Ugh, I'm so tired. If I could, I would sleep for a whole week. Ever felt like that? I have, and I know it all too well. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the random sentences I wrote below.
Chapter 11
Ciel froze for a moment. Sebastian shook his shoulder and rested his finger against his lips to keep quiet. Nodding, Ciel turned around on top of Sebastian and carefully opened the knife drawer. He took the first one that the tips of his fingers touched. Good. It wasn't too heavy on his hand.
All of a sudden, the window broke and someone slammed the front door opened. Sebastian got on his knees so he wouldn't be seen. He then opened the bottom cabinet, took out whatever was inside, and shoved Ciel inside. He closed the small door and crawled away.
Taken by surprise, Ciel widened his eyes in the dark. What if someone found him? If that happened, he'd have no escape. The small door opened, starling him. Ciel sighed in relief at the sight of Undertaker. The man held his wrist and pulled him out of the cabinet. "Where's Sebastian and Lau?"
"They left the house to catch them from behind," Undertaker answered. "I've already called backup. They will arrive at any moment. Come on, we have to hide somewhere else."
Nodding, Ciel followed Undertaker closely. He hoped Sebastian was alright. He didn't want the man to get hurt because of him. They entered Sebastian's bedroom. "What now?" he asked the officer.
"Stay here," Undertaker told him and sat him in a corner. "Don't leave, understood?" Ciel just nodded and he went to the closed window.
Ciel wondered what Undertaker had in mind. The door opened and Lau entered the room. "Where's Sebastian?" he quickly asked.
"No idea," Lau answered, standing close to the door. "He just disappeared while we were outside. The intruders are carrying weapons, so he should be careful. Good thing this is his territory and he knows it better than them."
Still, Ciel couldn't help but worry for Sebastian. He felt someone looking at him, making him switch his attention to the window. "Outside," he shouted and crawled out of the corner. Another shot was heard. It seemed that these intruders had poor aim, since they missed again.
Undertaker opened the window and pulled the masked man inside. The officer quickly immobilized him, pinning that stranger too the floor. "Where's your other friend?" he asked. When there was no answer, Undertaker pulled out his weapon and pointed it at the intruder's head. "Where? I won't ask again." A frightening smirk formed on his lips. It seemed that Ciel had yet to meet someone decent.
Yet another shot was heard, but it was in another room. Without a second thought, Ciel rushed out of the room. "Sebastian?" he called. The moans of pain led him to the living room. He was faced with the sight of Sebastian leaned on the back of the couch, holding his shoulder. And a man stood in front of him, his weapon pointed at the officer.
"Ah, finally you appeared. We're here because of you. Our boss will pay us greatly if we do a good job," he said and pointed his gun at Ciel. "I guess my job here is done."
Frowning, Ciel hid next to the kitchen entrance. The man shot at him twice. Even though he was scared, he wasn't as much with a knife. He crouched and didn't wait a second to peek. Sebastian could end up hurt or even killed. Ciel aimed the knife and threw it at the man's leg.
"You brat," the intruder shouted once the blade sank into his thigh.
Sebastian took the chance and jumped onto the man. He managed to take the weapon away and pointed it at him. "Now what?" the officer asked, grinning widely.
Undertaker and Lau came into the living room with the other trespasser. "We managed to squeeze some information out of him."
Right after them came Hannah with a few other officers. "This is not working," she said. "If Ciel isn't safe here, we have to take him somewhere else. I've arranged for him to go live with his aunt again and have some agents in shifts monitoring the house. We can't risk it when someone might get seriously hurt."
Ciel stared at her then at Sebastian, who looked at him as well. Did this mean that they'd be separated?
Thanks for reading! I also thank the ones who got my second book. I really, really appreciate the support. I've been on Fanfiction for years and I've become friends with some of you. I know perfectly that behind each screen is a person, and I value that. Now, don't forget to "Follow Story", if you haven't already, to know what's going to happen next. :)
Eiko.
