Clary's POV
It had been two days since Simon had started ignoring me. He still showed up at lunch, but he kept his head down for the most part and didn't hang out with people except for Max. I had tried talking to him a few times to apologize for not locking my door, but he would just walk away or pretend he didn't hear me.
I was beginning to think that he was never going to talk to be again and that he wasn't my friend anymore. It made me really sad, especially since I thought he was my best friend. What would Mommy say if she knew I had hurt someone again?
"You're awfully quiet today. You haven't even asked me to kiss you yet." Jace remarked, petting my head. We were sitting in the rec room by ourselves. It was just after lunch and everyone else had went to Magnus' room to work on their Halloween costumes. It was hard enough for me to go to every meal, so faking a smile long enough to sketch an idea was too much right now. Mia had reminded me this morning that Halloween was in two days, so I would have to do it soon.
I had asked Jace if he would like me to dress as Red Riding Hood since I knew he would like it, but he told me that was not a good idea. I asked why, and he had looked me straight in the eye and warned that Magnus was known for making racy costumes and if he saw me in a red hood with knee high stockings, he wouldn't be able to restrain from taking me in front of everyone. I didn't understand why it would make him want to kidnap me, especially since we had nowhere to go. After he explained it would involve pushing everything off the table to throw me on it and the best orgasm of his life, I had blushed and we ended up kissing a lot again.
Jace had stopped us before anything fun had happened, but he told me had to take a break from that stuff for a while. I was really mad about it, especially since he still had not let me see him naked yet and I really wanted to, but I knew better than to argue. Jace hadn't been mean to me at all in two days and I didn't want to risk making him mad and losing two friends.
"I'm just sad." I sighed, pulling the blanket securely up to my neck and nuzzling my head into his lap.
I felt Jace's legs tense as he growled deep in his chest. "This isn't still about Rat Boy is it?"
"I told you to stop calling him that." I pouted my lip and swatted at his knee.
"And I told you that he didn't matter," Jace rolled his eyes and tried to keep petting my hair. He knew I liked it.
I sat up and crossed my arms over my tank top. "Just because you don't want any friends, doesn't mean that I don't."
Jace paused his videogame and sat the controller on the coffee table. I had no idea what the game was, but he got to shoot people with guns and set off explosions. It was the perfect game for him. "I have friends."
"Yeah, three. Me, Alec and Max." I deadpanned.
"Izzy too." He countered, "And Magnus isn't horrible."
"Well, I like everyone." Except for Sebastian. But I wasn't giving Jace the satisfaction of admitting it.
"I just don't get why you need that many friends. It's not smart to care about everyone." Jace chastised me and grabbed my hand to play with it.
"But it's smart to care about me?" I asked hopefully.
Jace was quiet for awhile as he studied my hands. "Caring about people means risking getting hurt."
"But if not then you will never be happy, just all alone. Not everyone wants to hurt people, Jace." I brought his hand to my face and kissed it gently. "Do I make you happy?"
"Yes." His voice was so low I almost didn't hear it.
"You make me happy too. So do my other friends. Like Simon. Well, he used to." I muttered, wrapping myself back in the blanket again.
"I hate how you make me want to do stuff I don't want to." Jace groaned as he shot up, shutting off the PS4. I immediately stood up with him frowning and wrapping him up in the blanket too.
"I don't want to make you do anything." I hated when Mommy or my teachers or Luke told me I had to do something. Especially when I was hungry.
"Never mind." Jace smiled at me, leaning down to kiss me chastely on the lips. I leaned in, but he was already standing straight. "I have to go. Why don't you see if Mia and Magnus can help you pick a costume?"
"Okay." I wanted to ask what he was doing, but I knew better. "Can I have one more kiss?"
"You can always have one more kiss." He told me with a grin as he gathered my face in his hands.
Jace's POV
"Jace. What are you doing in here?" Simon's face paled as he spun around from the urinal, zipping his fly. He had been in Max's room playing World of Warcraft or some other lame board game but had stepped out to take a leak.
It only took me 10 minutes to find the annoying fucker. It's not like he had a lot of hangouts. "You are going to stop ignoring Clary and apologize for being a dick."
He stepped around me and rolled his eyes. "I'm not afraid of you Jace, you can't just force me to do stuff against my will."
"We both know you are for good reason. And it wouldn't be against your will. I know you miss her, I see it on your face." It was infuriating to see Clary hurt over something so stupid.
"You are taking advantage of her and I am the only one who seems to realize it." Simon accused me, squaring his shoulders and clenching his fists. "I can't just sit by and watch you mess with her. She doesn't even understand how serious this is."
My fingers switched and before I could stop them I had him shoved up against the wall, by arm pressing into his neck. "I would never take advantage of Clary and you know it. What happens between us is none of your business, but it is also consensual, not that it is any of your damn business. I can't help that she wants me and not you."
His eyes narrowed, and his lip curled up. I knew I had struck a chord. "You're pathetic."
My ears rung as my cheek began to burn from the pain. I coward on the floor, curling up in a ball, while my mother screamed in pain and rage. Stephan spit on me, shaking his head, "You're pathetic."
I saw red and it took everything in me not to beat him to a pulp. Clary flashed across my vision, calming me down and reminding me I would lose her forever if I laid a finger on his scrawny ass. I let him go, shoving him slightly into the wall. "Like you're any better with your bestiality kink."
Simon's face looked as if he had seen a ghost, "How do you know about me and Izzy? That was months ago. It only happened once."
"I never sleep. All I do is roam the halls, looking for entertainment and trouble." I reminded him with an evil smirk "Besides, you guys weren't exactly quiet."
His face flushed. "It wasn't like that. I wasn't trying to do anything, I just woke up and she was – I don't have to explain myself to you."
"And neither do I." I countered, turning away and walking towards the door. "I don't care what you do behind closed doors, just leave mine alone and apologize."
Sorry I have been gone forever. Shit happens. I know this isn't the longest update, but the next one should be much longer and juicier. I am planning on the Halloween party and for Clary's family to stop by.
What happened between Izzy and Simon exactly?
Why did Jace decide to halt the smut?
Do you think Simon has a point?
