Chapter 11

Gabriela p.o.v.

-knock knock-
"Um uh eh Enter!" I hear Mephisto say trough his office doors. He sounds a little… embarrassed? No way, not Mephisto!
It's been two days since Rin and I came back from Sayulita and I still haven't spoken to him.
I enter the room and stop in my tracks the moment I see him. I feel a huge sweat drop coming down my head.
"Mephisto… What the hell are you wearing?" I ask, a little ticked off.
"This is the Honey-Honey Sisters yukata!" "Okay… And that on your head?"
"This is for the true samurai spirit!" He says, full of pride.
I stare at him, wearing that pink yukata with anime girls on it, a katana on his side and that weird bald cap on his head… This is… just… HILLARIOUS!
I burst out laughing, holding my stomach from laughter!
"What is so funny? You do not understand the true meaning of moe!"
"No, I don't! Hahaha…!" I try to calm myself. But somehow, I just can't look at him seriously while he's wearing that.
"You are a true heartbreaker, you know that?" "Haha, Yeah, but I can be a good girl." Now that I think about it, I rarely do look at Mephisto seriously.
"So." "Yes?" I finnaly look at him. "Care to join me for some chess?"
"I'd love to." "Great!" He sits on the floor in front the white chess row. We always play like that. He takes the first step.
Chess is me and Mephisto talking serious business. I had a feeling he would play chess with me once I got back.
"Mephisto." I say, siting on my place on the floor. "What is it?" "Drop the hat. I can't focus."
"Kill joy."
So we start playing. At first the game starts lightly, but the moment the first pawn falls, we get serious.
"So how was Sayulita." "That's not what you're really asking me." I say, reading his moves.
"I almost forgot about your sharp wit. So. Talk." "Enough games, Mephisto." "That's weird to say, considering we are playing chess."
"True." I see him grin at me. "You know that Sabor was there." "mmhm." "And you know my mother died." "mmhm…"
"Then what you want to know?"
"How did Rin take meeting him?"

Rin p.o.v.

"Uh… I would rather bring a date to the amusement park after school, not like this…" I listen to Shima ramble on. "How was your team's mission Shima?" Koneko asks him.
"It was a while ago… And I don't know if you could call it a mission…" He looks up to me.
"It was a giant squid." I say. "Squid?" "Squid."
"Say, Rin, where did you go with that woman Gabriela after we came back from that mission?" Shima asks me with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, we, well… A special mission." I say, remembering our agreement to keep it all a secret. We are an item, but Gabi asked me to keep that a secret too, mostly because of Yukio and for my own protection. From Sabor she said.
But I honestly hope I see that guy again. I'd like to beat him up for all the pain he put his mother and Gabi trough.
"Oh well that is bullshit!" Bon says as he stands up from where we were sitting. "Me- What!?" I ask, afraid that he might ask about Gabi.
"I mean, there are people who are not even doing anything!"
I relax, looking over to that Eminem hooded guy and the puppet guy.
Well, they really didn't have any missions or anything. I should ask Gabi about that.
"Sorry we're late!" I hear Shiemi's voice call and I look over to where her voice was coming from.
Wow!
"Shiemi, what happened to your kimono?" I ask her, feeling myself blush a little.
"The kimono is not fit for missions, so the Principal assigned me this uniform. We're late because Kamiki had to show me how to put it on. I couldn't reach Gabi for some reason…" She couldn't reach Gabi? Oh yeah, she said that she's going to talk to that crazy clown today.
"I hope it's not weird…" She says, blushing again.
"It's good, it's good! Its hella good Shiemi!" Shima says, with hearts pouring out of his eyes. "Thanks…"
I jump down to Yukio and whisper in his ear. "Hey, isn't the skirt a little too short? Huh Yukio?"
"Why are you asking me that?" He asks sternly. "Well because you were checking out her boo-"
SMACK! "Owwww…" he smacks me on the face with a book. "That hurt Four-eyes!"
"Now that you're all here let me assign you in pairs!" he says, walking to the center of the group.
"Miwa, Takara. Yamada, Suguro." "Why…" Bon murmurs "Kamiki, Shima." Shima smiles from ear to ear.
"Okumura, Moriyama." Shiemi smiles at me "I'm with Rin!" She says, exited.
I just smile at her.
"Lately we have been sightings of a ghost and reports of damage here in MepphyLand, so today you'll investigate that." Yukio explains to us our task.
"You have to find it today while the park is closed to the public, and when you do report to professor Tsubaki's or my cell phone."
Whisker-face clears his throat. "Now would someone please define what a ghost it. Kamiki?"
"Yes. Ghosts are demons that possess vapors emitted from the corpses of humans or animals. They often exhibit residual emotions from the lifetime of the subject."
Wow, that's a mouthful. I couldn't remember that even if I tried.
"Very well." Whiskers praises her.
"How many ghosts are there?" Konekomaru asks.
"There is only one, although there have been sightings from all over the park. It takes the appearance of a small boy." Yukio answers him.
"It usually doesn't do anything else than pull hands or lift skirts."
Am I glad Gabi is not wearing those!
"Those are childish pranks. So it's a child." Shima says.
"But if we leave it be, it may become more vicious."
"It should be easy with this many people." Shima says confident. I agree with him.
"Any other questions?" There were none. "Alright. Head out!"

"Rin, you watch the right side, I'll watch the left." "Okay."
I can't help but look at Shiemi walking in front of me. She looks so different.
But that uniform… it really suits her well. I wonder how it would fit on Gabi..
She would look like a bomb! I feel myself drool but then I notice Shiemi walking weirdly.
"Oi, you okay?" She turns around with her face all puffed an red.
"AA! What's wrong with your face!? Are you angry?" "No… I'm… Not laughing…" "Huh?" I don't get it…
She turns around and continues to walk like a stick figure.
"Hey wait a second! You're acting weird!"

Gabriela p.o.v.

"He should be on a mission right now, right?" "Yes, in your little Mepphy-hahaha…" I start laughing.
"I repeat it again, you are a heartbreaker." "I'm sorry, but how do you expect me not to laugh at a name like that?" I ask, looking down at the chessboard again.
"So you seem pretty much okay, considering your mother died three days ago and the meeting with Sabor?" He asks me .
"Well… I found something that makes me happy." "You did?" "Yes. I don't feel so lost anymore. I was lost since Sabor flipped the page, but I feel like I can let go now and focus on other things."
"Like fighting High Grigori and the rest of the church?" "Right." I smile
"Why are you sticking up for Rin so much?" "Well, in a way, he's just like me. Not entirely human but not entirely something else either. I don't want them to use him the way they did me. He needs freedom."
"If you're fighting them, you re defying God."
"I'm going to hell anyway." He just grins at that.
"Why do you never wear my school uniform?" "Why the sudden question?"
"I gave one to Moriyama yesterday. I just wondered. You have your uniform, I know, but you also wear mini skirts and dresses sometimes too."
"Have you peeked into my closet?" I ask him teasing. "I don't wear your uniform because it's too white for me." I answer to his question.
"Why do you hate the color white so much? Your work jacket is white."
"It's just… Too sterile. Too empty."
"Is that why you don't like my principal uniform?" "Is that a uniform or a clown's costume?"
"Again I say, heartbreaker."

Rin p.o.v.

As we're looking through the amusement park, I can't help but wonder if I should ask Gabriela to come with me… Like on a date… Sure, we are together, but we've practically never been on a date. I wonder how she would react…
Maybe I shouldn't ask her so soon, after all she's still mourning.
I stop thinking when Shiemi lets out a really loud WOW.
She's standing in front of me and I swear I see sparkles surrounding her.
"Shiemi?"
She slightly turns to me with a huge blush on her face
"I always wanted to go to the amusement park…" she whispers "…But I couldn't stand so many people around me, so that was out of the question. I guess it's normally crowded and a lot of fun…"
I listen to her thinking that maybe it would be easier for her to go with someone she knew and trusted. Maybe with…
"Then let's come together here next time. Gabi and me and maybe even Yukio!"
She turns to me with a huge smile on her face. "Okay!"
This is great! I could ask Gabi out but I won't feel too nervous about it!
"That's great! Now let's decide where to look next!"

As we enter the next area, I swear I her a faint…
"Rin?" "A voice…" "Voice?"
The ferries wheel starts turning and I put my hand in front of Shiemi.
"Why did it start turning?" "Here it comes."
And so we star surprised at a small ghost of a kid crying on one of those horses.
"Amazing Rin! How did you know?" "Ha, it's like a gift." I say, scratching my head
"Why are you crying?" Shiemi asks the ghost as she approaches him. "Hey, don't talk to demons!" "But he's tiny and he doesn't look dangerous at all…"
"Hey! How long to you want to keep on crying?" And then the kid cries even louder. "You shouldn't yell at him!" "But I…"
The kid flies into Shiemi and hugs her…boobs. "I was very sick… But my parents promised we'd come here when I get well…" The demon says while sniffing into her…boobs. "But I died, so no one…"
"I see, you were just lonely…" Shiemi tells him.
"Shut up, you hag!" WHA?! The ghost squeezes her…boobs and then flies away calling us stupid.
"That brat!" Am I glad Gabi is not here; her boobs are mine to rub- "Hey! Wait you!" I start running after him, finnaly snapping out of my daze.
He continues mocking me as I run after him. Shiemi yells for me to wait but I continue to run until we get to the giant golden statue of Mephisto.
"Where did that pervy brat go?" I ask after catching my breath
"Rin, I'll check over there." Shiemi says pointing to the other side. "Sure."
"Ah right, I should report that we found him." I start typing on my cell when someone steals my kurikara from my shoulders
"Who are you? Give it back!"

Gabriela p.o.v.

"You never answered my question. Check." I move my king out of harm's way and answer to Mephisto.
"What question?" "How did Rin react when he met Sabor?"
"Hmm…" I start to think. By now Mephisto and I were in a heated chess game. Our games were never really that long, 2-3 hours tops, but they were always tense.
"I really didn't notice when Rin saw him. Honestly, I was too shocked to see him myself, so…" "Yes, I heard that you gave the garden a La Gabriela makeover."
I lost myself, that's true. I even chopped some of the trees off.
"Why do you want to know about Rin and Sabor?" "I'm just curious..."
"Don't try to hide your games from me." "It's not fun if I just tell you."

Rin p.o.v.

The green haired freak just puts a lollipop in his mouth. "Who? Oh. I'm Amaimon, a demon king. Kinnda like your big brother. Nice to meet you. Also, I'm not giving this back."
"A demon?" He throws Kurikara's red bag at me. "So this is the Demon-Slaying Blade?" "Hey, GIVE IT BACK!" I yell, pissed off
"Let's see how it works." He unsheathes my sword just a little and just like that I burst into blue flames.
"STOP!"
But he kept opening and closing my sword like a little kid and I was getting more and more pissed off.
"Stop screwing around!" "I see, so the sword is connected to Gehenna. And the scabbard is the gate itself." He says as he continues to open and close the sword.
"If the sword is sheathed then the gate closes, and when it's drawn it opens again."
"Come on, make up your mind!" I'm beyond pissed now
He blinks at me and then pulls out my sword. "Alright, let's leave it like this!"
He then looks at the glowing sword then back at me. "Your flames are in Gehenna, and your body is Assiah, right?"
"WHO CARES!" I jump up to kick him, but he jumps away and I kick off the head of Mephisto's statue.
"What did you do to our brother's head?" "What do you want!?"
"What do I want? I had some free time so I came here to play."
To play? "This is an amusement park after all, so let's have a lot of fun!"
He snaps his fingers and the ride on which pipe he's standing on, starts to work. So do all the other rides.

Gabriela p.o.v

Huh? I felt a jolt a while ago, Rin's flames were activated. And Amaimon is close by too.
"You are getting distracted from the game." Mephisto warns me with a smirk on his face.
I suddenly turn to the window noticing the electricity was on in the park.
"What are you scheming Mephisto?" "I'm trying to beat you in a chess game." I notice his ton is different, more sinister.
"Are you really?" And then I see smoke coming from the biggest ride in MepphyLand. It doesn't take much for me to realize what's going on.
I grab my uniform jacket and run out of his room "Queen to G-7. CHECMATE!" I yell to Mephisto, beating him in our game of chess.

Rin p.o.v.

This guy keeps hitting my head as we fall down, and I get no chance to evade as he kicks me to the floor and then knees me in the gut. I feel all the air escape my lungs and he continues to punch me in the face.
"This is such a letdown. I thought you would be good for killing some time."
THAT'S IT! I grab his face and throw him away. I start grabbing whatever I can and throw it at him. He made me really mad.
I land on him and grab his neck. I feel my fire burning even hotter.
"Now this is better."
He slams his fist into the floor and it cracks, I think even the earth shakes, but I honestly don't care. I just want to beat this guy up.
He kicks me off him, but I land on my feet.
Suddenly I hear Shiemi's scream and I see the pipes falling on her. Stupid! Get away from there! I try to run to her but I won't make it in time.
I yell and suddenly I feel my flames get out of my hand and everything goes white.
I fall to the floor panting, but knowing that Shiemi is safe. Suddenly I feel a foot kick me to the floor.
"Oh, is it over already? So boring. Brother has been keeping me back, but I think I should break your sword.
"That's enough Amaimon!" I hear a familiar voice call. Gabriela!?
"Oh, it's the gray angel. I haven't played with you in a while now." "I'm done beating your brother, no more games for me today." I hear a small smile in her voice. Does she know this guy?
I suddenly feel him jump off me and someone pulls me up. I see the Eminem guy holding a strange sword at the guy.
"How could a big fish like you get inside the academy?" He asks him.
"Mephisto let him in." Gabriela answers. She walks towards him and he just calmly looks at her.
"Give Kurikara back." "Why?" She just raises her eyebrow at him. "Really Amaimon, come on."
He looks around and then stares at me. He returns his focus to her.
"Ah, screw it." He says while kicking dirt, sheathing Kurikara and giving it to Gabi.
"See ya!" He says, jumping high and disappearing. "HEY WAIT!"
"Let him be Shura." Gabi tells him. Wait, Shura? He runs off.
"Rin, people may come soon, hide your tail." I fall on my knees and look into Gabriela's concerned black eyes. "Are you okay?" She asks in a scared tone.
"He took my sword so easily…" I look to the floor and feel her place her hand on my cheek, then move it to my hair. "He was so strong… I lost it for a second."
"Hey… it will be okay." "It's just the same as back then!" I slap her hand away and look at her. I feel furious, I feel guilty, I feel- She stops my bran from thinking as she slams her lips to mine. It was a hard and intense kiss and I felt myself calm down under her spell.
As she lets go of the kiss, I feel all better. "Was that your healing magic?" "No, that was just your girlfriend giving you a kiss after a hard day." She says, smiling a big smile.
"Rin, are you okay?" I see Shiemi run to us. I take my sword from Gabriela's hands and we both get up.
"I'm fine. Anyway, are you alright? What happened to that brat?" "He disappeared. He said 'thanks sis'" "I see…"
"Gabi, Rin! We should totally come here next time!" Um, I blush and look at Gabi who nods with a warm smile.
"Yeah, we should. After it gets repaired." Gabi says with a smirk
"Shiemi!" Yukio yells and runs to us. "Oh big guy, now you show up. Where were you half an hour ago?" Gabi asks him
"Are you alright?" He asks ignoring her. "Rin is hurt. He needs help."
"Rin, what happened?" "Yukio, you're late."
"Oh, Shura, welcome back." Gabi says to the Eminem…person?
"Hey Gabs. I got my drinking buddy back."
"You can't be…" Yukio stutters.
"I'm fed up with this look anyway." "Yeah, I have to give you credit for hiding from my eyes, I only recognized you by your sword."
He pulls his hoodie up and… removes some bandages around… HER chest?
I feel my eyes bulge out of their sockets. This person has some giant boobs!
"Aw, Shura, put those away, you're gonna hurt someone…" Gabi giggles
"The Vatican Headquarters dispatched me to investigate risk factors in the Japanese Branch. I am Shura Kirigakure, High Inspector, Upper First Class Exorcist."
I feel myself gawk at her and stare. "Also known as Miss Big Boobs." Gabi says while placing a hand on her shoulder.
Shura just smirks at her.

Gabi and I are sitting on the mattress in her room, Hooka sleeping in the kitchen of her apartment. She is slowly cleaning my beat up face but it stings every time she touches me.
"You weren't whining when I was kissing you earlier." "You caught me by surprise! OW!" "I'm done! You're such a baby…" she says with a smirk and I pout at her.
"But, you're still my baby." She says as she pecks me on the lips. I can't get enough of her lips. She really makes me happy.
"But how do you know Shura? And that green guy?" "I grew up here, I know Shura for a long time, really. I like her a lot, we used to steal alcohol from Mephisto's room. She knew that I can see a person's past only if I look into theirs eyes, hence her giant gangster hoodie." She giggles and looks out the hole of her room "And Amaimon came to me some while after Sabor turned sides."
I look at her with my eyebrows raised. "We fought for quite a while. And after we realized that we're on the same level, we laughed and ate some cake together, he has quite a sweet tooth."
"oh…"I star at my hands… They were on the same level… But I was so weak… I couldn't touch him! How will I ever beat Sabor if I can't even beat Clown no. 2?
And I lost myself again, it was just like when we were kids and I'd beat up Yukio and… I guess that's what Gabriela was talking about, her madness and my… Anger. After the whole commotion, Gabi had a talk with Yukio and the boobie woman and I'm sure she had to bail me out of some shit by the way they talked. I messed up again.
"Rin." I look up at her "You will get stronger."
I lay down on the mattress and she snuggles up into me. It feels good, really good.
"You'll be the strongest." She says as she reaches up to me and we enter another heated make out session.
