AN: YOU GUYS! I watched the Boruto movie and I almost cried! Not even kidding. I mean, I started watching/reading Naruto back when I was barely 13-14 (I think) so to see them all grown-up and with kids, I felt like a proud momma *tear*tear*. I'm 27 now soooo you do the math. Not going to lie, I'm still not into the Sasuke/Sakura pairing (because I mean, c'mon, this man spent almost like, 15 years genuinely wanting absolutely nothing to do with her and then, because of a letter, BAM! They make a baby) but seeing him as a daddy, well, I went all dawww3 oh, and he smiled. Several times! He even made funnies. If only he hadn't been such an asshole most of his life *sigh* without further ado, let's get to fanfictioning! :*
Down With the Sickness.
That night was not fun.
We ended up having to leave without even touching our food. Kako took care of paying the bill and putting our food in to-go containers while I was in the restroom puking my guts out. Even the thought of the smell of the ramen made me shiver and heave with renewed vigor.
Yeah, not fun.
Kako decided to spend the night as my self-appointed nurse. She insisted that I eat something because "not eating will only get you sicker," but the thought of food made me queasy. I began to feel better not long after we got home and I didn't want to tempt fate by having something to eat, even if my stomach was growling for food. Hearing this, Kako decided that a bit of miso would help and I was given the lovely option of eating it on my own, or having her shove it down my throat. I decided on the former, I was feeling better anyways.
Thankfully, the miso didn't seem to upset my stomach and I was able to finish the small bowl I was given. Giving the bowl back to Kako, she nodded with satisfaction once she saw it was empty.
"Thank you, mommy." I told her as I gave a small combination of a snort and a laugh.
"You're welcome. Now go brush your teeth and head straight to bed," she said trying to shoo me away.
"Kako, it's barely past seven. The sun's still out for another hour, hour and a half." Cue the deadpan look.
"Yeah, that may be a bit overkill," she said rubbing her chin slightly. "Are you feeling better? You really didn't look good back there," she stated looking at me worriedly.
"Yeah, thanks for the miso by the way. I'm feeling a lot better. Not sure what that was about, I was feeling fine and then, boom! Just like that," I snapped my fingers for emphasis. "I don't think I ate anything that would make me sick and I'm honestly feeling fine now."
"Maybe it's one of those 24 hour bugs people get?" Kako said questioningly.
"Maybe. Although those were the shortest 24 hours ever." I said laughing lightly. Kako reached over and touched my forehead with her hand.
"You don't have a fever so maybe your body was able to fight it off right away?"
"Do you even know how to tell if someone has a fever with your hand?" I told her laughing at her. At this, she got a little red.
"I do too! Ugh, if you're going to start being an ass then you're fine. Let's watch some TV but do me a favor? If you feel like puking again, make sure you give yourself enough time to at least look the other way. I don't want to be covered with stomach acid and half digested miso." She said as she reached for the controller and picked a movie to watch.
"I make no promises." Was my response as I got comfortable on the couch.
And that was how we spent our evening, watching chick flicks and chatting from time to time about which actors we would marry if we could and who's make up was on point.
The next day, I got ready to go to work and was heating up the ramen from the night before, when I felt another bout of sickness coming on. Needless to say, I ended up having to call in sick (yes, we also have phones now. Our library kicks ass).
I ended up only eating miso for the next three days as Kako worriedly took care of me, making sure I had enough miso soup to last for weeks and to make sure I didn't somehow end up literally puking my guts out.
I still couldn't figure out what I had eaten to make me so sick but dammit, it was kicking my butt.
I was also not too sure I was ever going to be able to look at ramen the same again.
That hurt the most.
AN: Shout out to everyone who has review! You guys should know that you're amazing and you make my heart go *thump*thump*thump* sorry I haven't responded to your reviews yet but rest assured I will! Thank you to a very special little person who gave me the most amazing idea for the next couple of chapters, you are a doll! and if you're a guy and don't want to be a doll, then you're a transformer! *ducks* I know the chapter is pretty short, but there's nothing much going on right now other than Nana being sick all the time. Things will get more interesting as time passes. No Sasuke today, but he's lurking. Maybe he'll be nice and give us one of his pretty little smiles once he finds out what's going on (HA! Yeah right!). Please let me know if there's anything I can improve on, whether it's grammar, story or writing style. Any type of criticism is welcomed. Shout out to my lurkers as well, I know you guys are shy and that's why you may not review but don't worry, I appreciate you. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I will see you next time! :*
