XLVIII-River Cruse

Solria felt a little nervous around so much water, she had felt the same way flying over the ocean, when she, Koryu and Spyro first headed to Dante's freezer, she felt a little nervous about the water. Ignitus once said the uneasiness was from her ties to her element water put out fire, so it was not only the natural opposite but a natural enemy. It was more than that it was raging fast, if one of them fell off and couldn't get out, chances are they'd be swept away.

"If we keep up this steady pace we should be in Aradia by nightfall." Koz noted bringing her out of her thoughts.

"Is that it?" Sparx asked pointing up to it from Koryu's head. In the distance, was a large pointed tower silhouette with some other buildings under it in the distance, right now they were on a small hill so it was easy to see they dropped a little making them yelp getting them wet.

"Yeah, it's an obvious landmark." Koz muttered grateful he was in his human form.

"I'm glad we didn't make a raft for this." Gea muttered as the rapids rocked the boat a little bit.

"I wish I could change form like Koz!" Sparx whined.

"Don't worry Sparx we'll be fine, unless something attacks us but even then, we'll be fine!" Solria said however they suddenly heard screeching.

Raiciel looked up. "Dreadwings!" he shouted eyes widening in fear.

"They're coming right at us!" Bianca yelped.

"WHY DID YOU SPEEAAAAKKKK?!" Sparx wailed.

"Yeah you just had to say it didn't you sis?" Koryu deadpanned.

Solria merely growled and shot off the boat, unleashing a burst of flame.

Terrador was walking down the halls watching trainies no one really that young, he hated the thought that the only candidates for replacing them as Guardians were Spyro's friends they had been through enough and being a Guardian was a taxing, stressful task, it was a rule that while explainable was very unfair.

He suddenly heard a large rumble instantly he ran towards it his wings almost causing him to take off through instinct. "What happened?!" he demanded.

Cyril and Volteer cough. "It was a malfunction with….cough….one of the dummies Terrador…Cough."

"Look at this!" Volteer stated going forward. "I do believe our malfunctioning training dummy may have found us some unknown Catacombs."

"A secret passage…."Terrador mused. "Let's investigate." He replied walking down it the other two looked at each other before reluctantly following.

The stair case seemed to go for miles however they finally reached a door. It didn't open, however Volteer instantly noticed something about it. "Hmm it would appear that this door requires a certain mechanism to operate and open."

"The doors at the temple would open depending on the element used but each of the elements were paired with a color with this mechanism in mind." Cyril added.

"It's too Dark to see exactly what color they are, let's head back up and ask for assistance without Ignitus we can't get some light in here." Terrador noted a pang of sorrow for the loss of his old friend.

A Fire tornado and Solria had killed off two Dreadwings both had to follow the boat as they raced around at this point the rest of the Dragons had joined in minus Flame who still didn't have much experience with flying however he did a good job helping the others shoot off Dreadwings that got to close.

"Kinzo Ryuto!" Bianca shouted killing off a couple of Dreadwings Hunter managed to snipe three or four and Bentley and Shelia managed to knock several away before Bianca finished them. Bentley had killed one that had steered close to the boat one to many times.

Solria and Koryu unleashed a Fusion fury knocking several back into the sky several died and more flew off in pain.

"They're a whole lot of Dreadwings here!" Raiciel shouted sending a burst of Lightning at a couple electrocuting them.

Kinzo and Gea crashed one into the cliff side the five raced after the boat and landed. "I think that's the last of them." Gea replied as she sat down.

"I don't think we're out of the woods quite yet." Koryu muttered seeing a bunch of archers prepare fire arrows.

"Loverly." Sparx sighed.

FAI FAI FAI

"So you just stumbled onto this hallway you say?" Moleyair asked as he and Exhumor held up torches from Cyril's back at the door. "Hmm this doesn't appear to be one of the four colors for the elements it's in white."

"Wait, I recall that white gems are combined elements!" Cyril replied. "We simply need another fire Dragon to help us open the door."

Later a Fire Dragon named Spiter had been summoned down. "This is weird I've never seen a door like this before."

"They haven't been used since we ourselves were hatchlings." Terrador noted.

"Whoa!" Spiter said the guardians giving him unamused looks. "Sorry," he muttered.

The two combined elements and entered the cave, inside they were instantly greeted by white crystals leading down more stairs. "Thank you to all of you, Spiter you should return to your training." Terrador replied.

"Yes," the fire Dragon replied bowing and leaving as Moleyair and his brother looked towards the stairs. "oooh our kin lined this with a very special kind of spirit gem, something of great value must be beneath the surface." Moleyair muttered.

"We won't know by staying up here." Exhumor replied walking down against his brother's silent protests.

"Shall we?" Volteer asked the other two nodded and headed down the stairs, the crystals seemed to get sharper, as the Dragons went down through the walls beyond the crystals it was clear that some writing was seen when Volteer tried to get a closer look he was suddenly burnt by one of the crystals. "Extraordinary, fascinating, these seem to be some form of security."

"It would obviously be best not to touch the crystals." Terrador muttered as they continued down.

"The writing appears to be some ancient dialect!" Volteer stated as he started to ramble.

Bianca was keeping a barrier up while Hunter, Koz and Raiciel sniped any and all the Rynocs that were trying to snipe them "Bianca how are you holding up?!" Solria asked.

"Trying but not having to deal with monsters would help!" Bianca growled as Solria flew off and started shooting at Snipers with fire breaths from above making many retreat.

"We're sitting ducks on this stupid river- WAH!" Flame shouted as the boat fell breaking Bianca's concentration.

Solria knocked away some more Dread Wings with a Fire tornado Koryu came up behind her freezing several more. "How are we doing?" Solria asked.

"We're doing okay let's just keep up the pace." Koryu stated as they flew out of the way of a Dreadwing.

A storm ahead of them zapped away several more Rhynocs and Dreadwings. Raiciel flew out towards them. "We're getting some water boogies!"

"Of course!" the twins sighed as they raced back towards the ship Raiciel flew ahead zapping a whole bunch of monstrous looking crocodiles Bentley struck on hard in the head when it climbed towards the group on the boat.

"This is getting bad!" Flame stated as he used a Fire bomb on one climbing to the side.

Solria dug her claws into one and throws it at and sniper and both were struck by an arrow by Hunter.

"I'm out of arrows." Hunter growled.

"WHAT, NO YOU CAN'T BE OUT OF ARROWS YOUR OUR SHOOT OTHER PEOPLE BEFORE THEY SHOOT US GUY!" Sparx yelled.

"Arrows only so go so far!" Bianca muttered as she blasted a lightning spell at several Arrow Rhynocs.

"WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" Sparx cried.

"Shut up Sparx!" everyone shouted as they hit a river croc in different ways.

FAI FAI FAI

"RRRRGGGG," Terrador, growled as he pushed open a large door, inside was a small library.

"Well what have we here?" Exhumor asked.

"These appear to be some sort of records," Terrador muttered Volteer pulled out a scroll and looked it over.

"Why these have the same writing as the walls with the Crystals my hypothesis goes even so far as to say that the Spirit gems are Synthetic counterparts, infused with a certain defensive mana." Volteer stated.

"So they aren't real crystals that would explain the color, or rather lack of." Moleyair agreed.

Terrador undid a scroll and saw a familiar picture. "Legends state that all traces of the Crystal Dragons were destroyed, but I believe we may have found a record that survived the raid."

"Emphasis on survived, the attempt to wipe the knowledge out was throughout." Cyril muttered.

"This is a text that is very outdated, it will take some time to translate." Terrador noted.

"Then we'd better get started." Moleyair stated.

FAI FAI FAI

"RAAAUUUUG!" roared a Watercroc however Flame snarled and bit it in the throat killing it Hunter stabbed another and Raiciel had zapped more they were wet, tired and still fighting. Bianca fell as she fell to knees trying to keep up the battle.

Solria landed on the boat, tired. "We need to do something!"

The other Dragons landed on the boat, Bianca however stood up she sucked in a breath and started to glow.

"Bianca?" Solria asked.

She was trying to gather as much mana around her as possible in a short amount of time. "Bianca no!" Koryu shouted. The twins started yelling as did Koz.

"What's going on?!" Flame stated.

"She's absorbing as much mana as she can in one go," Hunter growled, "but she does that…."

"She could burn herself out." Shelia muttered.

"Bianca stop!" the twins shouted. However it was too late Bianca had unleashed a burst of mana, that struck down the rest of the enemies and finally everything went quiet. "Bianca!" they shouted getting around her.

Hunter got to her side and felt her neck with a couple of her fingers. "She's alright."

"It's still a while before we get to Aradia, she needs to rest." Gea muttered.

"And Hunter needs more arrows and a bigger quiver." Sparx stated he went silent when everyone stared at him with an unimpressed look.

Watching was the sorceresses who grinned. "She is a budding master." The sorceresses chuckled. "I must make her my apprentice, continue the power I have over my dominion!" she stated looking over the large city. "Little do they know they're walking right towards my dominion." She chuckled.

The group managed to get a room in a nearby inn when Bianca woke up she saw the twins lying on the bed next to hers they perked up. "Bianca!" Solria stated.

"You're alright! How do you feel?" Koryu asked.

"I'm okay, sorry you guys." Bianca muttered. "I know I've been told not to do that."

"You could've died!" Solria snapped angrily however Koryu patted her on the shoulder making her back down.

"She's right, you know. I understand we were desperate but you should've been thinking about yourself you were already worn out just from blasting magic left and right." Koryu added.

Bianca nodded. "I couldn't think of anything else to do." she sighed before looking around. "Is it just us here?"

"Yes and no." Koryu replied looking over his shoulder to see Flame and Sparx snoring in the corner with droll hanging from their mouths.

"Bentley and Shelia went to find us some food and ask around. Koz is going with Hunter to find new weapons while Hunter restocks his arrows and a bigger quiver, Sparx meant it as an insult but he did have a good idea." Solria explained.

"I doubt Hunter would've gotten any arrows back even if he didn't run out you know he likes to recycle." Bianca replied.

"Hey keeps money in his pocket and arrows in his quiver." Koryu chuckled his look he turned. When he saw Shelia, Bentley come in.

"Oy, You're doing well!" Bentley stated seeing Bianca.

"You really gave us quite a scare." Shelia added.

"I know. I've already gotten a talking to for being a bad girl." Bianca joked.

Flame lifted his head half asleep. "Hot wings…." He muttered making Sparx fall off that instantly made the dragon fly alert.

"Oh you're back, welcome!" Sparx stated.

"Find anything out?" Solria asked.

"Yeah, hate to tell ya, but we only got out of the frying pan and as of now we're the fire." Bentley replied.

"Let me guess the entire town belongs to the Cult of Malefor." Sparx half joked half grimaced.

"Not nearly as bad, but, the entire town is the first part of the Sorceresses Dominion, on top of that she lives here." Shelia replied.

Sparx's face turned to one of sheer horror with massive eyes and a tiny mouth. "We're all gonna die."

I can't remember the episode's name but it's the one where Squidward lies about owning a five star restaurant the moment where Squidward reacts to Squilliam saying he'll come eat there that night and bring his friends is the face that Sparx just made. Yeah I wanted a river level but this chapter was kind of hard to write so…I'm wondering if I really needed it :/ Although I really love that I was able to fit a Beast Wars or Beasties if your in Canada shout out
