Hey guys solid one day off before I STARTED this chapter. As always thanks for the continued fav's, follows, and reviews. I hope that you guys have liked the story so far because coming up shit is about to start getting real. We will begin to see more of the Bijuu, and questions regarding them and the Creatures of Grimm that I kinda left hanging before I going to come more into play. Again I warn that this fic is totally entering into uncharted territory as I begin to mold the two verses to truly fit where I want the story to go. In regards to Neo and Raven. Sue me I am a Baked Alaska (NeoxYang) Shipper hardcore but since that's out the window because of Hadrian, I went with the next best thing. With Raven that'll be explained more in story but yes my guess is that she is Yang's Aunt. So for this story I am making her that. I cannot wait to get these next few chapters out. Rising Tides: Chapter 11

Hadrian and his team had left on their mission. It was supposed to be a small Grimm infestation to the north of Vale. Upon their arrival however Team HLCN soon realized that the size of the nest had been severely understated. His team had arrived at their destination a day ahead of schedule. When they arrived however they found the small village asking for help completely over run. Mangled bodies lay strewn about the streets. It hadn't taken them long to find the center of the village where the survivors had bunkered down.

"They only sent one team?" The leader of the group asked Hadrian as his team approached them.

"Your report said that there was a small infestation. Professor Ozpin decided based on what you said that only one reactionary team would be sufficient." Hadrian explained causing the man to pale slightly. "I assume that the situation has changed since your original report?" Hadrian asked causing the man to nod his head.

"We were attacked at first by a rather large pack of beowolves, but that was nothing for our normal defenses to handle." The man said as Hadrian reached into his duster to pull out his pipe. Reaching deeper into the pocket that he kept it in he instead pulled out a note. He read the note with a scowl.

'You shouldn't smoke it's bad for you.

Oh that girl was going to pay for robbing him of his tobacco. The older man continued to explain how after the first pack of beowolves had been pushed back more and more grimm began to attack them. It didn't take long before the numbers of grimm started to force them back into the city. Any time it looked like the grimm were finally subsiding people would venture out only to be slaughtered by even more grimm who appeared in their place.

"We estimate that there are only maybe 30 people left alive at this point, and only maybe ten to twelve of us are able to fight." The leader of the survivors explained to team HLCN.

"Well from this point on no one goes outside the designated safe zone." Hadrian said to the man as he began to formulate a plan to save the few remaining people. "We establish a firm perimeter, and I'll need to call in to Professor Ozpin for back up. We cannot afford to lose more people so until more help arrives our focus is solely on defense. The older man nodded knowing that fighting in general was not something he was ever actually trained for. Even though this hunter seemed to be half his age he would provide far better leadership.

"Hadrian we'll look around the safe zone to find any major weak points where we can be infiltrated." Lucas said as Cassius came to stand next to him. Hadrian simply nodded as the two jumped away.

"Nerama head to the center with this man and muster everyone who is able to lift a weapon." Nerama simply nodded his head and followed the man away. Hadrian stood looking out the entrance of the camp as a group of fifteen beowolves came into view. He unsheathed Anduril. The huntsman in training brought the blade so that it was level with one of the larger beowolves in the pack. He squeezed the trigger, sending a round off blowing the creatures head into chunks. As the leader of their pack fell backwards and began to dissolve, the smaller ones howled as they backed away. "That's right you monsters back away." Hadrian muttered to himself as the monsters retreated back into the surrounding trees.

BREAK

Naruto opened his eyes inside his mindscape to see Kurama standing in front of him. Naruto nodded his head and smiled at the fox, earning a grin in return.

"So Kurama are you coming with me when I go to this Vale place?" Naruto asked causing the bijuu to nod.

"Of course I am brat. I don't trust that Uchiha to keep you safe." Kurama answered back, causing Naruto to frown.

"You're sure it has nothing to do with the creatures that attacked Isobu?" Naruto asked.

"Of course they're part of it, but I don't trust him." Kurama explained remembering back to when the mysterious creatures had attacked his water dwelling brother.

"How Come they could hurt him? Naruto asked looking up at Kurama.

"I don't know kid. There's a whole lot of world out there. Although if it was really the Six Paths-Jiji who sealed us in here I can't help but think those things are what he was trying to protect us from." Kurama explained as he thought out loud. Naruto simply nodded. If there were things that could harm the bijuu, then there was no telling what else might be out there.

"So if you're coming along that mean's you're gonna have to spend most of your time inside the seal, you know that right?" Naruto smirked up at the giant fox. "We're going as ambassadors. I doubt a dozen or so story tall demon fox would be the best thing to tote around." Naruto said ending in a chuckle.

"Who knows, that just might be the kind of bargaining chip you need." Kurama said with a smirk of his own. "Now get out of here your cat friend is coming." Kurama said as he moved to flick Naruto in the face. Naruto laughed as he caught the clawed finger, only for Kurama's other hand to appear and flick him anyway.

"GAH DAMMIT!" Naruto exclaimed as he fell backwards off the couch he had been sitting on.

"Your fox buddy get rid of you again?" Cheren said as he walked out of the kitchen with a plate full of food.

"Stupid fox surprised me, thats all." Naruto grumbled as he heard Kurama chuckling. The fox began to enter back into the seal meaning that the mental connection the two had would be coming back to it's full strength. After the war Hagoromo had asked that Kurama stay with Naruto, which the fox was not opposed to no matter how he acted. Naruto had then reworked the seal so that Kurama could come and go in and out of the seal as he pleased. While normally fatal having a bijuu extracted, Naruto had figured a way around this in how he tweaked the seal. Naruto only kept a small portion of the foxes chakra truly sealed. This small bit acted as a conduit for the rest of the beasts power, allowing Kurama to form outside the seal. Whenever he wanted to he could simply meet back up with the portion of chakra inside Naruto without harming the blonde.

"So when do I get to meet this Kurama?" Cheren asked wondering exactly how this demon fox would appear.

"Well if you wanna go to a training ground I can bring him out." Naruto said before Kurama began to yell inside his head.

'Screw off brat I am not some sideshow.' The fox roared causing Naruto to grin.

'Aw come on Kurama you know you need some new friends' Naruto thought back snickering to himself as the fox humphed and fell silent.

"Earth to Naruto." Cheren said snapping his fingers in Naruto's face. "You were doing that weird zoning out thing again." Cheren said looking down at Naruto. The blonde looked up at his cat eared friend.

"Sorry, the fuzzball was complaining about something. Anyways wanna train?" Naruto asked with an excited look causing Cheren to face fault slightly.

"I just got my food." He said looking down at the tuna sandwich he had prepared for himself. "I would prefer to eat it now." He explained as he sat down and proceeded to lift the sandwich to his mouth.

"But if you eat it'll make you puke when we train." Naruto said as Cheren took a large bite out of the sandwich.

"Nof nooh." the faunus replied through a mouthful of food, trying to signal that the short debate was settled.

"You're no fun." Naruto said as he jumped up from the floor and began to move towards the kitchen.

"Shut up and eat something." Was all Cheren replied before he took another bite of his sandwich earning a humph from the blonde. As Naruto looked through the fridge for something to eat he heard his door open. Peeking his head up from behind the fridge door he heard Cheren say something, which earned a hn from none other than Sasuke Uchiha. "Yo Sasuke, what's up?" The blonde hollered as he resumed his search for sustenance.

"Naruto you're late." Was all the Uchiha said as he glared in the direction of the kitchen. He heard the fridge close as Naruto appeared at the entrance to the living room with a confused look on his face. "You don't remember do you?" Sasuke asked earning a more confused look from the blonde.

"Remember what?" Naruto asked causing Sasuke to shake his head at his friends denseness.

"You're supposed to confirm with Gaara and Kakashi-sensei about the trip south, It was scheduled for twenty minutes ago." Sasuke reminded the blonde, causing Naruto's eyes to bug out.

"Oh shit I totally forgot that." Naruto yelled as he ran to his bedroom to change out of his shorts and tank top. The two black haired males listened with Cheren chuckling when they heard a thump followed by a few curse words. "Gotta go guys." Naruto yelled as he flew out the door immediately jumping to a nearby rooftop and sprinting towards Hokage tower.

"How do you live with him?" Sasuke asked looking at Cheren. The faunus simply shrugged his shoulders before taking another bite out of his sandwich. Sasuke looked down at the other male before wandering into Naruto's kitchen to make food for himself.

"How did you put up with him?" Cheren asked Sasuke as he appeared with a plate full of rice balls, taking a seat on the couch opposite from Cheren. The two sat and ate in an amiable silence until both had finished everything on their plates.

"I dunno, I just kinda ignored him most of the time." Sasuke said as he wiped his face before reaching for the T.V. remote and flipping it on.

"Well then I suppose we both have the same approach, because that's what I do now." Cheren replied causing Sasuke to smirk. "So tell me Sasuke-kuuuun, when're you going to select someone from your throngs of fangirls and settle down?" Cheren asked with a smirk on his own face as Sasuke's eyebrow began to twitch at the jokingly girly use of the honorific.

"Hn."

"Oh come on don't be like that Sasuke-kuuuun." Cheren had now stood with his hands locked under his chin, and was batting his eyelashes at Sasuke. The Uchiha simply kept his eyes shut although the twitching became noticeably worse. "Oh Sasuke-kuuuuun please pick me to be your cock sleeve, I mean wifey." Cheren finished laughing as Sasuke sprung to his feet.

"That's it you die litter box." Sasuke yelled lunging at the faunus only to faze right through him.

"Gonna have to do better than that since I don't want you to put it in me Sasuke-kuuuuun." Cheren remarked from his position in the street outside Naruto's apartment, before jumping to the rooftops and taking off.

"Gonna kill him." Sasuke yelled as he took off after Cheren. The Uchiha closed his eyes momentarily before opening them to reveal his mangekyou in one eye and the rinnegan in the other. After a moment to build up the chakra Sasuke flashed forward appearing directly in front of Cheren with his sword drawn. "Well hello litter box." Sasuke said before he lunged at Cheren.

"I don't suppose we can talk about this huh?" Cheren said as he stepped back from Sasuke. The Uchiha swiped at him causing Cheren to duck under the blade. "Nope, guess not."

Meanwhile in the Hokage's office Naruto stood to the side of the desk that Kakashi sat behind. Also in the room was Shikamaru, Shizune, & Sakura. They all looked at a screen the showed Gaara, as well as his siblings Temari, Kankuro, and his assistant Matsuri.

"So Hokage-dono, are you certain you do not wish to join us?" Gaara asked his hands folded in front of his face.

"Hai Kazekage-dono, due to the recent taking of office I feel that it would be best if I remained in the village. That is the reason I will be sending the Hokage elect to take my place." Kakashi said motioning to Naruto who simply smiled. "I trust that won't be a problem?" Kakashi asked causing Gaara to shake his head.

"No I feel that this would be a good learning opportunity for Uzumaki-san." Gaara said before continuing on. "Have you given any thought as to who will be on security detail for you?" Gaara asked which made Naruto's face turn serious.

"Yes Kazekage-sama I will be bringing a four man team as my escorts. These will be Shikamaru Nara, Cheren Belladonna, Captain Yamato, and Sasuke Uchiha." Naruto finished earning a stern glare from Gaara.

"Are you sure it is wise to include him in this Uzumaki-san?" Temari asked from behind her brother.

"Yes, I trust Sasuke with my life. I want to give him the opportunity to work towards forgiveness. Plus he might be able to find it there in a way that he cannot have here." Naruto said explaining his reasoning shocking all those present.

"You want him to stay there?" Gaara asked, seeming even more surprised.

"I don't want him to, but if he can be happy there why not let him be." Naruto said causing everyone in the room to continue to be amazed by the blonde.

BREAK

Hadrian looked at the small group in front of him. The leader of the survivors, a man whose name he learned was Rainier Green had been correct in his assessment of their numbers. Inside the building that had previously served as the city hall huddled 38 people, four of which were the members of team HLCN. They had discussed how best to handle the grimm surrounding them. The decision that was finally reached was to work on staying alive until they could all be extracted. The one ship HLCN had flown in on wouldn't be able to take all of them. Hadrian scowled as he remembered the pilot landing on the roof to allow the children to board the ship so they would be saved. The image of parents crying stirred up images of his own parents, and how they had both met their end in a similar fashion.

"Hadrian one of their spotters says a group of grim are heading towards the building." Lucas said breaking him out of his thoughts. "He said it was a group of roughly twenty." Lucas explained.

"I'll take care of it." Hadrian said drawing Anduril, he began to walk towards the gate.

"What you'll take them by yourself?" Rainier asked causing Hadrian to look back at him lazily.

"Yes I'll take care of it. If I require assistance I'll send up a flare and my team can come help me. I don't need any of you interfering." Hadrian explained before he continued to walk away.

"He'll be back." Lucas said.

"Just let him go, he's obviously annoyed." Cassius added causing both of the twins to nod.

As Hadrian approached the barrier the survivors had erected, he could see the Grimm approaching. His first thought was that the spotter needed his eyes checked. Before him stood no less than 50 grimm of various kind, all looking at Hadrian like a freshly cooked goose. Hadrian vaulted into the air landing with a dull thud in front of the creatures causing them to come to a stop. He raised his sword up bringing the flat of the blade to touch his forehead. As he did this an ursa major let out a roar causing the horde to charge at the huntsman in training. Hadrian leveled his sword as a barrel appeared out of the end. He fired off several shots in quick succession, dropping the unfortunate grimm leading the charge at him. As the monsters finally closed the gap, a particularly large beowolf took a swipe at him. Moving quickly Hadrian took a step back allowing the claw to pass through where he had been just seconds before. He swung his sword up separating the claw from the offending monster, before quickly slashing back down bisecting the beowolf. Seeing their first casualty the grimm charged in with a new zeal.

"Come on you bastards." Hadrian shouted as he began to weave through the creatures parrying slashes, and slicing through grimm after grimm. Continuing his display of swordsmanship Hadrian cut down every grimm that approached him. After beheading an ursa, he again raised his sword looking down the iron sights built into both sides of the pommel he fired off another volley in a short burst. The bullets found their marks as several nevermores fell from the sky adding to the grimms body count. Not stopping to enjoy his marksmanship Hadrian swung the blade around in a wide arc to repel the creatures who had tried to close in on him while he fired. He blocked the strike from a beowolf on his left, before ducking under the paw of an ursa on his left. As he stood back up he lashed out at the beowolf slicing across its midsection, but not killing the creature. The ursa took its opportunity to swing at him again, with similar failed results. Hadrian blocked the claw before he pushed sending the ursa off balance, and to the ground. Hearing the roar from the injured beowolf, Hadrian barely had time to raise his arms so that his sword covered his back before the beowolf took another swipe at him. Pain erupted as the poorly placed block caused the claws of the beowolf to dig into his shoulder. Luckily his aura had stopped any major damage, but the sleeve of his coat was now severed on top and he could feel the blood running down his arm. Had it not been for his aura Hadrian doubted that he would still have his left arm at the moment. pivoting to his right he brought Anduril swinging around to add another cut to the beowolves injured abdomen. This time the creature gave in to its injuries and fell to the ground. Hadrian surveyed the group of grimm still remaining. There were probably two dozen grimm still standing all looking at the huntsman. Hadrian rushed forwards letting out a yell as he swiped at the first grimm within reach. The unfortunate boarbatusk fell forward having tried to jump and roll into a ball, only to lose its two front legs instead. Hadrian spun as he blocked a strike from one ursa before he kicked the hapless boarbatusk into another ursa causing the beast to backpedal. He was forced to turn and block as a second boarbatusk came speeding towards him.

The impact sent Hadrian stumbling as he cursed under his breath. He turned to face where the creature would be attacking from next only to freeze up. Before him stood a new creature. It walked towards him on two legs, it's arms crossed as if it were bored. Bone like plates covered it's knees, elbows, shoulders, and chest. However it looked as though it had the tattered remains of clothing hanging off of its upper body. The remains of a pant leg bunched up at the bottom of one leg, with a claw like foot bursting out of the remnant of a shoe on the opposite foot. The most chilling thing was the clearly visible green hair.

"What are you?" Hadrian asked causing the creature to stop, and tilt it's head to the side. "You understand me don't you?" He asked this time the beast tilted it's head to the other side. It raised it's hand and gestured towards Hadrian with one of its clawed fingers before opening its hand as it gestured to the grimm around it.

"Future." The creature said in a barely understandable voice. It sounded guttural and broken as it spoke again. "We are future." It again motioned towards the grimm around it before coming back to point at Hadrian.

"What do you mean you are future?" Hadrian yelled as he raised his sword preparing to fend off the creature in front of him.

"Live." The creature said as it began to turn away from Hadrian. "Tell" It continued as it turned it's head to look back at him. Red eyes staring through holes in the bone covering it's face. "Fear!" It yelled before jumping into the trees. As it left the grimm that had been attacking also began to turn and leave. Before he knew it Hadrian was left alone as rain started to fall.

"Hadrian!" One of the twins yelled as both of them came running towards their leader. "Hadrian what happened, are you okay?" Lucas asked as he came to a stop. Cassius who arrived seconds later saw their leader staring off into the woods followed his sight trying to find what he was looking at.

"Hadrian what's your deal?" Cassius asked shoving Hadrians shoulder finally jarring him out of his thoughts.

"I need to talk to Ozpin." Hadrian said turning back towards the town as he sheathed Anduril.

"What happened?" Lucas asked again.

"Something bad, something that nightmares are fueled by." Hadrian answered causing the two brothers to stop and look at each other in confusion, before they continued to follow behind their leader.

BREAK

"So one of them finally survived the process eh?" A raspy voice asked as it looked at the security footage of his creation breaking free and fleeing.

"Can they be controlled?" A feminine voice asked from behind him causing the man watching the video to turn and look at her.

"It is still too early in to expect them to be compliant." The man said his pale face twisting into a manic grin as flames erupted in the hands of his associate.

"That is not the answer I was looking for." She said as she took a step forward glaring at him with amber eyes. "I went through quite a bit of trouble to set you up with this lab. I expect beneficial results Orochimaru." She said causing the snake summoner to chuckle.

"Don't try to threaten me Cinder. I only signed up on this so that I could further my research." Orochimaru replied sneering at the woman, his own yellow eyes showing no fear towards the woman. "You will have your army, but patience is necessary if you want the best results." He explained as the flames in Cinder's hands flickered then disappeared.

"I expect progress on my next visit." The woman said before she turned and walked out of the snakes den.

"But Cinder there is always progress if one looks hard enough." He said with a sneer before turning back to the monitor. He watched as another victim was injected with a special serum he had concocted before being subjected to a bite from one of the beowolves he had captive.

I AM SO SORRY for the delay on this chapter. As you can see from the beginning authors note I started this 2 days after posting the last one. Life is a thing though. I should (hopefully) be able to update more frequently. I make no promises however as I do still work full time, and will soon be starting school again. A few quick hints/clarifications

No Raven is not a pedo. she is 27 Neo is 23 in the story, that will be expanded on later.

Sasuke will meet his significant other in the next chapter
