing the aggravated look on his student's face the Sandaime could only begin to guess on what he found in regards to Gaara's seal.

Deciding to put that aside for the time being he asked his perverted student another important matter, "Well I'll leave you to that Jiraiya-kun, how goes your search for your teammate?"

At the mention of his sensei's other requested mission Jiraiya's face took a more serious look, "So far I've been able to narrow it down to the more northern sector of Hi no Kuni. With any luck I'll know of her location at worst by the end of next week."

Nodding at his assessment he turned to another stack of reports on his desk before looking to the Toad Sage again, "Since nearly everything is be handled to the most part as of yesterday the various councils and myself we'll be having an assessment over all the required matters in regards to both the exams and invasion. I'll need you present for your actions in both Naruto-kun's training and aid during the exams."

With a sign Jiraiya nodded and moved to exit the office to get another check in on his spy network before the coming meeting. As he moved to jump out the window he heard his sensei speak once more, "By the way Jiraiya, have you found out anything about Orochimaru's spy Kabuto?"

Shaking his head he replied, "Nothing to big yet. Though I believe I may have something, but I won't be to sure until I've checked with a few more sources first."

Before he headed out Jiraiya left with a one last comment, "How much longer you think you have sensei?"

Not looking at him he replied, "Hopefully long enough." As he stated this he once again rested his hand on his stomach.

Knowing a dismissal when he heard one Jiraiya hopped off to check on his network as well as his most recent apprentice. Watching his white-haired student leave the near seventy year old man could only sign as he looked at his abdominal region knowing of what lay onto of it.

His eyes once again drifting to the top most report on those that participated in the exam finals he couldn't stop the weary smile growing on his face, "At least I can rest easy knowing that when my time finally comes I'll be leaving this village in very capable hands." Moving his hand from his stomach the Sandaime's smile only brightened at the smiling whiskered face on the picture of the file he had reviewed most recently.

"Good hands indeed."

-Akimichi Clan's Bar-B-Que Restaurant: Ichiban Sutēkihausu(Steakhouse)(1)-

We currently find our know black garbed hero sitting among his fellow rookie Genin and other assorted allies having a brief break from helping around Konoha with its reconstruction after the Suna-Oto Invasion as it's now called.

Alongside our hero is Teams 8, 9, 10, and Sakura with his other 'teammate' Uchiha Sasuke now off somewhere brooding, at least Naruto is guessing about what he maybe doing at this moment in time.

However the titled Rookie 12, a titled given to them by various civilians, Chuunin, and Jounin, are also joined by the Yuki Momochi Haku and as made official during the aforementioned invasion Genin ranked Tsuchi Kin. Both girls having joined the rookies via invite by Naruto.

Although their invite was more of a requirement in Haku's case being Naruto personal nurse. This being necessary because of Naruto most recent injure, his heavily burned arms. As it turns out the overuse of his newest gauntlet has not only caused bad scarring from his creation, but the constant use of his right's fire power has badly burned his right arm.

Said arms are now bandaged from top to bottom and has required Naruto assistance from others for more delicate procedures. In this case the need for someone to actually feed him since he can't properly handle chopsticks at this moment in time.

So here we are as Naruto Defeater of the Shukaku is being fed his lunch, by Haku...and Kin.

"Okay Naruto-kun say ahhh." said Haku as she held up a clump of rise and beef for her 'friend'.

With a deadpanned expression on his face all the blonde Uzumaki could do is say, "Ahhh" and eat the food held out for him as the rest of his graduate class and comrades watched on.

Of course no one could stay quiet for long in such a situation so someone spoke up, "Oh what the hell man, how come you get all the hot girls!?" was the shout of one Inuzuka Kiba.

At his choice of words all eyes went from Haku and Naruto to Kiba, before someone else decided to speak up, "He does have a point Naruto. Since when did you get so popular?" where the words of Yamanaka Ino.

Speaking up before anyone else got any ideas to cut him off Naruto replied, "Well unlike all of you guys both Kin and Haku have the fact of both not living in Konoha and having grown up in harsher environments than either you or Sakura."

"And what's that suppose to mean?!" shouted Ino and Sakura.

"He means unlike you two, we haven't been diluted in this odd belief that Uchiha Sasuke is the most handsome and cool shinobi in the entire world." stated Kin.

Haku then followed up with, "That and unlike you two we have seen the darker aspects of the ninja world."

Before either kunoichi could try to rebuke either girl's statements a certain Aburame spoke up, "They are right you know." Seeing all eyes now on himself Shino continued, "Unlike you Sakura, your from a civilian family so your knowledge of ninja life is from the academy and what you learn from the library. As for you Ino, while you maybe from a well know ninja clan your take most of your training for granted and spent more time gossiping and chasing Sasuke."

Seeing the conversation take a soon to be very troublesome turn Shikamaru brought up something else that had bothered the lazy genius. Turning to Naruto, Shikamaru said, "Naruto there's something I've meant to ask you. Where did you learn those odd taijutsu moves you used in the Prelims against Kiba and during the Finals against Neji and Sasuke? We never were taught anything like that in the academy."

"Hey he's right. I don't remember Kakashi teaching use anything like those moves either." stated Sakura.

Glaring at Sakura, Naruto replied, "Well for one Kakashi hasn't taught use practically anything Sakura and you're right I neither learned those moves from the academy or Kakashi."

Getting the attention of everyone now Kin said, "Then where'd you learn those techniques from Naruto-kun?"

Smirking a little Naruto replied, "Not where but whom." Seeing them all looking at him Naruto began his story.

-Flashback, Konoha, Naruto age: 7-

"AND STAY OUT!" was the shout heard from all the way to the village gates as a young Naruto is shown walking out of his assigned classroom in Konoha's Ninja Academy.

Slamming the door closed as he turns away anger the young Uzumaki stomps off.

Those that were nearby the academy to hear the shouting from within watched as the small Jinchuuriki stomped out mumbling several expletives and various other words a child his age should normally not know.

Choosing to ignore him and go about their own businesses everyone slowly returned to their current matters before the loud disruption. One aspiring Genin however continued to curse and swear under his breath as he moved off to the village training fields to find some poor training stump to work his frustrations off on.

As he marched onward to the nearest field he ended up doing what anyone in his shoes would do, run into someone since he was to busy glaring at the ground.

"OW!" shouted the blonde 7-year-old. Rubbing his know sore rear and head, he was taken from his thoughts of annoyance and pain at the sound of a mature toned voice, "Hey you okay kid?"

Looking up from his spot on the ground Naruto saw a young man who looked to be in his early twenties. He had a thick black beard and mustache combo that added to his shoulder length black hair. Said hair was noticeably curly but not enough to keep gravity from pulling it downwards. He saw the reason for his now sore head was caused from the man's tough looking metal chestpiece, alongside that he was wearing thick fur boots, a fur-lined shorts, metal bracers, on top of his head rested a horn metal helmet of a design Naruto has never seen before, and on his back a long fur cape. To finish his warrior like look the man had a large metal circular shield and giant battle-ax resting on his back.(2)

Shaking his head a little the young boy replied intelligently, "What?"

Chuckling at the blonde's question he repeated, "I asked if you where okay kid."

Blushing a little at embarrassment Naruto just replied lowly, "Yeah."

Nodding at that he reached down and grabbed the child by the back of his shirt, while ignoring the short "Hey!" coming from him, he set the boy back on his feet and after seeing he was fine began to make his way back to his original destination...only to just realize he had no idea where to go in this village for supplies.

The unnamed man then turned back to see the boy he knocked over brushing the dirt from his shorts before beginning to walk off again, deciding it wouldn't hurt the man said, "Hey kid shouldn't you be in school or with your parents?"

Looking back at the large man that he accidentally ran into Naruto replied, "Yeah...well sort of. And no...I don't have any parents."

Wincing at little at the second statement he quickly changed subjects, "What do you mean by 'sort of'?"

"Oh I was kind of kick-out of class actually." said the blonde while scratching the back of his head in slight embarrassment.

At the boy's words the man raised an eyebrow, "To my knowledge even though you were kicked from your class that doesn't mean you leave the school."

Looking down at his feet Naruto said, "Yeah but no one else will teach me what we learned today if I go to ask later. This lesson was especially important and I didn't even do anything really to deserve getting kicked from class."

Being confused know at the boy's plait the man said, "What lesson are you missing then?"

Slightly surprised at the man's continued conversation with him and questioning the blonde Uzumaki figured it wouldn't hurt to tell him, "Today was our first lessons in taijutsu."

Now realizing the boy was a ninja-in-training and hearing of the class he was missing the man could only smile widely at his new-found luck, "Well then boy today's your very lucky day, I happen to be a practitioner of a very old and unique martial arts. And if your willing to give me a quick hand with some errands I need done I'll personally teach you some of my techniques."

Eyes widening at the large man's words Naruto could only stare in shock at his fortune of coming across someone willing to teach him.

Seeing the boy's slight stunned state the man then said, "Well kid what do yea say? You in or what?"

Briefly pinching himself to make sure he isn't dreaming Naruto quickly replied, "Sure!"

Smirking down at his new-found disciple the man placed his hand upon the boy's shoulder and lead him off to one of the open ninja training fields he came across during his earlier search through the village.

Looking briefly at the man Naruto said, "Oh by the way I'm Naruto." Said the blonde deciding to be friendly with his new, if only temporary, sensei.

"Naruto, not a bad name. You can call me Gōda(3)." replied the now named man.

Smiling at his sensei Naruto could only imagine the types of things the mysterious man would teach him.

-End Flashback-

"From there he taught me several moves that I used against Kiba, Neji, Sasuke, and Gaara. I also plan to merge more soon after I've finished perfecting them. He told me many are very dangerous to use, especially to the user themselves if not properly honed and trained in." finished Naruto.

All was silent among the rookies...for about three seconds. "YOSH, NARUTO-KUN YOUR FLAMES OF YOUTH MUST BURN SO BRIGHTLY TO LEARN SUCH A UNIQUE AND DIVERSE STYLE!"

I don't think I have to tell you who shouted that do I.

Before the enthusiastic Green Beast could continue he was quickly quieted via slap to the back of the head by his female teammate. As everyone took a moment to recover from Lee's shouting and think over Naruto's story, Tenten dawned a look of realization.

"You know for all the time we hung-out during the wait for the Exam Finals, you never told me how your match with Kiba went Naruto." stated Konoha's Weapon Mistress.

"B-b-b-b-ut wai-it...weren't you awa-a-a-a-a-ake by then Tenten-s-s-s-s-s-san?" stuttered out the Hyuuga Heiress. Looking up from his plate Neji entered the conversation, "Actually Gai-sensei felt she required plenty of sleep to heal so he gave her sleeping pills to rest and recuperate from her battle. She in fact only saw, at best, up to the part where you tricked Kiba to knock-out his canine partner and nothing more."

Seeing Tenten's inquiry and Kiba's silent pleas to not answer, Naruto of course did the proper thing, and told Tenten of how he defeated Kiba. Embarrassment and all.

-Flashback: Naruto's Prelim fight with Kiba-

AN-It's come to my attention that with Naruto's 'gaseous accident' that lead to his win over Kiba in the canon Prelims, him getting such female attention does not fully make sense, so here's my answer to that matter!

Naruto was not in a good way at this moment in time. Not only was his chakra screwed up by whatever that creepy tongued snake bastard did to him in the forest, but he was also suffering from a small sprained ankle gained from a certain Inuzuka's mutt ramming into him.

Now with his back quite literally against the wall, not to mention he's was beginning to run out of ideas. And while he may have removed Kiba's dog from the equation, said dog Akamaru laying several feet away from the knock-out blow Kiba gave him earlier (if by accident), he was still in no position to really fight back.

A fact Kiba was all to eager to point out, "HA! There's no running now dobe. You may have tricked me into attacking Akamaru, but he still got you quickly enough to make dealing with you on my own easy. Why don't you just surrender and save yourself the trouble of me embarrassing you anymore and just give up already?"

Ignoring Kiba's taunting Naruto slowly tried to get himself back on his own two feet, only to gasp in slight pain and fall back against the wall trying to keep himself from sitting down or putting more weight on his injured ankle.

"See you can't even properly stand anymore! What good is it if you can't stand? I'll tell you what...NOTHING! Just like you'll be nothing when compared to me!" boasted the Inuzuka.

At hearing Kiba's harsh words all our poor blonde could do is shake slightly in rage, and trying once again to stand up. Sadly he once again couldn't stand the shock of pain lancing up his leg and fell against the wall.

Something Kiba pointed out, again, "Oh come on, are you still trying to get up? Why not just stop your not gonna beat me, never could and never will!"

Finally having enough Naruto just looked at Kiba in the eyes and calmly raised his right hand...and flipped the boastful Inuzuka the 'bird'.

Now as anyone in Konoha would tell you one of the Inuzuka's familial shared traits is their animalism mindsets. Now with Kiba being both young, brash, and a bit egotistical didn't take to being mocked to well especially after being tricked by the blonde earlier into striking his own partner.

So at seeing Naruto's 'salute' to him, he of course didn't like the fact he was being shown disrespect from someone he'd call a Beta to his Alpha and ran at him to finish him off and claim is victory.

Unfortunately for Kiba his pride and foolishness lead to him forgetting a very important fact his kaa-san taught him some time ago, 'A cornered animal is a very dangerous animal' and that was no more true than now. Especially if said cornered 'animal' happens to be a fox.

For as Kiba had mocked him and stroking his own ego, Naruto had in fact been slowly setting up a special trap just for Kiba and now was the time to spring it!

So as our dear foolish Inuzuka charged the 'cornered fox', said 'fox' unleashed his trap. Just as he got within range to strike Kiba shouted out, "If you won't just give up on your own, then I'll just make you !"

Naruto however had his own plans and they didn't involve losing today, "Your right, just give it up, at telling me to give up!" and at his words he stepped down with his right heel, as a distinctive *crushing* noise was heard.

And at that very movement a cloud of green tinted smoke billowed out from under Naruto's foot covering over both combatants. For a few seconds nothing happened, and then soon enough from out of the cloud Kiba came gasping and crying while holding his nose and flailing in pain!

Slowly limping towards his fallen opponent, whilst wearing an odd looking handkerchief, one Uzumaki Naruto said, "How do you like my Gas Bomb kibbles. I made it especially for when I pranked your clan in the past or when any Inuzuka were sent to capture me after some of my pranks. I came across one I had leftover from back then and decided to hold on to it in case I might need it in the exams, and apparently it was the smart thing. Something you and everyone else thinks I can never be, guess all of you were wrong huh."

Kiba could do no more than roll on the ground in pain as he had sadly not only inhaled a large amount of the gas through his mouth but also took a substantial amount up his nostrils as well. His pain made more noticeable with his eyes tearing up from the harsh smell.

As Naruto finally reached Kiba in his prone position, or as prone as he could be while squirming around on the floor in pain, Naruto quickly grabbed Kiba's left arm and placed it within his legs and pulled in a way that took Kiba's arm backwards whilst stretching his arm in a way it's isn't meant to go. He then swiftly placed both his hands together over the Inuzuka's face while applying them pressure over the nose area.(4)

"Kiba unless you give up now I'll pull even harder and trust me this can get a whole hell of a lot worse." stated Naruto as he continued to pull Kiba's left arm and face even further back.

Soon Kiba could stand it no more and start yelling out, "I give, I give!" while tapping at the floor in a sign of submission. At hearing his words Naruto released the hold he had him in and stepped away as he heard Hayate called out, "Shousa Uzumaki Naruto!"

At the proctor's call the medics walked in to the arena to take Kiba away to recover while Naruto slowly made his way up to the stands all the while smirking at finally beating Kiba and proving just how much stronger and smarter he's becoming.(5)

-End Flashback-

"AHAHAHAHAHAHA! I can't believe you got beat basically by your own nose!" laughed Tenten.

Embarrassed and quite mad Kiba replied, "It's not that funny!"

Unfortunately all those around the table thought otherwise as Naruto, Choji, Ino, Kin and Tenten laughed out loud at the Inuzuka while Hinata, Neji, Shino, Shikamaru, Sakura, Haku, and Lee tried and failed at hiding their own laughter.

Seeing that no one was gonna defend him, even Akamaru who just shook his head, decided to save face and be quiet.

As everyone calmed down after poking fun at Kiba's cost, Kin took the opportunity to get Naruto's attention back on her by trying to feed him some more with Haku distracted. However as she turned to present Naruto with more of his fried rice she discovered someone other than Haku beat her to the proverbial punch.

"Come on Naruto-kun, open up. Can't have you all beat up for to long, since I want my rematch asap." were the words of the Nibi Jinchuuriki Nii Yugito.

Blushing at having another beautiful girl feeding him, and knowing he's in no place to argue really, signed and opened his mouth to allow Yugito to feed him.

Of course this action gained varied reactions among those present. Like before Kiba and most of the other guys looked on with envy at another pretty girl giving attention to the academy's former dead last. Ino and Hinata looked at if with differing versions of jealously, in Ino's case at not having a guy (preferably Sasuke) showing her such signs of affection and Hinata for it being someone other than herself aiding Naruto with his food.

Others like Sakura could only look at the Yugito's attention to Naruto with both annoyance and jealously of her own, the annoyance at all the attention the girl's getting from the boys and jealously at Naruto accepting their help without showing any negative signs like he's shown towards her as of recent.

Then there where those like Lee, Neji, and Shino that felt envious of Naruto's apparent ease at getting the affected attention from the three kunoichi whilst finally Tenten was showing signs of anger and a small sense of her own jealousy at her growing crushes lack of interest in her over the other three girls around him.

Before any of the Rookie 12 that where present could mention anything else the short silence was broken by the more recent additions to Konoha's ninja forces, "What the hell do you think your doing?!" shouted both Haku and Kin.

At hearing the other say the same thing as the other they turned to glare at their opposing copier, only to return to glaring at Yugito when she decidedly ignored them to continue feeding Naruto.

However she soon felt the growing anger from the other two girls, it was so palpable even the other rookies and Yugito's own teammates could practically taste Haku and Kin's rage.

Deciding to answer them, Yugito said, "I'm feeding Naruto-kun, what's it look like I'm doing?" While her answer didn't calm either girl, neither did her blatant ignoring of them whilst still feeding Naruto.

Soon the atmosphere was getting so hostile that nearly everyone present was just waiting for the smallest thing to set off the proverbial volcano waiting to blow.

Thankfully for Naruto at least, who while blushing at the attention knew he was standing right on top of a primed powder keg as it were, was interrupted by an arriving ANBU.

Completely ignorant of the minefield she stepped into the ANBU kunoichi turned to Naruto and spoke, "Uzumaki Naruto, your presences is requested by the Hokage in his office. I've been sent to take you to him."

At her words Naruto slowly extracted himself from between the three Genin kunoichi while approaching the neko masked ninja. Before she could whisk him away Naruto said, "I see you guys later."

As Naruto was shunshin away by the ANBU, all three girls realized the target of their affection was gone. Only to remember almost right after seeing him leave that their rivals for his attention was still there.

After they continued to glare at each other in silence for what felt like hours, the three slowly rose from their respective seats. Kin quietly then said, "Since Naruto-kun is now not here why not we just settle this the old fashion way, huh?"

At Kin's challenge both Haku and Yugito then replied simultaneously, "Yes." With that the three pissed kunoichi disappeared in their respective elemental shunshin to the nearest training ground to settle their little rivalry.

-Konoha Council Chambers, 2 Hours Ago-

Sarutobi and Jiraiya walked in a slow regulated pace on their way to the council room. Both knowing that the coming discussions will bring about more than a few headaches and shouting matches, though in the end ever since the day after the Kyuubi Attack, there's yet to be a simple and calm council meeting.

Nodding at his two ANBU agents guarding the door, both respective ninja open said doors for their leader and his former student to hear the large amount of noise being produced from nearly all the members of the village council.

Looking around the table Hiruzen was pleased to see that he was the last to arrive. To his left going clockwise was the clan heads, starting with the Nara Head Shikaku, from there it went: Yamanaka Inoichi, Akimichi Choza, Inuzuka Tsume, Hyuuga Hiashi, Aburame Shibi, the currently empty Sarutobi Clan seat (being as the Hokage himself is Head of his clan) and the (currently empty) Uchiha Clan Head seat.

Right after the Uchiha seat was the Advisory Council which was headed by Sarutobi's former teammates: Utatane Koharu, Mitokado Homura, and Shimura Danzo. All three being around the same age as Hiruzen and having survived all three Ninja Wars were now using their several decade long careers to offer experience and advisory for the younger generation. At least that is what they keeping telling Sarutobi every time he suggests they retire and hand over their respective positions.

After them was the civilian council which consisted of a small number of merchants, company CEOs, and major suppliers. All of these said branches help run the basic day-to-day needs of the villagers in Konoha. Sadly with the aid of Danzo and the death of the 4th Hokage more than the original council members had joined, then when they were first brought on by the 2nd Hokage.

But that's not here or there and now most of the council members were to busy discussing (note: shouting) over matters about Suna and it's betrayal.

However thankfully for those not concerned with the matter at this time, in this case the Clan heads, everyone quieted down with the entrance of the Hokage and Jiraiya. After the Sandaime took his seat at the head of the long table with, Jiraiya taking a standing position behind his sensei, he decided to start the meeting.

"Now then if you're all done we can begin this council meeting. Now, first things first how are the repairs concerning the village at the present time?" asked the Sandaime.

At his question Koharu stood up and spoke, "As of this morning the village's reconstruction has gone smoothly. Thanks to Team 7's mission to Nami no Kuni nearly six months ago we've been able to get some extra aid from both the country's skilled construction workers but also said aid at reduced prices."

Nodding at her assessment Sarutobi turned to Shikaku and asked grimly, "How are we in regards to our wounded and deceased?"

Looking up from his reports Shikamaru's dad replied, "Those that died in the invasion have been collected and all have been properly identified and left in the morgue till a time when we can go about the necessary burials. The rest that have been injured have been taken care of and I'm relieved to say very few have passed on after being wounded in the attack."

At the slightly good news Hiruzen nodded and then turned to Jiraiya, "How are things in regards to Sabaku no Gaara and his siblings?"

Speaking up so the whole room could hear him the Gama Sannin said, "I've done what I can for the gaki's seal, it seems to have not been nearly powerful enough to safely restrain the Ichibi, but thankfully it seems both he and the Bijuu have settled some since their defeat by Naruto's hands. He currently is sleeping while under the watch of his siblings and Tenzo, so there's no real worries if the kid will go nuts from Shukaku messing with his head at this time."

"We should take this chance to gain another valuble tool for the village and kill the boy for his part in the invasion, and reseal the Shukaku into a new container." where the words of Danzo.

"Not a chance, I just spent nearly three days straight working on the kid's seal. I'm not letting that work go to waste because you want your precious Jinchuuriki Weapon." Stated Jiraiya.

Banging his small gavel on the table so as to stop anyone from adding their own input, Sarutobi spoke up, "As it stands Gaara is still a registered Suna shinobi, Jinchuuriki, and most importantly the late Kazekage's son. Those reasons alone mean he is far to important and known to be killed. Besides at this moment in time I have been discussing the surrender terms with both of the boy's older siblings and his sensei Baki. Said sensei is also a part of Suna's council and one of their most high ranked shinobi. It's with their aid I wish to make a more effective and helpful alliance between use."

At his words the Hokage quickly glared towards Danzo and his former teammates, knowing all three have sought to use of Suna breaking their alliance to take over Kaze no Kuni or at least remove Suna from the map whilst seizing all their secrets and resources for themselves. Thankfully neither countries' Daimyou agreed to such ideas and have allowed both ninja villages to work out a new alliance treaty along side the surrender papers from the invasion.

Turning towards those in the civilian council Hiruzen they said, "Now is there anything else concerning the village that needs going over."

One of the CEOs of one of the larger companies in Konoha rose to up at the Hokage's question and began to go over necessary costs for supplies and needed materials for the reconstruction and possible changes to some facilities in Konoha.

After around an hour of said matters being discussed and debated on, Sarutobi brought up the last two matters of business needed to be gone over before the council could adjourn.

"Now as many of you know I have two last matters to discuss before we can end this meeting. The first is the promotions from this years Chuunin Exams. The first will be Hyuuga Neji of Team Gai. What were the assessments on him by the assigned Chuunin Shibi-san and Shikaku-san?"

Grabbing the first file in front of him said Nara Head replied, "Nearly all our judges declared his skills in both the use of his clan's bloodline and personal taijutsu style to be far above Genin level. Most consider it as best Mid-Chuunin overall. Also many thought his use of mental warfare was good, though most considered his use of it against not only his own cousin and fellow Konoha ninja was overly harsh and made them question his overall loyalty to the village as a whole."

Turning things over to his partner Shibi picked up with, "Besides that he has shown spectacular talent in the leader role of his team and handled the situations brought upon them in the earlier stages good. However it's also shown he has a bit of a superiority complex and doesn't listen to those of the same rank or beneath his own."

Nodding at the assessments Hiruzen then turned to Hiashi and asked, "Do you have anything to add-on the matter of your nephew Hiashi-san?"

Taking a brief look at his brother's only child's report he turned to the Hokage and then replied, "Nothing much. Though I feel the need to state that while if he isn't given a promotion from the exams I'd at least like for you to keep a possible delayed on for later on. My reasoning is on account of my personal belief of Neji growing out of his more negative traits soon."

Raising an eyebrow at Hiashi suggestion he asked, "For what reason and assumption do you have on young Neji-kun's sudden change of heart?"

"After his defeat at the hands of Uzumaki Naruto in the First Round of the Finals I decided to show to Neji the truth of what happened on the night of Hinata's attempted kidnapping and the real reasoning behind his father's death. After told him the unvarnished truth he has slowly become more open and personally apologised to both of his cousin's for his earlier behavior and actions. So I do think given a little more time Neji will become far better with his people skills to match his shinobi skills."

Smiling at Hiashi's small speech the Sandaime replied, "Very well then, if no one has anything wrong with Hiashi-san's request Hyuuga Neji while not being promoted at this time will be placed on the shelf for a possible future promotion with his attitude and personal actions improve."

All present nodded at the Hokage's decision and agreed to the matter on Neji's presentation in the exams. With that out-of-the-way Sarutobi reached for the next file on the list of Konoha's Exam Finalists: Aburame Shino.

"Now Shikaku what do you have on Shino-kun?" asked Sarutobi.

Grabbing Shino's file Shikaku said, "Shino's stats from the first and second exams are impeccable and his battle with Suna's puppetry Genin Kankuro was impressive."

"While he is a bit closed off from his fellow Genin, it's to be expected with the Aburames, no offense Shibi-san, however he has shown not only great tactical knowledge for a Genin but also effective leadership skills as shown by how he brought his team from the Forest of Death unharmed within only half a day."

All those on the Ninja Clan Council nodded at the Chuunin examiners assessments and decided on the vote of general consensus of his promotion.

"Alright with all this brought to our attention, does anyone feel young Shino-kun does not deserve a promotion?" asked the 3rd.

After a short moment of discussion none raised their hands. With the silent agreement made Sarutobi said, "As none have raised their hands in question of the matter then with that being said Aburame Shino shall be given the rank of Chuunin."

All those present turned to Aburame Shibi and clapped in congratulations to his clan member, and more importantly son, being promoted.

Quietly thanking the council, everyone then turned back their attention to the Hokage as he brought forth the next applicant to be questioned for promotion. Lifting the form from the small pile Hirzuen said, "Next on the list is a slightly unique case, one Tsuchi Kin formerly of Otogakure."

At his statement those not fully in the now regarding the girl started yelling and raising alarm at the Hokage's words. After things started to get out of hand Hirzuen let out a quick burst KI to silence the council and regain order.

Seeing he has their attention again he looked towards his former teammate Homura as he stood, "Hokage-sama may I ask as to when such a transfer happened, because if memory serves she was still wearing an Oto headband when she was present at the Exam Finals."

"That was all a clever disguise to hide Kin in plan site as it were. In fact it was because of Kin's information and help that we were able to counter my former student so effectively." replied the Hokage.

At this moment Danzo decided to speak, "I can only assume he girl asked for protection from Orochimaru for the information."

However for Danzo, Sarutobi was prepared for this and used his planned counter, "That was in fact part of the deal I made with young Kin-chan. Alongside being able to continue her kunoichi career only under Konoha's banner, she was also agreed to a full interview on everything thing she knows of Oto in return for not having her sent to I & T."

Before Danzo or anyone else could argue he added the last part to cut them off, "She has also allowed for Inoichi here to do a full mindwalk for the above mentioned agreements and I intend to fulfill my end of the bargain."

At his last statement none could raise any argument to his arrangement with the former Oto kunoichi, seeing that everyone has settled he decided to get everyone back on track, "Now because she is now apart of our village and has been since before the Finals we shall treat her as such as we grade her performance in the exams."

Getting back to business at hand Shibi grabbed Kin's file that had been the next on the pile, "Alright well from what was gathered from both the written and forest parts of the exams she has shown impressive skills in support and information gathering and transferring. While there's not much on the support skills in the forest stage her skills at sound transferring information is very good as it was those skills that allowed her and her former teammates to pass the written exam with only one mark against them as."

Nodding at Shibi's assessment, Sarutobi turned to Shikaku with the Prelim and Finals stage assessments, "While troublesome the girl shows incredible tactical skills to be able to counter and find one of the less known weaknesses to my clan's Kage Mane no Jutsu. Not only that but her interesting sound based genjutsu have been shown to deadly."

Those that saw the kunoichi fight in the Finals against the oldest Sabaku sibling could only nod in agreement, that last jutsu of her's seemed incredibly painful and dangerous to the one's caught in it.

However because of her former allegiance many where against promoting the ebony haired kunoichi, thankfully her aid, information, and talent was able to swing enough votes in her favor for a possible future promotion like Neji.

Next up was hopefully the quickest in Hirzuen's mind, Uchiha Sasuke. At the mention of the boy's name many on the Civilian and Advisory Council pushed to have him promoted, only to be silenced with a reminder at both his, Jiraiya's, and Genma's written statement of the boy being denied promotion for showing up late and not having legitimate reasoning for doing so."

At this many suggested a possible setup for the Uchiha like was made for Kin and Neji, only to once again for the matter to be denied when reminded that the boy still being allowed to participate in the exams was all he was getting.

Finally after what felt like hours the two councils stopped driving for some possible arrangement when they saw the Hokage as not budging.

When all were calmed down Sarutobi reached for the last file of Genins, Uzumaki Naruto's.

When Hiruzen presented his file most of the Civilian Council started vying for no promotion regardless of what the examiners may have concerning Naruto's performance. It ended up being a burst of KI from Jiraiya this time around to quiet them all down.

Now with all eyes on him Jiraya spoke, "I want everyone to realize now that by saying you think he either doesn't deserve or have the qualifications to been even shelved for future promotion means you think my teaching skills are quite terrible. Seeing as I was the one to train the gaki throughout the entire time up to the Finals."

At this realization most stopped their complaining and at their growing silence Shibi began to read off Naruto's 1st and 2nd exam resumes, "In the first exam it's shown that Naruto did in fact not answer any of his questions, and from what Ibiki-san as written here believes that Naruto was banking his entire success on the 10th question. Now while that doesn't seem to impressive or very intelligent it does show that Uzumaki-san has not only a great deal of courage but also a unique skill at providing others with his own courage. This is proven by the fact one Chuunin states that Haruno Sakura and a few others during Ibiki's last question were very close to giving up before Naruto-san gave a speech that emboldened those close to quitting. Such a skill is something any village would wish for team leaders and commanders for either missions or wars."

Both Sarutobi and Jiriaya beamed at Shibi's report knowing that such a skill was rare to have naturally without any real training or experience. Then again with parents like Naruto's both would be surprised if the boy didn't have even some of his father's charisma or mother's ability to make allies and friends so easily.

As Shibi read over some of the known actions Naruto performed in the forest most of which was nothing to special, though when it was mentioned of his brief battle with one of Orochimaru's snake summons and then his attempt at fighting the Hebi Sannin on his own to save his teammates all the clan heads could only look with some level of incredibility at the boy's tenacity and bravery to challenge one of the villages worst criminals single-handedly and with no real care for his own well-being.

After the Aburame Head finished his report on Naruto's performance in the 1st and 2nd stages, Shikaku began his reports on Naruto performance in the Prelims and Finals. "Uzumaki has shown a great deal of tactical know how in his fight with Inuzuka Kiba, not only by using the boy's emotions against him, but also with his bound with his inu partner. Alongside that he's shown his own cleverness with how he tricked Kiba into attacking him at the end of their fight and catching him in his stink trap."

Many of the clan heads nodded at that, Inuzuka Tsume herself remembering that particular prank vividly, "Thank Kami I was away for a mission and Hana had night duty at the west gate that day as well. Though I still know plenty of dogs still angry for the prank."

While Tsume was in her momentary recollection of one of Naruto's more smelly pranks Shikaku continued with Naruto's actions in concerns to both his battle against Hyuuga Neji and then Nii Yugito.

During said discussion many asked Jiraiya himself where the unique armor the blonde used came from. Most where indeed shocked to hear that the boy created it himself with a combination of smithing, chakra conductive metal, and Fuinjutsu. When questioned by Danzo of possible duplicating the armor Jiraiya stated it wouldn't be wise until he and Naruto has worked out several more kinks in the design, stating that only at this time can Naruto himself use it with his unique healing factor.

Thankfully putting that matter aside he was then questioned about the boy's sword he used against Yugito, only to tell everyone that it was a gift from Arai Dan and nothing more.

Finally after much more discussion as well as Naruto's part in the Invasion it was eventually decided, with much arguing on the Civilian's and Advisor's parts, that Naruto being promoted to Chuunin as a trial run before giving him a full promotion in rank.

With the exam grading finished Hiruzen finally moved onto the last matter to discuss, "Now the only thing left I wish to present to the council is something of both great importance and a necessity for this village as a whole."

At the rooms silence Sarutobi voiced his next words with complete seriousness, "I'm will be officially retiring for a second time as soon as Jiraiya-kun here returns with the person who I have chosen as my successor, Senju Tsunade."

It took a few seconds for the words to fully digest among the council members, only to soon be met with shock and defiance, "Hiruzen you can't be serious!" was the first words shouted from Homura.

Danzo was no better in that regard though he was mostly more annoyed at the choice then anything, "Tsunade hasn't stepped foot in Konoha in over a decade, what makes you think you can get her to return much less be Hokage."

As he let everyone voice their opinions and complaints he slowly brought everyone back to attention with his plans, "Now I have in fact been using the time before this meeting and during the village's recovery from the Invasion to have Jiraiya-kun track Tsunade down for her to return. And thankfully his search bore some fruit, Tsunade is currently within the borders of upper Hi no Kuni. Tomorrow I intend to send Jiraiya out to find her and bring her back to her home."

Koharu chose at this time to voice her own point, "The if that is your plan we can't exactly ignore it, since even if she chooses to deny becoming Hokage her medical skills are still usefully for the safety of the village. I would suggest sending a team or two of ANBU with Jiraiya-kun to aid in his search."

Jiraiya himself quickly put his foot down, "Not a chance ANBU will only slow me down, especially a whole team of them. I already have my plan setup as well as my team, myself and Uzumaki Naruto."

Many began to voice their displease at Jiraiya bring the Jinchuuriki with him only to be quieted at Sarutobi's next words, "I've already signed off Naruto for this missions so any complaints will be effectively ignored as it was Jiraiya's choice on who he brings for this mission."

Seeing that no more could be done at this point the Sandaime summoned on of his ANBU in the room. At his silent call a neko masked kunoichi ANBU appeared by the Hokage's side, "Neko-san I'd like for you to go and bring Uzumaki Naruto to my office. If neither myself nor Jiraiya are there by said time just wait by his side till I or Jiraiya do, is that understood?"

"Hai Hokage-sama." was her reply.

Nodding at this he sent her off while turning back to the council meeting and dismissed them at that time.

-Hokage's Office 2 Hours Later-

"WHAT!"

Was the shout heard throughout Konoha as one Uzumaki Naruto heard the words leave his ojiji's mouth.

"Calm down Naruto-kun, I know it's a lot to take in but it's the truth. I am soon retiring and in no shape to continue safely protecting or leading this village. I need a younger ninja to take my job and the best ones for that job are either of my two remaining students, however Jiraiya is far to busy with his spy network to be able to stay here so Tsunade is the only option."

Taking several deep breaths while trying to calm down Naruto turned to Jiraiya see if this was for real, only to receive a nod in return. Signing Naruto could only ask, "Well why am I hear then?"

At his newest student's words Jiraiya said "I figured since your know my apprentice and this mission could take a worst a month or slightly more I'd bring you along since I could also use a little help. This will also allow me to train you some more during the breaks we'll take during searches for her."

Seeing the sense in his perverted sensei's words Naruto then said, "Well I guess so. When will we be going then?"

This time it was Hiruzen spoke, "Both of you will leave midday tomorrow, that way you can gather what you may need and tell your friends of where you're going."

Nodding at this Naruto turned to leave so he could begin packing only to be stopped by Sarutobi, "Wait Naruto-kun there's one last thing before you head home."

Looking back at his ojiji, his eye's widened at what he was holding out to him...a Chuunin vest.

"Does this mean..." poor Naruto was so shocked he couldn't finish his sentence.

Nodding along with his former sensei Jiraiya said, "Yep, congrats kid you're a Chuunin now."

The blonde could only gingerly take the vest out of the Hokage's hands with a mix of surprise and joy. Trying his best to hold back his tears Naruto turned to them and could only ask, "Can I get this in a different color scheme?"

At his words both men laughed, as the boy himself only said, "I wasn't kidding."

-Konoha's Main Gate the Next Day-

We find our blonde hero waiting at the main gate with Haku and Kin for Jiraiya. Both girls currently enjoying what time they can spend with him before leaving for whatever amount it takes to find and return Tsunade to Konoha.

Though both Haku and Naruto noticed Kin seemed a little pale and Haku could have sworn she saw some blood in the sink this morning.

Soon they all saw the approach of the aforementioned Gama Sannin, "Alright gaki you ready?"

"Yep, let's go Ero-Sannin." stated Naruto as he turned to exit the village.

"STOP CALLING ME THAT!" shouted Jiraiya as he went to hit Naruto.

Just as the two passed the gate to leave one Tsuchi Kin began to cough. Turning to her new roommate(6) Haku went to rub her back, "Are you okay Kin?"

Nodding a little Kin, tried to take a few slow and easy breaths, only to beginning hacking again.

"Kin?" said Haku as she started to worry over the girl. "I'm fine, just s little cou..." only to be stopped by another loud and painful series of coughs.

Kin soon felt an odd feeling on her hand as she removed it from her face, and saw black blood stain her hand.

Haku seeing the blood could only scream, "KIN!" as said kunoichi slowly passed out next to Haku.

Hearing the shout Naruto and Jiraiya turned to see Kin fall over next to Haku, panicked Naruto ran to check on her with Jiraiya running after him.

As they approached the saw the small amount of black liquid drip from the former Oto-nin's mouth. Shocked Naruto went to question Haku.

"Haku-chan what happened, why is black stuff leaking out of Kin's mouth?" asked a distressed Naruto.

Haku could only look if worry and horror, "I don't know? She just started coughing really badly and soon started coughing up black blood and then passed out."

Kneeling next to the two Jiraiya looked the girl over and signed, "Damn, I think I know what's wrong with your friend gaki."

Both looked to Jiraiya with questionable looks upon their faces, "Haku can I assume during the invasion you two were attacked at some point by some of Orochimaru's Oto-nins?"

Nodding at his question Jiraiya continued, "What I can guess is that she was hit with a slow acting but dangerous poison I learned about during my attempts at finding my former teammate. One such bit of information I came across was that Orochimaru created a type of poison, one made from a mixture of one or two from his sword the Kusanagi and the some from Kusa's personal poison labs. The stuff was supposed to be a new fast acting miasma he was gonna used to wipe out whole towns. The only problem was it was not only very slow acting but also required a unique activation."

Looking at Kin with fear in his eyes, Naruto could only ask, "What kind of activation?"

Turning to Naruto with no small amount of seriousness on his face he said, "Sound waves."

Seeing the fear growing in his pupil's face Jiraiya quickly tried to cheer him up (if even a bit), "Thankfully she hasn't done much of anything that requires serious labor or excessive chakra use so it stills requires plenty of time to spread. Also since she is still quite young the poison will need more time to adjust in her body, it was only fully lethal against those with weak immune systems in the short run namely elderly and children."

Nodding at this Haku went to bring Kin to the hospital before Jiraiya's stopped her, "Sadly she's had it in her for far to long now and will most likely die before long."

"I'm not letting Kin die Jiraiya!" shouted Naruto.

Shaking his head at the boy Jiraiya stated, "The only person I can think that could cure her is my teammate Tsunade, and that would require her coming with use and you as well Haku."

Giving the Sannin a surprised expression he continued, "She'll need around the clock observation so you'll need to come with use to watch her till we locate Tsunade understand?"

Agreeing with Jiraiya's orders she ran back to grab her medical supplies while Naruto rested Kin against his back to carry her.

After a few minutes Haku returned with a full pack of medic supplies and her personal equipment. Looking at both student and teacher Jiraiya quickly turned to facing out of the village, going through the necessary handseals he called out, "Kuchiyose no Jutsu!", and brought out a house sized toad.

Looking at Jiraiya and the others he saw the sick looking girl and nodded realizing the situation quickly. Turning to his student and friends he said, "Normally I call Gamabunta or one of his brothers but since Tsuande will start running off if she sees one of them I go for one of the more smaller but nearly as fast toads, okay?"

Receiving dual nods the Sannin directed Gamashiro towards Tsuande's last known location and made sure his traveling partners where all set.

At his command Gamashiro hopped off, with one last look at his apprentice's face as he looked at the poisoned Kin, "I hope we can find you in time Tsunade, now it's even more important I find you before this month is over."

Hehehehehe. I'm fairly certain you're all like "What the hell is going on with Hiruzen?" or "Why is Jiraiya need to find Tsunade in before the next month ends?" huh? Well you'll just have to wait and see what I have planned, somethings of which I don't know just yet. Don't judge me it's my style to fly by the seat of my pants as the expression goes and I ain't changing for anyone!

My usual steak fried rice meal costs around at most $20, yeah, but so freaking worth it.

2-The appearance and basic attitude of this character is based HEAVILY on a very good friend of mine's wrestling gimmick he uses in the Indies. If your curious to know more or in fact know who I'm talking about good for you. If not then just look up Oleg the Usurper on YouTube. He's associated with Danny Danger and CHIKARA'S smaller promotions the 'Wrestling Is'...groups. So if your from Pennsylvania or the Eastern Area of America then you maybe familiar with the guy.

3-Goda is short for Gōdatsusha which stands for Usurper in Japanese.

4-The move he used is called a Omoplata Crossface. A legit MMA and Pro-Wrestling move currently used by Daniel Bryan of WWE. If my description is hard to understand I'd suggest hopping over to YouTube and watching Bryan use it there. Kami know's there's literally tons of videos of him using it on several people after all...one of which includes the Heartbreak Kid himself Shawn Michaels. Although in that case he really freaking deserved it.

5-As a quick heads up the trick Naruto did with the smoke bomb under his foot I got from the Pokémon Adventures manga series. Specifically during Red's Gym battle with Giovanni. Red snuck his Aerodactly's PokeBall under his foot to trick Giovanni into a false sense of security thinking he had Red trapped. Only for Red to release Aerodactly and blast his Beedrill with a Hyper Beam to faint it. If you're a Pokémon fan I'd check that series out, far better and more serious and interesting then the anime. Red trumps Ash in every way possible.

6-One of Kin's requests was being able to live with Naruto, sadly he doesn't have the room so instead she lives with Haku and instead is put under as Naruto's responsibility for the time in which she is on probation.
