We got shook quite a bit before getting dumped on the ground. I rolled and ended up sitting up, feeling sick and dizzy. I gazed up at the three large monsters and gulped. Fear took over me, immobilizing me.
"What are you then?" the troll behind me demanded. "An oversized squirrel?"
"The girl is human," the final troll added.
"I'm a burglar—uhh Hobbit," Bilbo stammered, trying to act brave.
I pushed myself up and brushed dirt off my behind.
"A Burgla-Hobbit?" the one who picked us up asked.
"Can we cook 'im?" the troll behind me asked excitedly.
"We can try!" the one who picked us up agreed. "An' we can definitely cook the girl!"
I gulped again. The thought of getting eaten terrified the hell out of me. I just prayed they would kill me first before cooking me. God, imagine the agony of being slowly cooked or boiled, I thought. I could feel myself begin to tremble. The troll that originally grabbed us went for Bilbo. Bilbo was quick and managed to dodge out the way. I wasn't quick enough and got snatched up. I let out a cry as my feet left the ground. I looked down and saw the ground was very far away.
"RUN!" I yelled, wriggling in the troll's hold.
Bilbo eventually got cornered by one of the trolls. He looked terrified and tinier than ever.
"He wouldn't make more than a mouthful," one of them pointed out. "Not when he's skinned and boned!"
"Perhaps there's more Burglar-Hobbits around these parts!" another troll gabbled excitedly. "Might be enough for a pie,"
Oh my god. I don't want to die this way, I screamed in my head. I began wriggling more than ever. The troll holding me had to tighten his grip around me. I looked down at the leathery hand with a thought. He smelt disgusting.
"Grab him!" the first one cried.
"He's too quick!" the one holding me cried.
The trolls launched down at Bilbo. It was madness in which I suffered severally. I got shook and battered about until I felt my motion sickness sink in. I choked back the soup threatening to come back up. One of the trolls smacked another with a ladle as he attempted to hit Bilbo. Bilbo was nimble but not nimble enough. After a manic scramble, Bilbo eventually got snatched up by the legs and was held upside down.
"Come here you little… gotcha!" the troll cried as he caught Bilbo. "Are there any more of you little fellas 'iding where you shouldn't?"
"Nope," Bilbo said, looking ill.
"He's lying," accused the one holding me.
"No he isn't!" I cried.
"No I'm not!" Bilbo protested at the same time.
"Hold his toes over the fire!" the one holding me demanded. "Make him squeal!"
Out of the bushes behind me, Kili came charging. His sword cut into the troll holding my leg. I was flung out of the way as the troll went down with a howl. I crashed into the bushes as dwarves came running towards me.
"Drop him!" Kili yelled.
I scrambled up and crawled out of the bush. My body ached all over.
"You what?" the troll holding Bilbo asked.
"I said, drop him!" Kili growled.
He looked rather hot holding that sword and demanding Bilbo's release. The troll flung Bilbo at Kili. Bilbo crashed into Kili, knocking them both down. As the rest of the company burst past me, I rant with them. Whilst they hacked and slashed at the Trolls, I raced to Bilbo and Kili. I pulled them both up and Kili joined the fight. I motion to the knife lying near the pen. Bilbo and I dodged past the trolls to the pen where the ponies were being kept. Together we managed to cut the ropes free. The Ponies fled the battle scene, neighing as they went. One of the trolls caught us and went to grab Bilbo.
"NO!" I yelled, shoving Bilbo out the way.
I got snatched up and next thing I knew, I was being held by an arm in each trolls hand. They pulled at my limbs until I grunted in pain. The dwarves caught sight of me suspended in the arms of the trolls. The fighting ceased at once and they all gathered together. Bilbo slipped in amongst them.
"Rosalie!" Kili yelled.
"NO!" Thorin cried commandingly.
"Lay down your arms or we'll rip hers off!" the one who snatched me up ordered.
Thorin gave me a look of frustration. Kili looked at his uncle with desperation. I could see the fight burning in his eyes. He didn't want me dead but he didn't want to stop fighting. Thorin stabbed his sword into the ground after a moment of painful hesitation. The others followed suit. I felt bad but relieved at the same time.
Next thing I know, we're all tied up and several of the dwarves were tied to a spit over the roaring fire. Those poor dwarves happened to be Dwalin, Bofur, Dori, Ori and Nori. I lay half buried by Fili with Kili's hair up my nose. It smelt like nature, was greasy and tickled. I was surrounded by squirming dwarves, all trying desperately to get out before being eating.
"Don't bother cooking them!" complained a troll. "Let's just sit on them and squash them into jelly,"
I had quite lost track of which troll was which after all the commotion. They could be any of them but all three were still there, alive and still wanting to eat us.
"They should be sautéed and grilled with a sprinkle of sage," another troll suggested dreamily.
"Is this really necessary?" Dori complained, looking quite uncomfortable.
It was painful to watch them being slowly turned on the spit, slowly being roasted. Although I fail to see how that's going to get them cooked quickly.
"Ooh, that does sound quite nice!" the first troll agreed.
"Untie us, you monsters!" Oin demanded, squirming around.
"Take on someone your own size!" Gloin grumbled loudly.
Everyone was talking loudly and making noises of fear. I wriggled around, trying to loosen the knot around my neck but it was too tight. It was tight to the point where I could feel it slowly choking me to death.
"Never mind the seasoning; we ain't got all night!" the third troll snapped. "Dawn ain't far away so let's get a move on. I don't fancy being turned to stone,"
Then keep roasting them slowly and painfully on that spit, I thought to myself. I caught Bilbo's expression and blinked in surprise. He looked like he was forming an idea.
"Wait!" Bilbo called. "You are making a terrible mistake!"
"You can't reason with them, they're half-wits!" Dori grumbled.
"Half-wits?" Bofur asked. "What does that make us?"
I couldn't help but giggle at that. Although he did have a point. Bilbo ignored them and wriggled to his feet. He turned to face the trolls.
