Hi~! Please read this. It maybe somewhat an interesting chapter. Or not.
This is a huge recap thing, since some have been getting lost and I haven't updated this in awhile.
I'll also put in some more notes upon how I thought of them, the dolls.
Cause also in a way, the dolls will be their kids or cousin whatever in other fics. No M-preg, but yeah. Other than Misora and Maeko from my other two fics.
In which Misora is a product of Masamune and another woman, and Maeko is Ritsu's little sister of an about 17 year gap, and etc.
I don't own any of Nakamura's works, Peach-Pit's works (The idea of Rozen Maiden).
Recap from last chapter:
Ritsu manages to meet with Masamune and they go to the movies and then go hang out at Masamune's apartment (like that's it, just hanging out) and An sees them and is happy to have found Ritsu. Ritsu now has a ring and can use powers. Doll Shiori stays back at the library after finding about the wonders of the internet.
Chiaki runs off with his doll Haruka when Tori and Yuu get in his apartment.
Akihiko accepts Misaki's doll Mio as someone that's not going to try and take Misaki away from him, and he even gives the tiny thing her own Suzuki-san. And manages to get his fill of Misaki.
Miyagi and Nowaki are still unaware of the dolls' existence, with Nowaki still out on his trip (upon Hiroki's encouragement) and Miyagi just being avoided by Shinobu.
Ryuuichirou comes home to his doll Wataru, who wants Kaoru to know about them, but Ryuuichirou wants to keep him safe so currently Kaoru will be avoided a little more than usual because of their work.
Shouta is having major headaches and memory flashes of another life. His dolls think that he may be connected to their past before they became dolls. One of his dolls is Kou's but he took it beforehand since he found his doll first and knows of the consequences and did not want Kou to get involved or hurt.
Takafumi keeps his doll a secret from the Kirishimas, and his doll is warming up to him. Sorata has also become attached to her as if she were his own kitten.
- There are 3 chairs left in that other world with the dolls' real bodies and an unknown woman.
- Wataru, Ryuuichirou's doll, suspects new friend Sumiko as being one of their supposed 'Older siblings' that are to occupy the 3 empty chairs. Who are the other two?
- What exactly was Ryuuichirou's reason of introducing Sumiko to the Usami brothers? How exactly is the Usami Family connected to this?
- Ritsu is suspected as being another 'Older sibling', as he can sense the unworldly beings like Sumiko.
- Currently, the ones with the rings are: Ryuuichirou, Ritsu, Shouta, Shinobu, and Hiroki.
- Chiaki, Misaki, and Takafumi have yet to do a contract. And Kou technically, but Shouta has the two in possession.
1st Doll: Wataru (Spelled as in meaning for Navigation)
She is about almost 2 feet, the tallest of the dolls. Her human age is 11.
Has gray eyes and long, golden blonde, wavy hair. (I put in light blue some chapters back, but that was a mistake, sorry!)
Wataru wears a two navy-striped sundress, with the white stripe down in the center. She carries a white, elegant umbrella that doubles as her weapon.
She has the ability to travel in the air with the umbrella and fight off with it like a sword or cane. She can also create portals in the other places or dimensions, but she can't really control the destination though if she hasn't gone through it herself.
With everyone, she tends to have a poker face most of the time, and is very observant. Ryuuichirou found her way before all the other characters when her case was on his kitchen counter one morning. Ryuuichirou himself has had his own fair share of memory dreaming of another life, so he sort of has a good hold on the situation.
She is very afraid of spiders. One of her past owners had left open her case in their attic and just left her there for days absentmindedly, and they didn't wind her up with her key, so she couldn't move. The next time that same owner moved her downstairs, case and all, and winded her up before leaving for something.
As she woke up to see her surroundings, it scared the heck out of her seeing some 4 spiders coming out from her limbs and her hands upon feeling her awake. There were some in her case too. Spiders were inhabiting her body. *shudders*
And then she felt one crawl in her ear too, and that really did a number on her. Nowadays, she leaves the room in the presence of a spider, and Ryuuichirou has to get rid of it.
She fascinated with the type of guy Ryuuichirou is. Even more so of Kaoru (when he comes over she goes from hiding behind the curtain, the bathroom, the cupboards, and under the bed. She doesn't understand why their relationship is not that romantic yet romantic when they have been together since childhood.
All this she keeps to herself most of the time of course.
Since Ryuuichirou has been keeping a distance from Kaoru to keep him safe, Wataru is the one to wake him up now when he sleeps in the bath.
With Ryuuichirou, Wataru feels a strange companionship with him. She feels herself talking more and more than necessary, and worries for Kaoru despite wanting him to know about her. She feels like she might be a catalyst for their relationship because they hardly keep anything from each other.
To the other dolls, she is of the elegant older sister kind.
In contract with Wataru, Ryuuichirou can change a door (or any opening) into a random dimension and send off opponents at any random notice (if he wants them off their back when he's busy). If he's been there, he can control what place they can be sent to.
2nd Doll: Haruka (Spelled meaning Distant)
Has somewhat long, lighter brown hair than Chiaki; her bangs point to the right side, and is parted from the top left side.
She has blue-gray eyes. Or green-gray, either works. Her human age is 10.
(I based her off the female protagonist of the Pokémon Emerald game. Her hair isn't styled like the protagonist all that much though, it's just down and straight in here.)
Chiaki is the only one of her masters that made an effort of getting to know her.
He dotes on her a lot, despite waking her up recently. He never thought this would happen to him.
She cares for him deeply, especially seeing his lifestyle. Whenever Tori or Yuu comes over she hides off in the bedroom. Hearing them, listening to their conversations, she finds some tension between the two whenever they come over. She doesn't like them all that much.
She feels that Tori is either too harsh or too gentle, and feels that Yuu is a good friend, but it sounds like he's a bit too personal.
Her weapon is a long, stick straw fan that she uses to fan or slap enemies away, or hit them with the long stick part or vice versa. She can also create strong winds that can cut through anything.
Despite her little hands, she cooks very well. With her former masters, most were old and not sound of mind so she cared for them. Half the time forced, but other then that, she enjoys it.
With strangers she is polite and shy, and even with her fellow dolls half the time.
Not seen yet in the other chapters, but she tends to mimic Chiaki when she sees him drawing. Half the time though she draws clouds and flowers with cute faces on them.
Since Chiaki is a man, she found it strange when he bought her such frilly and cute dresses. Her clothes change everyday.
In her human life from what she remembers, she was a orphan, and no parent figure in her life until Chiaki.
3rd Doll: Shiori (Meaning Bookmark)
Was formerly an Onodera, and still is. His human age is 6.
Green eyes like Ritsu, but with dark hair and his bangs are parted like a young Ritsu.
He is technically Ritsu's great, great, great, great... Uncle-cousin-something. He had a twin brother who looked similar to current Ritsu, and a little sister, who carried on the Onodera line.
Fond of reading, he finds the library a paradise for the most part. Currently he is getting into the internet.
For reasons yet to be revealed, he was never wound up whenever he comes into the possession of his family every how many years when the puppet man's little game begins, that is, until Ritsu.
He is a kind little boy, and not competitive in nature like his long ago twin who looked similar to Ritsu. In one of his pockets is a small key on a chain, and it is similar in model to his actual one that was given to him by his twin (who loved digging through the attic). The key doesn't seem to fit in anywhere.
His power can manifest in two ways: One is that he can conjure papers/bookmarks that he can control to attack with.
The second is complex, and something that he doesn't know himself yet. He and Ritsu will find out later in the story (sorry, not spoiling this part.)
4th Doll: Hibiki (Meaning Sound, echo...)
5th Doll: Kotone (Meaning Koto sound)
Whereas Hibiki has dark hair, Kotone has reddish brown hair in pigtails, and both have brown-golden eyes. (A little based upon Pokémon Soulsilver and Heartgold game protagonists; sorry, I was and still fond of the Pokémon game and characters upon development of characters and story- this story.)
Hibiki is a boy who, compared to his twin sister, isn't afraid to call things out as he sees it. Tends to call Kou 'Sparkles', and his ability lies within anything with sound. Once he is able to focus on any sound he is able to resonate it in many different ways, whether to soothe, disturb, or destroy anyone's sense of hearing within earshot.
With Kotone's ability to summon her own Koto to attack with sound notes, he can resonate it to a more powerful stage of sound. Along with to attack with sound notes, Kotone can attach through her Koto 'strings' that align with an opponent's body, and is able to launch repetitive music notes that attacks where she wants it to.
However, once the opponent can cut off their 'strings' she cannot attach them again.
Hibiki annoyed Shouta when the latter found him and winded him up, asking him many things about things and poking at his attraction to men (after the doll had to help get rid of a stalker in one setting). Teasing wise though he is very much similar to Shouta when he does so, annoying the older man even more.
With Kotone, Shouta is a little wary and affectionate towards her, as she looks up to him highly and is very honest in how she perceives him to be, which is alarmingly positive half the time, which sort of throws him off guard and encouraging him to not be so negative.
With Hibiki, Shouta treats him as if he were a cocky little boy, refusing to admit that the little doll is probably smarter and wiser than him despite losing half of the arguments. However, Shouta finds himself relating to the doll and vice-versa about trivial topics, to which both latters refuse to admit out loud.
When Shouta begins having flashback attacks of another life and is increasingly becoming drained each day, both dolls are very worried for him, debating whether to involve Kou or destroy their contracts, which is almost impossible as Shouta refuses to (as it takes both doll and master to agree to destroying the contract).
In contract with the two, Shouta can use any sound he makes, with or without an object, into an offensive attack. And then, he is able to tap into Kotone's 'strings' and manipulate them.
Their human age is 8.
6th Doll: Chiemi (Meaning Beautiful wisdom)
7th Doll: Riemi (Meaning Beautiful logic)
For easier explanation about their appearance...
Both dolls have long straight hair (Chiemi's is in a side braid, and Riemi straight down her back), about as dark as let's say, Takafumi's hair. Their eyes are a slightly darker shade of gray, and their bangs are much like Takafumi's but Riemi's bangs go the opposite direction while Chiemi's are like Takafumi's (unintentional when I drew them out and then remembered Takafumi's hair.)
Chiemi can be very distinctive from the other dolls from the slight indentions along her arms and legs. Her previous masters (apart from one nice, older woman) had abused her greatly until their end in the passing games. From this, she was wary of men and still wary of men apart from the recent masters. Takafumi's care of her reminds her faintly of her mother. She has a crush on Shiori.
Unlike Kotone and Hibiki, Chiemi and Riemi are twin cousins.
Riemi is the more daring of the two, and blends in quickly with the passing times. With Shinobu, she tends to act a little spoiled to be on par with the young master himself, who can be bratty himself (she hears Miyagi next door mumbling a lot). She and Shinobu are rather a smart duo, and they plan on beating the game. Although, Riemi isn't particularly interested in getting her real body back.
Whereas Chiemi relies on past and recent knowledge when fighting foes, Riemi focuses on what is said, how they move, and how they act. With that she can deduce a possible strategy and reasoning for their movements. Riemi's choice of weapon are expandable rings and can cut through and handcuff opponents at her bidding. The rings are much similar to rings used in gymnastics.
On that note, Chiemi's choice of weapon is the ribbon. (Yes, the one used in gymnastics also). She is able to widen the ribbon to trap enemies in an hidden dimension space and release them in a different location and slap them repeatedly. Or wrap them with her ribbon and slam them down repeatedly. However, she cannot cut through anything with them.
In contract with Riemi, Shinobu can read another person's movements as well, and his senses are heightened.
They are age 6.
8th Doll: Shizukesa
She is a calm young girl, and very soft spoken. When received, Hiroki was by himself as Nowaki had left on an hospital trip. After arguing with himself that he was lonely (and definitely did not need anyone to talk to), Hiroki winded her up.
Her hair is short, down to her chin and cut straight across, with her bangs cut straight across above her eyes as well. It's also a dark brown in contrast to Hiroki's lighter brown. Her eyes are a warm brown, almost dark.
Originally she was dressed in a kimono like a traditional tea doll, but Hiroki changed her wardrobe to look more modern and like a real child. When she smiles it reminds Hiroki of Nowaki, so on his behalf she tries not to smile so much (as Hiroki becomes noticeably, reluctantly depressed). She has made a habit of calling Hiroki as her father figure, and Nowaki as such as well (despite not meeting him yet).
With her is a small bear doll (wearing a bow and a dress), who is, in reality, her baby sister Arashi. When angered Arashi can summon windstorms, which only go away when she is calmed.
Shizukesa can affect anyone with her emotions- or in this case, her calmness, which results in her being able to relax opponents before hitting their weak point effectively. In contract, Hiroki can draw power from how he feels (in which half the time he sets something on fire).
To his annoyance (he eventually comes to like it a little), Shinobu visits him more frequently with Riemi (who was happy when she found one of her friends). Hiroki gradually grows more fatherly towards Shizukesa, and around this time is annoyed with the neighbor's son, who tries to talk and look over at her when she is playing outside with Arashi.
Shizukesa is 5 years old, with Arashi being about a year old.
9th Doll: Mio
Mio is the most childish of the dolls, with light green eyes. She has blonde-brownish hair that goes to her shoulders, with two long braids in two small black bows starting from the base of her neck. Her dress is noticeably from European origins.
From her flashback-dream, one can assume she was adopted with no clue to who her real parents are. Her perceptions of what a mother and father are easily edited, as she now considers anyone a mother based upon what they do more in comparison to what a father does (which is less). She calls Misaki 'Mommy' and Akihiko 'Daddy', since Misaki does more things (from her eyes) than Akihiko.
Her weapon consists of two things, a roll of thread, and a needle that is almost as long as her. Although she can never fight correctly (as she always gets hit first and cries afterwards), her needle is able to stab through her cotton filled opponents and re-thread them. Her thread is smooth and strong, unable to be cut, even by Kotone's power. After re-threading them, she is able to bring them into her control.
However, she has never actually done so, as she is easily taken down due to her childish nature.
Since she was made later than the rest, she wasn't able to mature as much as they did.
She is 4 years old.

My brothers and little cousins have turned off the lights and watching horror clips. And I'm here... doing this...
