ML54: Hey guys, me here bring you a new episode of Equestrian Dead!
Spike: *Rolls eyes* Great, let's see how well this goes.
ML54: I don't own MLP, and gore warning! Also, now that I'm continuing the story from the third person from now on, I should let you know that thoughts are in italics while shouting is in speech-marks and italics!
Going Wrong
Seven Weeks After the Fall of Ponyville
No-one's POV
Sweet Apple Acres
Mac and Rainbow, saddled up with medicine and such from the Pharmacy, were making their way back. Their eyes keeping on the tree lines to their sides, afraid of something popping out and attacking.
They glanced to each other for a brief second, only to quickly glance away, blushing brightly. After their...ahem 'relations' in the Pharmacy, they've been a little jittery and nervous. Mainly because Rainbow admitted to having feelings for Mac, only Mac never replied whether or not he actually reciprocated.
"So..." Rainbow started, after making sure nothing would jump out at her. Mac turned to her. "Uh...About what...I mean. Uh, it's just."
Mac tilted his head to the side, before piquing up. "Did you not mean what ya said?"
"No! I did, I did!" Rainbow hurriedly corrected, feeling her cheeks burn even harder. "It's just...well...what do you feel?" Mac blinked, and turned up ahead to think about it.
"Well..." He started, causing Rainbow to flinch. "Ah...Ah don't really know. Ah mean Ah do like you, a lot, but Ah don't think Ah'm quite over Pinkie just yet. Ah mean...It's been a week."
"...Is that all it's been?" Rainbow let out, amazed. "It...It feels like it's been longer...A lot longer."
"Eeyup," Mac agreed, apparently finished. Rainbow cringed and sighed, kind of depressed.
Ah c'mon, cheer up! He did say he likes you! You just need to wait until he gets over Pinkie, She thought to herself, letting a small smile on her face. And since you're not going to go into heat, now, you can spend some more time with him!
Rainbow soon smiled to herself before her thoughts caught up with her and her yes widened in horror. Wait a minute! Why am I thinking like Rarity all of a sudden?! I'm Rainbow Dash, who cares if he doesn't like me like that! I don't need some guy to be happy!
"We're back," Mac said, causing Rainbow to snap out of her thoughts and look up, noticing the Doctor waving to them.
"Oh, hi guys," The Doctor said to them, noticeably unenthusiastic, motioning for the pony opposite to raise the gate. Soarin nodded and pulled the rope, allowing the two access to the farm.
"What happen-" Mac started, before he saw several bodies littered across the ground. "Where did...?"
Soarin sighed and pointed up, causing the two to look up and see clouds flowing past. "The Floaters, we forgot all about them when building the wall and they just started falling all around us," He explained, noticing the one next to him flinch and stomped on it's forehead as hard as he could, causing it to fall still. "They didn't land on anyone, luckily, and they mostly broke all their legs and such when they hit the ground, but I still don't like having them around."
Mac sighed and took his knife out, turning to Rainbow. "Do ya mind takin' tha medicine ta Fluttershy, Ah'm gonna help clean up."
"No problem, Mac Attack!" Rainbow saluted, using her wing to grab his saddlebags and trotting off towards the barn. Mac followed her with his eyes, smiling fondly.
Soarin noticed this and grinned, punching him in the shoulder. "So you got some, dude, good for you!" Mac's eyes widened in response, turning to him, causing him to laugh. "Don't act so surprised, I can see the way you're looking at her."
Mac blushed and gave Soarin a glare, walking next to him to help with the pancake zombies.
"Aw, c'mon! I just wanna squish one!" Rumble complained to Applebloom, who stood in front of her classmates, in front of the farmhouse front door.
"No Rumble, let them handle this," She replied, narrowing her eye when it looked like he was going to continue arguing. "Do ya have some sort of death wish? You don't even have a weapon."
"So? All the grown ups are just stamping on them!"
"Rumble!" Featherweight intervened, pulling the grey Pegasus away, grinning sheepishly at Applebloom. "Sorry Applebloom, I'll get him out of your mane."
And with that, the spindly, white Pegasus colt dragged Rumble away, much to Applebloom's relief. That was when her stomach growled, wildly, at her. Aw c'mon! Ah ate ten minutes ago!
She tapped her hoof, trying to think of something to take her mind off of it. Like her date with Spike tonight, her shooting practice with Derpy this morning and the helpful tips she gave or that she might be...
No! Don't be silly! That's not possible! She thought to herself before a quick knock at the door snapped her out of it and she opened to find Rainbow, who quickly gave her an item and nodded, leaving.
Applebloom closed the door and sighed. Moment of truth...
"Button!" She called, noticing the brown colt moving to get a drink. Button blinked, confused as to why Applebloom would be talking to him, and moved over to her.
"Um...Yes Applebloom?"
"Ah need ya ta do me a favour," She stated. Button nodded, hoping to get back in her good books. "Ah need ya ta guard tha door while Ah go ta tha bathroom."
Button saluted, comically, and moved to take her place. "You can count on me," He said as she left, however, he stopped her. "Wait! Who's guarding the back door?"
Applebloom opened her mouth to answer before she paused, her eyes widening in terror. No-one!
Applebloom looked over at Button and cursed under her breath, rushing and noticing that Dinky, Sweetie Belle, Pipsqueak, Scootaloo, Featherweight and Spike were present...
...Rumble was not.
"Where's Rumble?!" Applebloom demanded, causing everyone to look up and turn around, noticing his disappearance. "Ah was afraid of that."
Well, what do Ah do now?! Ah hafta check cause, if it's true, Ah can't trust myself not ta shoot Rumble mahself fer being so stupid, but Ah can't just leave him out there! Applebloom took out her knife and gave it to Button, pointing at Spike.
"Button, Spike, go look fer him! If ya see an adult, let them know what's going on!" She ordered, rushing back to the bathroom. "The rest of us'll stay here in case he comes back and Ah really need ta go ta tha bathroom!"
"Yes ma'am!" Button saluted, turning to Sweetie Belle, apologetically. "Uh...We'll talk later, okay?"
She smiled at him, waving to the door. "Just follow your orders, Private Mash," She teased him as he picked up the knife with his mouth, following Spike out of the door.
Rumble frowned as he looked over all the zombies lying everywhere. Jeez, Applebloom thought I was going to get hurt by these lazy guys? They aren't even moving!
He was moving in the enclosed orchard, most of the trees bare of fruit, trying to find a zombie that was still alive to finish off. She probably just wanted to be the only one to have taken one out! Yeah, she just wants to brag.
He grinned when he found one, it's jaw opening and closing, uselessly, hoping that someone'll be stupid enough to just put their hoof in it's mouth for it. There's one! Okay, time to show it who's boss!
He approached and stood before the thing, causing it to weakly look up at him, pulling his hoof back to throw a punch.
However, just as he was about to do so, something fell out of a tree behind him causing him to flip around in panic, letting out a quick sigh of relief when it was a quite dead, the branch stuck right between it's eyes being a good indicator of this.
He, however, felt a sharp pain shoot up the back of his left, hind-leg and turn in horror, to see the one he was about to kill, clamping it's jaw around his leg. "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"
"Aright guys! Keep together and only get the essentials!" Flash ordered the other three, causing them to nod. "Let's move!"
On his go, the four quickly, and quietly, entered Barnyard Bargains, making sure to keep a look out for anything they might need. "Guys, toilet paper and soap is this way," Thunderlane mentioned, pointing towards the left. Blitzkrieg pointing to the right.
"Fuel, however, iz zhis way," He answered back. Flash sighed.
"We should prioritize the toiletries since, you know, we can eat apples raw," Flash ordered, nodding towards the left. "We can always double back and get the fuel too, now let's move!"
The four crouched and, carefully, made their way through the isles, trying their hardest to ignore the blood streaks, the random limbs and mutilated corpses littered throughout the store and the retched smell that permeated in the air.
They saw a Trotter limping out of, what they assumed, was the managers office, and Ditzy pushed past them to get in front, pulled the drawstring of her bow back and let an arrow fly, nailing the Trotter in the chest and pinning it to the wall behind it. "You missed."
"Yeah, but it's still not going to bothering us," Ditzy grinned, crawling towards it and stabbing it with her knife. "There, happy now?"
"Pretty much," Thunderlane replied, moving next to her, clearing a shelf of soap and putting it into his saddlebags. "I got the soa..." He suddenly felt a shudder run through him, as if he felt something really bad had happened.
Blitzkrieg noticed this and placed a hoof on his shoulder while Flash and Ditzy got the paper and other things like shampoo and stuff. "Are you okay mein friend?"
"Huh?" He said, before shaking out of it. "Uh yeah, I'm fine. I just...feel like something bad happened..."
"I'm sure it waz all in your head," Blitzkrieg reassured him, smiling. Thunderlane gave his own, uneasy one back.
"Yeah...I hope you're right," He said, shaking out of it and getting back to the soap.
"Rumble!" Spike yelled out, stopping when he found the poor colt, his leg getting bitten and his flesh getting ripped off the bone. "No..."
"Get the buck off of him!" Button screamed, his pupils narrowing and he gave off low, feral growls as he rushed, pulled the Floater's head back and started to repeatedly stab into it, it's blood flying in every direction.
Rumble fell forward, blood spraying out of leg as a vein was cut open. Spike ran forward and clutched his claws around it, turning back towards where the rest of the group were. "Guys! We need help! Guys!"
The little colt took sharp, staggering breaths, having been getting his leg bitten for a few minutes before the two had found him. He chuckled, his blood running a little low. "I...I-I guess...Applebloom was right."
"Don't talk, Rumble, you'll be okay," Spike said as soothingly as he could, before he got back to yelling. "GUYS!"
Meanwhile, Button continued to stab into the, very much dead, zombie. This is for Rumble! This is for my mom! This is for my dad! This is for my brother! This is because I don't like you! This is for turning me into a crazy pony! This is for making me hurt Sweetie Belle! DIIIIIIE!
After he finished his little rant in his head, he finally let go of the pony, noticing that he was completely covered in blood. He looked at his hooves, the red, viscous liquid running down them and teared up. They...They're all dead...My whole family is dead...
Rumble let out one final breath before his head fell limp, his eyes closing of their own accord. "Rumble! C'mon Rumble, don't do this!" Spike panicked, picking the colt up, noticing how much colder he felt to the touch. "R-Rumble..."
"Get away from him Spike..." Button said, emotionlessly, picking the knife up again. "You know what's going to happen."
Spike looked up at him, before feeling Rumble's neck for a pulse...He found none. "I...I..."
"Spike. We can't let him become one of those things," Button told him, pulling Spike away. When the dragon looked up, he finally noticed the streams of tears, clearing a path in the blood down his cheeks. "He...He's my best friend, Spike, I can't let him become a monster..."
Spike was about to argue before he looked towards the path and saw that no-one was coming. So the little dragon relented, letting the Earth Pony walk up to the...corpse.
Button sighed, sitting in front of the Pegasus, lifting the knife. "I'm sorry, Rumble...I'm sorry we couldn't save you," He said, miserably, before he threw the knife down, it stabbing right through the top of his cranium, destroying the brain before it was reanimated.
After that was done, Button passed the knife back to Spike, picking his friend up and hugging him as tightly as he cold, Button's tears falling silently. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry...I'm sorry..."
Spike looked down, not wanting to interrupt Button from his grief, and paid his own respects, though silently.
Please, Great Creator, accept this soul to be blessed in eternal harmony...
Applebloom stared at the little stick in her hoof, unable to take her eyes off of it, unable to blink, unable to even breathe. For, in her hoof, was a pregnancy test...
...A positive pregnancy test.
Her hoof, slowly, moved to he abdomen, tears reaching her eyes as she thought about what this meant for everything here. They were hardly equipped to deal with a pregnancy right now, by Tartarus they aren't even equipped to handle a broken leg!
Plus Pumpkin and Pound Cake were hard enough to look after, without having to deal with a newborn! They were louder, they required more attention, they needed shots and, not only that, but with who the father was, there's no telling how it'll turn out. Would it be a dragon, a pony or a mix between the two? She was hoping for one of the former two, since it'd be easier to provide for, but if it was a mix, how was she supposed to know what traits he/she'd get and hen they'd become a factor in it's life cycle.
But, most importantly, what kind of pony would bring a new born baby into a world like this?
So there was nothing Applebloom could do but place her head into her hooves and cry.
Applebloom: ...Well this chapter was...Dark.
ML54: *Rolls eyes* It's a zombie apocolypse, things like this would happen and actions do have consequences.
Scootaloo: But...You killed off Rumble...That's just...
ML54: Gonna cause conflict? Yeah.
Spike: ...You wanted this to happen, didn't you?
ML54: Who wrote it?
Spike: *Sighs* Read and review, please.
