CHAPTER 11

Somehow, Kagome managed to drag the stoic demon lord into her favorite boutique without dying. He looked so uncomfortable in the girly atmosphere.

"Lighten up, will you?" she said. She took a midnight blue long sleeved shirt off with delicate black stitching climbing all the way up to the collar of the middle of the shirt, where it ended with a perfect bow. Her eyes lit up as she inspected it.

"What do you think of this one?" she asked, hoping she would get a decent answer. All she got was a glare.

"I'm buying it. If you want anything, don't hesitate to ask," she chatted over her shoulder. She put it on the counter, ready to pay for it.

"Is that all miss?" the lady working the register asked.

"Yes."

"That'll be 8000 yen, please."

"8000!?" Kagome yelped. She didn't think to look at the price before buying it, and it was apparently a very pricy piece.

"Yes, it's a high quality piece we recently obtained," the unfazed woman replied.

"Would this compensate the cost?" Sesshoumaru suddenyl asked, placing a golden nugget the size of a quarter on the counter. The lady's eyes went as wide as saucers.

"No, no, I can pay for it fine, thank you Sesshoumaru," she quickly said, and snatched the piece away from the astonished gaze of the lady. After she paid for the shirt, she took Sesshoumaru's arm and ran out of the store.

"What was that Sesshoumaru? How did you get this?" She held the piece of gold up to his face.

"A piece of gold. I am a lord. I am no peasant, therefore I have a sufficient amount of wealth."

"But this much? Sesshoumaru, in this time, that thing is worth over 200,000 yen! That's a huge amount of money! People might get suspicious if you just pull out pieces of gold like that. I can pay for my own things, you don't have to worry... Thanks, though," she said. She got no reply as they began walking to the next store on her mind.
