Hey, how are you guys? I know I have been quite silent for awhile, and I am extremely sorry for this. I can swear on the styx that I intend on finishing this story. I have 20 minutes cause my brother is being a meanie and he wants my mac...Well, enjoy this! Sorry if its terrible.
Percy's POV
I raced towards Sam, determination glowing in my eyes. I didn't have have to turn to know that Annabeth was on my heels diving in with me.
"You get Sam, I'll distract the furies" Annabeth barked.
I nodded in consent and ran out the camp boundaries yelling. "Alecto!"
Ms Dodds, or so I thought for a long time, turned towards me baring her teeth. "Percy Jackson, so we meet again."
"Leave her alone!"
She tsked. "I don't think so demigod. I'm on strict orders from my lord. I must bring her to the Underworld. This girl isn't technically legal."
"What do you mean?" The furies moved so that they were all facing me. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Annabeth pulling her invisibility cap off of her head. I had to keep them talking until my girlfriend got her friend past the boundary line.
"Oh, young naive little boy. You mean to say you don't know? I would think Ms. Chase would tell you everything."
"What?"
"About Samantha and her parentage of course." Alecto smiled at me, but the unnatural shape of her mouth had her grimacing instead. "The girl and the Athena girl are the best of friends. I sure your little girlfriend knows all."
The furies struck forwards circling me. I nearly wept with joy when I saw Sam and Annabeth cross the property line. Annabeth had previously muttered the entrance incantation so that Sam could enter. The very same she had used to let Tyson in.
My head was rumbling with possibilities. What could possibly give her all the properties of a demigod, but yet prevent her from entering the camp?
I was ripped from my thoughts when I heard a loud screech. "The girl has entered the camp! I thought you were watching her!"
The old lady shrieked in rage snapping her head toward me. Pulling her wings out she soared to me, eyes glittering dangerously. I fell towards the ground thrusting my sword up and she flew right past me.
She screamed out, dissolving into yellow dust that scattered all over me.
I coughed, spatting the yucky remains of a monster out of my mouth. Nimbly rolling to my feet I sprinted towards the line as fast as my legs could carry me.
From behind, I could here the furies wailing with...well fury. (xD Get it? Do ya get it?)
They raced after me, determined to be the first to defeat me.
"Son of Poseidon! We will finish you once and for all!"
I saw the blood drain from Sam's face and Annabeth had a determined look on her face as she leaped out of camp.
My girlfriend lunged forwards throwing her knife at a fury closing up on me. The blade sank into Alecto's stomach.
A dreadful holler came out of her mouth and she too, dissolved into dust. The last one, Tisiphone, who's name mean avenging murder, which is very fitting for the situation, let out a deranged howl.
I turned my head slightly backwards do see her eyes glowing red. "You killed my sisters! You shall pay!"
With my last ounce of energy, I launched myself forwards with my fingers wrapped around Annabeth's wrist and past Thalia's tree.
Tisiphone was moving at to fast of a pace to stop and she crashed straight into the barrier. For a scary second, it looked like the hold was going to break.
A wall of magic rippled across the hill. It was like watching a wall of water, like the clear and shimmering kind of a crystal clear lake. A shallow pool of water hanging vertically in the air, and it was vanishing.
Slowly, crack began to appear and the the demented laughter of Tisiphone was suddenly very close and clear.
Than suddenly a bright flash of light flared under the glare of the sun. The magic coming from the barrier blinded us all. Campers from all around that had been watching with wide eyes tripped and fell onto the grass, shielding their eyes.
When it cleared, the barricade has disappeared. Camp Half Blood had no way of knowing whether or not it was gone. Before this incident, it has always been invisible. But was it now invisible because it was gone?
Tisiphone sneered at the space the barricade had been before. Slowly, she lifted an old wrinkled finger, nail longer than her pinky and reached forwards.
Everybody scrambled to grab their weapons watching anxiously to see if she could get through.
There was reason why she should be able to break the barrier. Countless monsters have tried to get through and failed, but none have ever even come close to destroying it. But somehow, someway, this fury was on its way to killing our safe haven.
The Athena children held in their breaths, Annabeth leading them to a safer distance from the barrier.
We all crouched into our battle positions, wary of another war. I saw from the corner of my eye, demigods crowding in front of Sam to protect her.
Tisiphone touched her fingernail to the invisible protector. So far, there was no sign of a fence. Clacking she thrust her whole hand forwards.
Nothing happened. Than all of a sudden the visibility of the barrier came back, closing in on her wrist.
She bellowed, the line burning her wrist. The glow grew stronger in one blast it sent her flying back, crashing into the tree.
"This isn't over" and with one last glare, she sat up and flew away. Everything within in the vicinity was eerily silent. After that, everyone erupted into elated cheers.
I walked over to Sam to see her shaking profusely. Annabeth came up behind her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "It's ok, your ok, you are safe now."
Some Apollo campers took her away to see if they could snap her out of shock. She was trembling and her finger were white from gripping herself too hard.
As soon as the commotion was over and Sam was in the infirmary, the rest of the half bloods trickled off silently.
Soon it was just Annabeth and I left. I wrapped my arms around her shoulders savoring the lemon scent of her hair.
"Why on earth would you step out of the barrier to throw a knife at a pissed off fury?!" I murmured these words into her ears, burying my nose into the crook of her neck.
"I couldn't very well let you die? Could I Seaweed Brain?" Somehow, she rotated in my tight grip until we were face to face. Our foreheads touched lovingly.
"I would rather die than see you die." I said these words with absolute conviction. There was no way on this planet that I would let Annabeth, my wise girl, leave me.
"Don't talk like that" Her words were intended to be sharp, but it came out soft, maybe even venerable. If there was one thing everyone knew about Annabeth Chase, it was that she was the strongest person ever.
She doesn't cry and she doesn't let people see her suffer. The way she was talking to me right now frightened me greatly, the only time I ever saw her this upset was when we were in Tartarus.
"Ugh, Vlacas, I'm being such an Aphrodite!" she furiously whipped her tears away. "I hate how you make me care so much!"
I almost laughed. "I don't make you care, you choose to care and boy and I glad you did."
She looked up and smiled. Than without a second to spare, she slapped me straight across the face. "DONT YOU EVER SCARE ME LIKE THAT AGAIN! I THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE GOING TO KILL Y-"
I slammed my mouth to her and I could feel her vehemently trying to pull away. Annabeth finally realized she was struggling in vain and melted into the kiss.
I felt like I was thawing, my hand caressed her cheek, right hand resting gently on her waist.
Her hands curled around my neck gripping my hair tightly in her fists. I savored the moment, praying to Hades and thanking him for not taking my love away.
As soon as we pulled away, I was finally aware of the awes sounding from all around us.
Ignoring them, I turned back to my girlfriend. "I will never, ever leave you. Not even in death. I will always be there and don't you ever forget it!"
She smiled, "I know Seaweed, believe me, I know. I love you"
"I love you more" I muttered back
"I love you most!" and with that she grinned at her triumph and the sad moment was over.
I spluttered indigently. "So, untrue."
I heard the half bloods watching us laugh. "Whatever Seaweed Brain. Whatever."
