Chapter 11:
Shadow and Amy returned home feeling happy that they were both back together.
"Welcome home, Shaddie," Amy said happily as she closed the door.
"Welcome back, you came home early," Cream greeted them as she walked out of the living room.
"How were the twins?" Amy asked.
"They were fine. They were asleep most of the time, but you just missed your friend," Cream informed them.
"What friend?" Amy asked in a confused tone.
"Your friend, Chloe," Cream said as she was also starting to get confused.
"I don't know anybody named Chloe," Amy said.
"Well, she was just here. She said that she had something for the twins," Cream claimed.
"Oh my God, where are the twins?" Amy asked in a panicked tone as she run to the twins' room.
"They're in their crib," Cream pleaded as she was starting to panic.
"Somebody was inside the house?" Shadow asked as he was starting to panic as well.
"Yeah," Cream said.
"How long were they here?" Shadow asked as ran up the stairs.
"Just a few minutes, what's going on," Cream explained as she followed Shadow up the stairs. Amy ran into her children's room, only to find them missing. "She took my babies," Amy shouted in a panic.
"Tell me what happened, Cream?" Shadow asked.
"She said that had something for twins and then she left," Cream explained.
"The twins are not in their room. Call 9-1-1!" Shadow yelled as he ran down stairs. Cream quickly dialed 9-1-1.
"Axel, Hamoti," Amy yelled as she looked in every room. Shadow started to look for his children downstairs before running outside to the yard and began calling out their names hoping that nothing bad has happened to them.
Then, he gets into his car and turns it on, but when he turns around he sees both the twins in their car seats. They both appeared to be fine, but they both had lipstick stains on their foreheads. At the hospital, the doctor tells them that the twins appear to be fine, but they have to wait until the blood tests are done.
They both thank the doctor and he leaves. Then, Shadow and Amy see Espio waiting for them.
"How are they?" Espio asked in a concern tone.
"The doctor says they're fine," Shadow answered.
"Well, I'm not fine. She was in our home, and now our children are in a hospital bed. How did she even know that we were gone," Amy said.
"Well, she obviously was watching your house," Espio explained.
"We need you to find her," Amy pleaded.
"I will do everything in my power to find her," Espio reassured them.
"Well you better do something about this woman, or I will," Amy stated as she walked back to her children.
"So what do I do now? Buy a gun?" Shadow asked.
"Don't worry we have a unit tracking her down. In the meantime, I think it's best if you beef up your security system," Espio exclaimed.
"She could have hurt my children. My children," Shadow said angrily as he walked toward Amy and their children. Later, the twins were allowed to go home. Shadow and Amy walk into their home and put their children into their cribs, but they start to cry.
After finally calming them and putting them to sleep, the couple walks into their bedroom, but they are shocked when they see that it was trashed. Shadow quickly gets Espio on the phone, while Amy finds one of the family's pictures on the ground. She picks it up and notices that her picture was ripped out. She realized that this was getting personal.
The next day
Amy tries to call Penny, but she gets sent to voicemail. "You listen to me, you know who this is. You came into my house, you touched my children, and you think you're crazy? I'll show you crazy, just try me bitch," Amy said as she hanged up.
She turned around to see Shadow standing there. Then, a red hedgehog said to them, "The system is all set up. Are you ready for me to show how it works?"
"Definitely," Amy said.
"Okay, you just punch in your code. This is the panic button. Push it and the police will be at your door. There is also one in your master bedroom," the hedgehog explained while showing them. After getting their security system upgraded, Shadow and Amy were on the lookout for Penny. They both couldn't help, but feel scared for their safety.
One month later
It's been a month and Penny was nowhere to be found. Shadow and Amy were getting ready to visit Amy's parents to celebrate her parents' anniversary. "So when are you leaving?" Shadow asked, since he was leaving tomorrow morning.
"This afternoon after I pick up the twins from my sister's house," Amy replied.
"Okay, be safe. Don't forget to set up the alarm. See you tomorrow," Shadow said as he walked out the door.
"Don't worry, I will. See tomorrow," Amy said as Shadow left.
Later that afternoon, Sonic got a phone call, "Hello, Shadow's office."
"Hi Sonic," Penny greeted.
"Penny, oh my God it's been like forever. Like five months," Sonic said.
"I know, we've got a lot of gossip to talk about," Penny proclaimed.
"Well, I'm not supposed to talk to you. I could get fired," Sonic whispered.
"Don't worry, you won't get fired," Penny assured.
"What do you mean?" Sonic asked.
"Shadow didn't tell you that he's leaving Amy and they're getting divorced," Penny explained.
"That's not going to happen, Penny," Sonic argued.
"Come on Sonic, I know what I'm talking about," Penny responded.
"Oh yeah then why are they heading down to Temecula to celebrate Amy's parents' anniversary," Sonic countered.
"Shadow's not going," Penny stated.
"Yes, he is. He leaves in the morning and Amy's leaving this afternoon," Sonic stated.
"I have to go, Sonic," Penny said.
"But you just called," Sonic said, but Penny hangs up. Then, it reveals that she was watching Shadow and Amy's house this whole time. She was waiting for Amy to leave.
