Chapter 11: Memories Within

Tangle, Marine and Annalee arrived at the shore where one of the Water Nation's submarines was docked and unmanned. The girls climbed aboard the sea vessel as Marine began to operate it.

"You sure you know how to work this machine?" Annalee asked the raccoon.

"Not my first time operating a sub, Annalee."

The red panda felt a bit of shock. "You still remember me?"

Tangle sits down looking at Marine. "What happened to you after our battle with Infinite, Marine?"

"Since it'll be some time before we get to the Water Nation, I can tell you what happened."

After I got that Phantom Ruby off of him, I leaped off the Ghost Titan. When I fell, the gem activated one last time opening what looked like some sort of portal. I fell in, but the gem shattered and stayed behind.

When I woke up, I found myself in the Plant Kingdom. Everything was different. I didn't realize it, but I ended up about five years into the past.

Tangle interrupts her. "So that explains why you look and sound older than you were before."

"Yes, but that's not all."

With no memories of who I was and no knowledge of my surroundings, I had to resort to living off the land and mimicking the badgers in the forest. Overtime I ended up becoming Sticks the Jungle Badger.

Annalee looked to Tangle. "It was during her time as Sticks that she came across our kingdom."

"That's right. You and your father took me in like one of your citizens. Taught me a lot about your people and your abilities."

Tangle scratches her chin a bit. "You mean they're ability to move rocks?"

"The earth, more specifically." She takes a few stones out of a pouch she hand and begins to moves them similar to how she moved water.

"That's incredible. You can control water and earth."

Annalee brings the stones to herself. "That's what still puzzles me. According to legend, no one can control more than one of the four kingdom elements."

"Does that legend say anything about someone who can?"

"There is a story of one being that can control all four elements. With that power, this one being can be the bridge between our worlds."

Tangle tilts her head a bit. "That sounds like this show I watched in my dimension when I was nine."

Marine scopes out the area. "Tangle, Annalee,…we've arrived at the Water Nation." She brings the sub up to the underwater city making way for the dock.

The guards at the dock look and notice the submarine coming in hot. The vessel crashes into the dock flooding the area washing away any guards inside. An emergency hatch closes behind them allowing the water to drain from the docking station.

Annalee steps out of the sub looking around for anyone. "All clear." She jumps down as the other girls follow suit.

Tangle looks around at the undersea city. "This is incredible."

Marine uses her power to lift some water putting it into a canteen she brought with her. "Just in case we need it."

"Isn't everyone in this place able to control water though?"

"Maybe, but we can't take any chances."

Annalee points towards the location they took Blaze. "The prison is over this way. It's where they're holding Blaze."

Tangle cracks her knuckles. "Looks like it's time for a break-in." As makes her way in the direction of the prison as Marine and Annalee tag along. What awaited them would be anything but pleasant.
