GUESS WHO'S FINALLY BACK?! I suck so bad, I know. And I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am. My computer has been broken, and I've been super busy. But now that my schedule is clear, weekly updates are promised. And because of the super late update, this is full of RxD fluff! I hope you all enjoy :)
Disclaimer: I do not own VA
Friday during class I watched the clock anxiously. All I could think about was the text I'd received from Dimitri earlier that morning.
Roza,
I'm sorry that we haven't spent much time together. I've been so busy with work lately. I would like to take you on a date tonight. Wear a nice dress, and be ready at six. I'll pick you up.
-D
He had work conferences all that week, so we rarely saw each other for more than five minutes. I shook my foot while I stared at the ticking hands move slowly towards the three and the twelve.
"Eager to leave?" Mason whispered in my ear.
His breath tickled my ear. I rubbed my ear on my shoulder. "You have no idea." I sighed.
"Got a date tonight?" Eddie leaned over in his chair next to me to join the conversation.
"Obviously. There's no way she'd be this anxious about going home to watch Gossip Girl reruns." Mason joked. I turned around and glared at him.
"Shut the hell up." I turned back to the clock. When the bell finally rang, I jumped up and booked it out the door.
"Rose!" Lissa called from her locker.
"Hi! Bye!" I yelled as I rushed past. I found my keys in my purse and started my car. With traffic, I had two and a half hours to be ready for whatever surprise Dimitri had for me. I raced home in my new car, and parked it in our circular drive-way. I opened the door and kicked my shoes off. As I reached the door, Abe cleared his throat.
"Rose, come here." He said.
I rolled my eyes and walked over to the chair he was sitting in. He put down his papers and smoothed his suit. "What do you want? I have a thing tonight I need to get ready for." He gestured to the chair opposite him. I exhaled in annoyance as I plopped down.
"How was your day?" he asked casually.
"Seriously?" I laughed. "I have to get ready." I moved to stand.
"Sit. Down." He ordered, his eyes black with anger. I slowly sat back down, watching as his expression softened. "Now, tell me how your day was."
"It was fine." I said.
"Just fine? How were your classes?" he prodded.
"Yes, just fine. They were boring and pointless as always." I looked above his head the glass clock hanging about his chair. I sighed. It was almost four o'clock.
"Classes are hardly pointless. You need them if you want to be as successful as your mother and me." he lectured.
"Cool. Are we done now?" I was beyond annoyed.
"Where is that you're rushing off to this evening?" he asked, voice bored. It pissed me off.
"A date. With Dimitri." I looked at my nails, making a mental note to fix my polish.
"Dimitri? As in Dimitri Belikov?" his voice sounded surprised.
"The very one." I cocked my head to the side. "Is there a problem?"
"He's a little old for you, isn't he?" he crossed his arms.
"The only thing that's getting old, is your attempt to be a dad." He almost looked hurt. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get ready." I stood and ran out of the room before he had a chance to stop me.
As soon as I got to my room, I stripped out of my school clothes. I opened the French double doors to my closet and stepped inside. I ran my hands along all of my dresses. My finger caught on sequins, and I pulled the dress out. It was black, covered in sequins, long sleeved, and had no back. It was tight in the front, but loose in the back so the cut-out hung loosely, then got tight around my butt. I picked black satin pumps to go along with them. I shaved my legs quickly, and rubbed lotion into my skin.
I pulled my hair into a chiffon below my ear, and left a few curled pieces out. I fixed my smokey eye makeup, and put on diamond earrings. By the time I applied deodorant and body spray, it was time to meet Dimitri. I grabbed my black coach purse and ran down the stairs as fast as I could in heels. When I got outside, Dimitri's car was parked in front of my house, and he was leaning on the passenger side door. My breath caught in my mouth as I looked at him. He was wearing a crisp suit, and his tie was perfect. His hair was down, and curled around his face.
My knees began to feel wobbly as I walked up to him. "You look beautiful, Roza." He breathed, a look of awe burned on his face. I smiled shyly and looked down at my feet.
"You don't look so bad yourself, Comrade." He grinned, flashing his perfectly white teeth. He opened the door for me, and kissed my forehead before I got in. He hurried to the other side and climbed in. He moved his hand to mine, squeezing it.
"Ready?" he asked, the smile on his face giving me butterflies. I nodded, and he pulled away from the curb. I studied his face while he watched the road. My eyes traced his strong jaw line up to his chocolate eyes. He seemed nervous, though he wasn't willing to show it. His hand slid off the wheel, and he ran his hand up my thigh before lacing his fingers in mine. Ours eyes met for a split second, but it was enough to light my body on fire.
As we drove, I let my mind wander. I couldn't stop thinking about what happened at the party. It was embarrassing to say the least that I threw my drunk self all over him. The whole situation left me confused. Confused because I never waited for sex, and confused that he wanted to wait. I was even more confused that I was okay with it. I scared me, a little. I was already in way too deep with him, and that wasn't good. I never stayed around for too long, and the fact that it had already been a month or two with him sent a red flag waving.
I thought of his hands on me, his lips on my neck, and the way he ripped my dress open. I felt my belly get hot, and I shook my head of the thoughts. Not now, Rose.
"You okay?" Dimitri asked, a concerned look on his face. Hell no. And I won't be until you kiss me.
"Yes." I said happily, forcing a smile.
"Good." He smiled back. He glanced back at the road and took a deep breath. He turned into a small boat harbor, and cut the engine. "We're here." My stomach exploded with more butterflies. He opened his door and hurried over to my door to open it for me. He put his arm around my waist and led me to the dock. He covered my eyes. "No peaking." He whispered. I smiled and nodded.
We walked for a couple more feet, and then he slowly lowered my hand. I opened my eyes and gasped. Right in front of me was the most beautiful yacht I had ever seen. It was covered in glowing, white Christmas lights. Dimitri led me up the ramp, and my stomach flipped at the sight. There was a table with candles, a bottle of champagne, and a man who I presumed was a waiter standing by the table. Soft music was playing over the speakers, making it even more peaceful. I looked at Dimitri, who was already staring at me. I grinned, and his face mirrored mine.
"It's beautiful," I whispered. "I can't believe you did all this for me."
"Of course. Only the best for you." He squeezed my hand. "Besides, it's not nearly as beautiful as the girl standing next to me." he whispered in my ear. He led me to my seat, and scooted in my chair for me.
"Your meal will be done shortly." The waiter said, and started pouring champagne into two flutes. "In the meantime, please enjoy some champagne." He bowed and left, to where I assumed the kitchen was. I looked out at the water as the boat began to move, admiring the way the lights looked on the gentle waves.
"What are you thinking?" Dimitri asked, taking a sip of his champagne.
"How incredible all of this is." I waved around the boat.
Dimitri grinned, all of his perfect white teeth flashing. The waiter brought our food, and we talked about random things. The evening couldn't be more perfect, or so I thought. When our plates were cleared of the delicious lobster and pasta, Dimitri stood and reached for my hand. He pulled me up from my chair. He walked me up the stairs to the second floor, that looked out over the ocean, with nothing else surrounding it. He grabbed one of my hands, the other hand holding my waist.
"Dance with me." he whispered. I nodded, and grasped his shoulder with my free hand. He began to move his feet, twirling me all around the landing. He stared into my eyes the whole time, a small smile never leaving his face. He let go of my waist, spinning me around. I laughed, but was silenced when he pulled me back and my mouth met his. His hands came up to cup my face, and my knees went weak. He chuckled. His hands moved to the small of my back, keeping me up as his lips molded into mine. I don't know how long we stood there under the lights, but I never wanted it to end.
Unfortunately, the night was over, however, when he pulled up to my house an hour later. He leaned over and kissed me softly
"Goodnight my beautiful Roza." He breathed against my lips.
"Goodnight, Comrade." I said.
I felt weak as I walked back up to my house, and couldn't wipe the stupid grin off my face. The house was dark, so I took my heels off and walked as quietly as possible up the marbled staircase. I crept into my room, and took a long shower. I threw on a pair underwear and a t-shirt I stole from Dimitri's closet. I walked over to my door, hitting the light switch near it. I grabbed a pillow and blanket off my bed, and opened my balcony doors. It was a nice night, so I decided I would sleep on the chaise I had outside. I put my pillow down, and was about to climb under my blanket when something caught my eye down in my yard. I squinted my eyes, trying to get a better look. A shadow moved from behind the bush. My breath caught in my throat, and I reached for the door. My phone rang loudly, nearly making me jump out of my skin.
I didn't recognize the number on the screen. "Hello?" I could hear the tremble in my voice.
"Rose," I was met with a low voice. "It's me. I have the stuff."
