Chapter 10

By the time the loud boom was heard, people exited their houses to see what was going on. A few of them even witnessed the explosion, only, they didn't know there were two people caught in it. Some of them immediately called 911, the police, and the paramedics.

"Look!" A little girl said, pointing at the scene. Her mother looked towards where her daughter was pointing at, and saw two figures on the ground, very badly burned, and their bodies seemed lifeless.

The people in apartment 2J were watching the news on TV, something about an explosion, when the phone rang. Logan was the closest one to it, so he picked it up and handed it over to Kendall.

"Hello?"

"Kendall Knight?"

"Yeah, it's me."

"It's Officer Johnson."

"Officer Johnson? Wait, you were the one who handled the case on me and Clary, aren't you?"

"Yes. And speaking of Clary, I have some news about her. We found her in Las Vegas, where she had previously been."

"You found her? You found my sister?"

"Yes. We would need you and your family and friends to come to the hospital, you know which one. I need to go now, but I suggest you watch the news. Good afternoon."

Kendall hung up and turned his direction onto the TV screen. He saw pictures pop up on the screen. Pictures of Clary and… Tony?

"We are now at the scene of the explosion, and it's a huge surprise and mystery how these two young stars became a victim of this explosion. Yes, these two stars are the ones you would know by Clarissa Knight and Tony Carter. They-"

Kendall shut the TV off. He didn't need to hear anything else the reporter was saying. So he grabbed his jacket and said, "We need to get to the hospital. They found Clary and Tony."

Without any words by anyone else, all of them walked out the door.

Clary woke up, mysteriously feeling no pain at all. She looked around, noticing that she was laying down on fresh, green grass. She looked up and the sky was perfectly blue, and calm. She looked to her right and saw Tony, also laying there and smiling at her. She smiled back. "Hi Tony. Where are we?"

Tony shook his head. "I think we're dead. We must be in Heaven."

"No you're not." A soft voice said from somewhere in a distance. Clary and Tony got up and stood up immediately.

Clary was the first to notice as person. A girl, to be exact, about 14 years of age. "Who are you?" she asked the girl.

"Clary, you won't believe me. But it's me, Melissa." The girl said. Clary noticed that Melissa had long blond hair and soft green eyes.

"Melissa, you're alive?" Clary asked.

Melissa smiled. "Of course not, silly. Derek killed me, remember? I'm here to guide you two."

"Guide us? What for?" Tony asked.

Melissa sighed. "I'll get straight to the point. You know that you two were in a bomb explosion, now you are not dead, nor alive. You're both in a coma. Only one of you gets to live, but the other dies."

Clary and Tony looked at each other worriedly.

"I'll make it easier for you to choose who wants to live and who wants to die." Melissa said.

Clary was about to ask what she meant about it, when her parents appeared beside her. "Hi Clary." They said.

"Mom? Dad?" Clary asked, shocked. She hugged them immediately. "I missed you so much!"

"We missed you, too, sugar." Kevin Carlington said.

Clary turned towards Melissa. "I choose death, I'm positive."

"Slow down there, Clary. You need to see this, too." Melissa pointed towards the ground, and Clary saw everyone she knew for the past few months. Kendall being depressed. Katie shutting everyone out. Her stepmom crying her eyes out. Hazel and Lizzie just plain crying. James, Carlos, Logan, holding back tears. "Now you can choose, Clary." Melissa said after Clary saw all that.

Clary was about to choose death again when Tony spoke up. "Can I choose first?"

Melissa nodded. She showed Tony his family, crying out and begging for him to wake up. Tony gulped. It was a hard decision. "I choose… death. I couldn't live with knowing I was the reason Clary dies. I was the one who's supposed to die, so let it be me."

"Tony, don't!" Clary begged. "You have your family waiting for you down there. My family is up here, I should be the one who dies."

"Clary." Melissa called. "It's too late for that. Tony made the decision at the right time. The decision had been made."

Tears streamed down Clary's face. "No, please!" she looked towards where Tony was, but he had disappeared.

"Tony will die…" Melissa started. "…when the time has come."

"What do you mean?" Clary asked.

"Death had made an exception for you two. He let both of you live… for now." Melissa stated.

Clary sighed in relief. "Thank you."

"But, if anything happens that can lead to either you or Tony's death later in life, one of you will go." Melissa warned. "Tony had already woken up. It's time for you to wake up now."

Clary nodded, then she asked, "Will Tony and I remember about this?"

Melissa shook her head. "No. Goodbye Clary."

The next thing Clary knew, was being overcame by darkness.

"She's waking up!" Katie said, being the first to notice Clary's body moving.

Kendall came over immediately. "Clary, are you awake?" he asked.

Clary's eyes opened, and she blinked a few times. "Where am I?" she asked. That was when she noticed her surroundings.

"You're in the hospital, honey." Mrs. Knight said. Clary realized that there was only her, Katie, Kendall, and Mrs. Knight in the room.

"Where's everyone else?" she asked.

"They're outside. Only three visitors are allowed right now." Kendall said.

"Oh." Clary said. Then she remembered everything that really happened. The bomb. The explosion. Tony. "Where's Tony?" she asked.

Kendall, Katie and Mrs. Knight looked at each other.

"He didn't die, did he?" Clary asked, getting worried.

"No, Clary. He didn't. Lizzie, Hazel and Tony's mom are in his room right now." Katie said.

"I wanna see him." Clary said, trying to sit up. Then she felt a burning pain. "OW! My body hurt so bad! I'd rather take Derek's beating than this." She looked down and noticed most of her body covered in cast-cloth.

"You were burned really badly, honey. Especially your back, it's the worst. Tony was, too." Mrs. Knight said.

"It really hurts when I move." Clary said. "Why didn't I just die in the explosion?"

Everyone gasped at her last sentence. "Why are you saying that?" Kendall asked in disbelief.

"When the bomb exploded, I-"

"Wait a minute, bomb?" Katie asked, cutting Clary off.

"It's a long story." Clary said.

"Well, of course it's a long story! Tony went missing for whatever reason, then you ran away – which I'm still really mad about – , then there was an explosion and it turned out that you and Tony were in it! So tell me right now Clarissa Clarabelle Carlington-Knight! What happened?" Kendall said all in one breath, furiously.

Clary looked shocked at her brother's outburst. She sighed. "Fine! You wanna know everything? You can! I dyed my hair blond, changed my name into Tiffany Debris, walked all the was to Las Vegas, went to my crazy so-called uncle's house, found out that he and Hawk had been keeping Tony in there, then I helped Tony get out of the house, we went to the park, and it turned out that he had a bomb on his left wrist installed by Derek, then we found out Derek followed us, then he made the bomb explode while me and Tony were kissing – which was supposed to be our last kiss!" Clary said, her tone increasing each word. No one blamed her for that, though. She did get through a lot of stuff.

Katie gaped, Mrs. Knight looked shocked and Kendall… well, his reaction was… "You risked your life and kissed a boy? You're 13, Clary! Can't you think for a second, that you are… You're so…"

"I'm what?" Clary challenged. She didn't care that she was fighting with her brother for the first time.

"You're so stupid!" Kendall yelled. "You're so stupid that you risked your life for this kind of stuff! You could've died! Didn't you think about that? Of course you didn't, since that brain of your doesn't seem like it's working!"

"Oh, so now you're saying that I'm stupid? Fine! I believe it! I'm stupid. I'm stupid that I did what my dad told me to do! I shouldn't have came to LA in the first place!" Clary yelled back.

"Well maybe you should've done that, then I wouldn't have to have a stupid, broken, niece from a psychopath, little sister!" Kendall yelled again, louder, without thinking.

Tears streamed down Clary's face as she heard that. "You didn't want me as a sister?" she asked.

Kendall glared at her, oblivious to the fact that he really hurt her feelings.

"Kendall Donald Knight! Take back what you said right now!" Mrs. Knight scolded.

"I won't." Kendall said. "Because I meant it."

With that, he turned around and left the room.

"Stay here, girls." Mrs. Knight said, before going after Kendall.

Katie looked at Clary with some sort of look.

Clary shook her head, her tears still streaming down. "Kendall hates me, doesn't he?" she said.

Katie's answer was totally unexpected. "Yes. Yes, Clary, he hates you. So do I! He's right; you are stupid! How could you leave all of us, to go back to LV and do all that crazy things! I just… I really hate you right now!" she yelled and left the room.

Clary watched as everyone left her in the hospital room, alone and broken. She brought her hands up and buried her face in them, no matter how much her burns hurt. Her heart hurt so much more. Now she really wished she was dead.

Poor Clary. But hey, at least she and Tony were found, right? And what do you think about Clary/Katie/Kendall's first fight?

More will come up in the next chapter, if I get at least one review.

Oh, I almost forgot, read Big Time Mia's first ever story here in fanfiction, 'A Day In A Life'. It's awesome!
